Lo Que La Vida Me Robo, capitulo 115. 04/22/14

Naive Esme finds out from Dim the problems Refugio is facing at work due to her pole dancing.

Graceless calls Dim to inform him that Montse is in the hospital having surgery. She doesn't know if Montse will make it. Dim tells Esme that Montse is in the hospital with a gunshot wound and runs out of the house.

Vic wants to turn the cell phone on to find out if Ale is on his way. Nadia says it's too dangerous. Ale rushes in to see if his family has arrived yet. Vic says they can't wait for them, they have to leave now. Nadia says the police are on there way and they can't afford to wait. She doesn't want to return to the hell that she was living in with Pervy Pedro.

Montse is in surgery and finds herself in a white room where she sees her beloved father, Lauro.

Vic stresses that they cannot wait for Ale's family. He and Nadia have to leave now. The pilot is ready and it's a 30 minute drive to the airport. Ale begs for another 15 minutes, but Vic says it's too long. They are not just looking for us, but for you too. You have to leave now with us. Montse and company can catch up to us later. We have to leave without her. Ale forbids it. I can't leave without my woman and family. Nadia begs him to reconsider. Vic puts the squash on the arguing and insists he and Nadia are leaving now. Ale grabs Vic by the shirt and says they are not going to leave without his family. Kapish?! Vic tells Ale that he is serving them up to the enemy if they stay. Ale tells Vic that he will get BSC if he tries to leave without his family. Vic doesn't care. He will not allow Ale to put his woman and child in harm. Macario tries to squash the fight. What would Padre Anselmo say if he saw you to arguing? Ale reminds Vic that the plane was bought with his money. Nadia is in the background crying. Vic reminds Ale that Montse and his child are not in danger, but they are. Ale informs the scared couple that Montse is also in danger. Pedro is offering a reward if someone kills Montse. When Nadia asks why, Ale reminds her that if it wasn't for Montse helping her get away they wouldn't be standing here today. We cannot abandon her.

Montse's blood pressure is going down and we are back with Lauro in the white room. She tells him how much she misses him. He says he is always with her. She can't remember the last time she had a kiss from him. Our love is a big hug that lasts for eternity replies Lauro. You left thinking the worst of me replies Montse but Lauro says she is his princess and he knew her better then anyone.

Vic tells Ale that Pedro called and said the police where ordered to use deadly force if they tried to escape. They could all end up dead if they stay. Ale doesn't understand why Montse and company have not arrived yet. JL should be here already with them. But he's in prison replies Vic. No, he escaped prison. Nadia points out that JL hates him. Vic can't believe that Ale put trust in JL. Ale says you don’t' know the whole story, but he will bring my family to me safe and sound. Vic points out that they can't wait anymore. They can find a way to have Montse join them later but they have to leave. We can't allow you to go back to prison and for Nadia to fall into Pedro's hands again. Nadia begs Ale to leave. Finally Ale agrees. He tells Macario that as soon as his family arrives to go with them. He also tells the ranch hands not to confront the police. They leave.

At the prison, Captain Robledo wants to visit with JL. The guard that JL bribed to get out tells the captain to come back tomorrow. The captain insists on speaking with him immediately. Its very important. The guard tries again to deter the captain by saying JL requested no visitors today. The captain in his booming voice says he doesn't care. The guard looks lost and Lt. Monica insists he run along and get JL or they will have to speak to the warden. The guard leaves and tells Refugio that the captain and Lt. want to talk to JL. Refugio tells the guard to tell them that JL is in the infirmary, but the guard says that isn't going to jive.

Dim comes running in and asks after Montse's welfare. Both Graceless and Carlotta say they haven't heard anything just that things have gotten complicated. Graceless is anguished and Dim says that Montse will not die. Graceless says she needs him more then ever and not to abandon her. Suddenly Dim sees JL and asks him what he is doing here? JL says he got out for only 24 hours. He was trying to protect Montse but was too late. When I arrived at the house, all I heard was a gunshot. I saw Montse fall to the ground and I just remember having her in my arms. All I could picture was the same image of Angelica when she was dying. He cries and Dim reminds him that he brought her to the hospital and she is still alive. Carlotta walks up and tells the boys that she has been trying to get a hold of Ale to inform him but is unable to reach him. Dim tells Carlotta that Ale is running from the police. There is a warrant out for him. He is being accused of murdering his father to get his hands on his inheritance. JL confirms this and says Ale begged him to bring Montse and company to him safely. They were going to board an airplane to escape.

Captain Robledo and Lt. Monica are waiting to visit JL when he gets a call from Carlotta informing him that Montse has been shot. They don't know who did it. Captain Robledo says he's on his way. He leaves Lt. Monica in charge and leaves. The guard comes to get Lt. Monica to take her to see JL.

Esme goes to the club and tells her stripper friend that Refugio is still angry with her. Her friend thinks he'll get over but Esme finally understands his anger. She made him a promise and she broke it. Her friend thinks things will work itself out. They love each other. Esme keeps looking at her phone and tells her friend that she is waiting for a call from Dim. His sister is in the hospital. Maria overhears this conversation. She was shot and is dying. Maria stops pretending she's not listening and says poor Ale. He must be so upset.

The guard takes Lt. Monica to the visiting room where she finds herself face to face with Refugio. Where is JL shouts Lt. Monica.

Well JL is in the hospital with Dim. He says Maria came to pay him a visit in jail. Dim thought she left Aguazul but JL says she's closer then what we thought. Dim doesn't understand why Pedro wants to harm his sister. Because she helped Nadia escape replies JL. That man is crazy and will do anything to get revenge.

Amelia gets a visit from Pedro. What the heck are you doing in my house shouts Amelia. Pedro came to talk to Fabs and Sandro. He asks if it would bother her if he could wait for them? Of course shouts Amelia. Get the heck out of my house. Pedro tries to apologize for what happened with Joaquin. Amelia accuses him of turning his back on his lifelong friend when he needed him. Pedro says there was nothing he could do. He had to uphold the law. Amelia still can't wrap her head around the reason Joaquin would be a drug trafficker. Pedro says he couldn't believe it either. He thinks Ale was behind all this. Amelia doesn't believe him. Pedro offers to bring her proof that Ale was in partnership with Joaquin. Amelia agrees. Slimy Pedro takes Amelia's hand and says he understands everything that she is going through. Amelia begs to differ. Pedro says he just lost his wife and his child. But now I know that the child is not mine. My wife left me to run off with her lover.

Banging on the hacienda door. Macario and ranch hands look to each other. The police yell for them to open the door. Macario finally runs to open the door and EZ walks in like he owns the place. He orders for his men to look for them. Macario says they are not there anymore. They left awhile ago. EZ wants to know where but Macario lies and says he doesn't know. The turns to question the ranch hands and they claim they don't know either. EZ takes one of the men in custody. Macario hopes the ranch hand will not spill the frijoles.

Vic, Nadia and Ale are waiting on the tarmac. Vic just finished speaking with the pilot to get everything ready. Ale is pacing waiting for his family. The pilot is finally ready to leave and Vic tells Ale that Montse is not coming. Ale believes she will. Vic thinks JL saw the police and returned to Aguazul. Ale doesn't think so. Remember JL was his capataz and knows the land well. JL will find a way here I assure you. Ale wants Vic to give him his cell to call JL. Vic says he can't. The police will find out their location. He will only give it to him when they are in the air over the ocean.

Back in the operating room, the surgeons are frantically trying to save Montse's life.

Vic is ready to go and Ale asks for 5 more minutes. They suddenly hear the police sirens and Vic insists in leaving now. EZ urges the policemen to hurry up. They are escaping! The ranch hand begs EZ not to kill him. EZ cold cocks him with the back of the gun. They shoot at the plane and Vic urges the pilot to hurry. One of the bullets hits the wing as the plane starts to take off. EZ gets out of the car and keeps shooting but the plane is gone. Nadia and Vic are happy to have escaped while Ale is anguished.

Montse asks her dad what is happening. Lauro says the doctors have saved her life. It is time to say goodbye. She tells her dad that she loves him. I love you too replies Lauro.

In the air, Vic and Nadia are happy. Over the ocean Ale asks for the phone. Suddenly the pilot notices that the window is cracking and sees the leak.

Mother of the year Graceless tells Carlotta that Montse will lose everything. That bastard now cannot offer my daughter nothing. Carlotta wants to know where is all the love Graceless has for her daughter. Graceless says you can't eat off love. Carlotta says she's going for coffee. Graceless gets a call from Ale on Montse's phone. She tells Ale that Montse suffered a gunshot wound and the doctor's don’t' think she will make it. You killed my daughter you bastard. I hope you never return. Ale gets off the phone and tells Nadia and Vic that they killed his woman. Nadia starts to get hysterical and Ale orders the pilot to return. Vic tells him no. Suddenly alarms sound on the plane. The window shatters and they are going down. Ale begs Montse to forgive him. Nadia and Vic cling to each other. Ale remembers moments with Montse. They crash into the water.

Lauro tells Montse it's time to go. Montse wonders if she will remember this meeting. I don't think so replies Lauro. Memories can be fuzzy. Behind her walks up Ale startled. He asks Montse to forgive him. Lauro bids farewell. He has been waiting for Ale. Montse and Ale try to hold hands but can't. Montse wakes up from surgery. The doctor tells her that she will be okay.

Lt. Monica asks Refugio if he knows just how much trouble he is in. She just finished speaking with the warden and the guard that helped them has just been fired. She wants to solve this problem discreetly and without having to involve the police. They cannot make the marina look bad. Refugio says that JL will be returning. That is why I am here. JL left to take care of Montse. Lt. Monica says it all came to nothing. Unfortunately she was shot today. If you two hadn't done what they did behind the marina's back things would have been different.

The surgeon comes out to tell them that Montse will be okay. JL wants to see her but the doctor says perhaps in an hour. Dim thinks they should tell Captain Robledo what is going on. Perhaps he can place guards to watch over Montse. Carlotta suggests calling EZ and he can be in charge. JL says thanks but no thanks. He doesn't have any confidence in the police. JL asks if anyone has been able to speak with Ale. Of course Graceless lies and says he didn't call. Captain Robledo rushes up and sees JL. He says nothing and asks about Montse's health. Graceless says she's out of danger. Dim asks for some guards to watch over Montse and the captain agrees. He asks for a moment alone with JL and Dim. He wants to know how JL is out of prison and assumes that Dim helped him. JL says Dim has nothing to do with it. The captain wonders where Refugio is and JL says he stayed behind in his place. Dim laughs at this but the captain is not amused. The captain demands an explanation. JL says Maria came to visit him in prison. She told him that Pedro is offering a reward for Montse's life. I had to leave to protect her. The captain orders JL back to prison. JL says fine but I want to talk to Montse first. The captain orders him back and says Dim will keep him informed.

Rosario is with baby Lauro and finds out that Montse will be okay.

Lt. Monica is on the phone with Captain Robledo and says she took care of everything. Lt. Monica tells Refugio that Montse made it through and should be just fine. She says that the captain is on his way. Is he mad asks Refugio. You can just imagine replies Lt. Monica. She says a guard will take him back to his cell until JL arrives and they can make the exchange. Tomorrow they can talk about his punishment. Before she leaves, Refugio asks for a big favor.

Pedro is visiting with Fabs and Sandro. He tells them soon she will be able to gain her inheritance. She wonders if he will fight and prove that the will is a fake. Pedro doesn't think so. No one will believe him. Sandro wonders if they have issued a warrant for Ale's arrest yet. Of course replies Pedro. The problem is that Ale is trying to escape but I believe the police have him in custody. He receives a call from EZ. He finds out that Ale escaped in a plane with Vic and Nadia. EZ says he has noticed the federal government on the situation and if they land anywhere they will let him know.

Graceless tells Montse how much anguish she was in. Montse wonders why Ale is not there. Graceless says the police are looking for him. Dim says a warrant was issued for Ale's arrest. Montse wonders if Vic and Nadia where able to escape. Dim says that they were going to board the plane and that Ale wanted her to come along. Graceless says Ale left without her. Montse can't believe that he would do that. Not without her and the baby and Mama Rosario. Ale must be waiting for us. Carlotta says they can't get a hold of him. Graceless tells her to rest and get better. Montse asks for JL. She knows he was there. He had a gun in his hands and wanted to kill her.

JL comes back and the Refugio asks how Montse is doing. JL says she will live. The captain gets onto the boys for not confiding in him. All this tragedy could have been avoided if you had just told me. Refugio says there wasn’t' time. JL says they need to arrest Pedro but the captain says they have no proof. JL says Pedro wants revenge for Montse helping Nadia to escape with her lover. The captain vows to get to the bottom of this. Refugio wonders out loud if Maria made all this up. You know she hates Montse. The captain will start looking for her tomorrow.

Manana: Rosario fears something happened to her son, Dim brings the sad news about the plane crash.

Gloria:

Thanks so very much for this fabulous and detailed recap.

Ay, yi, yi, I didn't see this coming! I thought EZ would have aimed at the propellers of the airplane but he hit the fuel tank instead. There was an immediate flame and the heat cracked the window and blew out the windshield. I am crossing my fingers that they survive.

I am glad Monse is okay and will live. Yesterday, I thought the scene with Lauro and Monse was a bit eerie, but now it all makes sense. The Ale part though, gave me shivers.

This is the 10th epi and no Padre.

Poor JL, I hope in future he confides in El Capitan. I am glad El Capitan is gunning for Peddy, cause really he's the only one that can put a stop to him.

Graceless is beyond horrid. I have no words for all her evil! May the anvil strike her many, many times!

Did anyone notice the look in BM's eyes when she said that Ale would be so upset???? Her glazed look, like he is all mine now said it all.

Ewww, just ewww, about Peddy and Amelia. I so hope she isn't going there.

Thanks again Gloria for this most fantastic recap.

Gloria, thank you so much for getting this incredibly detailed recap up so quickly! Pretty darn amazing!

As for the story, I am speechless.

Gloria, this is just fabulous. I appreciate how carefully and completely you managed to capture everything that happened in this shocking episode.

Mads, do you really think that Alejandro can survive? Even with Lauro waiting for him on the other side? (Thanks for explaining what happened to the plane -- I didn't quite get all that, although I saw the bullet hit the wing.)

And since it was Lauro and not Padre Anselmo who was waiting for him, should we be hoping that the padre is still alive?

And who would have predicted that REFUGIO would say the only smart thing all night -- What if it was María who shot Montserrat?

Wow. I have absolutely no idea where this story is heading right now.

Thanks again, Gloria. This was a corker of a night and you did an amazing job posting the recap so quickly.

I don't know, Demetrios. A plane crash is a plane crash whether or not the fuselage or the propellers were shot.

The sudden deceleration is going to be the cause of injury. The extent of those injuries will depend upon whether or not the occupants of the plane were wearing their harnesses. The aircraft is going to absorb some of the forces of impact upon hitting the water, but when the aircraft collapses, this will also cause injury.

We also don't know the date of manufacture of the plane which would tell us something about the aircraft's ability to withstand gravitational forces.

Of course, this really means nothing in the long run because there will be some magikal, mystical happening here and they will all survive and end up on some island somewhere.

Yep, I think too darn much.

Fatima

I really cannot wait for the Devils anvil, its going to be huge.I do hope Ale ,Nadia and Victor live. And i believe the plane crash was minimized by Ezequel. If he shot the fuel tank the plane would explode immediatly and that would interfere with his plans he has with Pedro. If they have enough luck they will survive.Enemy would kill an enemy and Ezequel is free to rule. And i hope Amelia did not get any diseases from Sicko!

Gracie needs to be abandoned forever, like in Pasion

Gloria, thank you for your fabulous recap.

I liked Monte's near death experience first comforting but then turned creepy when Lauro says hw was just waiting for Lauro. That was well done. Montse can't catch a break anywhere not even in a near death experience!

As Ale, Victor and Nadia kept arguing about 15 more minutes, I am sure at least 15 minutes went by. What a group of dolts!

My favorite line was when Carlota told Graciela " Tu eres mas amarga que cafe". ( You are more bitter than coffee).

I am convinced that Graciela's crying has only been an act and feeling sorry for herself that her Montse bargaining chip might be gone. She was her usual obnoxious self when Montse regained consciousness.

The only hope is Robledo. Ezequiel remains a mystery me.

It will be interesting to see who sirvives the crash.

Jarifa

Thank you for this fast recap Gloria, it was especially for filling in about the plane, my DVR had to reboot in the middle and I missed what EZ did with the plane. Thank's for explaining the bitter coffee!

Man, the Highway to Heaven was like Grand Central Station last night. My question is, why did Lauro come to get Ale and not the late Padre Anselmo (who they made a point of telling us Friday in a flashback how the Padre was a father to Ale).
I had an Epiphany. We can come to several conclusions, among them:

1. The people passing there on their way to Eternity weren't all going to the same destination as the Padre. Oh My.

OR, more likely,

2. Padre Anselmo wasn't there, because he's not dead!

On another note, interestingly, I see there are three camps about Graceless's surprising reaction to Monse being shot.

1. Some of us, me included, think the reaction was real-not faked, real anguish and sorry, but stemming from a narcisstic fear/rage reaction because she considers Monse and extension of herself, this was underlined when she grabbed Dim when he got to the hospital and crooned, "don't leave me don't leave me" NOT FAKE. REAL. But this shows you how enmeshed she is with her kids.

2. Another camp thinks she is acting grieved and doing it well but is faking, not as unhappy as she seems. Manipulation. (Could be)

3. Camp 3-she's not faking, has a real mother's grief for her kids under all that bitter café. (I find this the most doubtful).

Does the exiting of Sebastian Rulli mean that they wanted the TN to continue but hey already had him scheduled for filming another TN? Anyone hear anything about this?
No doubt Grace will not give the phone with the last message from Ale to Monse, so she will continue to distrust JL. ? No spoilers, but any thoughts on this?
OK, I'll stop hogging the floor-have to get to work, anyway. What an episode, thanks again Gloria.

Good work, Gloria. This was a disturbing episode.

I do not believe that Alejandro is dead. I think he's having a near-death experience whose timing is not shown effectively here. If Lauro is waiting for him I think he's looking to absolve him from guilt about his heart attack.

I'm sure, as someone mentioned yesterday, that Monserrat won't get to see the video message Alejandro left for her. I'm also sure that when Alejandro tries to reach her from where he ends up Gracie will prevent him doing so. She doesn't give a flying damn about their relationship.

I'm still waiting to find out what she spent so much money on or whether she was socking it away in offshore accounts.

Magnificent Gloria. Gees, such "drama". I think Robledo summed it up for me with everyone....if ONLY you had told me. Secrets, secrets. Always the hole that sucks everyone in until the end.

I pretty much stick with my summation yesterday about Graceless...her anguish is all about her kids as her means to an end. She needs them, sure, but to have to do whatever she wants so HER life is better, which as any decent parent knows is the opposite of our thinking for our kids. That's not love, that's sorrow over ownership being lost.

Not sure about Vic and Nadia, but I would bet my bottom dollar Ale survives. Now, we could get the tired amnesia plot, or perpetual man on the run, or some such plot point to move us to seeing a whole different couples dynamic for the next round of episodes.

But for the sake of drama, my guess is everyone thinks all three don't make it. And to be able to see Maria's face when she finds out she lost again, and this time for good (she thinks)...priceless. ( and writers....for the love of all that is holy...do not make a survived Ale in whatever state he's in appear and spend his next round of life with that BSC woman. )

Padre is alive. Think that vision pretty well sealed that. But where is he??

Loved the JL/Dim handshake.

Daisynjay

I suspect that the padre is in a monastery right now. That would be the safest place for him.

EZ will eventually hear that Maria visited JL in the slammer and he won't be happy about it. When Adolfo hears about this he might realize that Maria is the one who shot Monse. However, my money says he won't do anything about it or even tell anyone.

Well, I wasn't expecting that! I'm referring to the crash and edge of the seat events of last night.

Gloria, I always expect a sensational recap though from you and once again you have delivered it perfectly.

What emotion your carefully chosen words generate: "Ale begs Montse to forgive him. Nadia and Vic cling to each other. Ale remembers moments with Montse. They crash into the water." Excellent!

Also, thank you for providing the touching dialog between Monse and her father: “She can't remember the last time she had a kiss from him. Our love is a big hug that lasts for eternity replies Lauro. You left thinking the worst of me replies Montse but Lauro says she is his princess and he knew her better then anyone”.

Umm “If you two hadn't done what they did behind the marina's back things would have been different”. I disagree Monica! JL was clearly the only one at the scene of the shooting who took charge and ensured Monse got to the hospital. I fear there might have been a different outcome with stunned reactions and not much action except wailing, crying and gnashing of teeth from Carlotta, Rosario and Graciela.

Madelaine, I can’t imagine anyone surviving that crash but I would think Ale likely survives as he is essential to the plot, with likely an amnesia story arc waiting in the wings (pure speculation only but I see you also agree daisy). I am far less confident about Vic and Nadia’s fate.

NovelaMaven: “And since it was Lauro and not Padre Anselmo who was waiting for him, should we be hoping that the padre is still alive?” Yes, exceptional reasoning! We can only fervently hope that is the case.

E-marie, “Camp 3-she's not faking, has a real mother's grief for her kids under all that bitter café”. Well said! Oh, and count me in as a Camp 3 member please! :)

This is really getting good - can't wait to see what happens tonight.

Thanks again Gloria!

Diana

Alejandro will survive but I'm betting he will have to kiss that little briefcase goodbye.

Emarie, from a psychological standpoint, I think your Point #1 makes very good sense.

All I can say is that this TN is going to be one long haul. I guess we are looking at several months in the doldrums. At least, one would think so.

Emarie, I see we are on the same page re the question about Rulli possibly being needed for another TN. I think that possibility is remote given all of the publicity they have done for this TN, but it is a good question nonetheless.

I wish Jarocha would check in and give us a Mexico update!!

Fatima

Thanks for this detailed straightforward recap, Gloria. Well done.

I wasn't terribly surprised by the plane crash. In TNs, planes crash. What surprised me was that Alejandro was aboard.

Even I found María's glassy stare and her utterance, "Poor Alejandro, he must be desperate," both creepy and chilling. Yikes!

So the guard that JL bribed was fired? Wow, what a harsh punishment. And Refugio is returning to work, his punishment to be decided later? Isn't he already serving a suspension?

I loved that it was Refugio who figured out that it might be Maria who shot Montse. This is the same guy who, when sent to get the maid so JL could convince her to let him see Montse, confronted Montse instead, but didn't bother to tell her that JL was wanting to talk to her. He's grown.

Last night the writers reshuffled the deck. For once I have no inkling of what might happen next.

UA, I like the idea of Padre Hook being in a monastery, but I have a difficult time seeing how he would go along with Zeke's plan... or allow his chickens to perish.

Carlos

There is no way Sebastian Rulli would be out of this series. Televisa would never risk the ratings disaster that would happen, especially with the chemistry he has with Angelique Boyer.

EZ probably told the padre that someone would take care of the chickens. However, I'm sure that EZ got a cadaver hand from the county morgue. A man Padre Anselmo's age wouldn't recover easily from that kind of an amputation.

What makes me sad about those poor chickens, let alone the Padre's disappearance, is that in that community that he serves, no one and I mean NO ONE thought it strange he wasn't around? Not serving a mass, not checking in with those he helped regularly, came to ask for guidance...

As for him abandoning them,he could very well have had no choice himself as EZ could have taken him straight to safety with no ability to check in back home. And EZ making promises of taking care of things, but of course not doing it. Man doesn't care about human life if it suits him, why would he care about a few chickens. Double agent or no.

Fatima:

If the pilot is not injured by that glass that imploded into the cockpit, that plane will not necessarily drop from the sky. The pilot said, before the windshield broke, he was losing pressure. There is a way to coast that plane, much as Capitan Sullenburger did, and land in the water much like a glider. This plane crash could be survivable, depending on the speed of the aircraft as it enters the water. I too over think these TNs : )

NovelaMaven:

The bullet did hit the wing, but the fuel is in the wing in this type of small aircraft.

The man should have been shooting blanks. He should have delayed a bit longer as well to allow Nadia to escape from Pedro.

Pedro would be difficult to manage no matter the outcome of this situation.

What a tension packed episode, but you summarized everything that happened exceptionally Gloria.

Favorite was "Ale tells Vic that he will get BSC if he tries to leave without his family. Vic doesn't care." They definitely spent too much time arguing back and forth. Just five minutes less could have allowed for a clean get away. So frustrating!

And speaking of the getaway, how many bullets did EZ have in that gun?! He was shooting non-stop. In my eyes he continues to show that he is a cold-blooded killer, just like Pedro. Hopefully word of this gets back to Carlotta to halt that wedding.

Loved the scene with Montse and her dad. I think she needed that to know that her dad's love had not changed for her at the moment of his death. But I was caught quite off guard with Ale's entrance. Emarie, liked your theory of the Padre being still alive if Lauro was the one waiting for Ale. Also like your idea, Urban, that Ale is not dead but needs absolution from Lauro's death. He just can't be dead yet.

As for the video, I think that Gracie had more to gain by showing Montse the video than not. Right now she thinks the worst of JL, even thinking he is the one who shot her. If she sees the video, she won't hold a grudge against JL and thinking Ale is dead, what a better way for Gracie to push her daughter into JL's arms and get her hands in his money.

Maricruz

Madelaine,

The pilot was ascending and not yet at altitude. Is that correct? That is what I gather from the recap. I haven't seen the episode, yet, to identify the aircraft, but he would not have had it on autopilot while ascending to final altitude.

Again, I am assuming (because I have not yet seen the episode), that the plane was ascending and not yet at altitude, so the question of losing pressure at say 5,000 feet is not real and another one of those "made up" jobs on the part of the writers.

Were they already at altitude? Were they above 12,000 feet? The make and model of the plane would determine whether or not the cabin was pressurized. Early model Beech Bonanza's (single engine aircraft) can easily go up to 12,000 feet in their unpressurized cabins. Above that level, oxygen by mask is required.

If the pilot is knocked unconscious and if he were ascending to altitude and there was no one to regain control of the aircraft, the plane would go into a stall. IF someone else on the plane had practice controlled stalls, they would know how to correct the stall.

The non-pilot on the plane who does not know the capabilities/limitations of their aircraft is not necessarily going to do the right thing when it comes to correcting the stall. Learning how to correct a stall is done by practicing many times over a controlled stall. The first time you do it, it is not a comfortable feeling.

The damage to the plane will be due to gravitational forces on the plane; the plane's weight, altitude, and speed.

This crash will be survivable because it is a TN, but not every aircraft in distress can just glide down and coast to safety.

Captain Sully Sullenberger is a pilot extraordinaire. He made the unimaginable look easy, but he did it because of his brilliance unmatched skills.

Ok, now time for this empathic wimp to shut up.

Fatima

Gloria - I'm in awe of how you covered all the action so smoothly. Thanks a bunch.

I'm so proud of Refugio. His suspecting Maria was the only bright spot last night. Urban, I'm hoping JL will finally get the illogic of Maria dressing like Monse if Monse has a bullseye on her back.

My guess is the pilot will somehow coast the plane, in a deserted jungle with no phones. Got my fingers crossed there's no amnesia. Hope Nadia doesn't lose the baby. The pilot probably won't make it though since he's the only one among them trained in emergencies.

Some of Angelica's last words to Monse were about JL standing in as a father to Laurito if something should happen to Ale. I thought that was foreshadowing at the time, but didn't think it would happen so soon. I'm sure Ale will survive, but the question is how soon will Monse find out?

At least Monse's shooting will delay Tia marrying EZ.

Fatima:

Correct, correct, correct! Are you a pilot? I fixed them and investigated, I have flown in a back seat of an F-4. I have never flown a small plane.

Gloria, thanks so much for the recap. Add me to the list of those who think the writers have really stirred the pot and I have no idea what to expect, like Ale in that plane crash.

Graceless will have a very ignoble end. She's like a vampire.

I'm also shocked Refugio was the one who said Maria may have shot Montse.

Gloria, great recap! As Carlos stated, the deck has been reshuffled. It's possible Nadia and Victor will be gone, but maybe not.
I'm thinking a spell of amnesia for Ale.
I did like Montse's encounter with Lauro and the way he reassured her.

The scene on my DVR tape showed the airplane diving into the sea with a fire trail. I totally missed the part with EZ shooting at the wing or anything inside of the plane and didn't know that everyone had boarded the plane until i read it in Gloria's marvelous recap, because I has to reboot my box. But it makes sense they would no more kill off Ale than they would Monserrat since they are the stars

They'll have to do some fancy writing to overcome it but they have done it before, like the old guy in Eva Luna

Thanks for the amazing recap!

So are we taking bets on who, if anyone survives? I think Vic is the most expendable character and the drama that would come with Nadia carrying the baby of her dead love seems to good to pass up. So I'm thinking Ale and Nadia survive.

The joy to see Maria suffer! My only worry is that she will tear up the real will just to make sure Montse doesn't get anything!

I'm glad Rosario was on hand at the shooting. At least she will tell Montse the truth that JL didn't shoot her. And surprise, surprise, Refugio is connecting dots.

Really want Pedro to suffer but how long must we wait! I'm tired already.

Also, I know some of you want the Padre to be alive but I hope he isn't bec it makes no sense to me story wise why EZ would leave him alive. He has more info to hurt EZ than he does Pedro.

Fatima, you are impressive. I can't decide whether I should start thinking of you as our polymathic empath or our empathic polymath. Wow.

Of course we all know that the fate of the plane and its passengers and pilot will be determined by what the writers cook up for us, and not by any real world constraints.

Personally, I would enjoy Ale The Friendly Ghost coming back as a benign spirit who is visible only to Montserrat (or maybe to a select few, including Rosario and José Luis). He could go everywhere, hear everything, and guide the scoobies to free Aguazul from the tyranny of Pedro NoNuts.

Carlos, maybe Padre Hook is hidden in one of those cells in the Presidencia. EZ has used them before for his own purposes.

Niecie, I'm hoping that everyone's agreement that the police -- including EZ -- are not to be trusted will give Carlota pause. In any case, the wedding is not for another six months, I believe (time enough for tía to lose 'unos cuantos kilos,' as Montse assured her.)

As for Graciela, I don't doubt the reality of her grief when she saw her daughter shot and believed her life was in danger. But even in that moment, she was still a monster. Look at how she treated Rosario. [I believe that suffering ennobles only those who have the right stuff to begin with. But that is a whole other discussion.]

P.S. Is anyone else getting the feeling that Lt. Monica is an alumna of the Blanca Soto Academy of Dramatic Arts?

NovelaMaven: I just gave a huge belly laugh at "P.S. Is anyone else getting the feeling that Lt. Monica is an alumna of the Blanca Soto Academy of Dramatic Arts?".

That was simply great!

Diana

hee hee, Diana. She DOES excel at Striking Poses and Yelling, both part of the core curriculum of the Academy. Or so I have heard.

I, for one, would not be all that distraught if Ale wandered off with Lauro to the great hereafter. He is not my favorite character. I can do without his ragemonster tendencies. I wouldn't miss Nadia and Victor all that much, either. I'm voting for Dimitrio and Josefina to become the new main stars of the show! And that's only mostly because I'm shallow and find Dim way better looking than Alejandro, not entirely.

The only reason I really want Ale to survive is so that Pedro's plan doesn't succeed.

But since the galanes of telenovelas almost never die, I hope Ale, Victor, Nadia, and the pilot all end up in a Swiss Family Robinson scenario on some island for a long time. Maybe Nadia could finally develop one or two skills other than the ability to execute a plodding version of Moonlight Sonata. And I hope they never let Ale forget that the whole situation is his fault for stalling and fighting about leaving.

Maricruz, I wondered the same thing about EZ's ability to shoot and shoot and shoot, apparently without ever needing to stop and reload.

Gloria, thanks ever so much for the excellent recap.

I agree about the new Teniente and her Blanca Soto Academy training! Every time she was on the screen I wanted to tell her to take it down a notch. Honey, you're trying way too hard!

"Blanca Soto Academy of Dramatic Arts"

Oh, you just cheered up my work-dreary day with that one NM! Yeah, not so stellar so far. The actress may be over compensating trying to portray a woman in man's world, but I agree, few pegs down would work.

Thinking of all the survival scenarios, I keep having Sortilegio flashbacks. Will we get shirtless romping on a deserted beach? Nadia maybe breaking a couple fingernails? Actually, I prefer Vic coming out of this alive more than Nadia if I have to choose one. I hold to the belief Ale makes it, probably stranded somewhere, by the time he gets rescued and tried to get word to Monse, she'll have moved on to JL thinking he died....no spoiler, but a nice cliched plot line that every writer of a love triangle knows the plot for. Essentially, the main plot is the love triangle, so I expect we get that back and forth to the very end.

Hopefully the side plots ( I want Fina back!) and FABS getting her mitts on the inheritance will be interesting enough to add angst of Monse losing Ale, Ale lost, JL slobbering to get back with Monse...ok, I'm turning myself off this show. Better stop.

Daisynjay

While I have no basis for these speculations, I think the pilot is dead, perhaps Vic and Nadia survive, definitely Alex does. (As for Padre Anselmo, I thought he was dead but viewer comments suggest he may be alive.)
Remember: the Evil Force in this TN universe is strong: Pedro, Graciela, Maria, EZ, Sandro and Fabiola up against the the Good Force: Alex, Monse, JL, Rosario, Refugio, Dimitri, Captain R, and possibly Victor, Nadia and Fr. Anselmo. but last three may have gone to their reward. I definitely think we are in the phase of the Empire Strikes Back. But Viewerville patiently waits for The Return of the Jedi -- perhaps in the last episode. Writers: please don't let this story degenerate the way CI did.

NovelaMaven, I too LOLd at you "P.S. Is anyone else getting the feeling that Lt. Monica is an alumna of the Blanca Soto Academy of Dramatic Arts?" We will know for sure if she ever pulls one of Blanca Soto/Alma's famous noogiefists! ;-D
Maricruz

sorry NM, I meant "your"
Maricruz

Thanks, Gloria, for this excellent recap of a surprising episode.

You guys...Thanks for the smiles and giggles. NM... I think that you are correct about Monica graduating from the B.S. academy. By the way, I could swear that I saw Blanca in a hair color commercial on a U.S. channel. Julia..Swiss Family Robinson is a possibility...or perhaps Gilligan's Island. I am sure that the folks back in BlueWater will think that everyone on that plane perished, but some or all will have survived. Ale and VIk will have to deliver Nadia's baby...yikes. Everyone will lose weight from a diet of bananas and coconuts. In the meantime, Mony will marry JL with some coaxing from BadMama to provide a stepdad for little Larry. Ped may hunt for a new trophy wife thinking that Nadia is dead.

I am quite sure that Padre Hook is somewhere worrying about his flock...and his flock of chickens, too.

Fatima...I am curious. are you a pilot or perhaps an engineer or a frequent and knowledgeable flyer ? I am an infrequent...and nervous flyer who tries not to think about flying .

I hope that when anyone who survives the plane crash makes their way back to Aguazul, they have the sense to stay hidden and/or in disguise and let Pedro continue to think they are dead, the better to take him down.

Also, could Robledo please bug Pedro's office? And tap his phones? I'm ready for him to drop and a new villain to step in.

Gloria: thanks for the great recap. I know I'll be back to watching full time, at the latest, during Ultimas Semanas, so appreciate the recaps to keep me up-to-date.

Julia: "And I hope they never let Ale forget that the whole situation is his fault for stalling and fighting about leaving."--THANK YOU!!

I may have made this comment before, but put me in the camp with the Gracie being sincere about her grief over what happened to Montserrat.

Also want to comment about the good casting job they did with cute, little Ale, physically speaking. I can see him growing up to be big, stupid Ale.

Nanette

...growing up to be big, stupid Ale....teehee.

Gloria, thanks for the awesome recap!

Sadly, I am swamped at work and have no time to comment the way I would like.

I think Ale survives, not sure about Nadia and Vic. Pretty sure PadreA is among the living. Awesome comments everyone!

Back to work...hasta pronto!

Gloria, what a wonderful action-packed (albeit a bit creepy with the out of body experiences left unexplained) follow-up to Tuesday's episode. You are at the top of my list for fast paced action reporting.

We all knew, deep down inside, didn't we, that the escapees weren't going to get away unscathed. It did seem like the plane made a fairly decent descent. But, as you said, Fatima, Ale's pilot is no Capt. Sully. Hope all is well below and everyone knows how to swim.

If they were *forced* to extend the story, this is probably where it works best, a loooooong separation between Ale and Montse. I hope this is more a Sortilegio-type abandonment on a desert island incommunicado (with a nod to Daisynjay for mentioning it first), and not an Siempre Tuya Acapulco where the novia immediately makes plans to marry the supposedly deceased brother (other things are in play, but you get my point). I fear JL will try to insert himself into Montse's life, but maybe he'll have to stay in jail some time longer after his "unscheduled" release.

Notez Bien--If there are some of you who didn't get to read Carlos' inside view of the operators in the operating room late in yesterday's comments, do so. Worthwhile reading before it gets too old.

Wonder what that favor was that the Lady Lt. asked of Refugio. We didn't get to hear. Besides maybe trying too hard, she's trying to portray a straight-arrow military soul and has never actually met one she could copy.

Daisyinjay--my point, too. Yes, Padre was at home when Addled came to get him, but EZ might have taken him straight to a secure location from his supposed execution spot, without letting him go back home, thus the dead chickens. And Yes, Carlos, EZ could have, should have come back by and picked up the chickens and had a nice Sunday chicken stew.

UA--about EZ shooting blanks. He had other guys with him so he couldn't very well not set a good example. But he might have tried to not aim very well. OTOH, he didn't know where the plane was going or whether he'd ever get any of those folks back to either testify against Pedro or get a feather in his cap for successful prosecutions.

NM--Oh for shame making us recall anything about the Lt. having attended Blanca Soto's Academy of acting abilities. (Know everyone that I make an exception for Eva Luna--I liked her in that one).

Dear Gloria, Thanks so much for an excellent recap of a very exciting episode! I didn't get to watch the show last night until later today, but I really enjoyed your recap when I read it. Thanks again! Julia R.

Teniente Monica wouldn't be the first to go on to an illustrious career of bland scenerychewing after graduating from the B.S. Academy. Fernando Colunga seemed to be really putting his learning there to work in Porque El Amor Manda. So much smarm and emoting-by-number and excessive poise in a previously likeable actor.

Just to add to the speculations; Pedro was planning to kill Victor and Nadia if necessary. He seems also to be laying out to maybe get Amelia; AND he told her already that the baby is not his, so now he can't pretend it is his, kinda burning his bridges already.

I think I saw Blanca on Gilligan's Island. Oh, that was Ginger.
Poor Nadia, may have to give birth on the island with no Professor.

Loved Carlos' and Anita's comments about the surgery yesterday, too, too funny.

Fortunately for Nadia, Ale and Victor are both old ranch hands, so they must have helped with calves and foals being born many times. She'll be fine! They have months to figure out how to find or create any supplies they'll need!

Julia....Funny you should mention that. When Hub and I were dating , we went to my friend's farm to pick her and her boyfriend up to go to the movies. However, a cow was trying to give birth to a calf. Since her parents were not home, Hub and her beau had to deliver the calf. They were quite proud as they assured us that they now had experience and could deliver any future babies we might have. Not.

Thanks so much, Gloria, for the great recap. I am out all week so I cannot get to my computer during the day so please forgive my tardy arrival to our little party.

I have to go catch up on the last several capitulos so that I can recap tomorrow night.

Yikes!

Thanks again for keeping me up with the unlikely goings on in Aguazul.

EJ
