Lo Que La Vida Me Robo #182: 7/25/14: Will This Story Go Round In Circles, Hmmmmmm!!!!!!!!

Ahoy Amugis! Where is everyone? Are Y'all in the Bunker? Come on out and have some conchas and cafe au lait and join me as I give the dish on our ongoing saga in Aguazul. I also have some levity for Y'all. We have alot of grammar nerds here and so I have found the perfect earworm for you, Word Crimes!

Shall we begin. I am starting with the new and skipping the old

Ale and his posse come to confront JL. Ale accuses, JL denies and now it's a fight to the death by, are you ready, fisticuffs! So as Ale's posse, that would be Dimi and Vapid Victor (Thanks Carlos), and Refug on the side lines trying to keep the posse at bay, so it looks like a fair fight, the fisticuffs begin. Oh, and I think Vapid Victor has got a piece (gun) on him too. Que, Que What? Lots of rolling on the ground, the postion of being on top changes, both are bloodied. We'll get back to them in a tic.

After Carly (Carlotta) has given EZ tea and sympathy, and gone off to the marital bedroom, EZ goes to find her and oopsy, there is Peddy with a gun to Carly's head. Since Peddy beleives in complete privacy, no noise in other words, has EZ close the bedroom door. He informs them Profiro and Manuela are tied up, and Peddy's men are there as a back up for Peddy, things are not looking good. Peddy is pithed cause EZ has the cajones, to still be alive along with his fat wife. So now Peddy aims the gun at EZ and wants EZ to tell Carly the truth about who EZ really is. Since EZ lacks cajones as bad as Peddy in reality lacks them, Peddy tells Carly the truth, EZ is a narcotrafficante isn't that right? And he dares EZ to deny it to his wife. Carly doesn't beleive it. EZ finally admits it and Carly looks like she wants to hurl. Peddy also advises EZ if he thinks he is getting cute and kills Peddy, his men outside will take care of both of them, make no mistake. Peddy now gives EZ a choice. He wants EZ to choose who dies this evening, either EZ or Carly, EZ gets to pick! EZ of course begs for his life. While Carly and EZ cry and beg, Peddy calls EZ a rat and a coward, well it takes one to know one, jus' sayin'. Peddy is also saying that EZ is mediocre and has no education, while EZ is down on the floor licking or kissing Peddy's shoes! EZ is swearing his fealty to Peddy. Now Peddy wants all of EZ's dinero, but I think EZ said he had invested some of it. EZ has a minitue to decide who dies. EZ now cries those crocodile tears and begs Carly's forgivesness, she is begging him not to abandon her and EZ takes off running, leaving Carly to the mercy of Peddy. May a pox befall EZ! We'll get back to them. Oh, and Peddy's men have killed all of EZ's security guys.

The cadre of womenfolk, that would be Rosy, Monse and PBN are all worried for their menfolk over there at JL's. PBN (Poor Blind Nadia) gets Monse to check on the kids and has a chat with Rosy. Rosy is pithed that JL is so impossible, PBN puts her two pesos in and says remember that JL is Romina's Papi, and by the same token that Ale is Laurito's Papi.

Now back to the Peddy hostage taking scene. Peddy is giving Carly whatfor and asks her how exactly she thought EZ was making his dinero? Trafficking drugs that's how! Peddy also gives her whatfor for falling for such a mediocre guy, and points the gun at poor Carly's head, he calls her stupid and wishes her a good night, but not before he , oh, my eyes, my eyes, he kisses Carly. He leaves her and she is wiping her mouth. Quick Carly get the super, duper strength Listerine.

The first thing Carly does is call Dimi and tells him what happened. This finally stops the fisticuffs, and there will be a rematch to the death, name the time and place. Ale and his posse go while Refug stays to have a, er, a word with JL. JL accuses Refug of betraying him and Refug says he always thought that JL was innocent, but not in this case, the Monse accident. Well, JL don't need no back up and so he can get the hell out. Refug goes.

Maneula and Profiro get themselves loose and Carly is yelling for them. Not to serve her you understand, but to be sure they are okay. Now Carly (Carlotta) calls Monse and tells her all about EZ and Peddy, and how EZ hot footed it and that EZ never really loved her. She tells Monse that Peddy is indeed alive and that he almost killed her. Monse wants to run over to her Tia's but Carly tells her to wait.

At Escondida, the only strip joint in Aguazul, BM is working the chair and EZ kinda sorta sneaks in. BM sees him though. EZ hot foots it to Esme's dressing room and tells her he needs her help. BM has snuck outside the room and is listening in. He explains to Esme that Peddy is alive and that Carly is dead. Where is his anvil???? He needs a place to stay. Esme wonders about why he hasn't called the authorities. Well there is the Navy he says. EZ claims he loved Carly so very much, gag! BM of course has heard every single word.

Ale and the posse have arrived at Carly's and Monse isn't far behind. Monse is worried about all the blood on Ale's shirt and Carly thinks maybe Peddy did this. Nopis. Carly explains that EZ ran out on her and left her to die by Peddy's hand, and that EZ has been working with Peddy. EZ has pulled the wool over everyone's eyes and is a coward.

In a bedroom a woman named Guady (Gracie) is talking to Rosy. Guady wants to be fed and Rosy will get right on that. Guady tells Rosy, she won't have to wait on her long, she'll be dead in a year, please if it's true she has a tumor, couldn't it be sooner! Rosy has a suggestion for Guady, how about working on getting that forgiveness from her children before she leaves this Earth? Now Guady wants to know where Monse is. Rosy fills her in on the Carly/Peddy situation and of course Guady thinks to herself too bad Carly is still alive. Anvil toute de suite please!

BM uses her communications skills, hey they are better than her dancing skills, and calls Addled. She tells him that EZ is there in Escondida and wants the Navy. BM says she is doing Addled a solid like he did for her.

Refug goes to see Esme at Escondida and she tells him about EZ and his wanting protection from the Navy. Refug is flabbergasted.

Monse and Ale are at home and they have a chat. Ale thinks EZ is filth and the Patio nods. Monsie is worred that EZ went to Escondida. Ale is glad that Carly is well rid of that parasite. Now Monse wants to know if Ale went to confront JL. Of course he did. Monse warns Ale that it wouldn't be good to kill JL, cause he is Romina's Papi and Godfather to Laurito, and how is that gonna look, if Ale kills JL and Monse has to explain that to the kids. Ale just wants JL out of thier lives and he still thinks that JL is Peddy's little helper. Okay I am gonna stop right here. Does anyone know what assuming really is. I'll show you. Assume makes an ASS/U/ME, get it? There is alot of assuming going on here. Monse is agreeing with Ale now, cause well, JL wants venganza as much as Peddy does.

Meanwhile, JL is on the lonely, moonlit beach, drinking his mescal, and thinking happy thoughts of his days with Monse, when they actually talked to each other and didn't assume much! Peddy suddenly appears like your worst nightmare and asks JL just how his venganza is going? We'll get back to them in a tic.

Dimi comes to Escondida and along with Refug confront EZ, and Dimi cold cocks EZ. Refug has to pull him off of EZ. EZ is informed that Carly is alive and not dead as EZ had assumed. EZ laughs and calls Dimi a coward for not saving Monica. Now EZ tells them that Admiral Robeldo had gotten him iron clad immunity with a change of identity and a free ticket out of the country. The cherry on top for this help is that he can give them EL Alacran to boot!

Back to Peddy and his henchies. Peddy wants an alliance with JL. JL pulls a gun on Peddy and tells him hellz noes! Peddy dares JL to shoot. JL as drunk as he is, still knows the difference between a criminal and a good guy, and calls Peddy a criminal. Peddy seems to think if they teamed up their Venganza Agenda would be over quicker. JL tells Peddy he is only seeking venganza against Ale not Monse. JL also informs Peddy he knows all about his lack of avacadoes, cajones, whatevs. But Peddy says this isn't the only reason he wants to destroy Ale. JL tells Peddy they will never be friends and he wants to be alone. Peddy reminds JL there is Romina to think of. Peddy and his henchies go, leaving a very drunk JL.

Addled shows up at Escondida and asks EZ if he is needing some help. Dimi insists that Addled leave and Dimi assures Addled that Nadia and the familia are okay. EZ wants to go to the Navy Base.

Addled is now with BM. He says EZ is a coward and BM thinks that EZ will destroy Addled. Addled is very worried that Fina will find out the truth about him, but he doesn't know what to do now.

Dimi and Refug are arguing about protecting EZ. Dimi doesn't wanna do it, but Refug reminds him that the Admiral gave EZ this immunity. He also reminds Dimi they need that El Alacran info that EZ has.

Meanwhile, BM is trying to seduce the Navy guards to let her in the room where EZ is. They don't budge, but she promises them a private dance, I think, laterz and they let her in. She goes to the armoire in there and leaves a note, that as soon as she goes, EZ gets. I didn't catch what was in the note, I don't know if it was for EZ or Addled. Someone please fill in. EZ rips up the note just as Dimi and Refug come back in, slap the cuffs on EZ and provide him escort to the Navy Base.

Rosy has gone to see the Padre. Padre says it isn't good news about Guady or Carly. Padre wants some good news. Rosy really hasn't any, but the Padre does. He tells her about Kevin, how he is fifteen and made his way from the frontera to find his Papi Mac. As a matter of fact, Padre wants Monse to meet Kevin, it involves bidnez. Padre says he is a good kid. Rosy is surprised. Rosy helps the Padre down the steep Church steps and Ale is walking up to meet his Mama, when all of a sudden, this black SUV comes out of nowhere. Ski masked wearing men assault the Padre, they are surely going to hell, and grab Rosy, as Ale desperately tries to get there in time to stop the kidnap. Ale is too late and the SUV takes off with Rosy inside. Ale tells the Padre he beleives this is Peddy's handiwork.

Avances:

Rosy is in peril.

Ale confronts JL once again.
On a side note: I would love to thank everyone for the warm welcome back. I have missed Y'all muchly. The reason I was not here, is because my beautiful, wonderful Auntie, she was also my Godmother, passed away on July 6th. I was taking care of arrangements and her affairs. She was like a Mother to me. My beautiful Mama passed away many years ago and my Auntie was always there for me. We had this little tradition, my Auntie and I. Whenever I needed her sage advice or just wanted to visit, she would make me a cafe au lait, in the French manner. I have now been drinking them every morning to not only remember her, but because she had such joie de vivre. I am very happy to be back.

Good Morning Y'all,

I am a bit behind. Please discuss as I craft a purse, er a recap for this epi ; )

Madelaine, amiga, it is great to see you back! We can't wait for your silk purse. :))

Oh Madeline, SO happy you are back!

What a perfect earworm. Weird Al was the light touch so desperately needed this morning. A great way to start the day.

On a brief but serious note, I couldn't watch many of last night's scenes. Seeing Pedro's gun in far too close proximity to both EZ and Carlota's heads was sickening. Thought it was one of the grimmest episodes of any TN I've seen.

I'm fairly certain Fatima and Judy were joining me in the bunker along with others.

Looking forward to your recap.

Diana

I am truly afraid for Rosario. She had such a hard life before the curtain went up on this story, suffered the loss of her son again for seven years, and now could end up dead. That conversation she had with Monse while they were cooking really bothered me.

If the writers dare to kill Rosario I will stop watching the second she dies.

Thank you in advance Madelaine. I'm sure you will bring levity to a grim epi, that I am sure of. Oops! Did I just dangle a participle?

I really thought Pedro would shoot Carlotta. But since he did not, I really don't believe he'll kill Rosario.

I've hated EZ for quite some time but last night when he ran out on Carlotta I wanted to kill my TV.

I have one foot in the bunker and am counting the days for this to be over. One thing kind of fun about it is my desire for whom gets the biggest anvil changes daily...

Madelaine, Thanks for the light-hearted earworm. Weird Al brings sunshine with his parody - something this telenovela needs desperately.

EZ's behavior sickened me because I truly believed he loved Carlota. However, if he had loved her, he wouldn't have run out of the room. He would've taken the bullet for her. (I was also hoping that he would come back in the room with a gun, shoot Pedro, and save her. Alas, we have more episodes to go, and we can't get rid of the bad guy so easily.)

It was just a horrible episode - bleak, ugly, and violent, and I wish the TN would end. (I hated the slugfest between JL and Alejandro -- how stupid was that?!?) I should stop watching, but I've come this far, so I can't quit now.

Pedro better not kill Rosario. This TN doesn't need to get any darker.

Can't wait to read your recap, Madelaine!

I too can't wait to read your recap Madelaine. Glad you are back with us and loved this morning's earworm.

Last night was such a tense and stressful episode. I was on the edge of my seat and all I could think was, "c'mon Carlotta, you can take him! pin him down and take the gun away!" Truly dissapointed in EZ. Like you Tracy H., I too thought EZ had gone to find a gun to save Carlotta. What a coward.

Maricruz

Hi, Mads, I am looking forward to your take on this dismal mess.I have retreated to The Bunker. Between the fist fight that seemed to go on for the whole episode and dreadful Ped holding that gun to dear Tia's head while saying awful, hurtful things, my spirits just kept falling lower and lower. I, too, was waiting for EZ to come back into the room with a gun...but no...the creepy, little weasel

Exactly when dies this novela FINALLY end ? I am weary of the darkness and the angst. .

This TN is wearing on me. Some of these characters are too painfully similar to people that I have to deal with in real life. For the most part, it is very easy to separate the two issues, but sometimes, there are moments that can be quite difficult.

All I can do in those moments is change the channel. I keep thinking about all of the very thoughtful questions elna june asked yesterday.

I so very sincerely want to thank all of you lovely people for being here. You have no idea that sometimes, you are a refuge from a storm.

Looking so forward to your recap!!

Have we ever seen Pedro shoot someone? He seems to be a master at beating up people and of course manipulation but I cant remember him actually killing anyone? Am I misremembered?

Good Afternoon Y'all:

The recap is finally finished. Please let me know if I missed something and I will fix it. Enjoy this er, purse, if you can ; )

I wish Televisa hadn't decided to make this show longer...when the writers went off on their own tangent i stopped liking this show ..kinda after alejandro goes missing....thats where this show went way down south..i mean the fact that he was in a coma for 7 years was ridiculous and then montserrat running to the arms of jose luis and then sleeping with him again bleh that ruined it for me and on top of that she had a baby with jose luis...I mean if anyone saw Amor Real Manuel/alejandro is taken for dead aswell but he's really fighting in the war and he comes back a ROBS Matilde/Montserrat BEFORE she marries Adolfo/jose luis.....

Anon 1:50:

Actually this TN is based on Bodas de Odio, not Amor Real. Amor Real was the first remake of Bodas de Odio.

Thanks for the recap, Madelaine.

To answer your question about what BM's note to EZ said. She basically told him that Adolfito wants to help him and that he knew that EZ was wearing a bullet proof vest when he shot him. She also gives him info on Peddy's whereabouts if he chooses to negotiate with the Marines (Dimi, Refug etc).

The Mexican broadcast is airing the finale tomorrow, I believe. And I think it's #196.

EZ is such a coward. Even though nothing happened to Carlota, he pretty much left her to her fate. I don't think it'll be a good idea for Esme to help him. I'm curious as to how Dimi and Refug will handle this one.

So JL didn't help Peddy escape/live after all?

Madelaine, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your aunt. The cafe au lait is a wonderful way to remember her; a real tradition.

What an earworm! It lead me to Weird Al's new cd which I just purchased after forwarding the earworm link to many friends and family.

Thank you for a classic Madelaine recap complete with fun phrases like "super duper Listerine" and calling for the "anvils."

A fist fight to the death? Really? I was so glad when Ale was called away to end that nonsense.

Ezequel turned out to be the real cojónless wonder serving up Carlota on a platter so to speak

Graciela is just as much of a witch as ever. That crazy BM is just as nuts as ever.

Pedro and his posse sure are making the rounds. He has been so cruel, condescending and demeaning to everyone it was such a breath of fresh air listening to the drunk JL tell Pedro's henchmen that Pedro was indirectly castrated by Ale and that Pedro was cojónless.

I am hoping for another action filled episode to move this along and to see Rosario freed. I cannot see them killing such a beloved character

One episode closer to the final anvils and the end.

Jarifa

Madelaine, amiga, sending you waves of sympathy, empathy, support and hugs. I am so sorry about the loss of your Auntie. She sounds like a remarkable woman who loved and cherished life. How wonderful that you had each other. May she and your mother share many delicious cafe au laits together. We here on CarayCaray wrap our arms and hearts around you and will join you in a virtual one. God bless.

I'm not sure how you managed to lessen the sting of this depresssing episode but you did so perfectly.

"Since EZ lacks cajones as bad as Peddy in reality lacks them, Peddy tells Carly the truth..."; "EZ is down on the floor licking or kissing Peddy's shoes!"; "cadre of womenfolk" and...Anvil toute de suite please!" were among my favorites.

I am hanging my head in shame to think I ever had sympathy for EZ. What a sniveling coward. A monster. The kissing of Pedro's shoes had to be an all time low. As shocking and terrible as the events were for Carlota, she appeared to have her wits about her. I am proud of her and have no doubt she will pull through this. Mercifully.

"Does anyone know what assuming really is. I'll show you. Assume makes an ASS/U/ME, get it? There is alot of assuming going on here" was outstanding. I am in awe.

I did not understand about the note Maria left either.

I'm not even to comment on the JL/Ale playground fistfight. A madman in on the loose, and they are throwing punches while Refugio and Dimi waste precious time. Where is the urgency??

Yes, I am afraid for Rosario but think Pedro might well be saving his most terrible retribution for Fina and of course, Nadia.

Shall I dare to hope JL will sober up and put an end to this madness?? Who is going to save the day?

Madelaine, thank you for the superb recap.

Diana

Yes, no spoilers please.

Madelaine:

What a great and lively recap for an episode that seems to reflect that finally the show is winding down. I am so sorry to hear about your Auntie. I know what it’s like to lose one’s Mother at a young age and how lucky some of us are to have another female figure to confide in and be part of one’s life.

Oh how I loved your earworm!!!

I tried to keep count of the number of blows Ale landed on MDA and vice a versa because I wanted to know who was more “macho”; but I lost count. Who do you think was the more “macho” and physically fit?

After seeing EZ’s crawling on the floor and begging Peddy for his life instead of that of his wife, Carlota, I don’t know who is the worst man alive at this point—MDA or EZ. EZ’s cowardice was appalling to watch.

To those of you who are in the know and maybe live on the West Coast please post a link to the alternate ending at the end of the novela. I've looked on the websites for Univision (Novelas y Series) and Televisa (2esmas) and don't see anything about one or two alternate endings.

For "Teresa", I was able to watch all three endings (one of which was the real one) on the show "Christina". But now that Christina no longer has a show, who knows where to look. I was surprised to learn that AB liked one of the other endings better than the one that actually aired. Again, who gets to pick the one that they air? Do they have different endings for Mexico than the US and other countries?

What will happen to EZ now that he crawled away? Will Pedro come after him or is he satisfied that he brought him down in front of Carlota’s eyes. It was so sad to see her crying while learning what a scumbag her husband really is. Peddy was taking so much delight in her sorrow. This man, with his popping eyes and stutter, is really getting on my nerves; and we know that he’ll be with us until the last episode as in most TNs. Oh no!!

For anyone interested in viewing Silvia Navarro in the Mexican production of "Montecristo" here is a link for DailyMotion where one may watch the novela. I could not find this novela on YouTube and currently the website "DramaFever" is playing the version from Argentina.

Montecristo with Silvia Navarro was highly recommended by Caray, Caray bloggers:

None of the horror that occurred with EZ and Carlota would have happened if Graciela had been still in the house.

It's like a wrestling tag team; she would have finger-poked Pedro to the floor and then Carlota would have sat on him until he succumbed.

Oxnard

How great that you made this depressing scene with Peddy, EZ, and Carlota into a comedy! How inspired you must be!

Fatima Member, Crackpot Theorists™ and other Crackpot Terorists™:

I haven’t been a member so far because I’m bad at guessing endings since I love the typical “good guy wins, bad guy dies” endings. For this reason, I hated "La Virgen Esposa" and most likely will not watch "Romana" even though that is a historical novela.

It has been hard to keep up with all the conjectures and crackpot theories. As the novela winds to an end, I think it would be very helpful and enlightening if one of the members of the Crackpot Theorists™ would be so kind as to make a listing or bullet items of some of the more important theories expressed so far. I definitely will join the table then!

For instance, I know some think MDA may be redeemable but not Adolfo; and some think Graciela is faking her illness.

Wouldn’t it be great to see how many theories pan out in the end? This novela can twist the ending in so many ways.

But only those who have not seen the ending can have a vote!

My previous comment was a PRETTY PLEASE with sugar on top, as I think Elna June quoted before?

No sorry it was Eli Perez that came up with that lovely request of Pretty Please. What a wonderfully heart-warming way to request something. I love it; reminds me of my childhood--with fingers crossed, secret handshakes, and all that!

Madeline, thank you for lightening this up for us. The dedication from the recappers is inspiring.

Victoria Gomez: thanks for sharing the Montecristo address. I had no idea it was on and it looks good.
I also have been subjected to corrupt governments and situations similar to yours. I'm glad that's behind you and I appreciate you sharing it with us. It's one thing to be unable to do anything about the horrible situation. It's distinctly another when good people turn their backs on injustices because they're not being directly 'affected' by them. We must speak out when the corruption begins, before it's too late to change it.
I'm deeply grateful to live in this great country.
I remember the Pastor Niemöller, WWII quote:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Thanks for this light-hearted recap, Madelaine. Somehow you managed to make it seem amusing rather than the horrific spectacle that it was. Thanks also for sharing your warm memories of both your lovely mother and wonderful aunt and godmother.

That fight was downright ridiculous and indicates just how much our two boys have matured since we first met them. Montserrat sure knows how to pick'em. After a short time, even Dimitrio and Refugio only seemed to be halfway paying attention.

I was slightly heartened by María last night. Maybe she hasn't lapsed back into the grip of drugs after all. Although her chair dance was rather torpid and uninspired, she did seem to be thinking clearly and she was the one to come up with the plan to deliver that note to EZ. Also I don't believe that she is in thrall to Pedro and may even be working on her own plan to bring him down. I just wish that she'd ditch that ghastly blond wig.

I truly felt sympathy for poor Carlota. Not only did the illusion that has been her comfortable world come crashing down around her but Pedro mercilessly goaded her about her weight. However Pedro was right in his reminder to her that "no one is so blind as she who will not see."

This made me smile because of how matter-of-factly Dimitrio said it and because it illustrates just how cheap life has become in this TN:

Dimitrio (to Ale and Vic): "Ya'll stay here with her and I'll go take care of the bodies."

Carlota: "What bodies? What's he talking about?"

Victor just hugged her. No one even bothered to answer her.

I suppose JL inadvertently obtained a bit of revenge on Pedro for ridiculing Carlota about her weight by taunting him about his lack of body parts in front of his men.

I suppose we can all breathe easier since Carlota's cat wasn't around for Pedro to threaten. Think of the message he could have sent and how much Patio-hate he could have engendered by killing the kitty.

Carlos

Madelaine, my sincerest condolences on your Auntie's passing. Hope your loving memories and time help pull you through.

What a fast paced and entertaining recap you managed to get up for us after such a dark and dismal episode. My favorites:

"Peddy is pithed cause EZ has the cajones, to still be alive along with his fat wife."

"May a pox befall EZ! "

"oh, my eyes, my eyes, he kisses Carly. He leaves her and she is wiping her mouth. Quick Carly get the super, duper strength Listerine."

"BM uses her communications skills, hey they are better than her dancing skills, and calls Addled."

Love your sense of humor :-)

Unlike Victoria who was trying to count punches during the fight scene, I was trying to get a look at what Dimi had in his hand. Was it a gun or a phone? He was holding it up and for a moment I thought he was filming the fight to put it on YouTube later, LOL!

I'm glad Tia Carly's eyes were opened to EZ's misdeeds but not that it was done with a gun pointed to her head. Poor thing! And to have to take Pedro's insults too? That man is heartless! Hope he gets brought down soon. By the way Oxnard, I enjoyed picturing your "wrestling tag team" scenario!

Now that we know, JL is not the one helping Pedro, hopefully he and Ale can put their differences aside and rescue Rosie. I too hate where this story is going. Like Urban mentioned, she has suffered so much, and continues to suffer knowing her family and friends are in danger, not to mention Graciela's constant harassment. I hope they can catch a break soon.

Maricruz

Hi Madelaine---Thanks for the recap. I didn't write anything about Thursdays episode [which I thoroughly enjoyed] because there were just too many negative comments about the show and I didn't want to put myself back in a position like I was in during CI
where it was me against the world.
I don't know why the writers screwed up CI so badly but will someone please tell me, how can a guy stay away from Ana Brenda???
That's just impossible. So instead
of causing commotion on the Robo recap, I just put out some information about Alex Sirvent, the handsome guy that so many have been talking about and his sister Paty who is famous in the entertainment industry also.

Now onto today---I'm sorry for your loss Madelaine but I know that your Aunt will live on in your memories every time you drink a café au lait.

I believe that Rosario will either be let go or be rescued.
Yes, it's a novela drama and novela dramas are dark, people die
but not Rosario. Please not Rosario. In my short time with Robo I have really grown to like her. What a contrast between the two mothers Rosie y Graciela.

Last nights fistfight---PLEASE!!
Televisa make it a little more real. In reality the fight never would have lasted that long and it was still going on when the phone rang. Two strong men smashing each others faces with blow after blow. How many? 7/8/9/10? And when the fight ended
only a small amount of blood here
and a little bruise there. No broken noses, no broken jaws, no black eyes or eyes swollen shut from the blows, no teeth missing and no stitches needed anywhere. WHAT!!! Maybe Dr. Carlos can weigh
in on this one. I know that Televisa is going for the macho effect but that was ridiculous, way over done.

Can someone tell me why Fina and Esmeralda are in danger, they seem like nice ladies. I can't see either of them as bad persons.
Have either of them been involved
in crime earlier on and are covering up a dark past?

The weekend discussion looks like a good one for me to go against the grain---I think that I will weigh in with an honest opinion.
the gringo

gringo, Pedro will try/is trying to get back at Adolfito by harming Fina. Fina has done nothing wrong. Pedro simply chooses to harm those people that he are important to others.

In addition, Pedro beat up Esmeralda so badly in the first third of the TN that we all wondered how she managed to make it out alive. Pedro used Esmeralda at "La Escondida" to make the other men around him think he was a really ladies' man. It was so very painful to watch how he beat up Esme; very painful.

With mu comment on the fight last night not being realistic, now you guys know why with very few exceptions can I stand to watch action flicks or should I say cartoons because that is what they seem to me even though I know that's not what they are meant to be.
the gringo

Thanks Fatima. Pedro has to go in the worst way.

With my comment not mu comment. Sorry

Madelaine, thank your lovely recap. Condolences to you over the loss of your Aunt.

I was disgusted but not surprised regarding Gracie's response to Carlotta's ordeal. She is definitely a disgrace and her demise whether from illness or otherwise (Pedro, do us a favor and take Gracie out) cannot come soon enough.

After the action we had last night, I just have one question... Where is Amelia? Have we seen her since Victor and Nadia's wedding (and Montse giving birth to Romina)? Where is this woman? I am truly puzzled. I thought maybe one of the other characters would have called her to worn her about Pedro. Maybe that will happen on another day?

Caryn

Gringo:
Yes, I wondered how they manage to not actually hit each other during all this fist-fighting play acting!

Caryn, I'm starting to think Amelia helped Pedro just bec she is the only person we haven't seen lately. Only motive she would have though is to think she needs him alive to get more info to get out the full truth. Not a good motive but who else is left who would have access and a reason to go to his house?

Gracias, Madelaine. I'm sorry about your aunt; she sounds like a great lady with a lot of empathy.

If Graciela's diagnosis is real, I see her ultimately committing suicide. The idea of going blind and losing control of everything else would be too horrific to anyone. The difference between her and anyone else is that she would also do the suicide in such a way that would provoke the maximum built in her children.

For a great example of a truly twisted suicide, watch Leave Her to Heaven.

EZ turned out to be quite a weasel. However, I don't think the writers had Carlota able to physically pick him off his feet for nothing. She may be his ultimate humiliation.

The fight between Alejandro and MDA was gratuitous and made no sense. Both of them should have been worried about what Pedro would do next.

Victoria Gomez please forgive me for my delay in replying! I somehow missed your message. I like the idea of being a Crackpot Terrorist, btw. :))

Urban and Vivi in DC are the details oriented gals on this list, but here are some of the theories that I believe we have tossed about. I welcome everyone to add to the list!

--Maria "might" be Gaudencia's real daughter. I don't know if that theory is still flying about given what we knew about Fabiola, but you never know.

--Amelia helped Peddy after he shot (and where is this chick anyway?!)

--Gaudencia is faking it and paid off another fine specimen of a doctor in the process

--Refoolio "might" be related to Gaudencia. Again, this might be really old news given the Fabiola discovery, but it was tossed about once as well

--Is Sandho really dead? We saw the body (which is probably enough), but we didn't see the clean up job

--Fabiola's maid was not killed after all by Adolfito's "clean up crew"

That is what I am coming up at this very moment. I'm sure other members of the Caray gang will chime in :))

Fatima,
Potential Crackpot Terrorist

Madelaine, as someone who lost a mother early in life, I fully understand what the loss of your beloved aunt means to you.

I am sending you wings of support.

Fatima

Thank you so much Madelaine! I don't know why but when JL and Ale were fighting... and fighting... and fighting it reminded me of this:
Sheldon vs Kripke

Maybe JL and Ale can bounce a ball to see who wins.

I too have been wondering where Amelia is.

It occurred to me today that we know nothing of Pedro's backstory. I got to thinking about it and couldn't help wondering: Pedro and Gracie are so much alike, the only difference is that he wants power and she wants money. What if they are actually siblings?

Is it just me or the scene with Ale and JL was just pure comedy?,I laughed when the phone rang and they were still at eachother! I bet they breed these men in a zoo!

And Peddys hitmen are so COMPETENT! they should be hired by the Police force or by the Navy and remember when EZ said to JL that he needs no bodyguards because his men are more competent? Busted!
EZ ran off like a weasel which was expected of him,i never expected him kissing Pedros shoes though, did EZ expected to be paid for Lick Service or what? Well atleast it saves Peddy the need to buy the washing machine! I hated when Peddy kissed Carlota, eww.

About the note Maria left ,i think it gave away Pedros current hideout.

Fatima,

-- There never was a DNA test on Fabiola, so Maria could be Gaudencia's/Gracie's real daughter.

-- Refugio (who also doesn't have a backstory) was once thought to be the missing baby until the attempt at DNA fakeout revealed that the missing baby was a girl.

-- Sandro is dead; Adolfo and his boys cleaned up the crime scene and would have disposed of the body. What's bugging me is that there has been no follow-up to this.

-- Amelia might have helped Pedro and her absence bugs me, too.

-- Pedro has not provided us with his backstory prior to the accident. However, if he were related to Gaudencia (awful name) I'm sure we'd know it by now.

-- We still don't know what happened to Fabiola's maid.

-- Gaudencia/Gracie has huge caches of dinero in offshore accounts from way before the beginning of the story (still to be proven).

-- Unless somebody can remember a line of dialogue about Nadia and Adolfo's parents being dead, we don't know what happened to them.

-- The murders attributable to Pedro's wishes that we have witnessed were all done by others at his command. We do not know about the emergency room doctor who amputated Pedro's privates. Pedro's account of his death in a road accident was vague on whether he did it personally or ordered it done.

One hypothetical question (now that I've had some caffeine):

If Fabiola had been a boy instead of a girl do you think Benjamin would have behaved differently? Would he have brought the boy to the ranch after the deaths of his sister and her husband? Would he have forgiven the pecadilloes? Would he have taught him to treat Alejandro like garbage (as he himself did)?

The fist fight was funny. Perhaps, JL will suggest doing "rock-paper--scissors" to decide who gets Mony.

Mads...So sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved aunt. I am keeping you in my thoughts and sending you good vibrations)))). Losing someone you love is always difficult.

The Marines and Police should totally consider hiring Pedros new goons as their own:) ,recently they have proven to be so capable that its insulting that they have to serve evil! They took down what are supposed to be nigh-excellent bodyguards or thats how atleast EZ describes them( Or EZ gave them too much credits) without a sweat!

Urban Thank you for adding to and clarifying things. I was hoping you would!

--Agree that Gaudencia is not exactly on the popular list of names these days. :))

--Agree that we don't really know the story behind Pedro's accident. We have Pedro's version only.

--Agree that not only has there been no follow up to Sandho's murder, but what about Sandho murdering the attorney that was helping Alejandro initially?

--You pose an excellent question re what if Fabiola had been a boy. My money is on Benjamin treating that child just as he did Fabiola and Alejandro. Benjamin was a pig. I would not have expected him to have behaved differently towards a male child. Plus, what would make a child out of Gaudencia more special that a child out of Rosario?

--I feel that the writers missed an opportunity to add some flair to this story if they had made that ring we saw taken by Juventino travel from person to person. It would have been so wonderfully operatic.

Speaking of opera, looks like your Met is having difficulties this week. Here are some NPR stories regarding same:

http://www.npr.org/blogs/deceptivecadence/2014/07/26/335336345/war-of-words-at-met-opera-may-signal-shutdown

and

http://www.npr.org/blogs/deceptivecadence/2014/07/24/334974965/labor-conflict-may-lock-out-met-opera-workers

--Do you think the ring might reappear?

It's funny, but I was thinking about this novela this morning. There have been many upsetting things happen in this show, but two things that bother me the most: a)Fabiola's suicide b) Gaudencia never, ever acknowledging that she has had a part in anything that has happened to anyone. I keep seeing in my mind how she perpetrated that con on Fabiola and how she kept working it right up until Fabiola shot herself. Somehow, the phrase, "mothers show their love in different ways", just doesn't fly for me when I see this Gaudencia woman in action.

Fatima

Hi Ms. MADS...it's great to have you back and giving us your own inimitable stye of recap with your "back in a tick's" that always crack me up.

Loved Vapid Victor, super duper Listerine and especially "BM is working the chair".

I truly don't understand why the directors would choreograph such a lame dance, and it's hard to imagine the men cheering insanely night after night about that. But who knows? I suppose with enough beer and tequila anything is possible.

On the other end of the beverage scale, why is "tea" always considered some kind of calmante. Carlota seemed to think a cup of that would put EZ's mind to rest. As if.

Té de tila especially (which tastes a lot like plain hot water) always seems to be given mystical properties of peacefulness. I'm beginning to think this may be more insidious product placement.

I've been on a Downton Abbey binge lately, having discovered it on Roku, and the contrast between how upper class Brits handle emotion and the Latino style is hilarious. No screaming and crying there, except on the battlefield.

The reason there was no followup to the lawyer's murder by Sandro is that he covered it up with a fire and it was deemed an accident by those in charge, which just happened to be the corrupt chief of police (EZ) and mayor (Pedo - not a typo). And the reason there has been no followup to Sandro's murder is that Adolfo cleaned up the crime scene (including the maid) on Pedro's orders as a "favor" to Gaudy and then made sure to mention all around town that Sandro had returned to Miami. Since nobody cares about him, no one's bothered to follow up.And all they have to say should anyone ask is that the maid "regreso a su pueblo" ... and maybe she did. Adolfo could've sent her away with a deadly warning to stay away and keep her lips zipped.

How lovely to have you back with us, Mads! I enjoyed the light touch you gave to this dreary episode. Thanks so much!

I'm so glad you can take solace in your sweet memories.

Fatima:

Thanks for listing the theories! I can't wait to see which ones pan out at the end.

Count:
You have such a great sense of humor. You must be so fun to be around!

Mads welcome back. We have missed you! I am sorry for your loss but glad you have wonderful memories of your aunt. Thanks for making light of a rather dreary episode.

Judy B---I will attempt to answer
your question as to why would the directors choreograph such a lame dance and why would the men cheer
night after night?
Lame choreography? I see the answer as plain and simple---maybe the actresses are not dancers. Yes an actress can play many parts but if you're just not a dancer? I knew a guy at work who could probably act if he wanted to but he couldn't dance if his life depended on it. Maybe the actress is doing the best that she can.
Why do the men cheer night after night? It's a nightclub scene, the men are supposed to cheer for the performer on stage. If the scene isn't perfect, we can use our imaginations. In another novela, a recent one, there was a
nightclub as part of the story. It was sad excuse for a nightclub
but maybe Televisa was on a tight budget. We all just used our imaginations.
Yes, the pole dancer in Mi Corazon
Es Tuyo is better.
the gringo

Just got around to seeing the episode. For those wondering about Amelia, she wasn't shown, but Esmeralda did mention that Amelia was at her house taking care of Angel. So she isn't totally MIA.

Yeah, this soap has gone south real fast. There is too much gratuitous violence, shootings, kidnappings, gun waving, schoolyard fistfights, etc. It's basically become a third-rate gangster story now.

I still watch because it's almost over and it helps my understanding of the language.

I see a ray of sunshine, though. I'm thinking a comedy spinoff starring Macario and Kevin, as they fuss and bond. Something like Chico and the Man, back in the 70's. Que cree el grupo?

Oxnard:
I'm from that generation and loved Chico and the Man movies. But who would be the one to stay "stoned" all the time? Macario! He acts that stupid all... The time!

Anon@5:40,thank you for letting us know about Amelia's whereabouts. :))

Victoria Gomez, you are welcome. :)

Victoria Gomez:

"I'm from that generation and loved Chico and the Man movies. But who would be the one to stay "stoned" all the time? Macario! He acts that stupid all... The time"!

No, not Cheech and Chong. Chico and the Man was a TV series about a junkman grudgingly taking a young Hispanic under his wing.

Thank you Madelaine for the ear worm as well as your entertaining recap.

Yes, I see that anvil poised over Rosario's head, hope it's a red herring.
How many more episodes, does any one know?

Emarie
196 episodes. I think 196 will be 2 hours long, at least that is what they are airing in Spain. I just hope this novela ends on a good note.

Mads - I'm usually sitting over at the Telemundo Patio with the RdC gang but dropped by the main Caray page tonight.... And what did my eyes see.... But your mention of Word Crimes. OMG LOL! I found that gem on my own a few days ago and it has got to be one do Al's best in ages.

Madelaine,

Thank you so much for writing this awesome recap. Glad to have you back. My condolences on your aunt's passing.

All my favorite lines have been mentioned, so I won't repeat them. I do agree with all those that didn't like the fight. I just thought it was filler.

The scene with EZ, Peddy and Carlotta was the best of the night. EZ is a sleazebag! The way he kissed Peddy's shoes and then took off and left his wife to die. He is just like Addie, SELFISH! EZ only wants to save himself and Addie wants a 'normal', peaceful life without paying for his crimes. I can't wait for the day when Fina finds out the truth about Addie. I hope it happens before the wedding.

I don't think that Peddy will have Rosy killed. No spoiler, but I just think that Peddy is using Rosy to get to Ale. Question is will Peddy change his mind about his revenge against Ale when he finds out that it was Benny driving the truck in the accident? My guess is no. Peddy also hated the fact that Ale would not sell his lands when Peddy wanted to buy them early on in the novella.

Gracie is a fake, fake, faker!

I am still holding out that BM is Gracie's daughter. Hmmmmm!

ElnaJune
I wanted to thank you for your recap of Thurday's capitulo. That introduction was so well written. Everything you said is sadly true, and it makes you wonder if the writers include current events on purpose. The writers know that there are viewers from other countries, so maybe they do it to 'expose' what is going on.

JudyB,
I have the box set of Downtown Abbey waiting on the shelf. It was a Christmas gift from my husband. I hope I can find the time to start watching it, and I hope it's worth my time too!

I have so much more to say, but am out of time.

back to organizing...hasta pronto!

Peddy will never give up his revenge even if he learns the truth,he is way past normality and commited too many sins..

I agree. Pedro is past caring whether it was Alejandro or Benjamin driving the truck. Pedro is too hung up on his envy of men who can do all the normal things he can't.

Not to mention attractive ones who have no problem getting women.

We have the handicap of not knowing Pedro's backstory, so I wonder whether his hatred of women isn't a defense mechanism. He has made more than an ass of himself on more than one occasion talking about how stupid women are, so that I hope his final downfall will be due to the efforts of a woman. Even if that woman is Maria.

And i can confirm that yesterday, both of the finales aired in Mexico, there was no third finale. Also today in Mexico, they begin broadcasting Hasta El Fin Del Mundo, the novela that follows after Robo.

Countx:
Do you think they will air both endings here in the US? .I doubt it and I don't know how we will know what the second ending was since most cable carriers (especially on the East Coast) don't air Televisa or Canal de Estrellas.

What was the point in airing two endings? Did they ask the viewers to call a number and vote for the one.they liked best?

I dont know if they will air the second ending in USA,i have no idea.. They could put it on the television the day after the normal ending. And i always wondered where to watch the alternative ending of Madrastra,it is on Youtube but with a horrlible quality..

La Madrastra*

Countx:
What a coincidence. I just finished watching La Madrastra on TLNovelas even though I can't stand Victoria Ruffo and her crying. I will now look for the alternate ending on YouTube.

Did you see Teresa and like the ending that they selected to air?

You didn't ask me, but I didn't like the ending aired here. I preferred the one where she ended up in another city and was starting all over with her games. That was more true to the nature of the story.

She should not have been rewarded by getting Arturo back because despite the grand gesture she never changed.

Urban:
Yes you are right, but I'm a romantic (only like happy ever after endings) and loved watching SR pick AB up off the floor with Marco Antonio Solis singing in the background!

I hated La Virgen Esposa and MEPS with bad man Sergio Sendel and could not stand his role in Destilando Amor.

Aunty Ann, you will positively, thoroughly enjoy "Downton Abbey"! I love, love, love it. The characters have such depth and the actors are well trained and excellent.

Fatima

P.S. Aunty Ann, so may we add you to our "Graciela is Faking it", table? If so, that will make 8 members. :)

Sign me up for the Graciela is faking it table (this is going to have to be a giant table or we'll have to push a few tables together) - her dismissive remark about Carlota's encounter with Pedro and her constant campaign for sympathy from Montse and Dim, not to mention her insistence on being waited on hand and foot by Rosario with her evil, conniving looks, just scream FAAAAKE to me.
Naima

Good Morning Y'all:

Thank you so very much for all your lovely, kind words.

Anon 11:22:

I too hope nothing happens to Rosy.

Loriloo:

I'm with you, I am counting the the anvils myself to see who gets the biggest one. It's a toss up between Peddy and Gaudy.

TF;

Thank you so very much for the info on the note. They were going so fast I didn't catch it. Yes, JL has not been helping Peddy. I am glad for that too.

Jarifa:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad you liked the earworm. I find Weird Al so very funny and he can make your day ; ) I too am awaiting the anvils.

Diana:

Thank you so much for the hugs and your very kind words. The assume lesson, I learned awhile ago. As a matter of fact, a Navy Instructor used it in a lesson, when I was in a Navy school. It impressed me so much, I remembered it when Ale and Monse were talking. I too hope JL stops the shenanigans, sobers up and deals with Peddy. Keep the faith Diana ; )

Victoria Gomez:

Thank you so very much for your very kind words and I was very lucky to have my Auntie : ). As far as whole got more punches in Ale or JL, it was evenly matched. No one won here, it was all so juvenile. Thank you for link to Monte Cristo. Have you ever seen La Verdad Oculta? That was a marvelous TN, and is on Youtube, last time I checked. It has never been released on DVD, I wish it were. What cable company do you have? I am in the Mid Atlantic (EC). I have Cox and they have a bunch of novella channels including Azteca, the American version. As far as the alternate endings for Robo, it will eventually hit Youtube. Just keep checking. Or DailyMotion might carry it.

Oxnard:

Guady being in the house would stop Peddy. You made me laugh. Can you just see her finger thumping! Poor Carly. I believe they are dressing the actress to look heavier than she really is. I have seen pictures of her and she doesn't look heavy, like they are showing her on Robo.

Marea Primavera:

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I really liked the quote by Rev Neimoller.

JL may not have been helping Pedro, but he knew almost immediately that he wasn't dead. Pedro himself told him, to try to get him to help with the venganza against Ale and Montse. JL refused to join with him, but kept quiet about it, which was almost as bad, since it gave Pedro free rein for at least one year (since the marina was not actively looking for him) which helped him regain his strength, both physically and in terms of his army of thugs. At the very least, JL is an accomplice to the recent rash of crimes that Pedro is committing.

Carlos:

Thank you so much for your very kind words and for what I missed that Dimi said. I too wonder about Maria sliding back into drugs. She sure isn't acting like she is addicted at all. Maybe when she was picking those drugs up from the floor the other epi, it was because Peddy was making her. Maria is a sly one, I must say, and who knows maybe she will be Peddy's anvil. We will have to wait and see.

Maricruz:

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I am glad you like my sense of humor. I too am hoping that JL and Ale bury the hatchet and get to work. They make a good team, as they did before. I too want Rosy to be saved.

Gringo:

Thanks for your very kind words and you never have to be afraid to speak your mind about this story. I know CI got really heated, but we aren't that bad, I don't think. That's what makes Caray Caray such a unique and wonderful forum. Thank you for the info you provided on Alex Sirvent and his sister. The fist fight was mainly filler and very juvenile.

Fatima:

Thank you so very much for your kind and lovely words. Thank you for the wings. Thank you also for all the Crackpot theories. I am so happy the Crackpot Theorists are here. I so enjoy all of the crackpot theories being bandied about. I too want to see how many of our theories come to pass.

Caryn:

Thank you so very much for your kind words. Disgrace, hmmmmm. I am liking that for Guady. I may borrow that from you in a recap, if I may. I too was disgusted by what Dis Grace said about Carly.

Carvivlie:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I too was wondering about Amelia. I can't wait to find out who helped Peddy escape the long arm of the law.

Urban:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am hoping that Carly is EZ's ultimate humiliation. How great would that be? As far as Gaudy's anvil. I have been thinking about that. Suicide is too easy. I know it would effect her children but how about Peddy and Gaudy take each other out. Two birds with one stone, so to speak. Just my crackpot theory.

xIntperuvian:

Thanks so much for your kind words. I laughed out loud with the link you put up. Are you a big fan of Big Bang Theory? I never miss an episode, so very funny, and you're right about that fight with Ale and JL.

Count:

I think EZ thought if he humiliated himself that way, Peddy wouldn't kill him. EZ is a true coward and selfish. The thing is that Peddy could have shot him in the back and didn't. Why??????

Susanlynn:

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I loved your quip about rock, paper, scissors, perfect!

JudyB:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I too love Downton Abbey and you are so right about the differences in, shall we say, demeanor, lol. Can you just see a showdown with Gaudy and Lady Violet Crawley. Guady would be on the losing end as soon as she went to thump Lady Violet when she'd get her cane upside the head! As far as tea being a calming agent. It's all in the brewing as far as taste goes, and I think it's the sugar that is the calming factor, not the tea so much. Although, I have to say some teas are actually soothing. Earl Grey and Chamomile come to mind.

Tracey:

Thank you so much for your very kind words. Please don't quit now. This is almost over and I think the action will pick up now. So much to resolve.

Anon 1:42:

You are exactly right about that lawyer of Ale's that died in the fire. That crime was covered up by Peddy and EZ and Peddy I think brought that up when he gave that fake will to the Judge, about how mysterious it was the lawyer died in a fire, trying to point the finger at Ale.

NovelaMaven:

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I really wanted to lighten this epi up, it was so dark and dreary.

Karen:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoyed lightening this epi up.

Gringo:

You may be right about the actress's dancing skillz. I think the men cheer for Maria because of her outfits. She was wearing a silky looking short set with high heeled glittery boots. I think it must have been the boots ; )

Anon 5:40:

Thank you for the info on Amelia. I was wondering who was watching Angel, cause Esme was at work and Refug was busy elsewhere. I am glad Amelia is watching over Angel.

Oxnard:

So many TNs get really silly towards the end with fillers, craptastic story lines, the works. But hang in there. They should start ramping up the action. We don't have much further to go.

Emarie:

Thank you for your very kind words. This TN doesn't have much further to go. Hasta El Fin Del Mundo starts on August 18th. I too hope someone rescues poor Rosy. She has already been through enough.

Doris:

It was so good to have you pop in. I have missed you. I couldn't help the Word Crimes earworm. I too think it's funny and really awesome. I liked his Tacky video too, it's a take on Happy, too funny.

Aunty Ann:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I too think that fight was filler, and you will absolutely love Downton Abbey. When you do start watching it, let us know how you like it.

Naima:

Welcome! I haven't seen you comment here before. That's the same way I feel about Gaudy, what a faker. We'll have to wait though to see for sure.

Pedro and Gaudencia taking each other out? It would be fitting, but I'd rather he be humiliated and tortured first. She doesn't know what the others know about him, so she doesn't have the weapon yet. While she could think of lots of great insults to use on him the only way that would make sense would be if she did it to make him kill her so she doesn't have to suffer the brain tumor action.

I'm not sure she realizes that his MO is to torture the people his targets value, so that might not be an option for her.

I want to see him in prison getting the full court press from the other inmates.

Urban:

I don't think it would have made any difference for how Benny treated Ale or if Fabs had been a boy. Benny thought both women, Gaudy and Rosy were on the same level, beneath him as someone else already remarked. As far as dividing his estate between the two, he would have pitted them against each other. And whoever Benny felt was the victor, there would the spoils would have went, so to speak.

Anon 11:08:

Could you clarify what you mean about JL letting Peddy go? I must have missed it, cause JL has been looking for Peddy for awhile and Amelia has been helping JL all along to get evidence against Peddy that would stick for him to be able to prove all of Peddy's crimes. In his current state, JL isn't in a fit state to stop anyone. I am hoping that JL wakes the heck up and starts Peddy's downward spiral to being caught and dealt with.

IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT:

Due to technical difficulties that often occur toward the end of a series I will be unable to provide screen shots for tonight's episode. Please do not make that a subject for discussion in future comments.

This announcement will be repeated as necessary.

We now return to our regularly-scheduled discussion.

Just a quick review here of People Who Know Pedro's Dirty Little Secret:

Nadia
Victor
Ezekiel
Dimitrio
Refugio
Mad Dog Alvarez
Alejandro
Coroner working two years ago when the impostor corpse was found (WTH happened to the DNA test from that?)

None of the above is likely to have told anyone else except for the anonymous coroner, who may not be alive to tell now.

Madeline:
When Pedro was talking to drunk JL on the beach he said something like, "I called you to tell you I was alive and asked you to join forces with me to get OUR revenge, but you refused." This tells me that although Jose Luis was NOT the one who had helped and had been helping Pedro, he WAS aware that he was alive and could have informed the navy so that they would have started to look for him immediately instead of letting them continue to assume Pedro was dead. I don't think he wanted to let Pedro get away with anything, but I think HE wanted to be the one to bring him to justice. However, he got stupid (and always drunk) with his Montse/Ale obsession and wasted precious time and opportunity to really do his job.

Anon 12:38:

Thank you so much for the clarification. I am such a JL fan, I don't like what he did either, not letting the Navy know what Peddy was alive. JL has always been about taking Peddy down, but JL has said he wanted solid proof of all of Peddy's crimes to make sure that there was no way for Peddy to escape the charges. I too don't like JL's fixation on venganza, but now he needs to straighten up and fly right and get to taking Peddy down.

Urban:

I have to say with or without your marvelous screencaps your recaps always rock. I can't wait to read your take on tonight's epi.

There's no info from Pedro's comment as to when that call happened. It could have been the day before for all we know.

After everything that had happened to MDA I can understand him wanting incontrovertible proof against Pedro so that there would be no risk of having to release him. However, if he knew substantially earlier than that that Pedro was alive I don't think he would have kept quiet about it. Amelia would also have been in danger and MDA cares about her. Ditto Esmeralda.

Victoria and Count:

I too liked La Madrasta. It was a really good mystery with lots of red herrings thrown in. By the time it was winding down, I was still conflicted about who the murder was and it was the best reveal of a villain I have ever seen.

I too can't wait for La Marquerida. It's Christian Meir, and what a hunk that guy is. I don't care if VR cries through the whole thing. I think each actor has schtick so to speak that they bring to TN. For example in this one, SR brings the hunk and the rage, JL brings the brooding element, AR brings the damsel in distress, SS brings the menace and then some. VR is really good at what she does.

Darn typos, I meant AB not AR.

Let's not forget BE, the suffering mother, and DC, the toxic one.

Urban:

Yes that too. This cast is amazing to me, as long as this TN has been, they are still bringing the best performances they can. Amazing.

I hope all of them get awards for this. Ana Berta Espin is truly outstanding. Think of the scene where Rosario revealed to Alejandro that she was his mother. That one alone was Oscar-worthy.

Dear Mads,

I'm late to the comment page, but just wanted to say so good to have you back and thanks so much for the fabulous recap! Loved it all from title "Will This Story Go Round in Circless, Hmmmmmm!!!!!!!" to well-described finish. Rosario's kidnapping was awful!

I have to say the Pedro surprised with me with how calmly he took J-L's announcement of his (Pedro's) lack of equipment in front of his men. I guess Pedro was hoping that by keeping control, his men would just think J-L was saying drunken nonsense, but I would think Pedro would at least show some discomfort or outrage.

Thanks again, Mads. It was wonderful to read your work, as always.

Best to you and everyone,
Julia R.

I'm wondering whether those two guys are the same ones that helped kidnap Rosario. Their attitude could even be the same as EZ's, which was to save this info for the right moment.

Urban:
I agree about the actors deserving awards, AB has also been outstanding.

Madelaine, Yes, I am a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory! It's one of the only shows that has made me laugh 'til I cry. Did you see the one where Sheldon got called down to the university's HR department for sexual harassment? Another classic. I didn't get to see much of last season because I was recapping PSMA, but we buy DVDs of every season so I'll get to catch up.

Anonymous Sun Jul 27, 05:40:00 PM EDT, thank you for the information about Amelia. I missed Esmeralda making that comment.

"Disgrace, hmmmmm. I am liking that for Guady. I may borrow that from you in a recap, if I may." - Madelaine, absolutely!

I hope nothing bad happens to our Rosario tonight. I hope she can hang tough.

Caryn

Madelaine, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences. May she rest in peace. I am glad you're back. I grew up drinking cafe au lait with bread and butter like many French children so I smiled when I read it. I still do it most mornings even if the bread is whole wheat now. Take care and welcome back.
ps. I watched a weeks worth in half an hour I FF most of it.

JuliaR:

You are never too late to comment! Thank you so kindly for your lovely words. I think sometimes Peddy lets the words roll off his back like a lame duck and gets back at whoever said them. It's all mixed up with his venganza in his mind.

xIntperuvian:

Oh, cool how funny are those guys? I have been watching in syndication, but now I watch in real time. I did see that episode of the sexual harassment and it was a scream. Sheldon is so very smart but so very dumb in common sense. I like how he uses his Texisms (sayings you only hear in Texas). The actor is from Austin, Texas. Did you know that the characters of Sheldon and Leonard were named for that fabulous writer, Sheldon Leonard? Too funny.

Caryn:

Thank you, and I will use the Dis Grace. She is truly DisGraceful and then some. I too am rooting for Rosy being okay. She truly deserves a happy ending.

Romy:

Thank you so much for your very kind words. Those café au laits are addicting, I must say, but oh, so good. I had to laugh at your FF>>>>> There has been a lot of filler lately, but I think since we don't have that much time left, they will be ramping this one up, with more action.
