Mi corazon es tuyo #8, the war is declared, signed, sealed and delivered... lots of emotion pouring out tonight....

Repeat of Isabela all over Fernando, Fanny sees the kiss…

‘you forgot about my mom quick, didn’t you?’

Fernando runs after Fanny.

Luz asks Fernando if Ana can have dinner with us… que chido! ‘don’t like that word… you can say que padre!’

Fanny won’t open the door to Fernando, but she does to Ana. Ana tells Fanny her dad has the right to rebuild his life. Fanny says it’s too soon, besides that woman is all wrong… Ana tells her no woman will be right… never mind, cancel! Cancel! You need to get ready for the dinner… even I will be there… (why?) your little sis asked your dad that I eat with you all… Ana fakes getting sick and walks out.

Isabela tries to downplay Fanny’s reaction to Fernando. Fernando not convinced. It might be logical but it hurts. Isabela offers to talk to her but Fernando says not a good idea. He leaves turning the subject to work ‘We have not progressed in our project’. Isabela, after he leaves, says I would say we have made progress, dear.

Fanny brings her mom’s dress to Ana… Ana is so moved her eyes are full of tears… resists at first but gives in.

Lo Nuevo:
Dinner is all fancy stuff, seems wild boar (Jabali) is indeed in the grill, split in half, roast pork style..

All kids are elegant dressed… Isabela meets all the kids except Luz… Fanny tells Isabela that Ana la nana will have dinner with us. Isabela fakes not having any problem with it… Meanwhile, Luz is escorting Ana down the stairs. Fernando comes in and is in shock… (someone please help him shovel his chin off the floor…) ‘She is beautiful, right Papi?’ ‘Yeah! She is very elegant! (to Ana) … you are radiant.. very beautiful.' Ana tries to explain about Fanny Sr's dress. Fernando tells her Fanny already told him and he is ok with it. 'Shall we go?’ Luz walks Ana out, Fernando is walking behind them, still shocked at the ‘view’.

Everyone is at a huge table in the backyard. Isabela and Ana exchange forced greeetings. Isabela starts undermining Ana, 'I usually forget the names of the service', ‘Ana... that dress is very high fashion (alta costura), but no it can't, since the salary of a nanny is not enough money to buy such a fine outfit. Maybe I will switch jobs. I will take Ana’s job… (kids shreak) I was just kiddin!!’ Isabela starts making goo goo da da sounds to Luz… and singing the ‘dos elefantes’ song… Ana tells her Luz is not a 2 year old. She is 5. Isabela turns to the twins and asks them if they like the music group 'Parchis' (the boys are as confused as me... que??)... Fanny tells Isabela 'it is a group from the 80's, (with hand hashtag gesture) you should catch up and hashtag yourself up to date.

Fernando tells the kids that there is a different menu for them, they won’t eat the crab. Bruno goes to Ana and gives her a flash 101 course on how to snap the crab shell with the thongs(?). Ana tries it and the crab slips off the thong and ends up on Isabela’s head. Isabela insults Ana saying ‘it is obvious a woman of your ‘rank’ (nivel) does not know how to behave in ‘society’’Ana comes up with the excuse that maybe this one in particular is still alive (LOL!!). … All the kids laugh, even Fernando laughs wholeheartedly. ‘We should do this more often!! Too funny!’ Isabel tries to follow along ‘I would love to repeat the experience… of course we will not always count on the lovely and distinguished presence of the nanny… ‘ ‘Ana!’ ‘Whatever’. Fernando announces to Isabela that Manuela fixed her her favorite dish, wild boar. Isabel stands up to thank Fernando, but at that time Ana looks at the meat on the grill and gets so sick she spits the mouthful of water she had just taken from the goblet right into Isabela’s outfit. Fernando is not laughing this time, he is shocked. The kids laugh it off again. Then Isabela tries to win over Luz calling her beautiful, but Luz turns it around on her, saying ‘thanks, you too, but Ana is more beautiful’.

Bedtime, Luz and Ana and Cecilia are in the girls room. Luz was asking about the ‘home’ Ana grew up in. Ana tells Luz that the last time she saw her mom, Ana was younger than Luz is now, but she remembers her mom used to play guitar for her so Ana remembers her hands real well. ‘But finally I will see her again. You can imagine how I feel’. Luz looks for her little plush turtle. She remembers she left it at the library. Ana will go get it.

Isabela and Fernando come in the library, Isabela is nagging that Ana will destroy her whole wardrobe. Ana is hiding under the desk since she came in looking for Luz's turtle and had no time to leave when she heard Isa and Fernando come in. Fernando defends Ana that she is efficient and all the kids like her. Isabela suggests that maybe Ana is also attracted to him and he is alone. Fernando starts spitting some excuses… says there is an abysm between Ana and him, besides, Ana is not as attractive … Isabel tries to put the word ‘vulgar’ in his head…’No that’s not it… Ana is different, exotic, picturesque (pintoresca), folkloric… but definitely she is not my type. (Ana grunts) Isabela asks ‘and I? am I your type?’

Luz comes in looking for Ana… Fernando says Ana is not here, you need to be going to bed. Isabela says good nite, but Luz only wants to hug Fernando. Isabela tries to sing a lullaby song (trying to get Luz attention so Luz will let go of Fernando, but to no avail), Fernando just says ‘I don’t know that one’.

Luz leaves. Isabela latches again to Fernando’s lips… Ana runs out, but Fernando sees her… Isabela did not see her… Isabela asks what is up (since he pulled back). 'nothing.... no, nothing ever happens in this house (LOL!)'

In her room Ana thinks of her mother, ‘finally I will see you tonight, I can't believe it!’. ‘will you think of me?’ remembers her mom playing the guitar…

Isabela tells Fernando about a plan for them for tomorrow night… dinner just the two of us?... Fernando tries to bail out, has too many commitments. Isabela sits on his lap… ‘do you fake not noticing or do you even notice what I need?’

(I guess after Isabela leaves) Fernando goes to Ana’s room. Can I come in?...

Can I sit down?

It’s your bed, you bought it and all.

What did Fanny say?

That it has not been long since her mom died. And it is very different to see a new wife than a new mom.

Fernando starts talking about his ‘relationship with Isabela… we are just starting… Evidently I cannot have a relationship unless my kids approve…’

Nando and Fanny talk about him and Ximena… he is confused… the first time she sent him packing, then yesterday at school she seemed to like him. Fanny tells him maybe Ximena made a bet with someone else about him… Nando asks ‘has she ever talked to you about me?’ ‘Nope.’ Nando asks her for the favor to find out/investigate.

Ana/Fernando.

She suggests he talk to Fanny, dialogue is the solution. (communication)… She nags that he always bails out of issues saying he has lots of work and no time for his kids. He argues 'that's right! i have a LOT OF WORK!!' They end up arguing loudly in her room… He wants her to explain it to him. Why are you angry? She repeats what he had told Isabela: ‘Maybe I am a different, exotic, picturesque… Vulgar!! Me Vulgar, sir??!’ ‘I offer you an apology… I did not know you were spying’. ‘I was not spying, I was looking for Luz’s turtle.’ They end up again touching, his hands on her shoulder . he admits ‘I care very much about what you think of me. I care about what my kids think of me and you are the closest person to them… I also care about finding out … what do they think of me…’ (again they are shouting). ‘Do you really want to know? Usually I think you are a block of ice… you are more square than a cereal box! ‘ ‘ cereal boxes are rectangular, not square!’ ‘you are soo OB_SE_SSS_IVE!!! even with the cereal box!... You are someone who does not know what your kids think… because you are missing what is most important in this world!...’ ‘what is that?’ ‘LOOOOOOVE!!’ (suddenly he got depressed/slightly irritated, she is feeling guilty about having unloaded on him like that). ‘are you finished?’ … ‘Yes’. (he leaves quietly, she is feeling real bad)

Ana is alone in kitchen… ‘me and my big mouth’… ‘earlier he was in birthday mood, so happy, then we are like cats and dogs again… what can I do… how about a hug?’ She runs out… She goes to Fernando’s room door… she wants to apologize… (we hear his voice from the other side of the door) ‘Is this an emergency?’ ‘yes it is!’ he opens the door, she looses her balance when the door opens and ends up hugging him, and feels really awkward when she notices he is completely wrapped in suds… (supposedly he is naked or just has a towel )… he can’t even open his eyes… ‘I came to offer you an apology but… I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier and for right now.’ ‘we are even now… because the other day I found you in underwear (panos menores)’… (she finally gets her arms off him and they are about a foot apart) ‘you are an excellent dad, good with kids… responsible… ‘ (she is trying hard not to look at him but she can’t help it… ‘can we continue the talk… later?’ ‘of course sir! Good night, get some rest… (she closes the door and is admiring what she just saw)

Ana takes the train to meet her mom, apparently at a mall… She is nervous. She stares at all middle aged women that walk by… Finally a woman in yellow scarf comes up the escalator. Ana sees her… Maria! Maria! … Maria is crying… hugs Ana.. (very nice mom song again is playing, now a different section of it) They can only smile at each other at first, in between tears… ‘I had imagined this moment so long… and now that I have you in front of me… I don’t know what to say’. They walk over to a bench to talk. ‘Hija… hija… I don’t know how to begin… my parents forced me to hide my pregnancy… as soon as you were born… they made me give you up for adoption and we were separated… I could not do anything, I was so young… for fear of your rejection… I had to endure the pain of losing you definitely… (mom leans on Ana’s shoulder, they cry together).

Fernando is doing some business at a lobby somewhere, remembers Isabela’s kiss, then remembers Fanny’s insult about forgetting her mom… he calls Fanny’s cel.

Fanny and her friend Ximena with another girl are at school. They are talking about Nando… Ximena says now that Nando is handsome… Fanny not so buying it. Fanny won’t answer Fernando’s call.

Nicolas meets up with Fernando… Fernando asks ‘what did you dress up as?’ ‘its not a costume, it’s my new look!’ Nicolas invites Fernando for drinks at a cool place called ‘Chicago’ (LOL!) … Fernando is not in the mood. Nicolas says ‘give yourself a break.’ ‘When you were my age, I barely got to see you at home’. ‘I am very proud of what I accomplished, but every day I regret not having spent that much time with you all. There are many ways to have fun, but there is only one way to live… for your family.’ ‘Couldn’t you have figured that out about 40 years ago?’ ‘Give your dad a hug!’ (they do hug)

Fanny and Nando, Nando wants debrief of Ximena but Fanny spots Gustavo and takes off, they run to the car and run take off fast…

Ana meets Jennifer and gives her the rundown of her meeting with her mom. She was forced to give me up for adoption ‘ ‘obvious, microbe’… Ana so happy she found her mom… ‘Gracias Diosito!’

At house, Fernando asks Bruno… about sex… (think of a record scratching) Bruno says I am no Subject Matter Expert in that but… why do you ask? Fernando claims it is about a friend… ‘if a woman gives a ma indirect statements about wanting to have intimacy with him… my friend is a bit slow in those matters and understood it a bit later… ‘ Bruno explains that maybe that woman is a bit desperate.

Ana asks Jennifer where she found the window dressings… they are almost new… They will save some more money to get the down payment for a new fridge… maybe the beds… They are talking about it as glass half full… Jennifer thanks Ana for her friendship… what would I do without you… and I without you.

Nando wants Fanny’s debrief… She hesitates, he runs out of patience…’Thanks for nothing!’... Gustavo catches Fanny and roughs her up… Another guy coming on a motorbike arrives and defends Fanny. Gustavo tries to hit him and he swings free and hits Gustavo. Gustavo ends up on the planter full of mudd. The other guy suggests Gustavo leave. Gus yells at Leon ‘this won’t stay like this, Naco!’. Fanny asks him ‘don’t call him Naco, Patan!’ The twins say Gus looks like the monster of the lagoon… Gus leaves mad. Ana comes out with the twins and Seb. ‘who are you?’ ‘I am Leon! I am a messenger for the company, came to drop some papers to Lic Lascurain.’ ‘Go ahead, he is in the library’. Ana asks Fanny what happened. The jerk Gustavo was bothering me and Leon came to defend me. Fanny and Ana comment that Leon is very handsome. As Ana is going to escort Leon inside, he and Fanny share a nice stare.. As Leon goes on, Fanny gestures she loves it… Fanny follows him in, Leon calls her ‘Fannys’ since that is the way Gus called her. Ana corrects him, not Fannys, it’s Fanny. Ana introduces Fanny and Leon. Fanny and Leon shake hands and share a lovely smile. Ana has to come fetch him to go see Fernando.

Ana comes out with Bruno after leaving Leon with Fernando. Bruno asks Ana how it went with her mom. Lovely. Fanny hears that so she wants to hear Ana’s story too. Ana first wants to talk about Leon… he is soooo cute!!!

Inside, Fernando talks to Leon… ‘how long have you been in the company?’ ‘a year’. We learn that Leon is working to pay for school to finish his studies in Graphical design. Fernando seems to like what he hears.

As Leon comes out, Leon asks Ana if she is the maitre ‘d but she corrects him, she is the nanny. Leon then turns to Fanny, who is nervously writing. Leon notices she is faking writing with the eraser end of the pencil. He calls her on it. He asks her if she is Fernando’s daughter. She says ‘yes, I am the oldest, mensajerito (making the hashtag sign)’. She has to explain to him the hand sign. ‘I understand. I am poor but not naïve. And if you give me a recurrent nickname is because you want to see me again, right?’ ‘no, it was just a saying’ ‘alright, take care, ‘Fanita’(making the hashtag sign himself)’. Leon leaves, Fanny and Ana cheer… Ana guesses right that ‘Cupid just left an arrow here’… As Leon is putting his helmet outside, he is also smitten, says ‘very cute/beautiful!’

Ana comes in the library. Fernando asks ‘whats up’. She tells him she met her mother this morning. She grew at an orphanage, had been looking for her mother for years. Her name is Maria, like Jesus’ mother. Fernando smiles, lets her go out. ‘I knew that after all, deep inside you are rete-nice!’ Ana leaves happy. Fernando stays there repeating her words ‘I knew you were so nice… after all…’

Fernando comes in the room where the kids are doing homework at the table… Fernando is not happy with Sebastian’s outfit (Seb has underwear showing and is wearing suspenders). Sebastian says ‘its hip-hop’. Fernando gets really angry and yells at him to wear his normal clothes (pull down his shirt, wear a belt and put cream in his elbows!’… As Fernando leaves, Fanny makes the ‘yes sir!’ signal… outside the door, Fernando freezes, realizes he went a bit overboard.

Ana receives Maria at Johny’s place. Ana explains to Maria that there was an accident and she and her friend lost their house. Ana offers Maria a coffee, but Maria only wants them to talk to get up to speed. Ana tells her ‘I did not tell you all the truth’. Maria says ‘I have no right, what you have done with your life won’t change anything between us’. ‘I have to tell you I am not just a nanny’. ‘I can tell in your eyes that you are a good woman’. ‘I still have to tell you … I am a dancer… I am not sure you saw an antro when you were heading here… called The Chicago… where the clients are mainly men… are you ashamed of me? ‘ ‘ay … no… a mother never feels ashamed of her children’. Ana is so glad. ‘Ay Ana, hija… I know you so little… but I know you are a great person… a great woman… and I want to dedicate my life to get your forgiveness’. ‘I have not spent my life looking for you to demand anything of you… I just love having you with me’. (again another great embrace).

Fanny is in her room with her laptop… ‘how dumb am I… I don’t even have his last name.’ Fernando comes in to talk to her… Fanny asks him if he is dating Isabela.

Lulu (the woman that brought together Ana and her mother with the results from the DNA test) comes in… gives Ana some bad news… ‘there was a mistake… the DNA test was negative. Forgive me but… Maria is not your mother’. Ana is in tears.

Previews: Nicolas goes to the Chicago, Ana gets paranoic, Seems Nicolas recognizes Ana… Later at the house he asks Ana for an explanation… ‘you know what I mean’ (but it is not clear whether it is what Ana is afraid of).

Good workm Marta.

My gut told me during that scene that Maria wasn't Ana's mother. It's way too soon for that discovery.

I find it hard to believe that Ana wouldn't have eaten crab before. Is it that expensive in Mexico?

Interesting that she sees Fernando naked so soon in the game. At least she knows what she's getting !

Thanks, Marta, for such a quick, excellent and detailed recap.

I laughed so much in this episode:

The flying crab at dinner, "Ana la nana" under Fernando's desk hearing him describe her, her apologizing to Fernando fresh out of the shower.

I think that many of us knew that finding her birth mother was not going to be as easy as it seemed. The actress also did not look old enough to be her mother.

On to more fun mañana!

Jarifa

Thanks Marta! I'm on vacation next week, so I'll catch up then. I was amazed Ana already found her mom, then I got to the end of the recap. So sad.

As for first times eating crab, I remember being shocked by how many people had never eaten a whole lobster when I went to school in Boston. The university always had a crab night once a year, and inevitably some lobster novice would accidentally send a part of their lobster flying across the table or cafeteria. So it's not shocking for me to read that a gal who grew up in the orphanages of Mexico City has never had whole crab.

Count me in that group, Vivi, we only had lobster tails and crab legs when I was growing up not in an orphanage but in the big city. That is all I buy /order now. Less work, more meat. Guess I would be like Ana. LOL.

Jarifa

And I meant lobster night.

Jarifa -Since moving to the DC/MD area years ago, I have gone on many crab eating trips to MD with friends, and there is always at least one person who has never eaten whole crab before and/or can't be bothered with all the work it takes. :)

I don't see how Ana thought that could be her mother. The woman clearly told her that her parents disapproved of her pregnancy and took her NEWBORN child from her. In all of her memories, little Ana is definitely around two years old as her mother, with the pretty red nails, plays the guitar for her. Continuity, people!

If they are going to have Sebas try to look "hip-hop" they need to at least research what the look should be. A tight t-shirt, tight pants with suspenders with the underwear over the t-shirt is not it. They should've had him with the huge pants wrapped around his lower thighs and really "sagging" in order to give Fernando apoplexy. It would've been funny instead of stupid.

Marta,
Thanks for the recap. I haven't seen this episode yet, but it sounds good, so I'll watch when I have time.

I am waiting for LQLVMR to be over to dedicate myself entirely to this novella. I am watching daily, just not commenting on a daily basis.

On the lobster/crab convo, I had never had it until about 10 years ago. So I didn't find it odd that Ana had never eaten it before. Can't wait to see that scene with the flying crab, it sounds hilarious.

hasta luego!

Anon-Baggy was so 10 years ago. The guys still wear the pants slung under the underwear, but the pants are now tight and skinny and the shirts are tight. Haven't seen the episode yet to see how close Sebas got to the real look.

add me to those who had never eaten whole crab even though the opportunities have been there. I am middle aged and it had been only recently I adventured into ordering snow crab legs. have yet to jump into whole crabs (smaller). and I am from Puerto Rico. was humble growing up so my parents would not take us to a place where you could order crabs. I love lump crab meat, just don't bother with 'peeling' them.

There is a Greek restaurant in my area that serves King Crab legs. They split them lengthwise so patrons don't have all the hassle of cracking the legs; all you need is the seafood fork.

There is an Italian restaurant on the upper west side that serves Seafood Fra Diavolo. The only problem is that the half-lobster is still in the shell. To me it is a Class A Etiquette Felony to serve it that way in a red sauce in a white-tablecloth restaurant. Now, if THAT had been served at this dinner party the mess would have been hilarious.

Thank you Marta, you clearly were not taking notes with the eraser end

Well they didn't listen to me about the overboard slapstick. I so want to like Silvia Navarro in this but she ain't no Lucy.

Sebastian - Urkle wearing boxers

Ana - yowza call 911 it's always an emergency

Nicolas - take your angina pills

Leon - bet you got plenty of cyber stalkers

Isabela - who needs utensils for flying surf & turf

Fernando - what part of Isabela all up in your grill do you not get

Maria #1 - sorry for you too

Nando - if it seems too good to be true it probably is

Bruno - advise on women? well you are a man I guess

Fanny - OMG

Marta, this was a lovely, detailed recap rife with humor and insight.

"Fernando comes in and is in shock… someone please help him shovel his chin off the floor" had me smiling away.

Enjoyed the kids somewhat gentle put downs of Isa (and really, she makes it quite easy!).

Like Jarifa and others, I really enjoyed the flying crab at dinner as well as your "Isabela - who needs utensils for flying surf & turf" tofie.

The shower scene was really fun and the Fernando/Isa chemistry works well.

Thank you Marta. This was fantastic.

Diana

Thank you, Marta, great detail in your recap and you made me laugh with your LOL comments.

I was sure Maria wouldn't be the mother, too, especially after she made the "abandoned you when you were a baby" comment. The scenes with the both of them made me weep a bit and the song that always plays when Ana remembers her mom is just beautifully chosen.

I agree that some of the characters are over the top, I especially dislike Bruno (although I love Rene Casados); but this is a Televisa comedy, I didn't expect any better from them. They can never find the right balance and they always turn the whole thing into a circus.
I'm solely watching for Silvia Navarro, who is not disappointing me - if Ana is too much at times, that's on the director and the producer.

Sorry the recap is soo long, its just that a lot of the humor last night was in teh word debates between Ana, the kids and Isabela and then the convos between Ana and Fernando in his room and then in hers.
so what did Isabela say Ana was?
also, did Fernando call Ana 'vulgar' at any point before?

i am so glad i taped this ep on the living room tv... it is a classic.

Tks for the great recap.

Funny buuuut, who comes to the door covered in suds, especially someone as up tight as Fernando? I also thought Maria was too young to be the mom.

I once sent a stone crab shell across a restaurant. They probably have the hardest shell of all. There is a special cracker for them. Otherwise you have to wrap them in a towel & hit them with a hammer. Only the big claw is served, the crab will regrow another one.

Great recap, Marta.

Just one little correction - when Leon was heading out the house, he used the hashtag and said "bonita", not "Fanita".

Adriana

I agree that they are going overboard with the "comedy" which gets old quickly. While the flying crab was funny I didn't think it particularly appropriate for Fernando to laugh and I though Ana spitting up the meat was both vulgar and unnecessary. It all probably stems from having grown up with strict behavior and eating rules.

I was surprised to see the crab served whole. I grew up in San Francisco with its glorious dungeness crab and it is always served broken down into the claws, the legs and the body. And the body is cleaned. Then you need only a cracker and a pick to pull th meat out of the shell. God I miss being able to eat it. (It doesn't freeze well and i live in AZ). Then again their are other variety ies of crab that are eatten whole.

Fern should not browbeat himself over talking to Sebastian about having his underwear showing. He looked ridiculous not hip like he thought.

Gee, I have to admit that I have never eaten a whole crab or lobster...only lobster tails and crab cakes. ..as a landlocked Northeastern U.S. girl even though I have been vacationing at the Jersey shore almost every year since I was a kid. I am still not a seafood lover like hub , so I will probably never tackle a whole lobster or crab. Too much trouble. My college roommate used to rent a place at the shore for about a month every year, and her favorite story was when college friends came to visit and bought live lobsters. Chaos ensued as they tried to get the lobsters into the pot. I am glad that I wasn't there for that fiasco.

Thank you, Marta. What a great episode and recap.
I had several good laughs, too, and had to smile over Fernando's correction of Ana -- a cereal box is a rectangle. He is indeed Senior Hielo whose personality Ana will slowly but surely fix!

Never eat crab from the shell, only lobster parts. A true treat, I am told, but never grabbed me.

Enjoyed your recap so much Marta.

Poor Fernando is starting to see the light, but I think he's been so set in his ways, this will be a long, maybe painful, journey for him. I'm guessing that his wife had been the one who really dealt with the kids and was the affectionate one. He does show he loves his kids, and they know that, but he is strict, more severe (lord I just want to get him out of that suit when he's not at work) and a tad out of touch. His change will be interesting to see.

Poor Ana--but my guess is that this Maria will stay in the story somehow.

Leon is a keeper.

Daisynjay

Unknown to Isabela, the best aphrodisiac in her game will be the discovery Ana a stripper. Fernando will run to her like a dog on a June bug then. He might think Ana exotic but not wife material.

Thanks, Marta!

Why were they having such a fancy dinner, when the occasion only seemed to be that Isa was coming over to do some work? Did they actually get any work done?

Fern may be uptight, but I think most parents, even one like him, would jump right out of the shower if someone said it was an EMERGENCY. He probably thought one of the kids was hurt or something, not that Ana felt like smoothing things over.

I've never eaten either lobster or crab from the shell. Then again, I do not like seafood. I would like to think that if I were presented with one at a dinner and needed to be polite and just eat it, I would be able to observe and do what the other people do. But realistically, I am a klutz and I'm sure I'd be the one sending seabug parts sailing through the air.

I've seen both the saggy sagging pants and the skinny sagging pants. I think if Sebastian didn't have on Nando's suspenders he would've gotten it right. I laughed at that scene because he looked like "Urkel Gone Hip Hop."

I don't generally think a woman making sexual overtures is desperate. However, Isabela has known Fernando for 3 minutes and is trying to lure him in bed, so in Isabela's case she is desperate.

I would not be surprised we will soon see the same nightmare scene Ana had with Johny as a vampire, but this time it will be Fernando and the vampiress will be Isabela. Or maybe Ana, if he gets the wrong impression of her?

Oh, boy, all this lobster talk...yummy!
As far as I can remember I've only eaten lobster once, in my honeymoon and it was a pasta plate mainly. I did love it, but I think it's just too much work, removing the shell, making sure that the food doesn't fly into someone else's cleavage...

So Isabela is being incredibly rude with Ana, all the kids notice, even the 5 year old, but the man of the house, the rich and worldly empresario, remains clueless - only in a telenovela.

I don't feel the chemistry between the two leads. Perhaps that's because I have only watched the male stripper scene. Speaking of male strippers. ..where were they?

Cynderella

Well, the kids aren't having their hormones all stirred up and their brains turned to mush with all Isabela's inappropriate forced intimacy, the way Fernando is. Of course their view of her is clearer.

I love seafood, especially lobster. There is a restaurant I go to in Chinatown where you get 2 lobsters with ginger and scallions for $24. Delish!

I definitely see Isabella as a vampire in somebody's future nightmare.

And yes; Maria is too young to be Ana's mother.

I like Jorge Salinas, Silvia Navarro, Rene Casados, Mayrin Villanueva and Pablo Montero. I even like (some) comedies. And yet, I can't stand this poorly written, over-acted, ridiculous excuse for a tn. Gave it more than a week and it just keeps getting worse and worse. I'm out of here!

Thanks for this most excellent recap Marta. Well done and very entertaining.

Thanks for your recap yesterday, Eli. I didn't get to comment yesterday because I ended up watching both Tue.'s and Wed.'s episodes this morning.

The food was beautiful and very familiar. However, I was surprised at the way the folks dressed for such a dinner. We often eat crabs and are actually accustomed to bits of crab flying around (though rarely entire crabs) when we do and dress accordingly. There is nothing much more difficult to eat nor as delicious as fresh boiled crab.

Variopinta,

Stone crab is a truly rich treat. I was an adult when I tried my first and was hooked. I especially like the idea that the crabs don't have to die for me to enjoy them, though I'm sure they don't appreciate having their little arms amputated for my dining pleasure.

I have fond childhood memories of crabbing (with a piece of bacon tied to a string and a crab net to trap them in) on Galveston Bay (beautiful Gulf blue crabs) and then later that evening watching my mom pitch them kicking and squealing (silently of course) into a huge pot of boiling water (so chock full of seasonings and spices that one couldn't avoid coughing and/or sneezing upon catching whiff). A cheap, luxurious treat. No special food prepared for the kiddies, we'd eat them outdoors on a picnic table covered with newspapers.

Cynderella, like you, I'm waiting to see some chemistry between these two. As I mentioned when the TN premiered, I saw Labios Rojos and while both were cute separately, I really didn't detect any real sparks.

Carlos

BTW, just thought you'd all like to see the winner of Miss Pole Dance 2012. Somehow I always knew this was meant to be done barefoot.

Great job Marta, never apologize for wordy recap. It helped explain a lot.

I never had lobster or Crab growing up in landlocked Pennsylvania. I had my first crab when I lived on Maryland, and I had to be shown how to eat it and what parts to eat. Same with Lobster. I have it every christmas eve now but I need to be shown every time how to open it to get the meat. It's not obvious how to do it.
I'm pretty sure that Fernando had a towel on when he answered the door. He knew that Ana was there. But it was kind of a funny scene, so I'll give them that one. The crab flying was funny too, but the spitting out of the meat wasn't funny and very rude.

I love Mayrin playing a vixen bad girl. She is very good at it. The only time I saw her before she was in Mentir Para Vivir as a good person and a good mother, she was very natural with her daughter on it, so I know she's doing a great joba acting as a woman who doesn't understand or get along well with kids.

Cliche poor boy going to school to get a degree and needs to work while he's doing it. But he is cute.
