Mi Corazón es Tuyo Lunes 7/28/14 #6

Capitulo 6: Apologies

Lascuráin Manor, Parlour: Johnny makes a royal fool of himself in collecting the wine glasses from Fernando's guests when Ana enters with the tray of canapés. They are both startled and drop everything. Ana hurriedly starts cleaning up. Johnny [the idiot] claims to have seen a cockroach. Fernando tells Ana to get Bruno ASAP. She leaves the room wishing she didn't have to come back.
Two, two, two fashion faux pas at once!

Fernando suggests that his guests sit down. Isabel makes sure to take the too-small space next to him on one of the matching chairs [No, no; not the comfy chair!] The Italian ambassador and his wife – who look like something out of La Dolce Vita – take the couch.
Busted!

Kitchen: Ana take Bruno's apron and rushes him out to the parlour, then throws the apron at Johnny, demanding to know what he's doing there. He tells her that two of Don Doroteo's henchmen overheard someone saying she intended to quit and he came to find out her real intentions. The boss won't like it one bit that she has decided not to return. She tells him she intends to renegotiate that contract because she doesn't want to work there anymore. She has been getting no sleep since all this started and she can't even sleep for the anxiety. He thought she wanted to stay at the mansion for other reasons. When he tries to embrace her from behind she wriggles out of his grasp. He's already jealous of Fernando, whom he defensively says is no great shakes. [Note to Johnny: We beg to differ.] She's annoyed with him for what he said the night before. They argue as he strips off the waiter's uniform to put his purple shirt back on so he can leave. He starts going on that he stands to lose his job, etc., as he exits.

Gustavo's Place: Fanny is getting nervous as she prepares – or doesn't – to get her freak on with her blonde somewhat grown cherub. He asks who should strip first and when she hesitates he takes off his shirt [Note: That's two males so far with no chest hair]. He kneels near the foot of the bed and grabs her. He's clearly not very experienced at any of this as he starts kissing her without any of the verbal foreplay that experienced women need, let alone a virgin like Fanny.
Dude, she's not that into you.
Ana's words echo in her mind that this should be something special. She finally backs up and tells him it's not right. She was expecting it to be different. He gets mad and tries to grab her again but she gets away. As she gets out the door he calls her a tease and more. He's too much like a little boy whose favorite toy has just been taken away by an exasperated parent.

Lascuráin Manor, Study: Fernando and Isabel enter with her praising him for the success of the business discussion. Ana, meanwhile, is talking on her cell as she quietly descends the stairs to head to the Chicago Club.
Secret mission
She can't resist eavesdropping and she sees Isabel coming onto him, ultimately provoking him to say that she's a beautiful, intelligent woman, etc. She cajoles him into a kiss, which she is obviously enjoying more than he is.
That bitch doesn't waste any time.
“That bitch doesn't waste any time,” Ana says to herself at the door. She departs in disgust and as though mind-melded by Vulcans, Fernando breaks off the kiss almost immediately. Isabel asks what's wrong and Fernando is staring at the photo of himself and his wife that sits on the wall just above eye level.

The goon squad strikes

Street: The same thugs who overheard the conversations grab Johnny in a chokehold and prepare for a beat-down. Ana arrives just before it starts and implores the men to stop it. However, they won't and the largest goon throws him down and begins kicking him. She begins shouting at them to stop, but two goons now hold her back while the third one beats Johnny as well as punching him in the face. Finally he picks him up and prepares to slit his throat. The others tell Ana she has to complete her contract or he'll be sleeping with the fishes.
Apologies
She agrees, they stop and walk away, leaving Johnny on the sidewalk. Ana rushes to him and tells him to forgive her. She'll do it and everything will be alright. [No, it won't.] She yells for someone to call an ambulance.

Lascuráin Manor, Study: Fernando apologises and as he starts to explain Isabel notices the photo. He tells her his wife died only a year ago and he's not ready for this yet. She pretends to be understanding and that waiting will be beautiful. She moves in close enough to kiss him again, but doesn't. Instead she tells him to rest. He looks a bit shocked. Then she walks out, telling herself to be patient. He notices her purse [which she probably left there on purpose] and hurries out to hand it to her.

Hospital: Ana leads Johnny inside, accepting the blame for all this and promising that she won't let anything worse happen to him. [She's also going to end up late again.]
The dry look is a big improvement

Nando's Room: He looks rather cute without all that stuff in his hair as he looks at pictures of Ximena on the internet. He exits out of that page as his dad enters the room to talk. He claims not to be an expert on women, but is willing to talk. Nando apologises in advance but says “I don't want to be like you.”
60's Revision

Chicago Club: The other chicks were dancing it up with poles and chairs as Ana took the heat for being late and for not having been there on the weekend. She tried telling Doroteo [He doesn't deserve the respect of the Don title] that he's being unfair having Johnny beaten up for this; she had to get him to an emergency room.
Ana on the warpath
She went on to explain she has a second job and isn't getting any sleep. Slamming his hands on the money he gets for exploiting her and the other girls he told her this isn't his problem. She's there to do her dance y punto. She ordered the goons not to manhandle her again as she left.
The facts of life

Nando's Room: Fernando told his son that discipline is the only road to success in one's work. Nando disagreed, saying the only success is happiness. Fernando got the hint that his son isn't happy. The boy explains that he has no friends, no girlfriend, nobody. “But you have time for that,” Fernando told him. Nando reminded him that he has had nobody since his mother died. “And a father who is interested in nothing but work. You give nothing of yourself. I don't want to be like you because I know you are also unhappy. I'm sorry but I don't understand. You and I don't understand each other. Well, now I'd like to go to sleep.” He didn't see the look on his father's face, but he definitely hit home.

Fanny's Room: Ana came back to hear her crying. She knocked before entering and Fanny finally told her that Gustavo had been a jerk and nothing happened after all. Ana was relieved to hear this, telling her that it will be right when the guy is gentlemanly and romantic. She embraces her and lets her cry it out.

The Next Morning:

Ana's Room: Bruno told Ana that the next day is Don Fernando's birthday and the kids would like to have a party for him. Traditionally this was not particularly welcome. However, Ana likes the idea.

Kids' Playroom: Nando – and his Greaser Kid Stuff – tell the others he needs quiet to do his homework. Ana tries to get the other kids excited about their dad's birthday and the things they will do.
Nando's not on board
Nando finally gets up and says that since their mother died, nobody's birthday has been celebrated in their house. Nando said that it hasn't been the same without their mother so not to count on him. He left the room as Ana got the other kids talking.

Nando's Room: Nernando is back in full force, plugging away at the computer and the books as Ana entered. He wants nothing to do with his father's birthday party.
The trust is broken
Ana backs off a little, saying she has to ask something about his dad. Nando has realized that she was the one who told his father he had problems, but sarcastically informs her it didn't work and thanks for nada. Ana wasn't put off by this, telling him they will celebrate his father's birthday.

Kitchen: Manuela entered with Bruno following. He reproached her for walking out the day before when there were important guests. Ana walks in briefly and Manuela almost picks a fight with her. Stalemate.

La Costeña Offices: Nando arrived to talk to his father; Isabel is already there and tells him that Fernando is in an important meeting. He asked her for suggestions for a birthday gift and she suggested a good autobiographical book with a dedication on the front page. Of course she didn't say this, but she intends to be there, too. He thanks her and she asks why he doesn't come down to the office more often.
Nando gets the wrong idea
She tells him she has a lot to do and almost flirts with him as she goes into his office. She reproaches herself for not remembering his birthday, then calls her secretary to make reservations in an upscale restaurant. 15 guests, all the most important. She hangs up the phone as he returns.
Lady, he's not that into you
They were awkward with each other when he walked in, but she told him about making dinner arrangements for his birthday. He's a little uneasy at the idea, but she talks him into it.
A vampire's dream
She sensed reluctance in him as she left his office so she told him, “Don't worry; all in good time.”

The tragic news

He thought back to the diagnosis of his wife's illness. He could not accept that she was terminally ill and that nothing could help. He railed, cried, and ended up being comforted by her.
He's still not over it.
He cried briefly at the memory.

Lascuráin Manor, Study: Manuela apologised to Ana over the client dinner. Her jealousy got the better of her. They did a high five and made up.

Chicago Club, Dressing Room: Nonsense about Johnny reading a book on small business management and he's wondering how much start-up dinero he needs. [He better not try to get that from Ana. And why does Jennifer need those stupid neon wigs?]

The Next Morning

Lascuráin Manor, Kitchen: Ana asks how the planning is going and about the gifts. Bruno jokes that it's a disaster. Fanny puts a huge wig over Sebastian [Is he meant to impersonate Cousin Itt?] The twins had Abuelo help [We haven't seen him since the opening episode.], Sebastian bought a CD of hip-hop music. [Ugh!] and Alicia brings up the possibility that Dad may have made other plans. [A quick glance at the office shows that Isabel is working on her plans]. Ana suggested that the kids surprise him in the morning, but they all refused. Ana then suggested they all act like it's any other day until he comes home from work that night.

They all agreed to this just as Fernando entered the kitchen. Bruno greeted him, handed him his morning coffee, and Fernando went on about what a beautiful day it was. The kids ignored him, even when he announced he was leaving for work. This isn't usual for them so he asked whether there wasn't something they wanted to tell him. They all maintained poker faces as he closed the sliding doors and left. He did hear them cheer and grossly misinterpreted this as them being happy he's off to the office.

Ana called Beatrice (the receptionist) to make sure she reminds him to get home in time for dinner. As she ended the call she hoped Fernando would like the gift she bought him.
Be careful whom you trust

La Costeña Offices: No sooner did Beatrice hang up when Isabel came marching in with a large box. Beatrice handed her the note with Ana's message and she made a remark about
If she had a mustache, she'd be twirling it now.
“You think I know every second of his day,” before crumpling it with a sour expression. She then went into his office with the box, wishing him a happy birthday. He told her she was the first person to remember his birthday. Of course she had to ask whether his children did and he admitted they had not. She encouraged him to open the box, which contained a new black leather briefcase.
Leticia Baldridge would send her to Etiquette Hell for this.
She then forced an embrace, he said they'd better get on with the day, and she talked about the dinner party that evening. As she started getting into the details, he thought again about his wife.
The impossible goodbye.
About how he would tell their children about her impending death. Nando and Fanny walked into the dream sequence and they show the scene where her portrait was revealed.
The portrait

Lascuráin Manor, Parlour: Bruno, Don Nicolas, and Ana were trying to prepare for the evening's festivities when Bruno mentioned that Fernando's secretary said he was going to dinner with friends.
The best-laid plans
Don Nicolas ranted about his son's workaholism, and Ana said something had to be done just as the kids all returned from school. They were all ready for something that now might not happen. She sent them upstairs to clean up and change.

The Mall: Don Nicolas took the kids to the mall to shop for gifts. They split up to head in different directions. Sebastian went to a gypsy fortune teller to get his dad's horoscope [which might actually go over like a lead balloon].
The oracle
It looks like Mama Gypsy is teaching her daughter the tricks of the trade; the daughter asks if Sebastian has a picture of his father. He took out a photo of his parents and she commented on how handsome his father was and how much he looked like his mother. He told her that his mother died.
Eenie, meanie, chili beanie, the spirits are about to speak!”
The girl gave her condolences and then did her abracadabra on the crystal ball on the table.

The others had already reconned in the mall and had their purchases and panicked that Sebastian was late. He was still sitting in the gypsies' booth where Little Miss Gypsy looked into the crystal ball and said she saw a wedding. Sebastian was confused. Mama Gypsy looked and told him his dad would marry a woman who danced with the angels. She saw two women, one with dark hair and one with blonde hair. She couldn't tell him which one. He asked “Is my dad happy?” and she answered “That will depend on him.”

La Estrella Ristorante: Ana arrived in a cab and explained to the security guard she needed to see Señor Lascuráin. He refused, she told him it was a matter of life or death, and eventually she had to threaten to punch him out.
No man can stand up to a woman with a pole.
He was a little freaked out and she tried to get past him. Two others forced her to the other side of the taxi path. She slipped and fell, then got up and sat down to calm down. Don Fernando's chauffeured car pulled up and Ana recognized it. She knocked on the window to get Fernando's attention. He got out and started to ask what was happening when Isabel got out on the curb side with a sneer and a “Damn, that's the nanny again.” Ana asked Fernando if they could talk immediately and Isabel asked if it could wait until tomorrow because many important people were waiting.
Priorities
Ana parried by saying that she had far more important people to talk about. A couple arrived, the woman dressed in an ankle-length formal gown. Isabel greeted them and went to escort them inside.

Trophies and their owners

Fernando asked Ana what this was all about. She told him that his children were waiting for him to come home to his birthday party. His secretary should have told him.
Bigger priorities

My children prepared a party for me? Nobody said anything this morning.” He was stunned.

They were pretending because they wanted to surprise you,” Ana told him. He was just getting over this when Isabel returned.

So what is going on now?”
Don't worry; I understand” NOT.

I was just explaining to him that his children have planned a birthday party for him. Dinner is ready, so are the play, the music, everything.

I didn't know anything about it,” he said. “Isabella, please give my regrets. I need to go home to be with my children.” Isabella pretended to understand and said not to worry as Ana spirited him back to the car.
Curses!”

Curses!” she said, when they were far enough away.
Your children are waiting for you.”
How could you even think of dining with friends when your children are waiting for you?” Ana asked.

No, never,” said Fernando. “My children come first. Always.”

Oh, just when I thought you were so cold,” Ana said, amused.

What did you say?” he asked.

Oh, only that it was cold, very cold, but you seem dressed for it,” she said.

He helped her into the car and got in on the other side.

So what have they planned?”

They're doing something musical, a play...”

Seriously?”

Yes.”
You're behind all this.”

Electricity
I'm sure you're enjoying all of this.”

I? Really” she asked, with mock innocence. Then their hands locked. Both felt the shock.

Urban- Loved the photos and the recap. I haven't caught up on this show yet, so the recaps are my only way of keeping up right now.

Glad that Fanny came to her senses before going all the way with that boy. Now, how is Ana going to get out of her mess? No way she can keep up with this schedule/double life. She could continue to hide out in Richville, but the thugs would likely take it out of Jennifer (I don't care about Johnny).

That actor who plays randy Gus looks like Carlos de la Mota's little brother (Refugio on LQLVMR).

Part of the plot of this series is certainly that Ana will not be able to sustain this 24/7 work schedule. One can even argue that being a nanny to five kids and a mentor to two more is substantially more exhausting than the pole dancing job.

My current hope for her is that Fernando falls in love with her before he finds out about this. He might then -- after some inevitable conflict -- buy out her "contract" so she never has to see that place again.

And yes, the actor playing Gus does look like he's related to Carlos de la Mota. The character was sort of cute until we realized he had no game.

Urban, great recap!
what they had to do when the kids got home from school was precisely taking them to the mall to buy their dad his gifts.

This novela is popular in Mex. That means it will be long... and it will be a lot of the villainess getting away with a lot while Ana suffers... but if the comedy part continues, it will be bearable... and I love JS and Sylvia chemistry so far. tonight should be awesome... except that Isabel plans to come to spoil it... we'll see.
I like how Fanny and Ana are getting very close and Ana will be the (not quite motherly) big sister figure for her that she needs. yes, when I heard Sebastian bought his dad a hip hop CD i felt the same. UGH!!

thanks UA what a great piece of work. “Eenie, meanie, chili beanie, the spirits are about to speak!”

Jorge Salinas is in the house. Silvia calmed down a bit. If she pulls it back a little more will be good for me.

Know this is "sound of music" with a "pretty woman" twist but Ana is a hard sell as acceptable for Fernando. That club and the folks she works for were never interested in her artistic expression and she knew it. It's a seedy place run by seedy men including her manager/boyfriend Juan. What a disappointment Fernando is in for.

Isabela - patience she'll screw up

Fanny - yes to the no

Manuela - did I miss something, why the turn about?

Ana - wear some sensible shoes but doubt you got em

Nando - and I thought Ana had the identity crisis

Fernando - lesson 1. always check in with the nanny

Juan - put your disco shirt back on

Gus - no wonder you ain't got none

Doroteo - don't care if you were a nun, you signed a contract

I think they've already set it up that Fernando will hit the roof when he finds out about Ana's first profession, by emphasizing how straight laced he is. It's not just that he's educated and rich and from a "good" family. But also that he is uptight in general. This will surely end in tears and lots of yelling when the truth comes out.

I mean, Captain Van Trapp hit the roof when he found out Maria was allowing his children to play and frolic about the Austrian countryside in curtain clothes, and she was a virginal nun! Just imagine had Maria also been a cabaret dancer entertaining the Nazis at night!

oh, god Vivi you sooooooooo funny. Yeah, I want a front row seat

Urban, thank you for another great recap!

The fortune teller looked familiar and it is the actor that played "Ray" on PEAM: Maryliz León.

I so hated seeing drama rear its ugly head in the comedy last night. I know it is part of the formula BUT they could include less serious stuff than a man who could lose his life because his "girl" crossed a shady nightclub owner. How about the threat being something like him threatening to send her new employer a video of her pole performance or kidnapping her new employer and showing him her pole performance live. The level of violence and the level of comedy are very incongruous but that is what the genre is known for, no? I'll get off my soapbox now. : )

It was great seeing Isabella getting out maneuvered. Loved seeing the backstory on Fernando and the family. Loved the word play with "hueva" meaning both "lazy" (flojo) and "fish roe" (caviar).

Jarifa

Thanks for the wonderful recap!!

I was very happy when Fernando dropped everything to be with his kids on his birthday. I was afraid he may dither, thinking of his guests. But all is right in this world!

Hey, we know that Johnny will get his "Dear John" letter eventually. Ana is probably falling for Fernando as we write these comments.

Here's hoping we don't have to suffer too much through Sebastian's favorite music.

That's twice now that Fernando has put his kids first and both times in front of Isabella. That should tell her something and it certainly is telling us that he is a good and caring man if buried in his work.

I too wonder WTH is a nanny running around in stilettos while on the job.

Oh no the dreaded popular in Mexico indication we are in for a long ride. This would be so good if it was kept short and snappy but with the prospect of a drawn out story I already find myself drawing away a bit.

What is with the two new novelas being hyped? A Ruffo number and Pedro Fernandez (which looks awful). What ever happened to La Gata? Is it a flop?

We know Televisa recycles props, but I never thought I would see the same prop in two novelas being broadcast at the same time. Remember Tad's Warholesque painting of Irene, with four images of her on one canvas? It is now used as wall decor in the Chicago dive on MCET, on a wall "just to the right" of the stage. Which makes it that much more obvious, because on DQTQTQ it appears on a wall "just to the right" of Tad's living room.

If Isabela were truly smart, she'd try to get in good with the children instead of trying to separate them from Fernando. She saw how he ran home to his kids when Mrs. Investor was there, and how Mrs. Investor decided because of the love of his kids, she was going to invest. Isabela should get a clue and use that to her advantage. At least one of the kids (probably Luz or Fanny) will be hip to the vibora Isabela really is.

Mama Fanny was going to die anyway but I wonder if somebody helped her die a little sooner?

Welcome back, Anon207.

Isabella does not like children. That is a common characteristic of villanas at Televisa (and something that gets on my last nerve). Without her saying so yet I can tell you that she is already researching the boarding schools to ship these kids off to once she gets her claws into Fernando.

As to a nanny wearing heels, they'd be Ana's own. Also I think Fernando sees her role differently from Ana's view. The uniform is more like that of a boarding school teacher and I believe he was looking for a more schoolmistressy woman than a nanny really should be. He is a lot more concerned with the children's academic achievement than their social development, which he should be giving more attention to.

But at least he realized that there is something in Ana that made Luz want to talk again.

Adriana Noel here

Thank you, Urban!
I've only had time to read part of the recap in my lunch break, hopefully I have time for it later at home. Thank you for all the photos, I know how much time those take.

I don't get ANY woman who can stay in stillettos all day long, so Ana wearing them in the house is beyond me.

Decie girl, I think the Pedro Fernandez tn just started but I am watching the Victoria Ruffo one (La Malquerida) and I LOVE it.
It's very twisted and incestuous, what's there not to like? :)

Thank you for the recap, I was unable to watch the episode last night so this really helped!

Ha, there's no way in HELL that I'd watch LA Gata, it's CI 2.0, all the way down to Maites horrible hair. Nope, nope, nope, not gonna watch!

Another fantastic recap UA. Screen shots were wonderful.

“Isabel makes sure to take the too-small space next to him on one of the matching chairs [No, no; not the comfy chair!]” and “He's already jealous of Fernando, whom he defensively says is no great shakes. [Note to Johnny: We beg to differ] were excellent but "as though mind-melded by Vulcans, Fernando breaks off the kiss almost immediately" was my favorite.

I also thought Gus looked like Carlos's little brother Anon. I had to look twice.

Agree with Vivi and you that Ana will not be able to keep up the charade and the double life.

Jonny's beating was brutal and hard to watch.

Isabel hasn't learned one obvious facts. Fernando puts family first. Add that to the fact she's rushing him when he is still clearly mourning the loss of his wife means she is going to need to rethink things. Something she seems more than capable of doing. Sigh.

Your conversation translations are greatly appreciated.

Diana

Thanks, UA! The photos and captions are fantastic, and so is the writeup! It's like seeing the show for a second and third time, and it gets funnier each time with your spin.

Silly Goose. With moves like that, I hope he will stay uncoupled for a long, long time. What a moron. How long was he smooching Fannie and not noticing how much she was hating it? I think he looks like a cross between Carlos de la Mota and David Bisbal.

I volunteered for this series because I adore JS and like SN. Here's also hoping we'll get to see AU dance because he got really good during Bailando Por un Sueno.

If JS can dance, he'd be my ideal man!

And when does Diego get back? It's time for him to shake things up a bit more.

The other reason I volunteered is to finally make it through a Televisa comedy novela. The only one I got close to on that was PESE and I dropped out for a while because of the horrible misogyny that was represented as normal. Not in these times, folks!

Julia, good call on David Bisbal except that this cherubic actor is mucho mas taller. David Bisbal is about 5'6". He has great dance moves, but could never become a galan de telenovelas unless there is a very petite lead actress.

Thanks UA, terrific detail and I love the pictures. I need to learn how to do that for my recaps.

If you have Microsoft Paint or a similar program you do this:

1. When the right image comes up hit the button marked "Prt Sc Sys Rq"
2. Past that image into the Paint program.
3. Use the cropping tool to outline the image you want
4. Do "copy"
5. Paste into new blank screen from Paint.
6. Save file.

This time I had the most fun with the captions.

I don't like the violence they're showing, but I do appreciate that they aren't glamorizing Ana's pole-dancing life. Even when she was talking about how she loves to dance, she mentioned that she had wanted to be a different kind of dancer. Maybe she'll eventually find a way to get into another arena of dance so that she can do what she loves without having to deal with sleazy bosses or gross customers. I wish Esme on LQLVMR would do that. She owns her club! She could turn it into a different kind of dance place if she wanted to!

But I'm worried that most of the dancing we see on this show might be Sebastian's beginner hip hop stylings. I hope not. I wonder if Ana's and Fernando's Edelweiss moment might have to be a hip hop. So romantic.

I think Ana could make the double schedule work for awhile, if she weren't also trying to study to be able to help them with their homework. They're at school much of the day, five days a week, and she could use that time to catch up on sleep.

I was surprised that Isabella wasn't smarter in her dealings with Fer, then realized it's because she's not the type to understand that a year isn't enough time to mourn a beloved wife and his kids are his life.

Isabela is a what I want and when I want it and for her this is like closing a big deal and emotion has noting to do with it. The kids are an encumbrance to be managed around.

She not only doesn't understand, she doesn't want to understand.

Isabella doesn't want the package deal. She wants Fernando and his dinero (The latter is actually more important to her). She could be the archetypical Wicked Stepmother. If the writers really go off the rails she could end up being like Veronica in PEAM.

UA - Thank you for the great recap and wonderful screen shots -- so well chosen! I love Ana on the warpath.

It is so hard to sustain humor over many, many months, particularly this antic, slapstick brand. I have watched a score of Mexican comedies and given up around episode 60, checking occasionally to get the gist. I really liked Las Tontas no van al Cielo, but too long, too silly, too much. Again, hung in and then fell out.

I have great hopes for this and am still getting a good laugh or two out of every episode. The tender scenes are so well done that I can't resist those either. Can't wait to see the birthday bash.

Some shows do better. I actually thought Gancho and Llena de Amor got funnier later in the run, when they started coming up with new stuff. In Gancho, we had the whole secret identity stuff with the bug suit that was pretty entertaining. And the sessions with Constanza and Beto and the shrink were hilarious.

In Llena de Amor, there were things like Gretel and what's-his-guts, the poli who pretended to be a shrink, and their secret identities, plus some amusing bits with Emanuel flirting with vases and such.

Basically it seems I love secret identity and psychiatry humor, so I guess we need some of that :).

Julia,

I agree that some good moments developed in Llena. I was burned out on it by then, but did like just what you have described. I really liked the Gretel character as she recovered from the abuse and showed considerable spunk.

Did anyone notice the "Mi Corazon es Tuyo" logo on the back of the LCD monitor in Fernando's office?

Fortunately, the image that UA put up with the caption "A vampire's dream" shows the logo albeit a bit small.

UA, how do you watch the novella? Are you using a video capture device that allows you to watch TV on your computer? This would explain how you can capture the image using Prt Scrn. If you do, select that Window so it is the active one and then use Alt Prt Screen. This will capture only the active Window.

I use a Hauppauge usb pvr2, although it is not connected to anything right now. Great devices that also let you record the TV show for rewatching it anytime later. UNIVISION announces at the end of the novellas that we can go to UVideos, but not really because I've only been able to watch week old novellas. If you want to see newer ones you have to register by entering (or selecting) your provider ( COMCAST, DISK, etc), so any one watching using a tried and true antenna is outta luck.

Changing the subject drastically, posting the original message (the first 2 paragraphs of this message) was an exercise in frustration. What should have taken me 5 minutes took me a long time (I gave up after about an hour). I was not able to enter the recaptcha distorted text as shown in the image. It was not the "Photo Sphere" that I am seeing now. I must have tried dozens of times, in fact, so much so that the recaptcha display told me that I was an automated process and stopped servicing my requests.

To calm down I decided to make a list of Johnny's endearing qualities. Since I was not able to post earlier and my evenings are somewhat busy, it is unlikely I will attempt to post again.

PS: In case anyone is curious, here is the list of Johnny's endearing qualities:

1. He is a fictional character

It's a longer list than I expected.

I hate how some shows will put the logo all over the sets. The nonsense takes you out of the world of the show. Like in PEAM we were really supposed to believe that everyone would have computers with big "Porque el Amor Manda" logos on them, or have this stitched onto their janitor uniform or whatever? I speculated that Avon might have better productivity if they bought their office equipment from a real computer distributor and not some dippy commune that believes love will provide the computing power. And I'm sure Fernando would be mortified to have such a sappy thing on his monitor where clients and everyone can see it. It is just too too.

Ana has the best body of all the "exotic dancers" but some of her moves are so trashy.

Hello! I like this tn and I admire SN who is a riot as a comedienne. I love the kids too esp Fanny and the oldest boy(name?). Anyway I hope this tn goes as good as AV.
Anyway, speaking of Ana's high heels, I guess the character dancer can't get to see the inappropriateness huh? which brings to my mind, something that drives me crazy. I am watching an old tn, al diablo con los guapos, a girl who always wear a cap, knitted or otherwise. No matter what the occasion, she wears a hat? is it bad hair day, the fashion during that time/ the character's eccentricities or the actress' own personality? I also noticed this in Corona de Lagrimas and Cuidado con Angel. Why? Even if the scene is a formal occasion, these characters ruin it by those crazy caps. Why?

Traveling lady and Carvivlie, have not seen you post before so welcome!

Thanks, Martaivett. I haven't been active on Caray, Caray since Amor Bravio, but love the format and the great posters. It is nice to be back again with SN and JS, too.

I have to admit Mayrin has come a long way from her character of Nicole in La Mentira.

Martavett -- You just reminded me that the last novela I watched was actually Mentir para Vivir with Mayrin. I totally forgot, which says something about the novela. But Mayrin wasn't bad at all and did what she could with a not-great script and a lack of chemistry with David Z. Interesting here to see her as the villain. She really is a beautiful woman. I guess she will now try to figure out how to ingratiate herself with the kids.

LatinainMD,

Good eyes spotting the reused props! Televisa makes telenovelas with a small budget, crew, and cast. The actors don't get paid a lot of money unless they are top tier stars too. They recycle everything from sets, to clothes, and music. Their sponsors help pay by putting their products everywhere. It would be better if they were a lot less obvious.

I also find it really odd how Ana is able to sneak back and forth from the club to the family's house (and fix her hair and makeup!) without anyone noticing. I'm glad the show is doing really well in Mexico, but I hope the writers can keep the drama going because I always lose interest after a few months.

Hey Decie Girl,

The Pedro Fernandez one is called 'Hasta el fin del mundo'. It just started in Mexico on Monday and it's coming to Univision on August 18. It's doing very well in Mexico. 'Mi Corazon' is the #2 show in Mexico for its network on most nights. As for 'La Gata', it looks awful. I want to like Maite's telenovelas, since I was a big fan of hers during RBD, but I don't think I'll watch this one either. It doesn't have the best ratings in Mexico either.

Does anybody know where I can buy the heels that Anna wears the black ones with neon colors ?
