Yes, this is the right place!

Thanks Caroline, NovelaMaven, & Jean for the terrific recaps!

I had gotten behind on Reina but I'm all caught up and ready for tonight.

Can't wait.

I've been out of town since yesterday morning, with NO internet access and NO T'mundo.

So,,,, a big thank you to Caroline and Jean for the recaps! I hope to be caught up by tomorrow.

re: NovelaMaven's grammar note . Isn't the writer of this telenovela from Argentina? That might be why some of these idiomatic phrases slip in?

As for Navier's internal lie detector skillz, apparently they ONLY work inside the CIA building and ONLY when Navier is behind the one-way mirror/glass.

The Stefi/laser/diamond theft scene from Tuesday night . . . that whole thing reminded me of one those Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen movies.

" Since Navier knows that there is a “Reina de Diamantes” and he is the hero of a novela and therefore programmed to believe the evil spoken by those who obviously have bad intentions, he seems to be buying this load of crap."
Jean - this was my favorite line of the entire recap. MuaHahahahaaaa!!!

Jean, thank you for the detailed recap. I used over the air to watch Reina, and I kept losing the signal. Welp i will throw out another crack pot theory since I hope to be a card carrying member of the conspiracy club. I think Fernado San Juan Puerto Rico is El Supremo. Although to me he guessed that the red diamond was stolen, he seemed a bit surprised that it actually was and no one told him. -- Nia

Doris- it is Ocean's 12, my favorite scene. It is when the rival jewel thief explains/shows to Clooney and Roberts how he danced/acrobated his way through the lasers around the jewels. They showed him doing it in a flashback and it was really entertaing.

Penny

Nia- Your theory has already been added to the Crackpot Theory table. So far Fernando is suspected of being:
El Supremo
Stefi's brother
Susana's rapist

Take your pick! I'm sure we can come up with some other Crackpot Theories around him. :)

Thanks for getting the second page started!

Thanks to the recappers, too! I'm two days behind!

I'm not quite caught up (have only had chance to watch Wednesday night's episode) but I am doubting that Fernando SJ is also El Supremo. Wouldn't his voice over the phone be recognizable, and sound like El Supremo's? This is the only reason that gives reason to doubt.

NovelaMaven, thanks for putting up page 2. It wasn't here when I looked earlier.

Doris, I had similar thoughts about the unlikelihood of Fernando's being El Supremo. I suppose he could always disguise his voice over the phone, but if he didn't, yes, Esmeeth would surely recognize it. Also, he seems to me too young. True, almost everyone looks young to me these days [sigh], but even so....

Reina believes Victor lies about the dead man buried in the garden. Victor assures her he speaks the truth. He personally helped her bury the corpse. That's how crazy he was for her! Reina is in disbelief. She's an asesina! She's despicable! She's disgusted with herself. She thinks she doesn't deserve anyone's love not even Victor's. She leaves the room.

Navier leaves Estefania a message on voicemail. He asks her to call him. He has to talk to her. He knows she's not at home and he's worried about her. He hangs up. Our Dragon enters Dragon Mode and inserts the pendrive he found in Victor's office into his secret agent laptop. To his horror he comes upon what is sure to be the beginning of a very dirty sex tap where Victor [his own long lost brother] and some woman are the stars. Que horror!

Greta wants Laz to spill the beans. Who committed Putzcide [Thanks NovelaMaven]? Was it her mom? Was it her dad? Laz swears he doesn't know. He only said he knew so Victor would believe in his innocence. Greta doesn't believe him. She asks if her dad committed Putzcide. Laz replies no. Greta doesn't believe him.

Susana pours her heart out to Juanjo [who comforts her and suprisingly doesn't fall asleep like our dear Greta did when Laz did the same]. Susana can't blame Victor for all her misfortunes. She was at fault as well. For there to be an aggressor there has to be a victim and she stayed with Victor all those years. Susana and Victor were never happily married although they tried to make it seem like they were.

Cue Flashback

Susana, Victor, Camila, Greta, Christian, and Mirta [Christian's wife] are having what appears to be a nice little lucheon between two happily married couples and the children of one of the couples. Mirta has brought Susana a nice little present - a silk scarf. Meanwhile, under the table Christian is receiving a present of his own from Camila - a nice little game of footsie. Mirta says she loves these lucheons they have. They should have them more often. Camila the sweet little angel says she loves these lucheons as well because seeing two happily married couples gives her hope for her future [it baffles me how she was able to keep herself from tossing her lunch after she said this]. Victor pretends to joke around and says that "marriage" and "happy" are words that don't go well together. Susana pretends to joke around as well and says "especially when you are married to Victor De Rosas". They all make a toast.

End Flashback

Susana tells Junajo how she was never able to enjoy having sex with Victor [TMI Susana TMI].

Our Dragon continues to watch sex tapes starring porn star Victor and other women. He recieves a phone call from ex-porn star Estefania. "What? Why? Where are you?" he asks.

THURS PART 2

The following morning, the De Rosas clan appears to be having a nice family breakfast. Victor reads the newspaper like a normal dad and comments on the theft of the red diamond. Big O tells Victor not to cry over it. Victor never cries - he learned that from Big O. The theft of the diamond has left Victor with frustratation because he wanted to give it to Reina. Reina tells Victor she doesn't like diamonds and Victor tells her not to lie. Clara thinks Victor must love Reina so much to have wanted to give her such an expensive diamond. Victor the incurable romantic tells Clara that her mother is worth a lot more. Greta sarcastically comments on how oh so sweet Victor is. Reina and Clara are going to church. Victor wants Navier to accompany them but Navier is not at home. Navier had something urgent to do and asked for Reina to wait for him. Reina can't wait. Victor won't let her go out alone. Clara suggests Victor come along with them. Reina doesn't want Victor to come along so of course Victor says this is a great idea. He will come along with them. It was mentioned during this scene that Estefania had not come home last night.

Estefania is at the hospital and makes a fool out of our Dragon again by making him believe she passed out in her car due to stress and was brought to the hospital. Our Dragon finds it odd that she doesn't have a fever and instead of entering Dragon Mode and grilling her with questions he dismmises it. He will take her home. He'll wait for her outisde and leaves. The doctor comes in and Estefania hands him a wad of cash. She wants it to appear in the records that she was at the hospital all night.

Susana wakes up to a nice breakfast in bed along with a CD and a note from Juanjo. He wants Susana to listen and dance to the CD. He wants Susana to meet him someplace at 11am if she is up for a different kind of morning.

Estefania and Navier arrive at the De Rosas mansion. Estefania wails "Asunciooooooooon" and asks Asuncion for a glass of water. Navier asks Asuncion where Reina is.

Our De Rosas clan and lapdog Isidro arrive at church. Victor whines that he hates mass. He only came because Reina didn't want him to come. Reina and Clara go to greet Padre Pablo. Victor doesn't come along because he hates preists as well. Reina asks Padre Pablo to help her escape. Meanwhile, Connie has arrived at church and walks towards Isidro. Connie yaps away about loving masses and it being a beautiful day. She tells Isidro they could get married at this church. Victor overhears.

Asuncion tells Navier that Reina went to church. Navier thinks Reina should have waited for him. Asuncion leaves. "What could happen to her?" Estefania asks him. "She could die" replies Navier. "Ummm she's at church with HER husband" says Esetefania.

Connie tells Victor she and Isidro are getting married. Isidro is obviously uncomfortable with Connie telling Victor this.

Navier will go look for Reina but Estefania isn't letting him go. Big O and Fernando show up.

Susana arrives at her date with Juanjo. It is at a dancing school. Juanjo wants Susana as his dance partner.

Reina is now in nun's attire and thanks Padre Pablo for his help. Padre Pablo tells Reina she's a good person. Clara is dressed as a boy. She loves costume parties. She says they should have told her dad about the costume party. Reina says she told him about it but he had to leave. Clara goes to the side and Reina hugs Padre Pablo. He gives her his blessing.

Connie continues to yap away about her wedding. Victor brings her down from her cloud by telling her that Isidro doesn't love her. He only got near her to find out all he could about Reina.

Reina and Clara run towards Esmeeth's car. Navier arrives and runs after them. Reina and Clara get into the car and Esmmeth drives off. Navier runs to his car and follows them.

THURS PART 3

Connie wants to hear from Isidro that it is all a lie and that he really does love her. Isidro is silent for a while until he says "yes". "Yes what?" asks Connie. "Did you fall in love with me or did you get close to me because your boss asked me?" she asks him. Connie tells Isidro she does not slap him because they are in church but he surely deserves a good slap. She will never forgive him for this. She leaves heartbroken. Isidro tries to explain but Victor interrupts. He tells his lapdog [who should really not care about Victor's problems and go after Connie] that Reina is gone.

Esmeeth tells Reina that Navier saw them.

Rocky tells Navier that Esmeeth is helping Reina escape. Navier wants to know more.

Esmeeth manages to lose Navier. Reina believes it is better this way. She has no room for a relationship in her new life. There is only room for her and her daughter. She'll step aside so Navier can have a love story with Estefania. Meanwhile, in the back seat Clara is happily listening to tunes via headphones.

Estefania, Big O, and Fernando have breakfast. They talk about the theft of the red diamond and the return of The Black Falcon. Fernando receives a message and excuses himself. He leaves. Estefania picks up a butter knife and walks on over to where Big O is and pokes him with the knife. She calls him a disgusting old man and tells him its not over yet.

Victor tells Padre Pablo that he can't bare to lose another daughter. Padre Pablo tells Victor that Reina wanted to leave. "With who?" Victor asks.

Esmeeth stops the car and wants to know if Reina won't later regret this decision to leave. Reina won't. Esmeeth says their documents will soon be ready so they can leave the USA. In the meantime Esmeeth will take them someplace safe.

Estefania continues to poke the old man with the butter knife. She knows he's the one who sent those men in the parking lot to kill her. Yes he did send the men in the parking lot. He wanted the red diamond and he wanted to see her dead. He tells her she messed with his family. She tells him that she only cares about her daughter. He asks her what about Navier. He tells her that she always got involved with the wrong people. He asks her to put the knife away already! If she wanted to kill him she would have done so already. She tells him that he didn't get what he wanted and he tells her that neither did she. Estefania puts the knife back. She sits back down at the table and continues to enjoy her breakfast.

Victor knows Reina left with some woman. Isidro says Connie is Reina's only friend but had nothing to do with this. Victor thinks Reina will come into contact with Connie. Isidro doesn't think Connie will want to see him again after what Victor told her. Well that is Isidro's problem. Victor has to find Reina.

Susana doesn't want to embarrass herself. Juanjo asks "What embarrasses you the most - dancing the music or dancing with me?"

Navier in Dragon Mode asks Rocky if he's sure Reina will not leave the country. Rocky tells Navier that the documents aren't ready yet. In the meantime Esmeeth will take Reina and Clara someplace safe outside of Las Vagas. Navier wants to go after Reina. He can't abandon her. They are trying to drive her crazy! It isn't just Big O there are other people. Dangerous people. Navier doesn't understand why Esmeeth betrayed him. Rocky says Esmeeth is only doing her job. Rocky says Esmeeth is having a hard time with the theft of the diamond and with the harrasment of El Supremo. Navier asks if Esmeeth will return to Las Vagas. Rocky doesn't know. Rocky says that if Esmeeth doesn't get results she could lose her job and be transferred somewhere else.

THURS PART 4

Susana tries to make excuses to not be Juanjo's dancing partner but she ends up accepting.

Christian informs Laz and Greta that Laz will be arrested again. Greta tells Laz to tell Christian that he saw Victor leaving the putz's hospital room.

Our Dragon arrives at the place where Reina is supposedly at and surprise surprise Reina isn't there. All the Dragon finds is a note from Esmeeth that says "We're not here. This isn't the house...".

Esmeeth brings Reina and Clara to her home. Reina asks Esmeeth why she helps her so much. For sure this isn't part of her job. Esmeeth does this for personal reasons.

Our Dragon continues reading the note:
“No. It’s nothing personal. I have nothing against you. But you’ll never see Reina again or hear from her. Forget her Navier. Just take my advice without a word.” Our Dragon leaves.

Reina asks Esmeeth if she has a sewing machine. Sewing helps her forget about everything. Esmeeth doesn't have one but she'll get her one. Esmeeth says it must be difficult for Reina to leave everything behind. What hurts Reina the most is knowing she'll never see Navier again. Esmeeth phone rings. It's Navier. Reina asks Esmeeth not to tell him anything. Navier wants to know where Reina is. Esmeeth tells him that Reina and Clara are fine. Navier says he can take care of them with his life. If the Dragon is not around the damsel and dragona are in danger. He tells Esmeeth he has discovered some things. He can go see Reina and Clara without anyone knowing. He won't beg because it is not the Dragon's style. He tells Esmeeth that he knows things about The Black Falcon. He has a pendrive with useful information. But it will all be for nothing if she takes Reina away. Esmeeth tells Navier they have nothing more to discuss and hangs up on him.

Greta tells Christian that Laz knows more than he says. Laz doesn't desreve to go to prison for a crime that he didn't commit even if the person who committed the crime is her dad. Either way Laz will be arrested because the putz's dad moved his influecnes. They may not have evidecne against Laz but Laz was the only one that was there. Plus, Laz did have motives to commit Putzcide. Greta asks Laz to leave Christian and her alone. They have to talk. Laz leaves them alone.

Connie is at the bridal shop. She cries over Isidro. Isidro comes into the shop. Connie doesn't want to see him again. He tells her she didn't give him a chance to explain. It is true he got clsoe to her to get info but he loves her for real.

Reina calls Victor. Reina tells Victor she wasn't kidnapped. This time she decided to take control of her own life. She won't tell him where she is. She tells him its over. She doesn't want him looking for her. It hurts her to separate a daughter from a father but it had to be done. He asks her if she's with Navier. She tells him if he asks that it means that she hasn't understood what she just told him. Victor loses it and yells into the phone that she's the one who doesn't understand. He made her. He's her owner. She's nothing without him. He is the only one that can love and protect her. He's her accomplice. He helped her bury a corpse. He tells her that her madness drove him crazy. He tells her they are bound together by life and death for all eternity. Reina hangs up. Esmeeth listend in to the whole conversation. Reina asks Esmeeth to investigate if there is a corpse in the De Rosas garden. Esmeeth will take care of it. Esmeeth tells Reina to rest. Reina needs to be strong for Clara. Reina asks Esmeeth if she has children. She realizes her imprudence and apologizes to Esmeeth for having asked such a personal question. It is just that she has just left her daughter without a father and she needed to talk to another mother. Reina leaves.

THURS PART 5

Greta tells Christian she was at the stables.

FLASHBACK
Camila and Chrsitian are getting shall we say a little comfy at haystack in the stables. They are getting it on and clothes are coming off. Mirta catches them. He calls Christian a perv and calls Camila a damn ho. She swears Christian will pay for this and leaves. Christian chases after her.
END OF FLASHBACK

Greta tells Christian she knows what happened after. Christian asks Greta what she wants. She wants him to help Laz. She's not asking him to help Laz. She is demanding it. Either he helps Laz or she'll talk.

Reina wants Esmeeth to investigate the garden. Esmeeth tells Reina that Victor has many secrets. Esmeeth doesn't think it will be easy for Victor to accept that he has lost his wife. Reina finds it odd that Victor didn't seem to care that he is losing his daughter. Esmeeth has bought Reina a sewing machine. Reina loves it. She says the sewing machine has saved her life countless times. It has allowed her to remain sane.

Our Dragon grabs Rocky by the lapels and accuses him of setting him up. Rocky swears he thought Reina would be where he sent him. Navier realizes Esmeeth planned this. She knew Rokcy would blab to him. Navier knows what he has to do. He leaves.

Connie asks Isidro if his boss wants more info and sent him. Isidro says yeah but no he's there to explain. Connie says there is nothing to explain. She can imagine the laughs Isidro and Victor had when Isidro would tell Victor about them. He swears he never told Victor about them. Connie doesn't believe him. She thinks he played with her. She loved him for real. He asks her if she loves him. She tells him she'd rather die. She throws something at him and kicks him out.

Juanjo and Susana dance. The dance turns a little romantic. Susana hasn't felt so happy in a long time. It is the power of music. It takes you somewhere else and makes you forget about everything. "Don't I get a little of the credit?" Juanjo asks her. Susana tells him that meeting him was the best thing that has happened to her in a long time. He goes in for the kiss but she resists. She has to go back to her world. Juanjo tells her that life is all about choices and she can choose what world to belong to. "Not always" she tells him. If she could choose she'd choose him. He asks her what scares her more - being his dancing partner or being his partner?

Christian tells Laz he'll help because he believes in his innocence [yeah right]. Estefania shows up and Greta tells her that Laz saw Victor leaving the putz's hopsital room minutes before the putz croaked. Estefania says Victor was with her the night the putz was killed.

Reina sews. Clara asks her if she's sad. She says a little but she'll feel better when they arrive in Mexico and have a new life. Reina will sew Clara a dress.

Greta says Laz doesn't lie but Estefania does. Estefania insists Victor was with her the night the putz croaked. Victor arrives. Christian says he has to talk to him. Victor can't right now. Greta says Laz is about to be arrested. Victor could care less. Reina is the only thing on his mind right now. Victor leaves. Greta tells Christian not to forget what they talked about. Greta tells Estefania she won't forgive her for lying.

THURS PART 6

Navier asks Esmeeth why she did this. She tells him she did it to save him. He thinks she hates him and wants to ruin him. He thinks she wants to see him destroyed. He tells her to admit that he has always been a rock in her shoes. He wants her to admit that she never cared about him and that he was a nightmare for her ever since she found out about his existence. He wants her to tell him that she'd be happy if she never had to see him again. He wants her to tell him that she'd love to snap her fingers and make him disappear. He asks her to be sincere. He tells Esmeeth that she would have preferred for him to have never been born. Esmeeth has had enough. She yells at him and tells him to stop. She won't let him talk to her like that. She's the one that gives the orders. He asks her why she hates him. She tells him she doesn't hate him. She loves him. He storms out of the office.

Two little typos I made:

Connie to Isidro:

"Did you fall in love with me or did you get close to me because your boss asked me?"

should say

"Did you fall in love with me or did you get close to me because your boss asked you?"

Reina to Victor:

She tells him if he asks that it means that she hasn't understood what she just told him.

should say

She tells him if he asks that it means that he hasn't understood what she just told him.

Wonderful recap, Mauricio! Many thanks.

Mauricio,

Thanks so much for the beautifully written recap. So much was going on in this episode, and you captured it all perfectly.

I completely missed the fact that the little pen drive with Victor's home movies was the thing that Navier found in the desk in the study. [Doh!]

But hey -- wasn't that Mirta, Christian's late wife, posing for the camera? If Mirta was one of Victor's playmates, maybe Christian's thing with Camila was payback... or vice-versa. How did Christian's wife die, anyway?

I was nervous for Greta. I know she's Great and all, but she is very vulnerable. Now that she has Christian backed into a corner, he poses a real threat.

So Estefi lied to protect Victor without a thought as to how that lie would affect her relationship with Greta... will she backpedal?

If Reina and Clara flee the country and Navier is left behind, then the viewer is stuck with a bunch of knaves...well, unless we go to Mexico with Reina, Navier and Clara. That actually might be fun.

What if Fernando is both Stefi's brother AND El Supremo? He actually runs The Company as an evil empire, but everyone working for it thinks they're doing good CIA work.

Also, he's the rapist, because why not?

Kelly

thanks so much Mauricio,
stellar recap!

smart of Estefi to use the Dragon as part of her alibi.

I laughed all the way through Connie's plans for a wedding,
up till when Victor crashed it.

not sure why Reina and Clarita were in disguise as no one sees them.

interesting that Esmeeth figured Rocky's betrayal into her plan to get Reina away from Navier,
she's no dummy.

ah, but Susana didn't dance with Juanjo until he went for another partner, a pretty, younger girl.

another ah, but didn't Camila, after Mirta catches her with Christian and they run off,
smile.

Laura Flores (as agent Smith) and her love for her son, really shakes the walls.

but the real bomb, was the look in Estefi's eyes, realizing her mistake,
when Greta tells her, she will never forgive her for that lie.

Mauricio - thank you for the great recap!

It is hard to tell if Izzy will be redeemed, but he seems to be starting to waver. It was pretty clear that he's not happy with Victor meddling in his love life. Izzy also seemed shocked that Connie loves him. That might be a game changer.

Do we on the Patio really think Reina will make it to Mexico?

Forgot to mention . . .

When Stefy was stealing the diamond, with her hair pulled back in a bun, she looked a bit like Julia Roberts. I've also noticed that in her bathtub scenes, when her hair is completely off her face.
Has anyone else noticed that, or is it just me?

Thanks so much, Mauricio. Terrific work on the recap.

It sure is weird that Estefy risked her relationship with her daughter to alibi Victor - especially considering he raped her the night before.

I think that butter knife had a serrated edge and a sharp end. Estefy could have stuck it in Big O's ribs, I think.

Izzy, you stepped in it again. Are we ever going to know what's behind his blind loyalty to Victor? I can't believe bodyguard jobs are that hard to find in Las Vegas.

Juan Soler was fabulous, his too white teeth flashing, as he talked with Reina over the phone and let his obsession show.

I'm on the patio [I believe you Univision folks call it the Patio of Lowered Expectations.} with an iced tea. [It's still too early in California for a glass of red wine!] So, Doris, I don't think Reina will get to México. Not sure if it will be Victor or Navier who finds her.

Esmeeth loves her son, and she was kind to Reina. But I thought it was odd she paid absolutely no attention to her granddaughter. I absolutely FAWN over mine!

Great recap, Mauricio, of a complicated episode.

So Reina originally wanted Navier to take her to Church and how was she going to escape from him there? He wouldn't have been distracted by Izzy's romantic problems.

Stefi stuck that butter knife in Big's O crotch!

You are right Novelera - Esmeeth should be more interested in her granddaughter than she has been.

So Esmeeth, Navier's boss, accedes to Reina's wish to leave and start a new life without Navier. Navier when he finds out about this, delivers a diatribe against Esmeeth saying that she hates him and wishes that he had never been born, etc. Kind of childish, no? Of course, it gave Esmeeth the opportunity to say that she loves him but still...

It was strange that Estefi would endanger her relationship with Greta to protect Victor.

"Stefi stuck that butter knife in Big's O crotch! "
I was not looking very closely. I thought it was his side. Well, she could have done a Lorena Bobbitt.

Surely Esmeeth knows that Clara is Navier's daughter? She seems to know everything else.

It is puzzling how Rocky constantly undermines Esmeeth, and tells Navier things Esmeeth wants to keep from N.

Doris, Esmeeth does know that Clara is Navier's daughter. Rocky has hinted a couple of times that Navier should know, both about Reina not running out on him and that the baby is Navier's. At least that's how I remember it. But Esmeeth always falls back on keeping Navier's nose to the grindstone by letting him have a revenge motivation.

Thanks, Mauricio!

Yes, Smith does know that Clara is her granddaughter. Few of these characters really act particularly maternal or paternal with their offspring, so I'm not surprised Smith isn't treating Clara with more grandmotherly care. Frankly, she should have found a way for her grandchild to get out of this dangerous situation a long time ago, if she really cared.

Navier's reaction was ridiculous, childish, and bratty. Like Smith, his boss, took his favorite toy away. I had to laugh. I also don't get how Rocky gets away with betraying Smith blatantly by passing info to Navier (but not the truth about Reina and Clara, for some reason), and doesn't get fired.

I'm up to my neck in Spanish 2 essays. Recap will be up later today. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Glad to know (I think) that Esmeeth knows Clara is her granddaughter, but she's left her in great danger around that deRosas mansion.

That "discussion" between Esmeeth & Navier sounded so much like a mother-son "discussion" it was almost funny. It would not have surprise me if she told him he was grounded.

BUT ..... I could. not. believe. the bombshell that Esmeeth dropped on Reina last night! The writers just let the stuff fly as this story moves along. No waiting months and months for secrets to be revealed, like most telenovelas!

I wonder what OBD's life expectancy is. . .

I think I caught a little boo boo in the production in last night's capitulo. Greta comes into the living room where Victor is going to threaten to tell her who Estefi really is. Susana is behind Greta's wheelchair, not pushing it and it looks like Greta is making it move with her finger - but of course she shouldn't be able to do that.

Laz brings his kid to work with him because his mother isn't around and he eats at the table with Victor, Big O, etc? You'd think the kid would be eating in the kitchen with the staff. There must be a staff - somebody is making all these meals.

I wonder how long OBD will be around, too. She does not have the smarts to get between Victor and Big O.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Fernando is El Supremo - bizarre as that seems since it means that Esmeeth has never met her boss and doesn't recognize his voice.

There are too many little things - like how he gets past her security, how he immediately got released from custody and Esmeeth had to apologize to him, Esmeeth's statement to Reina that El Supremo is the only one besides her who knows where she is. Fernando's warning to Reina not to tell anyone about the diamonds and now Esmeeth being ordered by El Supremo to have a relationship with Fernando.

I saw that too Jean, I've gotten used to Greta being in that electric wheelchair, with her hand on or near the controls, but last night she zoomed away from Susana who was supposed to be pushing her, and what a look on Susana's face, as she was trying to cover it up.

LEWS,

I deleted your comment because it contained a spoiler.

Thanks for understanding.

NovelaMaven - thank you for deleting a spoiler. I am so glad I did not see it. There is NO WAY I want to know what is going to happen in a future episode, or that any one of our crackpot theories WILL be correct.

Jean - I'm also starting to think Fernando might be Ell Supremo, for the same reasons. Him getting past Esmeeth's security was too coincidental.

My comment was purely speculation (as are many comments on this forum which contain speculation later proven to be correct). However, I understand completely. Please delete my comment on this week’s Page One, as well. Goodbye.

VIERNES Parte Preliminar
It's going to be sparse today. I'm still way behind on my grading and planning. I apologize.

Apologies LEWS if we were incorrect about your post. I note that your statement about a character was not preceded by "I think that" or "I'm guessing that..." It was a flat statement about a character about whom we have all been speculating. That is why the comment was deleted.

Do you want me to do this one for you, Sara? I don't mind. I've already watched it twice (but I can stop anytime!)

Jean, I would love you forever if you could fill in for me.

I promise to never give a test, make a project due and make an essay due all on the same day again (different classes. I swear I only overload myself with work, not the students)

Warm fuzzy alert! I appreciate Caray and my fellow Reinamaniacs sooo much!

No problema, Sara. I know all about over commitment. Look for the recap late tonight or early tomorrow.

Thank you so much! I'm sorry I didn't figure out earlier that I was overwhelmed. I'm stubborn and kept thinking I wasn't. WRONG!

Now THIS is why I love our community here at Caray, Caray!

Thanks so much, Jean, for helping Sara to breathe easier. I look forward to reading another of your masterpieces!

I was trying to explain the concept of "cyber friends" to someone the other day. We have them in spades here on the "Patio of Lowered Expectations". [Sorry to use that expression again so soon. I just love it!]

p.s. There haven't been many lowered expectations in Reina de Corazones. The thing roars along like a bullet train.

Doris-" it would not have surprised me if she told him he was grounded". LOL. Or sent him to the time out corner.

Penny

regarding Greta moving her finger and thus the wheelchair control, wasn't there a recent episode this week where she said she felt Laz's touch on her hand...is she starting to get feeling in her hands.

Sorry that this took so long. I couldn't finish it before I had to go to Church and then a meeting afterward took forever.

Viernes – Parte Uno

CIA Headquarters - Esmeeth's Office
Navier bursts in and tells Esmeeth, who is sitting head in hands, that she is supposed to get results. What if the person she is hiding is the biggest trafficker of gold and stolen diamonds. What if the Black Falcon's woman that everyone fears and is searching for is Reina Ortiz? What if she is helping the Queen of Diamonds to escape? Nav's phone rings and it's Reina.

She says that she shouldn't have called him but she wanted to ask his forgiveness. Navier asks where she is. Reina says that she isn't the right woman for him. He deserves another type of woman, a better type of woman like Estefi or someone else. She doesn't know if she is good or bad. She doesn't know who she is. The only thing she knows is that she loves him with all her soul.

“That was a fairwell (una despedida), wasn't it?” asks Esmeeth, “It's the best thing that could have happened to you.” Navier asks how she knows what's best for him. Does she have the secret of happiness? Esmeeth wants to know about what Navier found on the pen drive and about the Black Falcon and the Queen of Diamonds. Navier says that he isn't going to tell her. What is she going to do? Have him arrested for withholding information. “Maybe,” replies Esmeeth. “You won't do it,” says Navier. “You can't threaten me like I am a child.” “And I'm your mother...” finishes Esmeeth, “which I certainly am not.” She leaves and Navier calls Juanjo who is lurking around outside. He is going to follow Esmeeth.

De Rosas Mansion

Christián is with Victor. Victor says that he doesn't care about Laz or the dead Putz. He wants to find Reina. He is going to wait a few hours and then report that Clara has been kidnapped. He wants every police officer in Las Vegas looking for Reina. Fine, replies Christián, but he has a question and needs to know the truth. Where was Victor the night of Putzicide? Was he with Estefi or at the clinic? Victor is saved from lying to his friend when Christián's phone rings. It's news about the Putzicide investigation.

Estefi tells Greta that she wants to help Laz but she doesn't want to do it at Victor's expense. Susana comes home from dancing with Juanjo. Greta tells her that Estefi has been playing dirty (jugando sucio) and she wants her out of the house. Christián and Victor come in and Christián tells everyone that the body of a money lender (prestamista) who had ties to the Putz has been found with poison in his posession. It appears that he committee Putzicide. Greta wants to know if that means Laz is off the hook.

“¿Y todo esto?” “And all this?” Victor asks Estefi privately.
“Un regalo mio. Algo negro.” “My gift. Someting black”, responds Estefi. [So Estefi killed or had killed someone to take any suspicion from Victor. How did she know what poison to plant on this unfortunate person since we haven't been told how the Putz was poisoned. Maybe Christián, the worst cop in the world, didn't even test to see what poison was used since his previous theory was that the last person to see the Putz must have murdered him.]

Viernes – Parte Dos

Hotel Room
Big O is fully dressed and OBD is in her underwear. Have they had sex or does OBD just take off her clothes when she is alone with a man? Big O tells her to destroy the evidence that he had given her. The photos her mother took, the false newspaper, the television new program that announced that someone had drowned. He wants absolutely all of that destroyed. OBD asks what he is doing. Is he going to drown the kid himself? Is he going to kill Navier with his own hands. She laughs? Big O tells her not to laugh so much or she'll “atragantar,” “choke.” OBD wants to know if Big O wasn't responsible, then who tried to kill Reina or drive her crazy. Big O says it was someone who really hates her. “Or someone who loves her too much,” suggests OBD. “Couldn't it be your son, Victor, who wants to murder Reina Ortiz?” asks OBD.

Esmeeth's Apartment
Esmeeth arrives home and tells the guard outside that no one is permitted to enter. Juanjo shows up and pretends that he is looking for a different apartment number. Esmeeth tells Reina that Navier sent someone to follow her. Esmeeth tells Reina that she has to be very careful because Navier will do anything to find her. Reina says that she doesn't understand how he does the things he does. Esmeeth replies that it is not a mystery – he loves her desperately right now. Who knows what might happen in the future because Esmeeth does not believe in eternity.

Reina asks if Esmeeth has a family. She says no. She never married. Her parents died when she was young and she was raised in an orphanage. “Igual que Javier,” “Same as Javier,” says Reina. Reina tells Esmeeth that she has to stop thinking about Navier all the time. Esmeeth replies that she can't help Reina with that because she thinks about Navier all the time too. She is up all night thinking about him. “¿Perdon?” says Reina surprised. “This man that you love so much is the most important thing in my life,” says Esmeeth, “Javier Bolivar is my son.” Cara de impactada de Reina.

Esmeeth tells Reina that everyone thinks she is cold and uncaring but she if she dares to tell Reina this about Navier, it's because she wants Reina to know how far she will go to protect her son. She is speaking to Reina mother to mother. Her son matters more to her than any investigation, more than the Black Falcon or the Queen of Diamonds. Reina says that she understands. She asks if Navier knows about this. Esmeeth says no and she doesn't want him to know. She tells Reina that the cross that Navier gave her is Emeeth's. [If we're talking mother to mother here, shouldn't Esmeeth tell Reina that Clarita is Navier's daughter?]

De Rosas Mansion
Victor is sitting on the couch when Navier comes in. He tells Vic that since he doesn't know where Reina is, he supposes that his job is over. Vic replies that Reina's absence is temporary. She will return. “Unless they kill her first,” chimes in Big O. Big O offers Navier a job as his chauffeur. Victor tells Navier that he will pay him anything he wants to bring Reina back to the house. Father and son bicker about who has more money and who is stingier. Navier does not like being the object of their discussion. He says that he is man who goes by his intuition. He also likes power and arrogance and being the first in everything. For those reasons he accepts the job offer by Señor de Rosas. Big O looks smug until Navier clarifies that he meant Victor de Rosas.

Esmeeth's Apartment
The doorbell rings. It's Fernando San Juan. Reina hides. Esmeeth opens the door. She is annoyed that he got past her security. She says he can't come in but he does anyway. Esmeeth handcuffs him and pulls her gun. Reina is watching from hiding and flashes back to Fernando telling her not tell anyone about the red diamonds that she has. Fernando tries his usual line on Esmeeth but she has him taken away.

Viernes – Parte Tres

Estefi's house
Estefi and Lopez 2.0 rehash for our benefit the death of the moneylender who is taking the rap postumously for the Putzicide. As usual with anyone whose death Estefi causes directly or indirectly, we are told that this person was bad and deserved to die. He tortured people who couldn't pay up. It was justice and Estefi says that she loves justice more than anything in the world.

De Rosas Mansion
Victor tells Big O that someone is helping Reina because she isn't using her credit cards or withdrawing money from her bank accounts. Big O replies that maybe she has sold her diamonds. Vic says that all Reina's jewelry is in her room. Big O says that he didn't mean those diamonds. He meant the two red diamonds that Reina has in a safe deposit box. Now Victor is impactado. Big O says that he thought Victor had his wife under control. How many other secrets does she have?

Navier's Apartment (I think)
Juanjo shows Navier where Esmeeth went. Nav says that he has to find and protect Reina and Clarita. JJ discloses that he too has found the love of his life. Navier is happy for him and very surprised when JJ tells him it's Susana.

De Rosas Mansion
Estefi comes late to dinner. Greta rudely asks when she is going to leave the house. Big O shows up and tells Estefi that she is not welcome in the house.

Leiva House
Connie comes home and finds Isidro there. He paid Miriam to let him in. He's made hamburgers and fries for them. [That seems to be signature peace-offering meal of this novela.] He wants to explain things to her. He says that yes, he initiated his relationship with her on Vic's orders to get information on Reina. But then something he didn't expect happened - he fell in love with her “hasta la medula,” “to the marrow of his bones,” “con la alma,” “with the soul.” Connie replies that she understands – the same thing happened to her. But “ya no hay confiaza,” “there is no longer any trust,” and without trust there is no love, no couple, no children –there is nothing.

Victor's Sex Pad and Film Studio
Busy little OBD has shown up here, too. Victor is glad that she came. She is nervous about Big O finding out and being angry. Vic says that Big O won't find out. He's a man of his word. She asks Victor what he wants. He has ignored and mistreated her and made her feel like “poca cosa,” “a little thing.” He wants infromation. They have sex first and Victor has made an effort to be a good lover but now he wants payment. She tells him that Big O asks for the newspaper and other stuff that Carmen had so that it wouldn't get into the hand of the police. She gave it to him. He set up the accident that nearly killed Navier and Reina and he set up the drowning of Clarita. “But he didn't kidnap Reina?” asks Vic. OBD says no. That was her mother's boss – she is sure of that. She tells him that she has always believed that the boss, the person who wants to kill Reina – is him. [I was distracted by the strapless bra that OBD had on and was wondering how it could contain those enormous boobs. It must have a steel framework.]

Viernes – Parte Cuatro

Esmeeth's House
Reina hears someone at the door. She looks through the peephole. It's Nav. Esmeeth must have a good lock because wonder boy seems to be having trouble opening it. Navier realizes that someone is in the apartment. Then the guard shows up [was he on a bathroom break or something when Nav showed up?] Surprisingly, Nav does not attack the guard. He says that he needs to get in because Esmeeth is in trouble. The guard says that she isn't there. Nav leaves. Esmeeth comes back. She says that when she brought Reina here, she took all precautions and only one person knows where Reina is – her boss, El Supremo. He knows everything. [Is she suggesting the El Supremo told Navier where Reina is? Because she also knows that Navier had her followed.] Reina asks if El Supremo also knows that she might be the Queen of Diamonds and a murderer. Esmeeth says that El Supremo knows everything.

De Rosas Mansion
Estefi comes downstairs. Big O says that he was waiting for her to say goodbye. Where is her suitcase? Estefi replies that she isn't leaving. Big O says that her presence puts Greta in a bad mood and her wishes are orders. Estefi replies that no one will separate her from her daughter, especially not a “gusano,” “a worm” like him. While putting in a bravura performance with his pipe, Big O tells Estefi that he told Navier who the Queen of Diamonds was. Estefi is impactada. Then Big O tells her that he told Navier that Reina was the QofD's. Estefi asks why – he didn't do it to help her. Big O says that he wanted to get rid of one of the “lacras” “moral evils” [“lacra” does not seem to be a noun that normally refers to people. It is used to describe societal evils like hunger or prostitution.] that are hanging around Nav. Then he will get rid of the other one.

CIA Headquarters
Navier shows Rocky the videos on the pen drive of Vic having sex with various women. He wants to identify the women to try and find out more about Victor and the theft of the diamond. Then Nav shows Rocky the address that Juanjo found and asks if that is where Esmeeth lives. Rocky confirms that she does live there. When Rocky says that Esmeeth was just here, Nav asks if she lives alone. Rocky replies that no one knows much about Esmeeth's personal life. Nav replies that he knows things - more things than Esmeeth believes. Rocky asks Nav if knows Reina well enough to know that she isn't the Queen of Diamonds.

Esmeeth's Apartment/CIA Headquarters
We recall that Navier put his cell phone number in Clarita's phone. She calls him to ask his help to draw the eyes on her latest dragon drawing. She is having trouble drawing the dragon with angry eyes since he is separated from his “dragona.” Nav suggests that the dragon should have sad eyes and asks where she is so he can come and help her with the drawing. Meanwhile he is trying to track where she is using cell towers. [Apparently, the CIA can just call this up at any time without even contacting the cell company.] Reina discovers her in mid-call and Esmeeth takes the chip out of the phone. Nav is able to find the “zona,” “general location” but not the exact house. [Why doesn't he see that this is the same “zona” where Esmeeth's apartment is and come to the obvious conclusion?]

Esmeeth's Apartment
Esmeeth has doubled her security detail and tells them if Navier gets in, it will cost them their jobs. Navier will not be able to enter unless someone lets him in. Reina apologizes for the mistake. She forgot about that cell phone. Clarita comes in and asks forgiveness for calling Navier. She gives Esmeeth one of her dragon drawings.

Viernes – Parte Cinco

De Rosas Mansion
Vic tells Estefi that he will help her with Greta. Estefi replies that now they are even (“a mano”). She says that she knows that he is the Halcon Negro. Vic denies it. Estefi points out that now he has two red diamonds and the crown. He needs the other two red diamonds. Does he know where they are? Vic replies that he does know. Does Estefi know? She does. She asks how he will get the diamonds if Reina doesn't come back.

Greta comes in [this is where she is moving the electric wheelchair by herself and you can see the actress playing Susana realize this at the last moment] Greta asks nastily why Estefi is still there. Vic says that she doesn't have the right to talk like that to people who are nice to her. Greta replies that she doesn't care. Vic says that she should care. Does she want to know who Estefania Perez Hidalgo really is? He will tell her. Big O interrupts and tells Greta that Estefi is an exotic dancer and if she wants more information, she should check out Estefi's web page, except he advises Greta not to do that since she is still a minor. Victor tells Big O to shut up. Big O says that he can tell her about Victor, too. Victor wanted to marry Estefinia and Big O prevented that. Then she married a millionaire casino owner who conveniently died on their wedding night. Victor and Susana tell Big O to shut up. Vic starts to defend Estefi but she says that she had enough. She will see all of them again here or in hell. She leaves. Big O congratulates himself.

CIA Headquarters
Navier is reasearching the women on Vic's sex tapes. He says that they are mostly actresses, models, reporters and singers but there is one that interests him – Mirta Muran – the wife of his best friend Christián Palácios.

Police Station
Christián flashes back to the follow up of his wife discovering him with Camila. He tries to tell her that this was the only time and it will never happen again. He asks forgiveness. She says he never touches her and now she understands why. He disgusts her. Christián says that he will get his things and leave. Camila, who has heard all this, gives Christián a little air kiss and Mirta a little wave. Back to the present and Connie comes in to his office with coffee and dulces and a proposition – will he help her forget? If he is still interested in her, she wants to try. He is still interested. They embrace. Connie thanks him. She says that she needs a hug from someone who has nothing to hide. [uh oh – she shouldn't be in a novela then where EVERYONE has something to hide and we know Christián does. Poor Connie.]

CIA Headquarters
Esmeeth comes in and tells Navier that she wants to see him in her office. “Now?” he asks. “Yes now,” she replies unless he has something more important to do. He says that he was going to take a bath if that is ok with her.” “Of course,” replies Esmeeth, “she wants him clean, awake and with the lights turned on.” Navier says that he is dirty, not tired. He asks what this is about. Esmeeth replies that he shouldn't have gone to her house. He says that she knows perfectly well why he went there. She tells him to be careful about what he does next or he may cross a line and will regret the consquences. He asks if she is threatening him. Is this where he should act all afraid? She replies that she has the power to pull him off this mission, send him out of the country and much more. Navier says that he is sure that she has the power to send him out of the country or out of this life and she would take a lot of pleasure doing it.

Viernes – Parte Seis

Esmeeth tells Rocky that they are going to interview Fernando San Juan. Rocky tells her that El Supremo hit the roof when he found out that she had arrested Fernando. He ordered him released and Esmeeth has to apologize to him immediately. Navier takes an unholy glee in seeing Esmeeth lose a battle. Esmeeth looks like she wants to slap him. I know I did. I guess the “llamada de la sangre” in this case is making Navier act like a five-year old with her.

Leiva house
Román tells Laz and Juanjo that he was very impressed with his dinner at the De Rosas Mansion. Juanjo tells Laz that he is worried that Susana hasn't called him. Miriam comes in and says hateful things in front of her son so that Juanjo has to cover his ears.

De Rosas Mansion
I guess Susana has shown Greta Estefi's website. Greta says that she doesn't want anything to do with Estefi. Susana says that what Big O told her isn't true. Greta tells Susana to wake up and accept the truth about her daughter and her husband. Why doesn't she change? Doesn't she see or doesn't she want to see? She says that Susana can feel things, do things, why doesn't she change? Does she want to stay in this miserable life? Greta tells her live her life. She has a life.

Victor and Big O are in the study. Victor tells Big O that he didn't have to say all those lies.
V: “You told her that you ordered me to take her daughter.”
BO: “You did that.”
V: “For you”
BO: “I helped you.”
V: “How did you help me? By making me a calculating, cold person, a killer.”
Big O goes on to say that he made Victor a powerful person that nobody messes with. Everything that Victor is now is thanks to Big O.
Victor says that he will have to kill Big O, then. Big O replies that Victor isn't capable of killing him. He isn't going to just stand around with his arms crossed either. When they confront each other, he will see who lives and who dies at the hand of the other. [Since the revelation about Vic taking Estefi's daughter happened a long time ago, I'm not sure why they are arguing about it now since Big O didn't really mention it in his recent peformance in the living room.]

CIA Headquarters - Esmeeth's Office
Esmeeth is angry at El Surpremo. She tells Rocky that she didn't deserve this after all her years of service. Navier comes in dressed in different clothes so I guess he took a bath. Rocky says that El Supremo wants Esmeeth to have a relationship with Fernando San Juan. Esmeeth thinks that is absurd. Rocky and Navier don't agree if they get information that way. Esmeeth says that they are both against her. Navier says that it appears that she has been chosen to play a different person and it won't be for the first time.

Esmeeth leaves, followed by Rocky. Navier goes to look at Esmeeth's computer and finds Clarita's drawing sticking carelessly out of her purse. [Sloppy, sloppy. She should have put it on her refrigerator.] [I guess Navier didn't figure out where Reina was until he found the drawing although it seemed pretty obvious.]

spectacular recap Jean!
and it's so nice for me when you explain those quick and subtle conversations.

ah, so we have a "long" couch conversation, with Victor and 'O' at the far ends.

hmm, I'm not sure if I understand all this, 'O' wanted back "the false newspaper, the television news program that announced that someone had drowned, etc." (and these were used in Reina's kidnapping and later with Clara in the pool and were used by the person that wants Reina to kill herself), but later we hear from OBD, that 'O' did the car crash and the drowning but NOT the kidnap, which was done by Carmen's boss.

this is confusing to me also because I'm also thinking that there is a person/persons that wants to kill Reina, and there is also another person that wants her to kill herself, (this actually fits Estefi's killing profile although I was led to believe Carmen's boss was also a boyfriend)

ok so 'O' lies and OBD isn't too smart, I'll just wait and see how this shakes out.

ah, Navier at Reina's door, but there is no shadow showing under the door.

did Esmeeth hide some emotion when Clarita gave her the dragon picture, is she playing cool around Clara to not let Reina know that Navier is the father.

Thanks Jean for your well organized and detailed recap!

My fav line was [If we're talking mother to mother here, shouldn't Esmeeth tell Reina that Clarita is Navier's daughter?]

So Smith wants to take Reina out of the picture, because she thinks Navier is unable to do his job safely if he is distracted by her?

Also, I was surprised that Octavio told Vic that Reina had 2 red diamonds, didn't he want to keep them out of his hands?

Haha, I was totally thinking the same thing about the bra. I figured that maybe she had plastic straps that couldn't really be seen on TV.

& thanks Novelera for the ISBIS definition!

Great work, Novelera. I just watched the epi. One correction. Stefi didn't say "algo negro". She said Halcon Negro (Black Falcon).

They are really trying to build mystery around who else was involved in Reina's kidnapping and Carmen's murder. It seems pretty obvious that it was Big O, and the man lies about everything. So why should we trust his word? I guess we will see. The writers might create some random character last minute to complicate the mystery.

Navier's tantrums are hilarious and annoying. And totally unprofessional. Just what does he think he'll be able to do better than Reina and Clara being in protective custody? And way to throw Reina under the bus by telling Smith she's probably the queen of diamonds, while at the same time withholding other evidence that could possibly link Victor to wrongdoing. Navier has really made his way to my bad list this past week.

If Fernando and El Supremo aren't the same person, they certainly are in cahoots with each other.

Poor Connie. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Sorry, Jean! I meant to thank YOU for the recap, but got Novelera on my mind why I typed. :)

I guess "Halcon Negro" makes more sense that "Algo Negro" but that is what the captions said. I wondered if it was Halcon but I let it go.

I sure hope that it wasn't Big O or Victor who kidnapped Reina. If not, it will be a big disappointment.

They seem to focus on the kidnapping but who poisoned Javier and Navier? Do we know that? I don't see how it could have been Victor since he actually tried to kill himself afterward. Big O?

Ah! Another reason for me to never use the captions. :) Perhaps the translator had one too many drinks before work.

OK. Let's look back on what we saw and know.

Frank Marino called up Navier to gloat about infecting him and Reina with the deadly virus (that Vic uses and that was stolen from the scientist's lab). We then saw in the chain of events that it was Frank who put nurse/agent Betina up to putting the virus into the coffee. He then killed her.

Questions: Where did the virus come from? The person who killed the scientist and stole the virus? Or from Victor's private stash?

In flashback, we saw that Frank worked with Carmen to steal Reina's not dead body and learned she was given a catalytic to make her appear dead. Frank gloated to Navier about never being able to find Reina, right before Smith shot and killed Frank.

Carmen knows where Reina is being held. Where she is being held, the now infamous fake news and television reports and Navier and Clara's deaths are shown to Reina, with the hope she'll be driven to suicide. Carmen is killed by a mystery man near the kidnapping site to messing up and leading Navier to Reina.

Questions: If Frank was already dead, then that means there was another puppet-master behind Reina's kidnapping, but who?

OBD starts receiving anonymous notes to finish the job her mom started. It's revealed they are from Big O. The two of them stage the drowning of Clara and the same news report shown to Reina during her kidnapping plays and alerts her to Clara drowning. Both OBD and Big O are on the premises. Then the car Reina and Navier drive in is tampered with, and right before the accident and large taunting sign, similar to the ones she got when she was held captive, is seen on the side of a building. Big O's gloating strongly suggests he's the one responsible for both the drowning of Clara and the car crash.

The link seems to clearly go: Betina-Frank-Carmen-Mystery Man/Big O-Delfina. Mystery Man killed Carmen, but Big O is claiming that he and Mystery Man are NOT one and the same. Hmmmmm....

Thank you so much, Jean!!!

Hmmmmm indeed. A very concise and clear recap of the timeline and possible responsible parties.

At least we can see how the person who staged the Clarita's drowning and the car accident could be different than the person who did the kidnapping. The connecting factor - the news broadcast - could have gone from Carmen to OBD and then to Big O without involving Mystery Man.

OBD clearly thinks that Victor is mystery man. Whether that means anything is unknown.

If all of this is related to the red diamonds, I will again point out that if Reina were dead, Victor would be the one who could get access to Reina's safe deposit box as her husband. The police could too if there were a murder investigation. Victor didn't know that Reina had the 2 Red Diamonds until Friday's episode.

I give up. At this point I only hope that the actual explanation is surprising.

Jean – Thank you for pinch-hitting for Sara and giving us this recap! (((Hugs))

” [uh oh – she shouldn't be in a novela then where EVERYONE has something to hide and we know Christián does. Poor Connie.]”
LOL and so true! I really do not want her to end up with either guy. Maybe someone else will show up who will be nice, honest, and have NO SECRETS.

Stefi has now crossed a line, by having the Putz’s loan shark killed. Previously, her previous collateral damage(?) victims were the fake QoD, who Victor killed, and the model carrying the Injecto-Death™Bouquet in the fashion show. This time, though, she made a conscious decision to have someone kill the guy. No accident or someone else’s decision to kill. Nope. She’s now entered into real baddie territory.

Well, I thought OBD’s bra had straps, so I’ll have to back and check that out.

The whole thing about BigO taking responsibility for the fake drowning but not the kidnapping does not ring true. The fake news report & reporter are the common link, unless someone else has also hired that same guy from Fake TV News Reporters ‘R’ Us.

Thanks so much for the fine pinch-hit recap, Jean. [Sorry, the Giants are looking better the last week or so, so I got baseball metaphors on the brain.]

I'm sort of just letting it all wash over me. More than one person is after Reina, and we'll find out someday. I'm just enjoying the fine cast here. Fernando is a great addition. The guy has a LOT of presence.

Follow-up ..... (I love FFWD--->x3)
OBD's bra in the Big O scene had straps. That's the one I remembered. I didn't even notice in the scene with Victor. (probably too busy reading CCs) Gah! That one looked glued on.

Thanks for the pinch hit, Jean. Even after reading it I'm still as confused as everybody. And just to add to the confusion I have another conspiracy theory.

Big O said the diamond gives the bearers absolute power over the four winds ( or some kind of world domination thingy). What if the gang that originally wanted the red diamonds (the ones that Victor blew up) wanted them for their world domination powers. They know, however, that if they kill a queen the red diamonds will curse them, not give them dominant power. So maybe they are the ones trying to drive her crazy. Maybe????

Penny

You have great theories, Penny. You're right. Some kind of world domination was mentioned early on and also by a frank Marino. We'll see how it plays out.

Jean, thank you so much for helping Sara out and providing all of us with another fabulous recap. This novela seems to be inspiring you. Your work really sparkles. Thank you for including the level of detail that we Reinamaniacs crave. And thanks for all the Spanish and the thoughtful translations.

As usual, your wry asides crack me up:

"He's made hamburgers and fries for them. [That seems to be signature peace-offering meal of this novela.]"

"[Sloppy, sloppy. She should have put it on her refrigerator.]"

"[I was distracted by the strapless bra that OBD had on and was wondering how it could contain those enormous boobs. It must have a steel framework.]"

"Victor's Sex Pad and Film Studio"

And what seems to be crowd favorite:
"She says that she needs a hug from someone who has nothing to hide. [uh oh – she shouldn't be in a novela then where EVERYONE has something to hide and we know Christián does. Poor Connie.]"

While it's always fun to speculate on the plot, I'm kind of in Novelera's camp on this -- "I'm sort of just letting it all wash over me." For one thing, Telemundo never plays fair. The writers give us a few obvious threads to follow (like Esmeeth being Navier's mother), but then they turn everything on its head by introducing a past that we could never have guessed out; or trotting out a new character who shakes up all our assumptions. I'm just enjoying how EVENTFUL every single episode has been.

Doris, I loved this comment of yours:

"That "discussion" between Esmeeth & Navier sounded so much like a mother-son "discussion" it was almost funny. It would not have surprised me if she told him he was grounded."

So funny! For me, Esmeeth and Navier continue to conjure up an image of squabbling siblings in the back seat of the family car, elbowing each other, teasing and making rude noises. Rocky sits up front at the wheel, largely ignoring them, but every now and then pulling the car to the side of the road, turning around and ordering them to CUT THAT OUT!

Thanks Jean!

Can't wait for a new week of Reina.

Many thanks, Jean, for your awesome recap, which was informative, delightful, and very helpful. Special thanks for the Spanish.

There's nothing much I can add at this point. NovelaMaven already pointed to some of my favorite lines, and Novelera perfectly expressed my feelings about this headspinning novela: "I'm sort of just letting it all wash over me. More than one person is after Reina, and we'll find out someday. I'm just enjoying the fine cast here."

Hola amiguis--Have had two days to watch the epis and read the recaps. Thank you all, Caroline, Jean, Novela Maven and Mauricio for trying to clarify this delectable, Full House of Cards hand.

Having had a whole week's worth of action at once, I've got a new crackpot theory on Camila.

Last Monday Navier was so sure when he told Reina that Camila was NOT his niece. That would make someone else besides Victor her father. Yes?

On Friday, we heard Susana's confession to JuanJo that soon after she was married she had that horrible experience where she was raped, over and over by--the last person she ever would have expected to be there.

Voila--A mystery boinker (and not to make light of it, abuser) is Camila's bio-dad, not Victor.

Who could it be that she knew? She said the workers had all left. It can't have been Victor--or Big O. The only other fellows on the scene when Camila was already a "nubile" young thing, were Cristian and Isidro. Victor has said he and Cristian go waaaay back. Isidro has probably been on the scene for as long, to become Vic's right hand man.

I don't really think it was Cristian. How would he have known exactly when Susana was going to be there, but Susana agreed to name him as Camila's godfather.

I don't believe it could have been Isidro, either. He's too much into loyalty, doesn't have too much free time, it seems, and is too smooth and good-looking to have to force himself on any lady.

Hmmmm. My theory is falling apart.

Oh, and all the discussion relating to Susana's sexuality....she did get pregnant again, at the same time as Stefi. When Greta was born, Susana's baby had died and Greta was substituted. So, as far as we know, she did it at least twice. Once as forcible rape and once with Victor for the baby that died to be conceived.

Implausible, but that's all we have to go on.

I'm still in the school of trying to figure out the logic in all this. My beanie has unraveled, though. Don't know if I want to invest in a new one. It's probably not worth it.

I am a student of the pear half floating in Jell-O school. I can't keep up with it all, but I LOVE IT.

Sweet confusion, thou art nectar to the bees and Reina is thy queen.

I'm half in and half out of the Jello. I like to try and figure it out. It's hard to leave the logical mind behind. The writers of this novela seem to be leaving clues and trying to tie up the loose ends. I try not to get too serious about it, though. If push comes to shove, I don't mind sliding into the Jello.

So because I am not obsessive or anything, I went back to the recaps for week 1 and Susana did not have a baby who died. Victor just gave her Greta and told her that Estefi abandoned her. So there is no evidence of sex for Susana after she was raped.

Sara--You took the words right out of the Dragon's mouth (by way of Creemelo). I was going to use it in this week's Wisdom. And I still am!

Did I miss an earlier reference in Reina to pear halves?

Anita - I mentioned Creemelo's pear halves early on. I'm still using as my visual. :-)

I have only seen the first three of the four as on demand hasn't put up no. 4. I will say that it gladdens me to see all our favorites have come to Telemundo if only so that they can be found again. I loved the first season seen on Netflix a couple of years after the broadcast. La Reina is truly de regresa and I am loving it--especially the beauty they cast as Sofia!!! That knowing winning smile will enthrall multitudes in the future and break just as many hearts. Ah well. Teresa has taught her child all she learned and the benefit to learning it all young instead of a 19 or 20 has been shown to be a winner. The attempt to escape from the dog cage inside the baggage section was a heartstopper and terrific although you had to know it would be unsuccessful or the entire tn would be over before it started. I was terribly upset to see poor Mr. Journalist Photographer go the way he did but the shock to Teresa woke her old self up out of its haze. Loved this episode the best. Jonathan is a scuz in my book already. Willy needs to look out and wake from his haze as well. Glad to see so many old friends here. Cao bell@s!

Thanks to those who did the recaps as well, BTW!
