Hasta el Fin del Mundo #22 20140916 The Pretty People Plot and The Dumb People Take a Vacation

Ripoll

Alexa helps to defile the impeccable reputation her family by striking suggestive poses on every surface of the chocolate factory.

Sophia is sobbing in her office and asks Chava to take her far away from there.  He offers to take her to the end of the world.  Well, she doesn’t want to go that far away.  She simply wants to go to her family’s country house on the outskirts of town.    Sophia sends Chava for the car and his apron.  He stops at the door to watch her cry.  Her engagement ring sparkles in the office lights.  I hate her

In another part of the building, the soft-porn duo (Patrick and Silvanna) are busy plotting the demise of the chocolate empire.  Silvanna pops a tudie and leaves because Patrick won’t share his evil plans with her.  Once he’s alone, Patrick reads the results of the DNA test.  Coria was not related to Sofia.

Sofia goes to Silvanna’s office and tells her that she is going away to the country house to think.  Silvanna is surprised because Sofia swore that she would never visit that house again.  Sofia tells Silvanna that she trusts her and that Silvanna is her only friend.  They hug.  Sofia tells her not to tell anyone where she has gone and not to call unless there’s an emergency.

A while later, Patrick barges into Silvanna’s office and demands to know where Sofia is.  Silvanna won’t tell him unless he lets her in on his evil plot.  She tells him that she followed him (and Renzi) when he went to Dr. Henderson’s.  Patrick gives in.  He figures she’ll can help him better if she knows more.  He tells her that Coria told him that Sofia was not Octavio’s kid.  Apparently, Coria had lost all five of his senses right before he kicked the bucket and couldn't discern the difference between the hands of a hairy man a delicate woman.   Coria thought that Patrick was Sofia.  The DNA tests were negative.  Coria and Sofia are not related.  Silvanna is shocked.  Silvanna tells him that Sofia went to the country house, but she wants to be alone.  Patrick will go because if Sophia is alone, she might come to think that she doesn’t need him and that will mess up his plans.

Snob Hill

The mood is celebratory in the Snob Hill kitchen.  Aurora announces that Lucas is at the front door waiting to speak to his grandmother.  Miguelita wants Lucas to meet Daniella, but Daniella says that she has to leave the kitchen because she’s grounded.  Greta would kill her if she found her daughter in the kitchen cavorting with the staff.   Daniella hides behind a door and eavesdrops.  Lucas comes in and gives his grandmother a monster hug.  He tells her that Sofia gave him a job at Ripoll.  She tells him about the four women who live there, but never mentions Daniella’s name.  He reminds Miguelita that he doesn’t like rich girls.  His heart belongs to someone, but he hasn’t been able to get in touch with her.  This makes Daniella happy.

Later, in Greta enters Daniella’s room and yells at her about getting expelled from school.  Tomorrow, they will visit the school together.  After Greta leaves, Fausto offers an ear to Daniella, but she sends him away.

Paco Candy Shop
Irma is closing the shop and displaying her ASSets for Renzi.  She invites him to her home so that they can money.  She wants him to make an offer on her house.  Once at the house, she doesn’t like his first offer and makes him give her a better one.  She likes the second offer.  After he leaves, she calls Armando.

Ripoll

Lucas completes his paperwork.  He will work in the warehouse.  Silvanna asks Matias to escort Lucas to the warehouse and introduce him around.  Matias insists on being called the Maestro.  Matias recalls that Lucas was the hottie that Marisol was lusting after in Cuco’s Place.  He gets all pissed and tells Lucas to stay away from the girls at the company.

Armando agrees to sneak away from Ripoll and meet Irma at Cuco’s.  Alexa is still at her photo shoot.  Irma tells him about the great offer on the house , but he doesn’t want to sell.  She argues that they can get a better house and he can buy a mechanic shop.  He kinda sorta begins to listen.  Suddenly, they realize that they have forgotten to pick up Nandito from the marshall arts class.  Armando picks his son up and takes him home.

Nandito has an a little tudie because his parents forgot to pick him up from taekwando again. The husband and wife continue to argue.   Alexa is finished with her photo shoot.  She calls and demands that Armando pick her up immediately.  He asks for five minutes, but she won’t give it to him.  Armando tells her that he’s busy and tells her to take a taxi.  Irma is happy that he told the rich girl off.  Armando is upset because he yelled at his boss.

Log Cabin in the Woods
Chava and Sofie pick up some supplies at a store on the way to the cabin.  She wants to stay overnight.  He only has what he’s wearing.  When they arrive at the cabin, Sofia gets cold feet.  She doesn’t want to go in.  Chava talks her into going inside.  She hasn’t been there since her father died five years ago.    She and her father were there a few days before he died.  He asked her to run the family business and family trust.  She tells Chava she is there to think about her marriage.  He is shocked that she is getting married and I am shocked that he didn’t know.  Her engagement ring is the size of a Volkswagen.

Sofia asks Chava what he thinks about her getting married.  He compares marriage to the finish line of the racetrack.  When you meet that person, it because clear like the checkered flag.  I guess you have to be a guy to get that analogy.  Anyways, the show ends with Beauty and the Beast sitting within kissing range of each other.  They stare deeply at one another.

Cynderella, thank you for your most excellent recap. It was very enjoyable.

Sounds like Irma really wants to get ahead especially when she mentioned a garage for Armando if they sold their property. Theirs could be a problem of ambition: maybe she is more ambitious than he is. Whatever the case, Armando is too nice to end up with Alexa.

I loved the scenes at the country house between Chava and Sofía.

Cynderella, you hit the ground running with “Alexa helps to defile the impeccable reputation her family by striking suggestive poses on every surface of the chocolate factory”.

You hit your stride with “Apparently, Coria had lost all five of his senses right before he kicked the bucket and couldn't discern the difference between the hands of a hairy man a delicate woman” and “ little tudie”.

Your recap was exceptional.

As far as Chava being surprised about the engagement, you’re right in that Sophia’s outsize engagement ring was hard to miss. But, I don’t think Sophia has been exuding any of the usual excited bride to be babble. The engagement party hasn’t happened yet and I think Chava is too busy staring adoringly at her to notice much else.

Irma is relentless, isn’t she? She will never be satisfied. She will always want the next bigger and better. Jarifa, I think Irma mentioning the garage was simply to entice him in that there was something "in it" for him if they sold and moved. Providing a living wage to support his family is important. Where and how they live isn't. I don’t see much hope for she and Armando at all, even if Alexa were not in the mix.

Alexa is going to take whatever attitude Armando chooses to dish out to her. He is the only person who doesn't coddle her.

Matias is right. Marisol is going to set her sights on Lucas as soon as she sees him. I honestly can’t remember back far enough to when I was their age, but, trying to be as objective as possible through younger eyes, I just don’t get Lucas’s allure. At all.

How in the world did Patrick get the DNA test that quick about Sofia ?

I'm predicting he's going use it to blackmail Greta. Just wait and see!

Steve, as the DNA results were negative, are you thinking that Pato might use it just to scare Greta that he knows Sophia is not a Ripoll?

Diana

Excellent recap, Cynderella! Thanks!

I completely agree with

“Alexa helps to defile the impeccable reputation her family by striking suggestive poses on every surface of the chocolate factory”.

Not sure what they have to do with chocolate.

I loved this

"Apparently, Coria had lost all five of his senses right before he kicked the bucket and couldn't discern the difference between the hands of a hairy man a delicate woman."

also loved

"Anyways, the show ends with Beauty and the Beast sitting within kissing range of each other. They stare deeply at one another."

Will they finally kiss?? We'll have to wait until tonight to find out.

I don't think Pato can do much do with the DNA results since they turned out negative. Of course if he does find out who the real bio dad is and does the DNA tests again then he will be able to blackmail Greta.

I'm hoping this doesn't happen but it seems inevitable. No spoilers just my speculation.

Diana, I'm thinking Patrick will use this information to his advantage and scaring Greta.

For example, he'll say "I'll tell Sofia the truth about who her real father is"

This TN reminds me of the "Jump the Broom" movie, where Paula Patton's character finds out that Angela Bassett wasn't her bio mother.

Cyderella:

Marvelous recap, thank you so much.

Diana: I so agree with you about Irma. I too think she threw that mechanic's shop in to get what she wants.

Alexa and Armie were funny sniping at each other. He knows what his job is, he should not have told her to take a taxi. Greta sure won't be happy at that.

I had to laugh at Matthias and he will keep a good eye on Lucas I have no doubt. I had to laugh at Matthias flirting with Silvie too.

Who knew that Dani is actually doing what her Mama said.

Pato is just an idiot. I have to say that Silvie is the brains of that operation. I'll have to laugh if Pato fails completely. Looks like tonight, according to the avances he goes out to the country house. What will he do when he finds out Chava is with Sofia? This won't be good.

Thanks so much, Cyn!

I liked that Pato was frustrated at every turn. First with Sofia not caving to his demand to rip up the prenup and taking off, and then with the paternity test not coming out the way he expected. It will be really hard for him to find a link between Greta and Paco, since they have had nothing to do with each other in over 30 years. But, yes, he could still blackmail her by simply telling her he knows Sofia had a different daddy, and even bluffing like he knows who it is.

I don't know why Sofia is thinking so hard about this. He father tasked her with protecting the company-- the prenup is a way of doing that. No more explanation is needed for Pato. And if she has to think this hard about wanting to walk down the aisle with Pato, then she shouldn't. There is NO reason for her to do it. She's young, beautiful, and successful. And she's not pregnant. Why does she need Pato, a man who doesn't even make her tingle?

Renzi hit the jackpot when he encountered Irma. I'm sure she will give him all the info he wants about which neighbors would be a soft-touch for selling, and which ones are trouble. I know the offer is tempting, but would it really provide enough money for them to buy another house outright in another/better part of the city, AND a mechanic's biz for Armie?

I don't think Patrick is dumb. I think was smart to get a sample of Coria's hair for a DNA sample. It's not his fault that Coria was not the father. Next he should pull the hair of one of her sisters. That shouldn't be hard since Alexa's fluids and DNA are now all over that place. Where was the health department for that photo shoot?

Cynderella

Pato can try to blackmail Greta, but Greta is no dumb bunny. With Fausto's help she'd figure out a way to nail his butt to the wall. I can't see Greta caving ever.

Thanks Cynderella! Loved the line about Coria losing all five of his senses. You just know that Pato is the type who uses too much Axe body spray.

Would Pato be stupid enough to accuse Greta without some concrete evidence to back it up? Greta could just say he's trying to get back at her because he's angry about the pre-nup. Is he that stupid? Maybe.

I have to admit I was kind of surprised that Chava didn't know Sofia was engaged.

Cynderella - Thanks. "Hands of a hairy man" is my favorite too.

With the sale, maybe Armando could get a loan to finance a garage. I don't blame Irma for wanting to move to a bigger place, but I do fault her all the spending.

A chauffer telling his boss to catch a cab? Armando's going to pay for that one.

Cynderella,

Patrick trying to pull a Maury Povich in this TN LOL.
