Hasta el Fin del Mundo #49 20141023 I was Wrong, the Galan is not Gay!

Ripoll-Patrick tells Silvana that he got in a fight because he was defending Renzi’s girlfriend from some lecherous dude.  He removes the recipe book from his safe and forwards pictures of the pages to Renzi.  Renzi will send them out to a newspaper, along with the story of chocolate espionage.

Later during lunch, Silvana wants to toast to the destruction of Ripoll.  Patrick says that the newspaper article is just the beginning.  He still intends to marry Sophia.  He asks Silvana what Sophia sees in Chava.  Sophia tells Patrick that looks aren’t everything.  You don’t have to be built like Adonis to win a woman’s heart, but it doesn’t hurt.  She suggests that Patrick get over his jealousy start acting like Chava.  He’s smart, funny and edgy.  Opposites attract. She begs him not to tell Sophie that she told him that Sophie went to the Village Idiots dance.

Paco’s Crib:  Lupe excuses herself so that Sophia and Paco can talk.  Paco apologizes to Sophia and tells her that he didn’t authorize the lawsuit.  She wants to know if he was friends with her parents.  Her mother barely remembers him, she says.  He “vaguely” remembers that Octavio had a girlfriend.  Sophia tells him that she had “her men” prepare the first recipe in his book; the recipe tastes just like Martin’s recipe.  Paco becomes defensive.  The reason it tastes the same is it’s his creation.  Paco goes on to explain that he and Octavio envisioned Ripoll.  Octavio had the capital, Paco created the recipes and Martin Coria was his assistant.  She wants to know whether Paco gave her the recipe book because he wants credit.  Paco says that he gave her the book so that he could put the past behind him.  Sophia asks why Octavio and Coria betrayed him.   Paco doesn’t want to speak ill of the dead.  She threatens to sue him for defamation, if he’s not telling the truth.  They shake hands and she leaves.  Later, Lupe returns and wants the dirt on their conversation.  He tells her to go to her dancing class.

Bedroom of a Middle Aged Man Who Still Lives With His Mother (aka Cruz Residence):  Feverish Salvador has a naked visitor.  Sophia enters his bedroom and lies down next to him on a twin race car shaped bed under his Barney blanket.  Gross, he’s all sweaty!  Anyway, Chava tells Sophia that he dreams about her A LOT!  He asks if he is dreaming now.  She tells him to kiss her.  And…she kisses him. Again…gross, he’s all sweaty! He wakes up and finds out his night with Sophia was all a dream, BUTTTTTTT!  There’s mysterious bra in his bed.

Uh oh!  His night with Sophia may have been a dream, but his night with Araceli was not.  Araceli is in a snit because while she was violating an unconscious man, he screamed out another woman’s name.  And to add insult to injury, he has no recollection of having sex with her!  How rude!  She takes her bra back and storms into the bathroom to get dressed.  Chava feels so dirty and used!

Lupe returns home.  She suspects that something disgusting and vile has happened in her home.  Should she get the Lysol?  Was it on her couch?  Chava denies it.  She tells Chava that she’s buttered up Paco, Araceli can’t spend the night anymore.

When Araceli comes out of the bathroom, she overhears Lupe telling Chava about Sophie’s visit.  Araceli thinks that Sophie wanted to settle the lawsuit and rushes home to her father.

Later after dinner, Lupe continues to badger her son?  Was it on the table?  There is not enough disinfectant in the world for that!  Chava is sticking to his story.  He was asleep.  As far as he’s concerned, nothing happened.  Lupe encourages him to go after Araceli because he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance with Sophia.  She will never love him back.  Besides, Lupe wants him out of the house.  He's 65 now and she needs grandkids and her bedroom back.

Snobs:  Whipped Armando is in the waiting room crying over a Alexa and thinking of the great times they had together.  Suddenly, he hears his name and Alexa jumps into his arms.  Unlike someone else, (whom I suspected may be gay), Armando immediately takes direct hint and sucks her lips off.  Well, the crowd in the airport breaks into applausecuz that’s what people do at the sight of two strangers performing PDA.   Yes really, they broke into applause!  Someone actually wrote the applause into the script!  Armando comes to his senses pries her off of himself.  He’s suddenly remembered that he’s a married man and she’s got a boyfriend.   Where is her boyfriend by the way?  Well, she left him and her luggage and the plane and she ran for her life.  She’s free now!  They happily leave the airport arm and arm and end up on an overpass.  Think back to the day when she was having a panic attack and tried to run to the top of a bridge to jump off.  For some reason, Alexa and Armando end up on the top a bridge so Alexa can look at the cars.  Armando asks her if she remembers that day that she had a panic attack and fell down the stairs.  They laugh about it…good times.

Meanwhile, back at home, Miggie asks Dani if her mother knows that Dani was dating Lucas, her grandson.  Hell no! Dani suggests that they keep it a secret.  Miggie lies and says that she doesn’t know how to lie.  Greta walks in on Miguelita and Daniela having breakfast in Daniella room.  Greta gets all pissed because her daughter is fraternizing with the staff.  Besides, she doesn’t like Miguelita because she thinks that she covers for Dani.  Dani says that she just likes Miggie’s company.  Greta says that they have nothing in common.  Miggie is dumb.  Dani says that you don’t have to have an education to have a good heart.  Greta demands to meet Dani’s boyfriend.  Dani says that she will talk to him first.

When Alexa and Armando return to the house, Armando leaves Alexa alone with Greta.  Alexa tells Greta that she and Alan broke up, so she decided to remain in Mexico.  Greta wants to know what she’s going to do about the Luc Besson movie.  Alexa doesn’t care about the movie.  What’s important is family and seducing Armando.

When Sophia comes home, Alexa hugs her.  During the family meeting, Sophia tells Alexa that she needs some goals.  Alexa agrees with her and shocks me and everyone in the room.  She want’s Sophia to help her set some goals for her life.

Romero Residence:  Armando informs Irma that Alexa cancelled her trip to Spain.  When Irma storms out of the room, Nandito lets it slip that he and he mother are taking a trip to “Xlnt’s Prisoneyland”.  Armando confronts her, but she turns the argument around on him.  He suggests that the y see marriage counselor.  She tells him to take Alexa.

Lastly:

·         Lucas tells Marisol that he appreciates her friendship.  He fell for Dani because she pretty, has a great personality and had sex with him in a barn.  Manjarres (the con man) finds Lucas and has a business proposition for him.  Lucas is clean now and wants nothing to do with him.

·         Patrick sends Sophia some Orchids.  Fausto once to put them in the circular file, but Greta wants them on display in a pretty vase.

·         Aracely tells Paco that she will drop the lawsuit if he tells her the whole story.  He doesn’t.  Araceli demands to know why Paco defends Sophia and not her!

Sofia threatening to sue Paco ? Is she that stupid?

Propio, Cynderella! Thanks, for the wonderfully snarky recap this a.m. What a great way to start the day with such good laughs! Lysol, yes! Fumigate Lupe's house with it!

Yes, "violating an unconscious man". Yuck! Call the cops! If Araceli were the one that was unconscious and Chava the perpretator we'd be calling it sexual assault. She is a lawyer who does not know much about the law. Araceli is just a pushy broad and one more character I cannot stand. She'll drop the "suit" if Paco tells her the whole story? How can she sue? She has not been wronged. She has no legal standing. Only Paco can sue. Only Paco has been wronged. Wait till she finds out Sofía is her half sister. Wait till Chava has had sex with Sofía and then finds out they she and Araceli are half sisters. This could get very interesting and weird.

At least Alexa was smart enough to get off the plane. From the avances it looks like Alan is going to try to physically take her back. Hey, he needs his moneyline! Who is going to support him? With that looneytunes Alexa, Armando is going to spend a lifetime rescuing her from this and that. Guess Irma can't 'fess up yet to try to set things right. Armando needs to find a new woman that is not high maintenance like either of those crazies Alexa and Irma.

Silvana sure hit it on the head why Sofía is interested in Chava. I always like Silvana.

Jarifa, Chava is so going to look stupid when he finds out that Araceli and Sofia are half-sisters and the fact he slept with Araceli too.

I'm so looking forward to watching Greta's world falling down when the big secrets are revealed.

Steve, I, too, am looking forward to Greta's having to own up to the truth. She really annoyed me last night telling Dani not to fraternize with the "help".

Jarifa

Cynderella, your recap far outshone the episode. This was edgy and creative. An excellent summary.

"Bedroom of a Middle Aged Man Who Still Lives With His Mother (aka Cruz Residence)" and "Besides, Lupe wants him out of the house. He's 65 now and she needs grandkids and her bedroom back" were among my favorites.

I didn't quite expect the passion between Alexa and Armando but " Unlike someone else…, Armando immediately takes direct hint and sucks her lips off". Wow! Those were some amazing kisses. You brought up the Bridget Jones kiss at the end of that movie (which was a good one) the other day. This compared fairly well, don't you think? :)

I was also surprised that their passion didn't upset me. I mean, it should have, he is married after all. I guess Irma does "irk me" and the subterfuge regarding their son and her plans to visit the joint are not making me her biggest fan. I think Armando was wrong but he has to get his house in order or leave it.

In the dream sequence, Sophia was trying to lure Chava in with what appeared to be some enticing kisses. He responded like a robot. I think that his inability and/or unwillingness to engage in some decent kissing is hurting the storyline here. It's been mentioned he doesn't engage in kisses due to respect for his real wife. I think if you can't act/become the character, maybe you should just stick to singing. Sorry for the rant but really...

I didn't have to rant and rave about Arcely. Jarifa, your comments, especially "she is a lawyer who does not know much about the law". Exactly. I wish she would take her boring, old uninteresting self and leave the story.

I loathe Greta's condescending, imperious attitute toward Mig.

Lucas lured back to his life of crime? Could care less. Yawn...

I guess I'm cranky because we had yet another unwanted Matias free episode. Blech.

Cynderella, thank you for bringing us such a fantastic recap.

Happy Friday all!

Diana

Thank you Cynderella! I don't believe anything happened between Chava and Araceli. My hubby and I think she's sandbagging him. She left the bra only so he'd think something happened. He has bruises on his back and ribs. Speaking from personal experience, the only thing I've encountered that hurts more than childbirth is bruised/cracked ribs.

Lupe' needs to can it with the "take what you can get" line. I can't believe she'd ask Chava to settle for a woman he's not interested in just so she can have grandkids.

Diana, I agree with you about the passionless kisses. How can a guy dream and pine over a woman and then kiss her like she's his grandma? Sorta ruins the fantasy. ;)

Cynderella - Your recap is a home run. My faves:

Sophia enters his bedroom and lies down next to him on a twin race car shaped bed under his Barney blanket

Lupe continues to badger her son? Was it on the table? There is not enough disinfectant in the world for that!

Araceli looked hurt and embarrassed. I'm thinking she and drugged Chava really did do it. Yep, Chava kissing the girl of his dreams naked in bed just wasn't working. I kept wishing that scene had been shot at a different angle, maybe from the back of Chava's head to block out its lameness.

I don't know what to say about Armando. I'm not loyal to Irma or Alexa. The kiss with Alexa didn't bother me. I think what's bothering me is that Armando and Irma are not working on any level other than Nandito parenting -- no sweet tender engaging moments between these two and no smoking love scenes -- so seeing them break up is not painful. But seeing Armando cheating on Irma would most def bug me.

I do not like Greta. She is mean and petty to pick on Miguelina. A broken heart does not give you the right to treat servants like dirt. Plus, she has never once asked Fausto how he’s doing in his own private life, if he has one. Anybody that spots true love like he does must have some love stories and desires of his own.

Niecie, Greta is pissing me off with her buji-ism. I betcha she's going to cause Miguelita to have a fatal heart attack, which will really piss off Lucas.

Where's B613 when we need it ?

Hello to everyone... thanks for the wonderful recaps. I haven't been able to comment much lately, classes have me booked. I just read on Latin Times that our galan Pedro Fernandez could be quitting the show. Apparently his wife hates the very guts of Marjorie de Sousa and she's saying that her husband must quit the show or they'll be getting a divorce. I have to admit that at the beginning of the show I thought that Pedro was the worst possible choice for the lead male role, but he's actually grown on me. If he leaves the show I wonder who would replace him. What do you all think?

Tricia - Welcome! Hope to see you commenting more. My guess is Pedro is too much of a professional to let down his colleagues and audience by quitting early. He's doing good work here (except for the kissing - his wife would be please by our comments on this) and surely is use to the tabloids talking trash.

Interesting to see how far Patrick and Silvana will up the ante to destroy Chava tonight.

I really hope that article is real. I think Pedro Fernandez is so boring. I don't care is Chaka hooks up with Sophia. The article says Ynez or Zepeda. I'd be ok with either one.

OK, OK! If they can replace Pedro only if they promise to bring on someone like Gabriel Soto and ONLY if Gabriel promises to walk around with his shirt off for the first 4 or 6 or 10 episodes. OK, he doesn't have to walk or act...he just has to stand there....without his shirt on. AND ONLY THEN, will I forgive them for changing out Pedro.

I am crazy about Yanez - he's my No. 1 telenovio - but him in the role of chauffeur/bodyguard would be a reminder of the superior Amores Verdaderos. Hasta can't compete with that. Pedro, stick with the program and keep on showing your scrappy, feisty stuff.

Watching the avances for Monday, it appears Araceli is manipulating Chava again.

I'd put her and Greta as quasi-antagonists.

Very interesting about the possibility of Pedro leaving. Thanks for the info Tricia.

Perhaps his lack of kissing prowess is indeed the direct result of his wife's disapproval. But as I've commented before, if your spouse is an actor, perhaps you might expect that love scenes would be part of the acting equation. And actors do need to immerse themselves into the role and must be believable and convincing, which is why Pedro's love scenes are failing miserably here.

I would love to see Soto here (been a huge fan since Querida days). And Niecie, while I miss Eduardo (who is also my ultimate), I totally agree. He had the far better part in AV. That said, I would be in my glory if he returned.

But in the end, I don't see how the character could be replaced at this late date.

Diana

Diana, didn't they tape the TN months in advance ?

I loves me some Ynez, heaven knows I do, but he would be way to old to have an 18 year old sister. Also, he'd be older than his "mother". But the love scenes would be hot!

I noticed that all of the other actors in Hasta resemble the Dulce Amor cast. Zepeda resembles the Dulce "Chava". The Dulce "Chava" was always naked or showing off his muscles. Zepeda is the best choice based onlooks and the original character.

Dulce Amor - Capítulo 25 - Parte 1: http://youtu.be/mojLzom_9EQ

The dance scene is at 8:30. The blond is Lucas. The tall guy is Armando. The guy with long hair is Matias. The last guy is Chava.
