Mac and Ren talk.
Ren asks if what she heard is true and Bruno confirms. She says she will never forgive him while he throws more salt in the wound and says she'll never see Pablo ever again.
Lucio (complete with toothpick) eggs on Pablo who gets a little mad and is ready to charge towards him. That being said, Lucio pulls out a gun. He orders Pablo to put some pep in the step and head out (Hup 2, 3, 4 - Hup 2, 3, 4.)
Ren's luggage is being packed and Connie has one last talk with her daughter before Bruno's Operation : Gaudencia 2.0 is fulfilled.
Lucio has brought Pablo to an area where he is ordered to literally dig his own grave.
Bruno yells at Amanda, Mateo and Lucha (OK what is her name?) not to tell anyone about this and dismisses them. Unfortunately for Connie, she is staying with Bruno and that's final.
Pab is still digging and stops to reason with Lucio who can't be. Lucio says this is not the first time he has sent someone to meet their maker (or the undertaker.) Some talk later and Pab tussles with him over the gun; he knocks the gun out of Lucio's hand and then whacks him with a shovel (nice shot Pablo!) Fausto then comes out and after a few choice words, does Pablo in himself (if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.) Luc then wakes up bloody-faced and buries Pablo.
Bruno whisks everyone except Macaria away and they debate.
Renata is sad but fondly remembering the tender love she made with Pablo (and I get to see his exercised-through-horseback-riding-denim-dressed rump roast all over the TV screen again.)
Brute bitches at the ranch-hands and Fausto comes. He turns on the charm and Brute straight up asks Fausto if he is interested in marrying Ren. Fausto pretty much responds with a sure, why not?
Ooh, time has passed and Ren is showing! Ren says if it hadn't been for Mac accompanying her she would have gone crazy.
Connie says Ren will never marry or accept marrying Fausto and neither will she. Brute
-calls his granddaughter a bastardess,
-says that he will NEVER give Renata a cent again
-and lastly states the world accords to him. He thinks marrying Fausto with Ren would be a good investment (not really.) Connie is so against all of this but has little to no spine at all.

Mac says the baby was born OK and a girl while Brute just shrugs it off; he is going to pay her off for a job and she asks what it is.
The baby has been taken from Ren for the night.
At Registro Civil, Mac and Bruno are getting the baby registered under Mac's last name.
Ren wakes up and asks where the baby is. Brute comes in and says if Ren wants to be around the baby AT ALL, then she will do as he says.
Brute's Commandments
-She is to wash herself of the embarrassment she brought upon the family name. (Ren has had enough and so has Brute.)
-Ren will never be able to be involved with the baby as her mother. Mac will be however.
- She is to keep in mind he has the power to make sure the baby is never seen ever again. (He has no sympathy for the kneeling, crying Ren and twists the rusty knife some more by saying she is dead to him.)
-He says what he is offering her is a lot more than she deserves.
-Bottomline; Mac is the mom now and Ren is to have the least amount of contact with Abigail as possible!
BrujoGuyMel has come to help Connie out and she whisks him away.

GET WITH THE "PROGRAM" IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO SEND YOU TO HELL WITH MY OWN TWO HANDS!" Mac who doesn't look phased at all says she shall abide his laws.
Renata (in peace at last) gets to spend time with her baby rocking her back and forth in the pink'n'brown-adorned-cradle.

Thanks for the recap CS,i like your sense of humour:). It seems to me Lucio (Lucifer?) Is a lost soul and has no alterntives to kill,he doesnt seem to be cold blooded or even wishing to kill,he is like a mini Fofito.I wonder what his past was like.
I love that Brujo is getting his anvil at last though his best punishment would be for his wife to send him to the fregado with him having to suffer the consequences ,death is too easy (Of course then we would have more Brujo rants and no one wishes that maldicion around..)

I'm sorry but I am perplexed. How could Renata go along with her child being taken from her and reared by Macaria? I though she was fiesty (as evidenced by her tirade to Fausto), but whatever fight she had seems to have sadly dissipated. I'm going to cut her some slack here as she is likely worried some harm will come to her daughter.

I'm a bit surprised that I like Alejandro in the Lucio role - he is very good. Although I have to say no one uses a toothpick as skillfully as Rubio in LM. Count, I thought "mini Fofito" was a good description although I think you are giving him a bit more credit than I.
Was Macaria in the least bit sincere to Renata? I thought I saw a glimmer of regret but it seemed to quickly pass.
With the wedding tonight, Renata's bad luck continues.

I also like Alejandro Avila more in evil roles or roles that carry heavy emotional burden like Lucio,he obviously does not like to kill as seen in the previous episode.
As for Mac being honest to Renny,it is just like Merlito/Manuel Ojeda said when he said that she is known to shed her "skin" to suit her interests.Who knows if she felt anything while being Ren's ally,she is the perfect example of a stone cold manipulator.

My thoughts:
1.) Bruno is the male version of Greta: more deadlier & violent!
2.) Renata is WEAK to stand up to him!
3.) Connie needs to WOMAN UP.
4.) Poor Pablo: once Renata blurted out she was pregnant with his baby, his death warrant was all but sealed.
5.) I'm going to be interested to see how Mac raises Abigail as her "kid".

Bruno is so worthless,it is incredible.Conny needs to man up just like Steve said and start taking some action,the best she can do is leave Bruto for good,he has shown with his actions and his words that he should be better left alone .To wish that your own daughter should have died in the mothers womb should be the most obvious sign but of course in Telenovela land,having a functioning brain is a privilege and not a virtue!
Renata seems very weak and dim so maybe it's for the best Abigail gets taken away from her. Too bad she and Pablo couldn't have run off together.

I noticed that some songs from Robo were used in this novela,that is quite a nice touch.Anyway i am quite invested in Laisha Wilkings potraying TWO evil sisters even though i did not like her in Fuerza del Destina.It is much better than one good and one evil half for which we are already accoustomed to ! .Like Niecie ,i also cannot wait until i see what role will Fabian Robles play,i hope he plays a baddass supporting role that is on the good side for a change,i want him to play a private detective or something like that,we need someone who will be against Fausto without him being aware of and using his ranchero skills undercover!

I'm worried about getting into this one. LQLVMR had a very unsatisfying ending for me. I felt like the bad guys really did win in the end. Once you compare the body count of the good guys vs. bad guys, the fatherless children, the hearts broken...the anvils just didn't fall frequently and hard enough. I'm worried this show will be the same.

The novela has some potential and i look forward to watching and writing about it!
Although we could use some more people to join our team to ease our schedule since we both are doing 3 recaps each per week.I am not complaining though since i know that when people will wish to join,they will and we will be very grateful (Although we could keeep the snarkiness to ourselves too :) )

And the show is still quite young,Carville and i am liking the cast so far and i think if they keep a good pace and don"t mess up like with Robo ,it can atleast improve the reputation of the original Telenovela. I dont have my favorite characters yet is Fausto ,despite him being one of the unfortunates on my hate list. I also love the performance of Eric Del Castillo ,he makes his role quite believable,we just love to hate him ,like Joffrey Baratheon!

Last night I had a light-bulb moment. The whole episode was crying interspersed with yelling, plotting, mayhem, and do-it-yourself grave digging. When Wise Indian scared the bejeebus out of La Senora by appearing before her and intoning her family’s fate based on the temperature of the wind, I about fell off the couch. And then it dawned on me!
Stick with me here, because this pertains to our show: If you missed Reina de Corazones, you missed a treat. The whole thing was played very seriously, and had every single cliché known to telenoveladom, plus some we’ve never seen. (Sample: at the last minute, just before the boda, our muscle-y handsome hero has a heart attack, but that’s okay because the bride gives him CPR, and we’re all good to go!) R. de C. was a tongue-in-cheek send-up of telenovelas, a satire. We in the Caray feed went absolutely nuts commenting and having a glorious time with it.

Thanks, CS, for the exciting recap of a scary episode. I cannot imagine growing up with a horrible, abusive father like Bruno. My own dad was sweet and funny. Poor Renata has grown up feeling controlled and unloved by her father with a mother too weak to defend her. Perhaps Bruno has treated his wife in the same unloving, controlling manner.

Now, can somebody clarify for me who those two young boys were at Fausto's night before last? I know they're going to be important later.

Poor Pablo. At first I thought he hit Lucio in the neck with the shovel, but I guess it was his eye. I'm assuming there was an unspecified time jump between him dying and Ren having the baby?

Maggie,the two boys were Young Mateo( He will grow into our male protangoist,Mark Tacher) and Young Diego( Our Future Ferdinando Valencia) .

I think I saw about 5 mins of this last night. Enough to hear Bruno say that he is going to disinherit Renata and leave the ranch and everything to his asshole neighbor, simply because she was born female. He wouldn't even listen to common sense coming from his wife when she pointed out that said neighbor and his macho mustache have run his own ranch into debt. But of course he'll fix that eventually, thinks Bruno, because he's a MAN, and a macho one at that. And Bruno is sure his lands will be in fine man hands after he kicks the bucket (which can't happen soon enough). The only thing bad about Bruno's impending demise, is that he won't get to see the macho jerk he's sold his daughter to, drive his beloved ranch into the ground (ojala!).

Vivi, they haven't shown any strong women yet. Maybe after the time jump. So far everyone (of the women) is running scared.

Maggie,Mateo is Fausto"s supposed nephew and Elena's son or so it seems,there could be many mysteries and twists waiting for us. From todays episode,we learned that Lucio,the foreman( His exact position being unknown) have killed Fausto's brother because Fausties dad gave the lands to the brother when he died .So far the mystery about Mateo's father remains in high air.
As for Diego,i think i heard in the first episode that his mother abandoned him but his current whereabouts and everything else about him remains unknown.
Vivi,so far i havent seen any moderatly strong women except that servant( The one who potrayed Lucha in Por Siempre Mi Amor) .But these were only the flashbacks/younger times of the novela so i could expect more in the future in that aspect.

Other characters thought that wasn’t very nice, but they weren’t outraged. Since she was an antagonista, and a money-grubber who thought work was beneath her, we didn’t mind so much. But still, I wondered at the time.
And now here’s Bruno’s wife, cringing and weeping and he seems to have complete control over her. Can she also not leave because of having zero money? Why can she not just call a taxi and go visit her pregnant daughter? I understand this husband is a bully, but she doesn’t seem to feel her life is in danger. Yet she doesn’t leave. I know there are plenty of women who stay with abusive/controlling husbands. But when that man starts slapping YOUR child around, mentally and physically abusing YOUR child, and then steals YOUR grandchild, it's time to woman up and protect your kid/grandkid.

I guess Juli (LM) and weak mama here (sorry, don't know her name) did not marry with joint assets and didn't bring their own assets into the marriage. Also on tns, other than folks who live in Mexico City, divorce is a difficult and cumbersome thing that can be drawn out for a VERY long time. This seems to be true life in Mexico. But a person certainly can't drag it out forever. If you're motivated enough, then you can get out. You can at least physically separate yourself from that person. Of course, this lady might be very Catholic and wouldn't dream of leaving her husband. Till death do part and all that.

Ah you guys have picked up on an important point, Renata comes from a good family and there's no way she is un-educated, she might have zero work experience but I bet you she went to the best schools, in fact Bruno's cover for sending her away was telling people she went to Mexico to study.

Here in the U.S. if you kept your wife imprisoned, the law would be all over you. In California, which is a community-property state, if you’ve been married all those years you get alimony. I realize not all Mexican marriages are community-property, but still! The La Malquerida’s husband’s rationale when his wife said “But I raised our sons!” was that she had servants, so she didn’t do anything. It’s no fun seeing a mother’s contributions (she did love her sons) devalued in that way. Plus somebody has to manage the servants and the household. I guess your efforts don’t count unless they turn into money. Again, as she was a antagonista, there wasn’t much comment when the husband popped out with that.

Maggie- At first there was support for Juli to get what she deserved, but then she kept getting worse and worse (as a human being), and showed that she didn't even care about the well-being of her children. Just the money and prestige. After that, no one cared if she got a just divorce settlement or not.
I can't see Rebecca Jones playing meek and mild, so let's hope grownup Renata is more of a fighter than young (*cough*) Renata played by Iran C.
