Que Te Perdone Dios on Monday, January 19, 2015 "Let's Do This!"

We begin in Real de San Andres where a truck pulls up amongst a bunch of ranch workers. Our (soon to be primera actriz) current star Renata Riquelme is snacking on grapes as astrapping ranch hand Pablo comes up on horseback eyeing her. Bruno chides his daughter for having gone by herself for grapes. He doesn't want her near any campesinos that could harm or take advantage of her. Her mother comes in saying she likes to see her and her father hug. Macaria has come in to help with the grapes and then is encharged with going with Renata for a swim and not abandoning her under any circumstances. Pablo comes in. Macaria (who is all Sabine Moussier'd up skin, make-up and hair-wise) and Renata girl chat about what Renata is really going to do.

Bruno wants Pablo to prove his worth (and that unfortunately doesn't mean he can have Ren.) Pab. is happy to oblige; cowboy hat and all.

Renata is stripping and dipping in the typecast Abismo de Pasion lagoon while Pab. pulls up and watches. He removes his hat and all attire to make a splash with her. They kiss and after their skinny-dip, talk about marriage. He wants to make her happy and unfortunately, her parents are against this. He refers to himself as a peon and she reassures him of her unconditional love for him.

Fausto and Helena (Maria Sorte) talk about marriage.. with Renata. After Helena leaves, Macaria (whose rump roast has been on pause for a minute pipes up and) says to Fausto he can't marry Renata because she is his! Fausto reassures Mac about their relationship standing and soon wants to make whoopie with Mac but she says she isn't feeling it. After he leaves, to herself she starts with her, "You won't marry Renata, you!" babbles and we all know where this is headed.

Renata and Pablo are getting into some tender and toasty loving with the embellishment of wind chimes. (Might I say Brandon Peniche has a nice rump roast himself? Yes I shall.)

One of the no-name maids who I remember as Lucha from PSMA and a kid talk about Renata having been out for quite some time and that Bruno hasn't realized. She who has been baptized as Lucha until she has a legit name says God forbid any tragedies occur.

Macaria snitches on Ren to Bruno who has commanded it and tells him about their plan they had the day before. Bruno gets handsy with Mac and she spills the soup; Ren is with Pab! Bruto is walking up the type-cast spiral staircase from Al Diablo con Los Guapos and gets his rifle. He's got some shootin' to do. Macaria is thinking out loud that due to her tattle-tale, Renata Riquelme will be an untouchable; especially in the aspect of Fausto Lopez-Guerra.

Ren and Pab. are in bed professing love while Bruno is riding on horseback to abruptly disrupt the love-nest.

The maids and Mac are debating; Mac's mom who is one of the no-name maids reminds her she is just a maid and that Fausto is a man-whore (see the song He's a Tramp from Disney's Lady and the Tramp) but Mac isn't having that truth be told enter her ears. The kid from earlier is just glaring at Mac, says some choice words and walks away triumphantly.

Bruno has interrupted the love making and Pab. defends himself. Bruno has hit him in the face with the rifle and pulled away Renata with brute force, leaving Pab. for dead on the wooden floor.

Brute is yanking Ren inside and she kneels on the floor in agony. Constanza comes to comfort Ren and chide Brute to the best of her ability. He drops the ball; Renata was coitally involved with a no-body! She did it because she loves him with all her heart and will marry him. Connie asks Ren if she is pregnant while Brute keeps bitching and is about to shoot Ren. when Connie puts herself in front and he has a hard time shooting. Instead, he shall forbid Renata from coming out of the hacienda!

Pablo who has a bandage on his head is being encouraged by his brother/friend played by Manuel Ojeda (I think) to go incognito for his own good. Pablo says he loves Renata Riquelme and will not give up.

Connie and Ren talk mother/daughter talk (she clearly is the empathetic parent, ladies and gents.) Ren says that Pab loves her as much as she loves him. Yeah, Connie's sympathy is not all there as she tells her to abort and Ren objects (not that she IS, she is just antiabort in general, right?)

Mac snitches some more to Brute about how long Ren has been with Pab (give or take 3 months!) As penalty for not having reported to Brute ASAP, MAC-Bitch-in-Training and her no-name mom are on the dole, given the pink slip and just plain fired!

Ren says she had fainted so that could be a pregnancy sign. Connie says they should get an analysis (if not the sympathetic one, the smart one.) and that she will help her (2/2 ain't bad!) I think an abortion is mentioned once more (damn it, day one and I'm already docking someone repeatedly,) rejected and then Mac is chided by Greg now (and held hostage with Ren until her canary song is done. I think that they have it on loop by accident and haven't an idea how to revert it.)

BrujoBroGuy and Pablo talk about Renata and leaving some more. He is going to have to forget her but Pablo is resilient in keeping Renata and his relationship on lock! That's my perfect-rump-roast man!

Lucio (Alejandro Avilo's character who is reminiscent of Rubio from La Malquerida )and Fausto appear to be socios and pretty much partners-in-crime. 'Sto and Vic raise shot glasses to 'Sto soon marrying Ren because you know, Fausto Lopez-Guerra always gets what he wants and when he wants it.

Mac drops the ball to Ren; she and her no-name mom are fired. Ren wants to get Mac her job back and Mac is in total accordance.  Mac is encouraging Hopelessly Romantic Renata to go find Pab. and run away with him. This is impeded by Brutus Fatherus. Ren is on her knees crying and begging him not to harm Pab.

Brujo Guy and Pab. talk with Lucio about 'Sto proposing to Ren which is slowly enfuriating Pab. Pab is going to take Ren away with him tonight. BrujoGuy is inside the cabin while Brutus is going to burn his cabin from the outside

(SARA, DIVA, ANYONE ELSE! LA SOMBRA DEL PASADO PROMO! IT'S COMING AFTER THAT MURF LA GATA! WOOT WOOT!)

The cabin is burning with BrujoBro inside. Oh Noes all around! Brutus just drives off.

Connie and MAC-Bitch see the distant fire from the window and 1 of the 2 (isn't it obvious?) choose to make a big stink about it in front of Ren who runs outside to see what the hubbub is all about. Connie is afraid of all the possibilities so she lights a candle when Pablo appears behind her and says he is there for Renata.

(End-of-Capitulo)

Avance(s)- Brute tells 'Sto he can take Ren and 'Sto has cone to claim her.

Great recap, CS! Thanks so much!

This was a nice premiere. I'll keep on watching.

I hated the theme song though.

"Macaria (who is all Sabine Moussier'd up skin, make-up and hair-wise)"

Yes. I knew right away that Macaria would eventually be played be Sabine. Speaking about Macaria, she has pearly white teeth. They really stood out in HD.

I love the name Brute. I'm already hating him. I loved it when Fausto suggested burying him if he became a problem.

I knew Pablo would make it out of the fire. I loved the end where she shows up at the hacineda and frightens Mommie Dearest.

CS: Thanks so much for the info on La Sombra Del Pasado coming on after La Gata. I FF through the commercials and missed it. Just went back to watch my recording and saw it. It looks good.

This novela has serious potential. I hope it is on the good side of Caray Caray! like Eva Luna and not the bad side like El Talisman (both being novelas aired in the US first that were good and bad respectively.)

Really quick comment....Thanks CS!

Mauricio, I agree about the theme song. I already miss hearing the theme song of La Malquerida.

Is Brandon P's character going to die (again)? Can't wait to see Sabine and Fabian again as well as Altair and Ferdinando V.

I'll try and post more tomorrow.

Masterful recap! And i am just loving to see Alejandro Avila in an evil role again,he is much better in these roles! I loved the nicknames you gave to Bruno such as Bruto,Brujo and also MAC-Bitch( I love Ale Garcia -Sabine style btw!) ,just wow !

CS – terrific recap, really funny!

Wow, this thing is really cheesy. The acting reminds me of the silent movies in their earliest days. I lay that entirely at the feet of the director, ‘cause there are plenty of excellent actors here. And more to come! A lot of my faves are in this thing, so I’m going to stick with it and see if it grows on me.

The scenery is lovely, though, and I did appreciate that there is an actual crop in the field, unlike in Malquerida where everybody said they were growing cotton but all we ever saw were empty plowed fields. Nice grapes! And the hacienda is cool, kinda Moorish or something.

Another thing that make this the best is if it follows Ernesto Alonso's 47-capitulo adaptation instead of that nasty l'il ol' 130/195 capitulo non-sense planned. Just sayin' C:

Thanks, CS. I watched the first ten minutes and liked the hacienda and some of the familiar actors . What novelas has the actress playing Renata's maid been in ? She looked familiar. I'm in for now.

Doubt it,today Novelas are mostly 110~160 episodes long ,they get more money from the longer ones.

I watched up to the them song (which I'm not crazy about) and then had to got to bed. I hope to finish watching later today.

What I saw of it was pretty. I liked the hacienda and practically every actor on the Televisa roster is in this.

Thanks for recapping and getting us started!

CS, you did an excellent job of the initial episode. I can only imagine how hard it is to identify everyone and start the story.

"Might I say Brandon Peniche has a nice rump roast himself? Yes I shall.)" and "Macaria (who is all Sabine Moussier'd up skin, make-up and hair-wise)" were excellent.

I agree that the scenery is spectacular and what a cast! I also cannot wait to see Altair, Fabian, Sabine and Ferdinando!

TF "Is Brandon P's character going to die (again)?" Although what happens has appeared in promos for this, I will only say that he has died in everything I've seen him in. Sigh.

Susanlynn, Macaria is being played by the actress from Robo who lost her sight (and Alejandro Avila's wife).

Forbidden love between different classes. A pregnancy. Attempted murder. All the usual TN components are in play. But, I'm going to give this a chance and see what happens.

I am thrilled the new Susana Gonzalez TN is coming next month so I am definitely in on that.

CS, thanks for a terrific recap.

Diana

I am going to watch the episode right now and will give my judgment on it later ,i just came from home . Susalynn ,she is played by Alejandra Garcia ,the blind wife of our famous scumbag Pedro Medina from Lo Que La Vida Me Robo!

I heard Rene Stickler is also in this novela,i wonder if he will last in this show ,he is like Sean Bean of the novelas, always getting killed ,like it is a part of some ritual! I do not recall any novela that he survived, maybe it got out of my memory

Thanks , Diana and Count, for identifying that actress. She looked so familiar, I tried to imagine her without the curly wig. I had never seen that actress before Robo.

I only watched the first ten minutes, but I plan to watch the rest of the episode today. I like the camera angles as the camera zooms down into the hacienda. I like Ana Bertha and many of the other familiar actors.

I know who Sabine and Fabian are, but who is Altair and Ferdinando ?

Thanks CS, excellent.

LM it ain't but who doesn't like a mother, daughter, stepfather love triangle instead of a stereotypical Boss Hog bully daddy, damsel in distress, cowering coward mother, Robin Hood in tights and Snidely Whiplash.

Poor Brandon Peniche, dude needs to change agents.

C.S.: Having missed the first episode most appreciated the snarky initial blow by blow. Sounds like it has some great potential,ITA.

Anyway, i watched the premiere and it seemed quite tense and the cast is great,i like how they turned Mr Castillo into a misjudged soul that is capable of doing it all ,even burn down a house but i am sure he will regret it sooner or later because Mr Castillo generically plays supportive characters with a temper. We did not see much of Fausto but he already showed signs of his evil and what he is capable of doing.

I REALLY disliked both the theme song and the ending song,i expected some better song like on the tier of LM or Robo ( El Perdedor) so in that aspect i am terribly dissapointed.

As for MO,his appearance is so far horrifyingly bad but i will give it time, remember personality is sometimes a better atraction than the looks,he couldnt even catch the attention of my Grandmother if he tried!

I cannot wait to begin recapping this tommorow,it does not seem so hard to recap this show since it does not contain much dialogue. In short ,the novela has a lot of potential and i hope it is not wasted.

.

Oh and by the way CS and everyone to clarify, that kid you talked about, that kid was Young Mateo, which will eventually grow into our male protangoist. We saw Fausto talk to him calling him by his name, until Maria Sorte came and they began talking about marriage. She appeared to be paid to take care of him or something and it did not seem like Faustie is Mateo's biological uncle but just a proclaimed one.

Thank you Jardinera, Maggie, tofie, Count, Sara, susanlynn, TF Mau and Diana. I can recap for tonight too if necessary.

I'm seeing ties of Norbie (if he had a daughter at all) in Bruno; if he who slapped his wife on several occasions, burned his son's arm, organized the kidnapping of mentioned son's best friend and maybe 1 or 2 more things I'm forgetting can be redeemed, so could Brute. I'm probably just not used to Eric delCastillo as a baddie (his worst was Clemente in NAM and lastly was redeemed.)

I think what caught me off-guard the most about LSdP is that it's taking La Gata's timeslot. I think it deserved later since it's just at or surpassing PSMA-level dark but as you can tell, Uni and sometimes Televisa just care about airing the higest rated shows as soon as possible and creating specific novelas just so they don't have to air certain ones.

Susanlynn, Ferdinando was also in Robo, Adolfo who was in love with Fina (but who lost out to Dimitrio, her one true love. He was also in Mentir and many other other things.

Altair has been in Mentir, Abismo, and Guapos to name a few. She's very interesting and a great villain.

Diana

Did Altair and Ferdinando ever interact in MPV (Raquel and Berto?) I know they sure as hell did in En Nombre del Amor (Romina and German.) I wonder they'll bring us here and if Altair will go full villana to the point of no return and not just a flossie little brat that's redeemed at the end.

Pardon me,Maria Sorte seems to play the role of Mateo's biological mother who left town and putted him in Fausto's " care" . I think i could be recapping tommorow ,i like going into more detail and i will try my best to make it look as best as possible,i am not critizing you by the way because everyone has a different style. I will pay more attention to details and dialogue and i hate giving you double duty. If something will not go along,i will ask you.

And i kind of doubt Bruno resembles Norbie in any way so far,Norbie was much more sociopathic and crazy in nature and he was redeemed only around the end, when his son got killed. Bruno acts on anger because he has a temper,he wishes to protect his daughter and the reputation of his family but has false positives on how to fulfill that role ,like Constanza( Ren's mom) said he actually wished for a son.
And i could just see the uneasiness when he was burning the house,he was not laughing away,it more felt like his soul was dying inside.

But his untrust and his temper and his superiority struggle will bite him in the ass ,i am sure of it!

critisizing you*

I don't think Bruno just snapped but has always been this way. My way (cause I'm the man and rich) or no way and his wife goes around apologizing for him.

CS, I didn't watch MPV but loved them in Guapos.

Diana

Yeah,it seems he has has always been like that ,like his snobbishness and the overprotection of his daughter. He seems to be very strict with her and does not appreciate her much but i do not think he would do criminal acts every day,he is not sure how to treat a daughter because he never had one ,when Connie was giving birth he expected a son, atleast that is what Connie said while she was talking to Renny. From the premiere all i was thinking when watching Eric Castillo was how a tortured soul his role is.

But again, this is only episode 1,we shall see how his development goes on in the future. So far the only thing i cannot withstand yet is the crappy opening song LOL

CorazonSalvaje - Fine recap. Thanks for all the merry details.

ITA the scenery was gorgeous. I have to give a shout-out to Eric del Castillo - he looked fabulous in a blazer. This is my first time seeing him as a baddie. Brandon Peniche was a cutie in his short haircut too.

I like a lot of the cast, and I'm looking forwarding to seeing what type of character Fabian Robles will play. Not so sure about the story though.

I also like Altair,i would love her to have a protagonist love ,she can do anything they want.I cannot wait to see her performance in this novela.Do you imagine her wearing a Wizards hat ,flying away in her sexy Hallloween costume on a broom ,preparing to blast the unfortunate souls to the four dimensions? I sure do!

Fabian Robles is in this one too? I cannot believe this,it is as if like the entire cast was invited to roller-coaster together and that is where the idea came from! I certainly hope that it has some strong writing to couple with the star actors ,otherwise it is just talent wasted, just like La Tempestad .
I have an opinion that even if we have all of the best stars in one movie and the writing sucks to high heavens,it would be a waste of time, just like The Expendables ..

For the Altair comment: Protangoist role, not love LOL

"I know who Sabine and Fabian are, but who is Altair and Ferdinando ?"

I've only seen Altair play rich bitch villainesses and Ferdinando, I've only seen him play pretty boy villains. Although I understand he was a pretty good guy in the novela where Silvia Navarro was in a grape field (?). I didn't see that one.

Bruto was doing too much! Shotguns, burning down the house etc.

McNasty was trifling too, snitching on Renata one minute but grinning up in her face the next.

Poor Connie probably wants to help Renata but doesn't want to catch a cup of crazy from Bruto, either.

Anon207 ,glad you joined us ! And that novela was called Cuando Me Enamoro,he was in love with the role Ariadne Diaz played and was a love rival of Jose Ron,from what i remember his name was Chema.

Oops not Ariadne Diaz ,but Florencia Del Saracho ,.

The "La Malquerida" theme song was beautiful. I loved everything about it. Angelli made a poor choice with the theme song she chose for this TN.

Bruno did look as if he felt bad burning down the shack. Still, I'm not liking him. Not liking Mommie Dearest either after her suggesting abortion.

I frogot to mention - the scene at the lake when Renata was skinny dipping and Pab shows up and starts to get undressed was creepy at first. They made it seem as if Pab was gonna attack Renata. Then it turned sweet when Renata was happy to see him.

Yeah ,the theme song was just UGH,any other song of an diffferent genre would have been better, than that Mierda !.But i guess there are some things you cannot change, anyway i got a bit acked when Connie suggested abortion and that she wants it to stop being a problem .No way ,in the seven hells should you say that to your daughter, ever but this is TN Land so we will have to forgive her.

I too thought the dunking scene was creepy at first but it all went better when she finally saw him.For me it was a quite well done scene .

You also should never telll your daughter that her father wanted her to be a boy and that said father didn't even want to come into the room to see her until a few days had passed.

CS, in MPV Berto and Raquel did interact. For a while they were plotting to separate Ricardo (David Zepeda) and Oriana/Ines (Mayrin Villanueva).

I've only seen Ferdinado in En Nombre Del Amor. He looked like Eddie Munster in that one. LOL

I watch on DVR since I am watching Duenos at that time. It seems all the telenovela's rules are in check, lol. I am in for now
Romy
p.s. love the snarky recap keep it coming.

It 's nice that you joined us and that you watch Duenos,Romy! How do you like Duenos so far?

CountX, LOLing at the Sean Bean of Telenovelas!

Thanks Corazon for starting this one off.

Looks great so far but 10-11pm isn't easy.

The ranch/farm hacienda and scenery was so lovely and had great appeal.

It is always hard to start with a whole bunch of new characters. I'm going crazy trying to figure out who everyone is and Spanish names are not always to catch on to. Nicknames are fine but even more confusing the first week or to. I guess that eventually I will catch on to all that are in the cast. Sabine and Brandon are about the only cast members that I know or can recognize right from the start.

I wasn't impressed with the theme song either.

One thought that did come to mind last night---In LM at one point Hector was talking to Acacia. Acacia didn't want to hear it and started to walk away. Hector reached out and held her arm to get her to stop for a few minutes and listen. Cries went up---He manhandled her. QUE? He didn't manhandle her at all but the father Bruno really did manhandle his daughter last night. WOW! What a mean/hot tempered brute.

Was that daughter Iran Castillo?
If Renata was Iran, I didn't recognize her at all.

So the writers are trying to kill off Brandon early on. He lasted most of the way through LM. Can't wait to see where this will go tonight.
the gringo

Gringo, that was Iran last night!

Hi, gringo.Yes, Renata is Iran Castillo. She looks very different from the way she looked in Alborada. In that tn, she had long, dark hair. I will not be able to watch this episode until later today. I hope that this show is good because LM was great.

Does anyone know the title of Susana Gonzales' new tn And when it starts?

My dear Lord(CountxAlacran, get it?)since I am a rabid Kate del Castillo fan, I will paint dry if she's the painter so I like it so far. Cheesy? eh *shrug* the budget, for extras and locales, could use a few dollars more but it is not La Gata. I noticed, sadly, my Kate is getting a bit long in the tooth but who isn't?
Romy

Susanlynn - La Sombra del Pasado and it starts Feb 16.

I want to follow this one, however Hulu still hasn't put up the first episode yet. Hopefully they will put it up this evening.

Thanks Eli and Susanlynn---I never would have known. Such a different look for Iran, I couldn't have even guessed. I was just going by reading a list of the cast but I couldn't believe it and had to ask.
the gringo

Romy - by "cheesy" I didn't mean low-budget. I was thinking trite storyline and simplistic utra-dramatic acting. The look of this one is very nice, very upscale, I'd say!

My dearest Maggie, I did not see your post where you "may" have said "cheesy" It was me saying it is on the cheesy side. I think the streets always look deserted because of no extras and such and by cheesy I meant "usual novelas drama" Sorry for any confusion.
Romy

I'm watching the rest of the episode now and hearing the theme song a second time. I like it better and I see it's Calibre 50. I've got quite a bit of their music on my ipod.

I don't think it matches the "feel" of the opening credits though.

Thanks, Corazon. I saw a bit of this last night, but went to bed early. I missed the theme song, so don't have an opinion. But if the Patio thinks it's bad, I'm sure I'll agree.

I have been wondering why they chose Iran to play "young" Renata when she's 38! My contemporary, so I'm not saying she's old, but if we're talking about playing a teen/early 20s, too long in the tooth. It's not like she and Rebecca Jones are dead ringers so they felt like they couldn't pass up using her. Just doesn't make sense.

ps Brandon P looks mighty fine riding that horse.

I am watching the episode right now. I noticed that the father clutched his chest when he went for his rifle...heart attack coming up ?

Well, poor Brandon had his arm and hand bandaged in LM, and he has graduated to a head bandage in this one.

I , too, am wondering how we are supposed to buy Iran as a teen.

Ana Bertha looks beautiful in that green wrap. I want it.

Curly is a little weasel.

Sara...The best horsemen I ever saw in a tn were in Alborada....Fernando Colunga, Marcelo Cordoba, and Alejandro Tomassi. They rode at full speed holding onto the reins with one hand, YIKES

Susanlynn - I need to get my Alborado Dvd out and rewatch them. If they cut out the horse riding parts, oh well. ;)

I'm liking MO better as a brujo/curandero. He certainly looks the part.

When Daddy Dearest set fire to that shack, did he know that Pablo was inside ? When Pablo showed up behind Ren's mother and said "I am here for your daughter"at the very end, I thought for a minute that he was carrying a machete, but I think it was some kind of big stick.

Thanks CS for the recap.

Saw this last night. Hated the theme song. I will be FF through that tonight.

Vivi, ITA, the actress playing Renata too old to be playing that role.

I can't wait for Mark Thatcher, the only reason I am watching this. Loved him in La Hija del Mariachi. Also have to agree on the rump roast on Brandon Peniche.

Hasta pronto...

Susanlynn,
I also thought Pablo was holding a machete in his hand.

Romy - how funny we both went for the word "cheesy". Hmm.. this may not bode well for this new show.

Vivi--I agree about Iran's age. I was looking at her bio on Wikipedia last night. Brandon is only 27. I guess it's a matter of pulling off the age of your character especially if the actor or actress is older than their character is supposed to be.

Thanks for recapping this novela. I enjoyed your recap very much. Well, I recognized Nadia, Victor, El Padre, Rosario (alejandros mom) and waiting for Fofito's appearance. They were all in LQLVMR. Although I am fans of all, except Sergio G, I will say say it again that in a country with millions of people, they use the same handful of actors and actresses. It is fun dissecting the characters hair, the roles, could be a peon or maid in one novella or a member of high society in the next. Also it seemed that Connie, Renatas mom and Mr Castillo might had a bit of work done on their lower face and chin with good results. I, too, loved her green rebozo and the style she wore it with.
