Mi Corazon Es Tuyo, #172 Fernando is THE MAN!!!!

Wow, this show felt like it was about 3 hours long, there was a lot of detail to put in since it was such an action packed episode. I think this is my last recap for this TN, I can't say it's been my favorite show, but not my worst either.

We start with Jen and Jonny talking to a woman at the orphanage, or wherever Aura is, and she tells them that the biological father of Aura is claiming his daughter. Then he comes into the room and Jen gives him the stink eye.

León is preparing the dinner table for his night with Fanny. The doorbell rings and he’s expecting it to be Fanny, except we are gifted with the unfortunate return of Laura. She starts stripping her clothes off.

Ana and Alicia come home and Ana confronts Alicia about what she did. Ana is not happy about what she did, but we all know from past experience that all Alicia has to do is whine and all will be forgiven. She storms up to her room.

At the hospital, Diego sits Fernando down in the waiting room. He has something he needs to tell Fer. Diego tells him that Diego Nicolas is not his son. He saw the paternity test that Isabela had done. Enrique Basurto is the baby daddy.  And then Yomama confirmed it, Enrique and Isa were lovers before Fernando came into the picture. He shows him the analysis. Needless to say, Fer is in shock. He tells Diego to stay at the hospital, he’s got to talk with Isabela. Diego calls Ana to come to the hospital, he needs to go after Fernando. He won’t tell her why.

Fanny arrives at León’s apartment. As Laura stands there naked, Fanny arrives and walks over to her instead of running out of the apartment crying, which is what I expected from the writers. She asks her if she has any dignity at all? And can she just leave now?

Back at the orphanage, David, the father, says he knew nothing of Isadora, the mother of the baby. Then Isadora died, but right before she died, she told David that they had a daughter. Jonny wants a DNA test, David says bring it, he knows he’s the father.

At the hospital, Diego is feeding Sebastian soup while Nando watches. They are explaining Nando’s past love lives to Diego.

Laura puts her clothes back on, Fanny says she trusts León 100%, now, but Laura tries one more time to convince León that she loves him. Fanny says that it’s not love, Laura just wants what Fanny has. Laura leaves but not before she tells them that she’s not giving up. Great!

Fer is at Isa’s and he’s steaming mad. He shouts that he wants the complete truth. She tells him that Fer is the father until Fer pulls out the paper that Diego found in her apartment that says Fer isn’t the father. He made the worst mistake in his life marrying her and now look where they are. What are you going to do, she asks. He goes on saying that he gave her his last name, he fell in love with the baby, and she fooled him this entire time. She tries to act innocent, saying that she didn’t know, but he comes back with the fact that she and Enrique were lovers, she recommended him for the job, but she insists she didn’t know Enrique was the father. Fernando thinks they colluded together, Enrique to destroy him and his business, she to marry him for his money, she says no, she had no idea what Enrique’s plan was for Fernando. She tried to warn Fernando about Enrique’s plan once she knew of it, but Fer says she only warned him once their plan went out of control.

Edith is moving back into her old room, and Ximena knocks at the door. Xi wants to know what Edith’s intentions are by coming back. Edith insists that she’s not back for Nando. But then she starts playing with Ximena. Going back and forth about loving, not loving Nando. Finally Ximena leaves and they agree not to compete over being friends with Fanny, Edith says that her friendship with Fanny is why she came back.

Fanny and León are dining, laughing and acting all in love and crap.....

Fer and Isa continue. (I am very uncomfortable with all this shouting and fighting in earshot of the baby). Anyway, Fer says the worst isn’t what she did to him, or that she colluded with a murderer. The worst is what she’s done to her son. He then goes over to the baby, picks him up, realizes that he’s hot and may have a fever.

Ana is plying Diego for news about what Fernando is doing at Isa’s. Is he there to get the baby? No, after teasing her a bit, he finally tells her. DN is the son of Enrique, not Fernando.

Back to Fer and Isa. She yells at him that he can’t take her son. He calmly tells, her that if she wants to lose her apartment and stipend, then he will leave the baby with her. He then puts the baby in the carrier, picks it up, and walks toward the door. She wants him to tell Diego that she’s going to get even with him, but she doesn't try to stop him from taking DN.  He warns her not to threaten anyone, and to rub it in, her tells her that he’s the happiest man in the world being with Ana. The baby starts to cry, he picks him up and tells Isa that she’s lost, don’t touch the baby, and she better never hurt any of his 8 children again. Then he leaves with Diego Nicolas. Can I just swoon right now over Mr Fabulous♥♥♥.

At the hospital, Angel informs everyone that Sebastian can go home tomorrow. Fernando calls Angel to tell him that he’s bringing DN to see Angel because he has a fever. Angel and Ana leave the room to check the baby. It turns out he has a skin infection from not having his diapers changed often enough, and he has an inflamed abdomen from inadequate formula, ohh, poor baby. Fernando says his son can not go back to that woman. Can this man get any sexier?

Now it’s Ana’s turn. Isa answers the doorbell, and the first thing Ana does is slap that bitch across the face, lol. I can tell from Ana’s expression she is thinking, “oh, that felt so good.”  Ana is furious that Isa could put the baby’s health at risk the way she did. And if she ever tries to do anything to her or Fernando or the baby, she will hurt her. Then she leaves.  Isa is having a no good, very bad day.

Back to Fanny and León. More boring lovey dovey stuff. I’m pretty sure they will end up in the bedroom.

Back at the mansion, Ana is holding DN and Fernando can’t wrap his mind around the fact that DN isn’t his son. Ana quickly corrects him that he is his son, their son. Then they call each other marvelous, and they love each other, yada, yada, yada. Fer mentions that he could use Angel’s testimony over Isa’s neglect in order to get custody.
Ok, I am about to cry, Fer holds DN up, tells him that he’s never going to let anything happen to him, they show a closeup of the baby looking at Fernando with the sweetest smile ever! Oh be still my heart. If you can get a chance to view that scene, I highly recommend it. Pheww.

Angel comes into Seb’s rooom and gives the go ahead to go home.

That morning, Fer is conferring with his attorney to get his marriage to Isa annulled. He wants to marry Ana in the church.

Computer guy, don’t know his name, is a glutton for punishment and has arrived at Isa’s place. She has a new project for him. She wants to hurt Fer and Ana. She wants to install a computer virus into their computers.( I think)

Alicia’s punishment. No Pablo for a month.

Jen and Jonny get the DNA results. David is the father.

Ana takes a pregnancy test. Ana is pregnant. Fanny and Ana jump for joy.

Bruno and Manuela decide to make their marriage, which I didn’t know before now that they were going to get married, (I must have missed something yesterday), a secret, except the kids hear it and run away with the info.

Mas tarde, unos dias pienso, Fernando gets the good news from his lawyer that he got custody of DN, and he calls Ana. Ana is at the doctors to confirm the pregnancy just when Fer calls.  He tells her the good news, she’s excited that they both have good news, then he asks what her news is.

No avances this time.

Looking forward to the recap!!

Thought it was interesting that there were no previews for next week but a Diego collage. Hope that doesn't portend Isa making good on her threat to get back at him.

One of the things ive been worried about is that this show would go as dark as PEAM. Hope that doesn't happen in our last week!

So Ana's preggers. Was there really any doubt?! Lol

I was surprised that there wasn't a court scene with DNs custody. I would have thought Isa would have used DNs paternity but I guess she wants her money more...which I think is what Fer threatened her with.

Thanks in advance, cathyx! I fondly remember those last minute sub calls. They were always my favorite classes to teach.

How satisfying! Finally! Isabella sure got her due with: 1) Fernando just cutting through her silly excuses with a repeated "No me importa." ( It doesn't matter to me.) 2) Ana giving her another what-for with a slap included. 3) Fernando getting custody of Diego Nicolás due to Isabella"s neglectful treatment of the baby. 4) Fernando seeking an annullment through the church so he can marry Ana in the church. Great scenes; great acting.

My favorite part was Ana and Fanny jumping and "galloping" around like a couple of little kids now that Ana knows she is pregnant.

Very appropriate punishment for Alicia: one month no Pablo. Let is see if she will abide by it since she is begging for Ana to intercede on shortening it a little and Ana says she will try.

What havoc will Isabella wreak now with her computer expert? He wants his money because he has not been paid. Will he continue working for her?

I am really looking forward to this last week.

Jarifa

The computer nerd might rat Isa out, he doesn't seem truly evil.
Isa seemed so distraught when Fernando walked out with her baby...but we haven't seen that kind of maternal interest before, so maybe she was just upset to be losing her meal ticket. And it looks like they are throwing Laura in as a last minute contender for mischief. She is kinda scary!

J in Oregon

Ana slapping Isa can't be compared to Juliana slapping Luc on Quierto Amarte!

One thing that I found a little strange---Fernando y Isabella were yelling and screaming at each other for quite a while. I didn't time the confrontation but it did go on for what seemed to be a long time. The baby was right there next to them the whole time but didn't start crying until Fernando was starting to leave. Did anyone think that was a little odd? I mean, wouldn't the baby have been crying when all of the loud yelling first started?
the gringo

I'm dreading what's coming up. I agree Carvile, I thought the collage for Diego was strange. Is something going to happen to him? The previews show Isabella slapping him. They also show Isa with a gun and in the next shot, Ana is screaming and crying over someone who looks like they might have been shot. It looks like a child, hope I'm wrong.

I also agree that the scene with Fer and Isa went on for too long.

Edith was confusing me with her mixed messages. One minute she's telling Xime that she's playing the same game as her, but then she's saying that she doesn't want Nando and means it. The double talk was confusing. I do like the toughness though. I hope she stays this course because it's such a better image of her. Or is this part of her plan to torture Ximena and drive her insane with jealousy and cause Nando and Ximena to break up?

laura was looking hot, but damn girl move on! I'm glad Fanny saw through the nonsense but Laura does not seem to be ready to let Leon go yet.

I think this show is about to get very dark.

I do fear that this program will head toward a dark ending for somebody. And Pablo Montero has been a sacrificial lamb before.

There is nothing maternal in Isabitch. DN has been her meal ticket from the get-go and now the gravy train ride is over. He is of no value to her.

As to Arquemides, I see him as a moral blank slate. He is a computer geek who thinks Science rules all vs having any sense of philosophy that demands to know why things happen or are demanded. He may be desperate for cash, but being hired to hack someone else's computers should not be sitting well with him. He is old enough to know better.

Ok, the recap is up!

Knowing Osorio, we will go dark right before the finale. My worry is that Isa will go after Ana, who she ultimately sees as the undoing of her plans going all the way back to Harvard and Diego will "save" Ana however they play it out. Now, they actually kill him off and I cry fowl. He may not have a romantic attachment to anyone which for whatever ungodly reason to Osorio means the character doesn't matter, but he is beloved by the kids and that is beyond cruel to me. So if he has to be the target of Isa's rage, he better survive. It would get her locked up for good though for attempted murder.

The acting between Jorge and Mar was superb in those agrument scenes. Yes, was she distraught, but I also took it as realizing the jig is up and she has no chance of ever getting Fer back (remember last time in the house she still referred to it as HER house) nor being able to use the little one as her meal ticket.

That said, that baby is a saint. I was looking for earplugs thinking maybe that's why no fussing while the yelled over him. But I did notice Jorge when he picked him up, he held him close so one ear was up against his body and he held the blanket up to cover the other ear. Bless him. The scene later with him alone with the little guy had me melting.

I didn't really get the whole Edith/Ximena thing either. And is Nando waffling again? He needs to tell both of them he's done and go off to college somewhere.

Daisynjay

Fab, cathyx! We crossed up with my first comment.

I waited for your recap to get clarification on the whole adoption thing. So did David not know his baby had been abandoned and now wanted her? Honestly, if that's the case, I sort of have to say yeah for him taking the responsibility? Or did he just wait all this time...I haven't been paying attention much to this plot and watching Jen and Johny be so rude to him, I know they are upset, but would think they would support a father claiming a daughter he just found out he had? Confused.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay, the baby isn't that old. He went to find the baby as soon as he knew he had a daughter and where she was.

Cathyx, Thank you so much for the recap. I am catching up from a week away and appreciate the recappers so much.

Jarifa - I also enjoyed the scene of Ana and Fanny dancing about the pregnancy. Very cute.

Glad that Fanny has confidence in Leon and we don't have to go through episodes of doubt now that she is finally settled on him.

Diego (PM) is very good with the child actors. He is an appealing actor and character, as I think I say every time that we see him.

Johnny and Jenny - no sure where the Aura story is going, but given the little time left I am assuming that the father will see the light and let them adopt Aura, allowing him to see her now and then.

Fernando played his hand with Isa perfectly and was truly the hero of the day, keeping little DN, amazing baby-actor.

Loved the Ana/Fanny dance.

On West Coast and didn't get previews. I just thought they didn't show them like they do sometimes at the end of a novela's run and we would start getting montages of different characters instead.

Thanks for this most excellent recap, cathyx. Very nicely done.

OK, what do we know about Aura's mom besides that she apparently abandoned her baby and now is dead? Was she a teen like the moms of some of the other babies at the children's center? David looks to me a little too full grown to be the father of a teen mom's child. His story sounds fishy to me. He had no idea that he had a child until he reunited with the mother just in time for her to die? Ummmm...OK...

Isn't it a little odd that suddenly Isbela has become a marksman with a rifle (or even has a rifle for that matter)? A last minute padding of her maleficent resume to justify a weighty anvil that was reserved for her? I still think her worst crime was the attempted poisoning of Siete and even that was provoked (remember that he bit her?). I also will admit that she should have shown her mother more respect.

I wonder if Bruno's mom (remember her?) will be invited to Bruno's and Manuela's wedding?

Speaking of Bruno, I thought his boink with Beatrice cured his stutter... guess it was just a remission. Maybe Manuela can achieve a permanent cure.

Carlos

cathyx, great recap!!
I had warned everyone that there was a meltin scene coming with Fernando and DN. That was it!!
Wasn't that scene amazing?? i still say they kept the cameeras rolling BECAUSE Jorge and the baby had made that incredible connection... and his last words... 'who did you get/inherit those cutesie eyes from?... not me, but i love you anyway!'

I LOVED LOVED Jorge and Mayrin's acting in that scene... btw, cathyx, Diego told Ana that Fernando had to leave, not that he had to go after Fernando. And when Ana asked where did Fernando go, Diego tells her he will tell her what is going on when she gets to the hospital.
And when Fernando arrived at ISa's he told her I know the whole truth!! not that he wanted to know it.
LOVED LOVED it when he told her in her face 'i made the worst mistake of my life marrying you! and i did that based on a damn lie!! you are despicable (despreciable!!)'
LOVED LOVED that Isa tried to blame the fact that the baby was sick on Ana and Fernando would not have it... 'DON"T YOU DARE TALK TO ME ABOUT ANA!!!... she is infintely a better woman than you are!... there is not even a point of comparison... she is wonderful and you are despicable!'

The Edith and Ximena convo i saw as: Edith telling Ximena that she won't lie and say she is over loving Nando but that she is no longer interested in getting him back. Her last words sealed it... 'you might not have stopped loving someone but you can't love someone when you are not certain they won't change their mind tomorrow' (she means she could not take the chance to getting back with Nando knowing that he could play the same card with her and go back to Ximena or someone else).

I agree with you cathyx, that Ana's face after she slapped Isa spoke volumes!! boy Ana's self-esteem has come up a long way from when Isa had hummiliated her and even stepped on her hand early on...
LOVED the Fernando and Isa argument...
but my fav moment by a landslide was that intimate moment between Fernando and DN.
I think the Ana/Fanny scene when Ana took that home pregnancy test was consistent with Ana's character... she is a bit emotional and motherhood was the final part of her 'dream come true', esp having a child of Fernando's...
Loved that potpourri of Diego scenes in the end...

btw, there were two time jumps, after Fernando asks Tomas to work on annulling the church marriage before Ana, Jennifer and Johnny fin out from Erika that David is indeed Aura's dad...
and then immediately after that 'several weeks later' when Ana and Fanny find out Ana's preggers.

I re-watched the whole confrontation between Fernando and Hissabella and Fernando did stop yelling once he picked up DN (almost)... Hissa did continue shouting so he asked her several times to stop yelling 'no grites!' and he was covering DN's ear with one hand while holding the other side of DN to his chest... (granted, Fernando was super angry so he was tryin his best not to be violent)
At the office Tomas got alarmed when Fernando showed him the DNA test, but Fernando said that they would NOT use it on his suit for the custody. Tomas did not understand and Fernando explained to him that Isa would not bring the paternity issue up since she would loose her apartment and stipend.
But Fernando wanted Tomas to start his church marriage annulment since the DNA test would give enough 'grounds'.

sorry, the first time jump was 'a few days' and the 2nd time jump was 'a few weeks' LOL

the whole Ana and Fanny scene was cutely funny in the dialogue...
Ana says 'i drank the water but it has not come down yet' (when she went in to take the preg test... you know, drinking water supposedly helps you pee)
and then after they both start jumping Ana says 'se me va a salir' (its going to come out) as if jumping like that would make her have a miscarriage... lol!
btw, Ana is wearing different shoes now... no more platforms or big wood heels... now it is elegant high heels...

Isabella is at a fork on the road... she could play things smarter... if it were not that her vendetta against allowing Ana and Fernando to be happy together overturns her survival needs... she could turn away (still enjoying the money Fernando would pass on to her monthly in exchange for her leaving DN with him and Ana) and go find another rich stupid guy and start over where she was when she started working for Fernando... although she might need to move to another country so that there is no chance that Fernando knows the next victim and tries to warn them...

That would be the smart thing for her to do, but she won't do it.

She doesn't deserve a second shot at this. She is becoming seriously unhinged and she's going down.

Are they trying to turn Edith into some kind of villain now? I don't like her playing mind games with Ximena; that's like kicking a puppy. And I thought that Fernando and Ana were very rude to Edith when she first came back. Maybe because they already consider Ximena as a daughter-in-law.

I think Bea Romero, the actress playing Edith, has a lot of potential and I hope to see her soon in other TNs, without the crazy hair and makeup. I guess the purple hair is right on trend though; just this week I saw a young girl with purple hair outside my Spanish classroom at the local college.

And Pablo Montero has brought so much life to this TN as Diego. It wouldn't be the same without him.

Isabruja might not have

** committed murder (well she did try, unsuccessfully to kill IkkyLizard, so I would count the attemp)

** tried to physically harm anyone (well she did have the intent to throw Ana down the stairs, so to me personally that would count)

** tried to knife anyone

** poisoned anyone (personally I'd count Siete in, even if he is an animal and not a human being) (OH but as Carlos would say, she did poison the judge during the Civil ceremony because she put something in his drink to make him nod off)

** kidnapped anyone (well she did kidnap DN, but he is her child so maybe that doesn't count),

** physically scarred anyone (like throwing acid in their face)

** been a thief and stolen anything (but, correct me if I'm wrong, didn't she go along with Yoyomana when they pretended that Ana stole the necklace ?).

** embezzled anything from La Costeña (but she went along with IkkyLizard to bring down La Costeña) and (with the help of 'computer nerd' she did hack La Costeña's server to access the company email)

** commited hit and run (well she did run over Sebastián with her cane with the intent to do bodily harm)

She was not successful at her evil attempts, but the intent to me personally DOES COUNT and therefore she does warrant an anvil (of some kind).

Awesome cathyx.

Fernando is indeed the man!

I agree what Edith was doing to Ximena was not funny. She was screwing with a girls head she knows is bi-polar. I wonder if her return is so her stepbrother gets his comeuppance, if he goes for her again, and not a rekindled romance with Nando.

I'm confused about Edith. Marta's interpretation said that she told Xime she loved Nando, but wouldn't pursue him becauce she couldn't trust him. That doesn't sound like a mind game to me. Did I miss something?

Edith was just plain mean to Ximena. I have news for Ms. Edith. Ximena has her issues well in hand, but where are you going to find a job with those tatoos? Sword swallowing, lion taming, juggling or trapeze work come to mind.

I rewatched the Edith/Ximena scene just to make sure i got the wording right..
'you might not have stopped loving someone but you can't love someone when you are not certain they really do love you'

Cathyx, you're not doing the finale on Friday?

I don't think Isabruja tried to bring down La Costena; that would have put her out of a job she needed. However, everything else counts.

I recap every other Friday so Jardinera will have the finale if the finale is next Friday.

Nanette, Edith's double talk was confusing the bejeezes out of me. One minute she was coming across like she was saying I can play the same game as you, and then she was saying she doesn't want Nando. The whole situation with Edith/Ximena/Nando has to end. It's gotten pathetic. Now, Edith and Ximena have switched roles. I hope Nando has some sense and move on from these two. I think, and hope, Fer and Ana reacted like that to Edith because they're getting sick of the entire situation and will finally be getting involved to put an end to this, like Fer should've in the beginning. His son is too young for all this stupid nonsense.

All I can say is that Jorge was absolutely fabulous. Abrazos y besos mucho!!! Move over FC.

So Edith might be hinting to Xime that Nando doesn't really love her but loves Edith instead (re: Marta's translation). I prefer Edith, but at this late stage in the game don't think there will be a switch. And to be fair to Xime, she really is pitching in alot and helping the family.

I thought Ana's and Fer's reaction to Edith was because of her new look.

I think Edith was playing games with Xime but her ultimate point was

1) She loves Nando, yes

2) she could snatch him back just like Ximena came and snatched Nando back

3) she doesn't want Nando back because she could never be sure if he really loved her

4) itherefore she can't really love Nando

Bonus: if Nando could be so in love with Edith then suddenly dump her for Ximena, then he could easily dump Ximena for Edith. I think this this root of why Ximena is so bothered by Edith's return.

Anon207, I think you nailed it. That makes perfect sense.

I agree. Anon207, that's my take too... but I am not sure Ximena sees it that clearly yet. I believe Edith was indeed honest with Ximena (she is honest with herself, she knows Nando dumped her the monute Ximena came back to town and he could do the same to XImena, although i don't think that IS her intent) and did send her home with some thinking homework. Is Ximena sure enough of Nando to stand by and let him handle Edith's presence? stay tuned.

Did anyone watch the 1st ep of 'el capitan camacho' last night on unimas(former Telefutura)? it was good, with Humberto Zurita and Leonardo Daniel as the villain (he played Daniela Castro's dad in the predec of Abismo, Canaveral de Pasiones)
historical, not so much naco... but there is some violence.
the young men are good actors.

No; still have a TV problem.

I will be catching up soon to one of the others. Just posted tonight's article on the timer so it will hit exactly at 9. Hope you all enjoy it.

Marta, thanks again for filling me in.

I don't think Ximena will be able to handle it. She's already cracking under the pressure. I don't think anything Nando says will convince her or reassure her. This could be the prelude for Nando to move on from both of these women. I hope so.

Bryan,
if you want to see how the Ana-Isa relationship really started to be a fully declared WAR, you gotta watch ep 8 (starts with Fanny catching Hissa and Fernando kissing in library, the backyard dinner (Hissa thinks the dress that Ana is wearing is her own so she comments that it 'looks fine but must be fake [look at Fanny's face there, priceless!], the flying crab, Ana spitting water all over Hissa, etc etc... the wonderful scene of the argument about 'what is important... LOVE!!!' between Ana and Fernando in her bedroom and ends with Ana hugging a half naked sudsy Fernando in his room whens he tried to appologize for the argument). Wonderful episode. I still have it in my dvdr. can't get myself to delete it... LOL
Definitely one of the key and most fun episodes of the novela IMO.

oh yeah, the same episode also has how Fanny and Leon met...

This comment has been removed by the author.

sorry, i meant 'when SHE tried to appologize for their argument'.

Sounds good Marta, I'll look for it. Thanks.

It's not Nando who needs to move on from Ximena & Edith, it's Ximena & Edith who need to move on from Nando. They don't need to move to South Korea like Lenin, but they do need to recognize that Nando can't love them like they want or need to be loved.

Edith seems to get it; Ximena needs to get it, too. IMO this relationship is not healthy for HER. She already went through most of her life wondering if her mother really loved her; she shouldn't go through the next phase of her life wondering if today is the day Nando's going to dump her for a shiny new object.

Nando likes the attention and his hormones are jumping. He's busy posting up pictures on Facebook and Twitter and collecting "likes". The attention of Edith & Ximena are just another part of his collection of likes.

He's 17 (almost 18) and he shouldn't be expected to tie himself down to one girl at that age.

I agree, Anon207. regardless of whether and what Nando's decision is, the girls also have the choice ... Edith has made hers... Ximena should too.
Neither of the girls should put Nando being with them as a CRITICAL component to going on with their lives... as you pointed, it is not healthy for Ximena to latch on to Nando as if he were her magic pill and it would leave her even worse emotionally if he ever found 'a shiny new object'.

UA: how can we not?! Looking forward to it and a little sad it's your last one.

What are the chances Osario will have Nando without a girlfriend at the end?

Anon, that would be ideal but it doesn't seem like these women will do that. I'm not entirely convinced that Edith isn't quietly plotting to try to break up Ximena and Nando. She gave too many mixed signals for me to be convinced she's completely moved on. At one point she did make reference to the fact that she can play the same game as Ximena before saying that she wasn't interested in Nando. The translation was coming fast so it was hard to keep up, but that's what I took out of it.

Flaco was asking me what TN they were preempting for the MCET final on Friday, but I'm only seeing one hour of MCET programming on Friday.

Bryan: Edith is my fav character. I don't want to see her go to the dark side.

i can see where some of you see that Edith is playing the game with Nando and Ximena, but it is not that much different from the position/game Ximena adopted when she first returned and it was Edith who was steady with Nando. Remember when she showed up even though Nando told her right away that he and Edith were steady, Ximena kept showing up at the door even uninvited (xmas time?)... if she did not want to break up Nando and Edith, why did she do that?
Nando is the one to blame for the girls doing this back and forth 'one-upping' each other. he should have not played with them by sending them to the waiting room for an indefinite time until he made up his mind between them. That only makes his decision that much harder to consider a 'final' / permanent answer.

Marta: all very true. I haven't liked some of the expressions on Edith's face since she's been back. Made me think she might try and break them up. I still would like her to rise above it. Like she told Xime, if Nando dumped Xi for her, how could she trust him not to dump her for Xi or someone else.

Nanette...
I haven't liked some of the expressions on Edith's face since she's been back
I will agree with that... i have noticed that too... but it still does not make Edith a liar and scheemer unless he does make the switch back to her or suggest it AND she takes him back... we'll see.

Flaco was asking me what was going on in MCET and I tried to tell him about the loose ends. Did I miss anything important?:

Laura still after Leon.
Jen/Johnny and the baby.
Nando/Xi/Edith.

Ana telling Fer about the pregnancy (which will probably be tonight).
Bruno/Manuela secret marriage.

And, of course, Isa's revenge plots.

Angel comes into Seb’s rooom and gives the go ahead to go home.

I got a kick out of how Ana and Fernando had been sleeping with her head on his lap and suddenly when Angel woke them up she swung her arm up and hit his face again... he just passively complained 'Ana!...'. Ana starts arguing with Angel to not startle her like this and then when Angel was like 'what?? are you ok?' she tells Fernando 'tell him!!' and Fernando tells Angel 'you gotta forgive my wife/mujer, she got an issue with spooks (sustos)'.
BTW,
Here are the actual time jumps...
'few days later...' before the scene:
Ana, Jen and Jonny get the DNA results. David is the father.

and right behind that 'few weeks later' before:
Ana takes the home pregnancy test... and she and Fanny do the happy dance

Also, thought it was funny when after waking up they went to kiss each other and backed away because of morning breath.

Jorge Salinas does anger very, very well. IMO, he's performance as Fernando has been shallow (the writers' fault, not his) except for the few times when he's been angry. His love for Ana, frankly, seems contrived to me. He also has been good with the baby and the kids in general, but anger is where he really shines. That's why I think his Rogelio in La Que Podria Amor is his masterpiece. He's got one huge chip on his shoulder throughout, but cured, of course, by his little miss sunshine protagonista. He needed her much more convincingly than he needs Ana. Just my two cents.

I think sparks have flown between Edith and Diego and I can see them together at the end. I don't think Edith is playing games; I think she is wise to see that Nando isn't worthy of her love. I hope her words lead X to see the same thing.

Isa may not deserve to die, but it would be the tidiest solution in terms of the custody (which could always be revisited) and visitation issues. If she went to jail, she might eventually get out. Killing her off is the only way that Fer and Ana get to keep DN and have Isa out of their lives forever. If she shoots Diego, her anvil gets a lot bigger.

Vicotria, belated thanks for the post the other day, but I am not sure why it was directed at me. I learned programming way back in the 70s, when computers were the size of small houses, and code has never frightened me. :) I have never had problems accessing the old recaps, and in fact have watched three complete tns and read all the old recaps. I chose not to watch DA mainly because it didn't appeal that much to me. I also didn't want to sign up for Delicious, just because I tend to avoid that sort of thing.

My advice to anyone who wants to read the old recaps is to simply follow our blogmom's instructions and use Internet Explorer for your browser. Easy peasy. :)

Carolina, I see Jorge's talent more complete than just doing angry (i do totally agree with you that his anger acting is great). But i would say his character in Que bonito amor was much more shallow than here...
Here his character was a bit in limbo-land towards the middle (married to Isa, then working on divorce while trying to get Ana back before Ana's mom was found)... here i have to say i am in love with Fernando... I would take both the good and the bad... he is not perfect... but manageable (as we have seen recently that Ana has been able to). Did the writers not do him justice? OF Course!! but he really did the best anyone could have with the role. and I can't see anyone else doing it better.

Forgettable trait of Fernando's:
react first, think later. But he has come a long way from his early 'black and white' way to see/evaluate everything/everyone.
Forgettable trait of Ana's:
the shouting... (THAT"S GOTTA GO)

Forgettable trait of Isa's:
the way she treats others, including her own MOM... AND the tantrums... if you have several degrees from Harvard, ACT LIKE IT!!

I really hope they don't pair up Edith and Diego. Edith is all of 20 and Diego must be in his 40s. I didn't like Jen and Nico, I won't want to see Edith with a much older man either.

Great point, Cathyx. But in view of Edith having been molested by an older stepbrother I think she's more likely to want someone younger.

Marta, I think the problem with JS and SN's scenes together is the juvenile love talk the writers gave them. They deserve the poetic stuff that was in Mariana de la Noche.

UA, I agree... sort of the odd lines Osorio likes...
here Lenin and Fanny have more 'mature' language exchanges and romance than at times Fernando and Ana had... very good point. and one of the things i would have changed here... instead of the childish stuff Ana kept on saying i would have had Fernando like Poetry and recite stuff to her and maybe she could borrow a book of his library and do the same eventually.
I saw that in Entre el Amor y el Odio (with Cesar Evora and Suaana Gonzalez) and it worked... even though like here, she had much less formal education than him.

Attempting to murder a dog is quite a crime. Just because society does not treat humans and animals as equals (even though we are all living beings) does not make her attempt any less evil. A dog nip does not warrant death. It is not as if Siete ripped her face off. Let's not forget she attempted to murder Enrique while he was in a coma in the hospital. She stole Ana's guitar (theft) and as far as I am concerned a police report should have been filed. She also abused Sebas (Assault).

Marta, I also see JS's talent as much more than just doing anger ... he's great in a million ways. But when he is shooting thunderbolts from those dark eyes, wow!

The writing is the problem in this TN, or at least one of the main ones. There has been a LOT of ridiculous dialog that NO ONE would EVER say in real life.

YIKES ! ! ! Hogabela. Hope she doesn't eat her sofa. Maybe it isn't leather.
