amores con trampa #45 Facundo puts his foot down... and brings back to the board a player that could end up being a nightmare to more than just Beto and Rocio

First of all, thank you Jarifa for such great detailed recaps! I confess I have not commented but I have watched pretty much all of it and I agree with all of you… what in the world is Facundo doing acting like that to Maria and being the hypocrite with Isa… but then someone must have found a magic herb because there are a lot of hypocrites in that neighborhood, aren’t there?

Ok, back to the story.
Refritos:
Isa with Frederick… talking about his significant other… which he knew over the internet (danger, will Robinson!!)  He says you are no one to talk… you are playing around with Facundo… let me know when you figure out how you are going to untangle that mess…
Perpetua calls Facundo at the office, and he walks out to get tangled in the reception area with Estefany.
Maria and the kids are getting into the taxi.  Isa is amazed that Maria is indeed leaving with the kids. Perpetua gets in the passenger seat of the taxi.
Here comes Facundo in his big black truck to stop the taxi and block its way. Maria yells at the taxi driver not to stop but to no avail. Facundo jumps on the taxi hood and windshield and starts yelling at Maria asking where she is taking MY kids!!
Francis and her sidekick shadow girls meet at school. Seems the shadowgirls suggest to Francis to enter the ‘queen of the university’ contest. Francis at first thinks it is too far below her to compete in that. But the girls convince her ‘just think when they crown you in front of everyone!’.
Facundo keeps yelling at Maria asking why she is taking the kids… Isa keeps telling herself ‘how can’t Facundo realize how much I love him and how much I need him !!!’
The taxi driver starts to pray out loud. Facundo yells at him to go pray somewhere else.
Maria says she was heading back to the country.  She does not want the kids to stay here.  Beto asks what about Yoya and me??  Maria confesses she doesn’t know what to do anymore.  Facundo acts offended that she was about to leave with the younger kids without even letting him know.  Maria whines that lately he treats her so bad, doesn’t even look at her… Facundo suggests they go inside to talk… there are too many gossipy birds around…
At university, Francis finds Yoya registering for the queen of the uni contest… Yoya asks Francis what SHE is doing there… is it perhaps she also plans to compete for the queen of the uni title??
Back in the Carmona house… Facundo asks Maria a favor… a tiny bitty favor… never again try to take my kids away… She asks the same of him.  They are whispering, something that Santee and Isa never do.   Maria says that she never thought Facundo would inspire fear in her… never.  He leaves quietly.
At the Velascos, Isabel is whining that Maria was about to leave…. Casi casi!! But no prize!  Santee says he can’t even recognize Isa anymore. He begs never to miss her appointments with her psychiatrist.  Isa says she can’t figure out why she wasted her life with him instead of choosing a real man… She leaves Santee confused/dislodged.
Facundo and Beto discuss… Beto is trying to get Facundo to think about why Maria wants to leave.  Facundo says we have this house, you and Yoya are in college, look at our clothes, our shoes… we would not have any of this if we had not left the country behind. Beto says yeah we have all that but we have never cared much about all those things…  Facundo insists  ‘then you would never have met that girl across the way… Beto has to admit that is true. Then he takes the opportunity to ask Facundo for official permission to date her.  Facundo says he has thought about it and considers Beto grown up enough to decide that for himself. Beto can’t fit into his own clothes and leaves jumping for joy. However, once he leaves Facundo says ‘sorry, my boy but you can’t be with that girl… ‘ and makes a call on his cell phone.
In the Carmona kitchen, Maria is talking to Perpetua, Perpetua reminds Maria that She was about to marry some other guy named Florencio but she fell head over heels for Facundo, who had plenty other girls in town crazy about him.  Maria admits it is not Facundo’s fault but that woman there (Isa).  Perpetua says then you have to control yourself, you have been yelling at everyone around here. And now everyone is yelling at everyone else. Then Perpetua and Maria end up laughing about the radio Maria used as the whack-a-mole machine the other night.  Jacinto comes in and says he agrees with granny. He wants mom and dad to stop fighting so much and does not want Mom to try to take him away again. Maria promises.
Beto goes to visit Rocio, takes her in his arms and spins her a bit.  Rocio is glad with the news Beto brought that they have Facundo’s ok to date. Now they only need the permission of her aunt and uncle. Rocio says that’s ok either way because all I want is to be with you. (they kiss).
At his home office, in the dark, Santee calls someone… he is decided. He will leave her (I guess Isa) for you..  will talk to you later. … me too…  sending you kisses… (he senses someone coming) ‘Licenciado Godines’.   Isa comes in, wants to inquire how his new company is going.  But before he can say anything Rocio comes in.  Rocio tells them she loved being at Isa’s store. Isa says Rocio turned out to be great at that.  Rocio announces to them that Facundo agreed for her and Beto to date.  Santee has a very harsh violent reaction ‘NO!!! NO!!!”  Rocio says she is not asking permission, she is grown up.  Santee yells at her to get away from that 4th rate rancher!!  He yells at Isa too to convince Rocio to do it!!  Isa is more like ‘it’s her business if she wants to hook up with the clueless rancher’.   Santee then accuses Isa of spoiling everything. Isa goes after Rocio…
Alejandra comes too see Rocio in her room.  Rocio says it went great for her at the store.  Alejandra seems to be happy about Felipe having a baby and her becoming an aunt. Rocio does tell her that it was not true, that Francis was not preggers.  Alejandra goes ‘oh well’… Rocio says can I tell you a secret? I love you!  (which brings Alejandra’s smile back to her face).
Again the rooster wakes up Isa.   Santee takes her covers away in one sweep.  He brought her the divorce papers… he just tells her to open and read the folder. She whines that she just got awakened by the rooster monster.  Santee tells her that paper is the first sensible thing he has done in a good while. She realizes it is a divorce suit… He says he is tired of her humiliating him, of her abuse, of her ‘descarada’ and evil she has become. She has come to be a nasty wife.  He says he signed already, all it needs is her signature. He does not want to be married to her even one more minute. She’s upset.
At dinner table at the Carmonas, Maria is outraged at Facundo letting Beto date Rocio. Facundo says why not? He is old enough and his hair is long enough (is Beto a Sampson now?)  Jacinto and Porfirio back up Facundo’s decision. Then we get words of light from Porfirio ‘the husband has to be faithful’ (easier said than done in this household, man!)  Maria keeps insisting she does not like the ‘crazy goat’ from next door very much.  Facundo whispers to her that he has already made a move to make the ‘Beto dating Rocio’ issue have a time limit.
Back to Velascos… Santee begs Isa to sign.  She won’t sign. She is the one who will decide when this marriage is over.  She rips the papers to shreds.  He says this is unbearable anymore. He never wanted to get to this. Now for her he is a useless idiot.  Isa says yes you are, but I don’t want divorce!! What did you think? Right now you have a failing company and you are pennyless!  Do you want to leave me out on the street? Do you want me to be a poor divorcee running after your heels asking/begging you for some food/financial support?
The door knocking is heard… (a ghost from the past for Beto, who opened the door himself!!) Hilda de las Mercedes??  (she helps herself in… carrying her suitcases… so this is the little trick up his sleeve that Facundo was bragging about that meant Beto and Rocio were on a timer…)
Beto protests… of course.  Facundo makes Beto carry her suitcases upstairs… she will spend a few days with us!... HilMare admires the pretty house… Facundo reminds her she is there only for a few days for what they agreed. No more! (oh boy, seems to me this is going to be a hard roach to push out of the house once Facundo let her in)
Back to Isa/Santee… she will keep whatever little he has left… He says we will see about that.   Isa asks him to take the silly papers away, she is not going to get divorced now!  He leaves irritated. She cries.
The whole Carmona family is in living room with HilMare.   Then they all take it on Margarito. Porfirio starts pranking everyone as if he wants to turn Margarito into carnitas for tacos… but he was just kiddin. Perpetua asks how long HilMare will stay. Facundo swears it’s only a few days.  Maria says you better… we don’t want any more trouble like HilMare used to make back in the country.  Beto takes off (to work) before he gets any more compromised with HilMare.
Maria wants to talk to Facundo in their bedroom. She knows he will get angry, but she does not agree with his move of bringing HilMare here.  He says just like you wanted me to be ok with you hinting the neighbor about my moves or when you wanted to take the kids back to the country? Like that?   Maria admits she made mistakes but pushing HilMare back to Beto… Facundo clears up that HilMare is here to be trouble for Rocio, not to try to push herself on Beto…  Facundo puts his foot down and says the decisions here will not be made anymore by the skirts but by the pants (more specifically  MY pants).
At Velascos… Rocio and Santee are about to head to work.  Felipe is glad to see her so excited about her job.  Rocio reminds Isa that in a few days it will be the anniversary of her mom’s death.  Isa thinks to herself that she is glad that Rocio still does not know the truth, when it comes out it will be a huge bomb.
At the Carmonas, Porfirio wants to know what’s up from HilMare, who is just trying to eat some watermelon… but Carmen comes by. Then he starts telling her some jokes about Pepito.  Perpetua comes by and starts questioning HilMare, saying she has always been a sneeky-peeks/pest.  Carmen suggests she can take HilMare with her to school. Perpetua and Maria beg her to do so.   (oh man, the college with Carmen, Francis, Beto and now HilMare is becoming the new hangout!)
At Velascos, Isa asks Rocio what is her interest in them observing the anniversary of her mom’s death… Rocio says just cause…. Isa says she will arrange with the priest that they will do a mass for her mom.
Just like I suspected, Francis is very attentive to the new arrival coming with Yoya to the school, especially she is calling attention since HilMare is dressed as a pure rancher.  All with button down shirt tied on the waist with bellybutton showing.
Hilmare tells Yoya don’t worry I will be ok entertaining myself… First victim she meets is Diego. She offers anything he wants… (yikes!).
At the office Esteban comes in to see Santee… Santee wants Esteban to ‘fix’ some balance some of the company report numbers for Facundo. Esteban says no problem.  Santee also needs his services as a lawyer. Santee tells him he asks Isa for the divorce.  Esteban surprised.  But he breathes again when Santee tells him she did not sign it.  Esteban gives Santee advice to negotiate the terms with her to get her to sign.  He does not expect Isa to sign that easy, he will have to give in a lot.  Santee tells Esteban not to take the opportunity to go after Isa now that Santee wants to divorce her.  Esteban reacts offended (again you question me?)… Santee not convinced yet.
Now it is Felipe’s turn to be introduced to Hilmare… Felipe invites Carmen to the party at the university. But she says will give you my answer later.  Felipe leaves. Hilmare is very surprised at how popular Carmen is.
Rocio calls Felipe and comments to him if he noticed Isa got nervous when she mentioned their mom.  Rocio suspects Isa is hiding something from them related to their mom.   Felipe did not get the same impression about Isa.  He hangs up. Rocio keeps wondering what is up…
Esteban runs and grabs Isa outside her house.   He is angry that she did not sign the divorce.  He can offer her the financial stability that she is afraid she is not getting anymore from Santee… HE wants her to think that this is their great opportunity.  Don’t you realize I love you?    He forces a kiss on her… (Maria sees this… as well as Isa’s slap to him … ) Esteban leaves but not before he tells Isa ‘I love you!’ (not sure if Maria heard this).
Previews: Facundo is crying… Maria asks him if he was crying and why.   Later Isa tells Facundo she now knows what she wants but… (he asks ‘but what?’) and then kisses him…

Bless you, Marta! Wow what an episode! Looking forward to reading your recap and reading comments.

We've got another country mouse in the city! Or maybe that should be minx!

Forgot something. Fac was scary. I really wish Maria would get out of that house.

Looking forward Marta.

Fac is dead to me.
Isa is dead to me.
And if Maria doesn't grow a spine soon and stop being the weak woman she's acting like, the whole show will be dead to me by next week.

Amen!

I'm now officially tired of Maria's tears.

I officially don't give a rip about Isa.

Fac is just a jerk. Not just to Maria, but to his whole family. What he did to Beto was low. And he's a hypocrite!

He's turned into a sanctimonious bully!

Wow, by the comments I am reading this is quite an epi. I have not seen it yet. Fac & Isa have been acting very selfishly. Is Isa supposed to be the protagonista? I hate the way she acts all innocent. She says that Santi made her seduce Fac, but in reality she did it because she didn't want to be poor. And Fac is a hippocrite. He had several encounters alone with Isa that he never told his wife about. Remember the coffee date and the time Isa was sun bathing. If Fac has feelings for Isa, then he should admit them. He has had numerous opportunities to do so because he has been asked. He wants to have his cake and eat it too.

Hasta pronto

I agree with everyone. I am only watching this flipping circus because it is on before The Addams Family...er lo Inmpossible or whatever...and too for the conversational donkey and piglet. The grownup humans can all be hit by a truck.

Carvivlie and Sara, I could not agree more...
I want to throw Facundo in a boiling oil fryer...
I want to throw Isa down the mouth of a volcano...
even Perpetua is being a jerk, even though she seems to be reading HilMare like a book.
Beto does not deserve this after he backed up his dad...
and yes, Maria needs to grow a spine and
Santee, Esteban and Estefy need to be locked up together... for years.
what a crazy story it has become...
Isa wants Facundo, Facundo loves Maria but is falling in lust for ISa... Santee seems to still love Isa but does not want to be humilliated and keeps Estefi on the side... Esteban loves Isa but is teaming up with Estefi and also with Santee at the same time... also is two-siding Facundo... crazy crazy spider web we have now... among the 'supposed' adults in the story

Facundo is a trip. He's thinking he needs to have a firmer macho hand to keep is family in line. If I'm reading the signs right, he's headed for a fall. That crack to Maria about letting the pants do the thinking instead of the skirt? Maybe foreshadowing that he's going to need a skirt's help. And Perpetua mentioned Maria's former prometido by name. That's a pretty sure sign this guy will turn up one day.

I'm giving Maria a break cause the poor thing is getting a guilt trip from all sides (Facundo, mom, and the kids).

I liked this episode cause they got back to the comedy. Hilda was a hoot and I'm sure Fac's dumb plan for her to break up Beto and Rocio will blow up in his face.

My mouth literally dropped open when I saw what Fac had done to Beto. Giving his blessing for B to date Rocio and then stabbing him in the back by bringing Country Vamp into the house to wreak it. Fac has turned into a major control freakin' d***:

Marta, thanks for the great recap. "Is Beto a Sampson now?" had me laughing as well as "HilMare" and the reference to the "whack a mole".

My favorites:

Finding out María was engaged before Facundo to Florencio.

Santiago making plans with "Licenciado Godínez" on the phone.

Santiago asking Isabel for the divorce.

Isabel telling Santiago that he always ruins everything just like he told her several episodes back.,

Esteban scurrying ( like the rat he is) over to the Velasco's to put in his bid on Isabel (so to speak).

Hilda shaking hands with Diego and he wiping his hand off afterwards down the front if his shirt.

My least favorites;

María saying she never thought she'd be afraid of Facundo.

Granny putting the responsibility for creating a happy home back on María by blaming her and not Facundo because she has been different not her usual self here in the city. Then Jacinto asking María not to fight with his dad. What about his dad not fighting with her? Everything is still skewing too pro Facundo for my taste.

Facundo sure is more unlikeable with each episode. I so agree with you all that María needs to grow a spine.

Jarifa

Marta, thank you for a delightful recap of a not so delightful episode. Like others, I loved the whack a mole reference. I think HilMare is hysterical. Excellent name. I am so glad you are recapping for us. I do miss hearing from you during the week, but I always look forward to spending the weekend with you on the patio.

Jarifa- I could copy your faves and not faves list. I was glad Diego wiped his hand after meeting HilMare because I was afraid they were going to fall instantly in love. I'm hoping HilMare gets Feli. And a fashion makeover.

Ditto about the comedy, Niecie. As low as Fac was to go behind Beto's back with HilMare, I'm glad she's around. I think it will be a nice comedic counter balance to the more dramatic and depressing stories.

Oh! I was also struck by Florencio. I had always assumed Fac was Maria's first and only suitor. I'm kind of glad he isn't. Bring on Florencio I say.

Nanette- My jaw dropped too! And I shouted out a not so nice word.

I agree about the grownups, Kirby. I like the animals and the kids way more than the adults.

AuntyAnn- I keep wondering the same thing about Isa. She seems way more antagonista to me.

Marta, thanks a bunch. My favorite line: oh boy, seems to me this is going to be a hard roach to push out of the house once Facundo let her in - lol.

Maria is right in that Facundo is turning into a power-besotted conniver like Santi. I was mostly laughing about it cause I see the signs of his comeuppance on the way, but then he got scary with Maria - not funny. I don't think he would ever get violent with Maria though, not as Santi has gotten close to it with Isa.

I can't figure out what Alejandra was thinking when she eavesdropped on Rocio and Isa talking about the mass. Why didn't Alej just join them? She seemed worried by something. Does she think her mom cares more for Rocio than for her?

So funny when the poor taxi driver was praying and Facundo yelled at him to go and pray somewhere else. Susanna was a typical kid when she got out of the taxi and asked "well, are we going on or are we staying?" Facundo says "don't mess in this." They do make these situations real-like.

I'm still at Maria's table, but I am put out by her saying that she's blaming Isa for messing with Fac. Maria, sorry but Facundo has been flirting and having his thing with Isa from Day 1 and he could shut Isa out cold if he wanted to but he's not doing it. I say bring on that old prometido because Fac is taking you for granted big time. Let him hook up with crazy Isa and let his suffering begin.

I just keep thinking about that trip Isa and Fac took to the nursery. He got ask romantic talking about peaches and cherries and then gave Isa those flowers. I really almost feel like he started it. Isa resisted the seduction scheme, but put Fac in the pool nekkid and add that flirtatious nursery trip and you've got trouble.

Thank you a nuevo por all the details Marta.

The other night when we saw Maria and troop get into the taxi that said "libre" prominently displayed on the window, I was sure the writers were giving us a sign that Maria would get out of Dodge and start her new life. But that didn't happen nor did the "free" taxi running over Facundo that I wished for happen either. Darn. And that's all before the horrendous HilMare maneuver that Facu pulled. I really like this show however. Real life situation (ok, well sort of) but no stabbings, shootings, poisonings, etc. Oh, but I guess someone getting run over isn't too pleasant either.

I love that we don't have murder and mayhem. And I know it's still early, but every episode just seems chock full of action and entertainment and a little mystery.

Thank you so much much for the awesome recap!

Name dropping an unseen character must mean he shows and I for one hope he's super hot!! Someone to make Fac super jealous and most importantly, remind Maria of the woman she used to be. The strong woman who everyone talks about needs to make an appearance in Maria.

I can't wait for Monday's episode!

Jarifa

We were talking about extensions this week, but this episode really allayed my fears. I honestly feel like they may be able to maintain the entertainment without dragging it down. I seem to recall that Vivi said that they had a lot of episodes on HQEDNS and they were still quite fun.

I know I'm looking forward to next week, too.

Maria was engaged before she fell in love with Fac at 14?!

Yikes! Continuity slip?

Thanks Marta for the great recap.

Fac thinks he can control HilMare? What an idiot!

Sara: of course her fallling in love at 14 doesn't mean her engagement to the other guy and marrige to Fac didn't happen way later, though I got the impression Maria was young when she married him.

Ha! No one can control HilMare! It's going to be so fun to watch. I am rubbing my hands in anticipation.

I feel like they threw the age 14 out there early to sort of explain the big age difference between Fac and Maria. Now they want to throw in an old flame. Either they forgot or thought we did. Lol

Thanks, Marta. And thanks to the whole patio of friends to make watching this telenovela even more fun.

Thanks Sara for those words. I had been a bit busy making sure my daughter did graduate from high school. We just got home from celebrating after her graduation ceremony! BIG milestone for me that my youngest who has partial PDS and NOS and Anxiety Disorder graduated at normal age from high school on time (just before she turns 18). So now i can breathe easier.
Anyway. I also lost my contract/job 6 weeks ago so i have been networking, volunteering and interviewing quite a bit, besides trying to start a new business idea... so been busy is to say the least...
but i am still here, still enjoying it although it is a bit hard to follow all the love triangles and circles around here...
I agree that the talking piglet and donkey are a hoot... and also the cute little cow pacing around.
I feel for Felipe and Rocio... the only family they have is Isa, Santee and Alejandra and out of those, the only one that is acting consistently and nicely is Alejandra. So i can feel a bit of pity/empathy for them.

sorry meant PDD not PDS... Pervasive developmental disorder... iow a mild version of autism.

Marta- congratulations to you and your daughter! What a happy event! I am just grinning from ear to ear right now! That is a wonderful achievement. I know you are one proud mama hen right now.

Sounds like you are super busy and I appreciate your recaps all the more.

I am rewatching the episode to cheer myself up. I should be FFing through Fac but I didn't and that scene where Maria says she is afraid of Fac just made me shiver. He didn't even seem contrite. He just grinned and chucked her chin as if to say "you should be afraid."

And may I just say that I don't think I've ever felt as attached and emotionally invested in any characters as much as I have with these.

Marta very good recap i am late to the party I've been very tired i bet you are a proud mama high school is a mile stone i wanted Maria to leave but no fac had to just come and fuen it i hope Maria finds her own path facu is being just like sani really he had to go behind beto back a call waco fac isn't going to be able to control her the way that waco was flirting with Diego he looked scard i hope waco listens to Carmen and stays away from Diego and feli o boy Rocio is going to be mad to see waco i wonder what actor is going to play florencio i hope he's cute esteban has no chance with isa facu just needs to stay out of beto business it's his life poor margarito they wanted to cook him it was just a joke though

Marta - Whoohoo! Congrats to your daughter and to you! What a proud day. You are a doll to fit in these delightful recaps for us amidst a very busy time.

Marta, thanks for sharing the good news about your daughter's graduation. Congratulations to your daughter and you! It is always great to hear from you when time allows. Good luck on your ventures!

Jarifa

It just occurred to me that we've got another party coming up (the University anniversary.) I wonder if they will keep up the joke and make this one a disaster, too.

Congratulations Marta! Such wonderful news about your daughter. And thank you for the wonderful recap.

Apropos of nothing - considering the action on La Sombra on Friday and the WE post, I have gained a new appreciation for the comedies. I may have to start choosing them over melodrama.

Pecks on the cheek and animated blushes are so much nicer.

Sara, that type of "action" is exactly why I have mainly watched telenovela "comedies" from the get go. To be perfectly honest I have found most of the dramas to be sordid at best and evidently they are getting more graphic in their portrayal of violence (Fri. Episode of La Sombra) as is mainline broadcast tv and cable. At the present time, this is the only novela I am watching and will most certainly be watching the next comedy.

Jarifa

I'm definitely on board for comedies from now on.

I'm also watching a lighter show on Azteca and I was glad to have a backlog this weekend. I watched those and it made me feel better.

I am looking forward to my evening visit with the Carmonas tonight.

I totally agree!

Jarifa

Another slightly off topic remark- the latest issue of TV y Novelas has a short interview with Big Ed. In it, he says that the chain he's wearing was given to him by his mother (just the chain) when he was younger. I love when actors incorporate some personal prop for their character to use.

I've been gradually catching up with past eps I missed. Just watched the one with The Great Hotel Caper. Carmen, good job!! She was such a hoot. Also, when Rocio wadded up the sales agreement and ate it! Of course, she could have just torn into little pieces.

And then ate it.

:)

That was a good episode! Do you remember the episode number? I think I want to go back and watch it on Hulu. This is a show that I actually like to go back and watch the episodes. They really are so much fun.

Marta: forgive me for being so late in thanking you for the excellent recap and congratulations on your daughter's graduation.

Sara: don't recall the ep #, but it was the 5/11 ep.

Thanks, Nanette.
