Amores con trampa #112 and #113 9/2/15 Wednesday and 9/3/15 Thursday

Amores con trampa Capítulo #112 9/2/15

We start with the bellowing Facundo wanting to talk to Perpétua. She is not too happy with him having left Porfirio behind in San Bartolo el Chico. He wants to know if María is still angry with him. María sure is not only because of what he did to Beto but also he offended her with his accusations about Florencio. Facundo wants Perpétua to put in a good word for him with María. Nope.He then does a Carmen imitation begging her with the "por fa, por fa" routine. Perpétua tells him María has every right to feel like she does and covers her ears.

At the same time next door Isabel is doing her own "poor favor" begging at her bedroom door where Santiago is locked inside just stewing. He won't let her in. She doesn't know what she did.

Facundo is outside the door of his bedroom that María has just opened. He wants to explain. She does not want to talk and closes the door in his face. He keeps shouting and pounding on the door. He ends up crying on the floor. All human beings make mistakes. Without her he is nobody, worth nothing. He asks her to at least throw him a crumb (here a carrot or an ear of corn). So she opens the door and throws him a carrot and a head of lettuce and calls him a burro. She is crying, too.

Jacinto and Beto are in their room and Jacinto has wet his bed again. Jacinto is afraid that his parents are going to get divorced. Beto tells him that even if they were to get a divorce it is neither his or Jacinto's fault. Jacinto tells Beto that he is his role model and wants him to be good and forgive Facundo so his mom will, too, and then they won't separate.

At the Velasco's the family minus Isabel is sitting around the table. Felipe is asking about Santiago's foot and Ale wants to know what is going on with her mother when Isabel comes in with some shocking news. She just talked to her mother Corina and Rocío never arrived in Italy. She was not on the list of passengers who actually boarded the plane. She is not answering her cellphone. She has disappeared.

Later, Conchita is quietly thinking about how sad and empty the Carmona house is and that Porfirio was left behind in San Bartolo el Chico. Her quiet moment of reflection is broken as Facundo is still bellowing looking for María in their room. Surprise for him: María is gone as well as all of her clothes. He goes to the living room to ask Conchita where everyone went. Before she can answer, Carmen comes in and gives Facundo a letter from María.

In San Bartolo el Chico, Humilde is packing up to get out of town as María with Margarito, Jacinto, Susana, Beto and Perpétua appear at her door. María explains they are coming to live with her because her marriage to Facundo is over.

Facundo is reading the letter and is so upset he just lets it drop and is quiet. Conchita goes to fix him some tea. He tells Carmen that his María has left him. Carmen tells him that there is an answer to everything. Facundo thinks that this time she is gone for good.

Humilde wants to know what is going on so Beto takes the kids and Margarito and Perpétua leaves so she can talk alone with María. Humilde tells her she can stay with her forever. María tells Humilde how the city changed Facundo, how her decision is made and she is not going back on it and to please not ask her any more questions.

Santiago has decided to go looking for Rocío so he is busy packing a piece of luggage as Isabel, Felipe and Ale look on. He wants his clean shirts and undershorts to pack. He can't find them. Isabel says they are in the dirty clothes hamper. He is aggravated that Pelancha is not doing her job. they are not in favor of him going anywhere because he has no idea where she could be. He doesn't care. He will go everywhere anywhere to find her. As they are helping him zip his luggage close it comes out that when Felipe and Carmen saw Rocío off at the airport they lost sight of her right before she went through security. Isabel concludes that it is possible she never went.

Carmen brings Facundo his tea and tells him that he should go to the country and talk to María. She starts drinking the tea that was for him. He says she took all of the kids. Carmen tells him she refused to go with María; her place is with her dad. Facundo starts to tell Carmen about meeting his mother (her grandmother Martina) in San Bartolo el Chico.

Humilde tells María and Perpétua that Facundo's mother Martina came back. María knew but not Perpétua. Facundo was going to get the whole family together to tell them. Beto comes in with the kids just after visiting the Amarripa cousins who are going to help move their animals and goods back from the capital. María tells the kids that their grandmother the mother of Facundo is in San Bartolo el Chico. Perpétua adds she is alive and kicking.

Santiago goes hopping with Isabel chasing over to the Carmona house. Conchita answers the door. They want to talk with Beto. Santiago tells her Rocío has disappeared. Conchita tells them that María left Facundo and went with the kids to the country. The Velasco's hop and chase back home. Isabel complains she can never be 100% happy. Finally María is gone but now so is Rocío! Santiago tells her she has no right to speak badly about that "angel" María.
According to her mother's instincts, Isabel believes that Rocío is going to appear at any moment. Santiago tells her she is cold blooded like a snake. She and Santiago just continue bickering.

Carmen is all sad on her bed. Conchita comes in to tell her that she has a visitor. It is Felipe. he wants to know what is going on. Her mom left and it is Rocío's fault because her dad and his mom bought the ticket. He tells her that something strange is going on because Rocío has disappeared. She is angry because she had thought he had come to console her and now she feels he was just there for info. Next time he needs to talk to Beto. She kicks him out. How could he come asking about his sister when her family is destroyed?

The Carmona kids are sitting at Humilde's house commiserating about being bored in the country when Facundo shows up with a bouquet of flowers, knocks and just walks in. the little kid are happy to see him. Beto wants to know why he is there. He is there to talk to María. He then lights into Beto about how it is all his fault and Rocío's that his mother is not talking to him. Susana's fists are up in defense of Beto. He bops the kids in the head with the flowers. You can see the actress playing Susana is having a hard time hiding her laughing. Perpétua has had enough and drags Facundo out. He keeps bellowing "mother in law" and is ignored.

Estefany calls out to Isabel. Isabel calls her a mummy and asks where she came from and answers herself: the streets of Guanajuato (Guanajuato is known for its very fine mummy collection). Finally Estefany tells Isabel that she is just jealous because Facundo is all alone and the road is wide open for her. Isabel tells her it would be nice if he had enough interest to get her name right (not Ester Mary). Isabel talks about her lost daughter and they get into it with Estefany saying she plays clean. Isabel doesn't let her get away with it citing her interest in Santiago and Facundo: married men: she is a witch.

Santiago is at Esteban's drinking and telling him that now more than never he needs someone to talk to. Esteban says he can always count on him. What happened to Rocío?? Santiago does not know. He sounds desperate. Isabel was probably right that they should wait. Where is he going to look anyway? He also tells Esteban that María left the city. She is such a special woman there is no way Facundo (that dog rider) will ever get over a loss like that. Esteban says just by listening to Santiago he sounds like he is in love with María. Any man even him Santiago could fall in love with María.

In San Bartolo el Chico, Porfirio and Martina are strolling arm in arm whispering sweet nothings as La Pantera wonders how it would affect María if something were to happen to that old couple.

Estefany and Isabel are still at it. Isabel tells her she knows more of what is going on in the Carmona house than Estefany. Estefany needs to forget about Facundo. The love of his life is María not Estefany nor herself Isabel.

Perpétua opens the door at Humilde's house to ask Facundo what he does not get about María not wanting to talk to him. He pushes by her to come in. All of the kids gang up on Facundo to push him back out of the house which they do with Jacinto yelling for him to get out because him mom does not want to talk to him. He goes bellowing "Negra" following her by looking in the windows as she goes from room to room closing the curtains to avoid him telling him she does not want to talk to him. He starts singing which she doesn't want to hear and then tells her he is going to sing until the end of his life. They all put their fingers in their ears. Suddenly it is quiet and they all--except María-- go outside to see where he has gone. He has slipped in somehow and locks them out so he can talk to María.

Pelancha the maid at the Velasco's is so happy she can watch her favorite shows on her cell phone over the Velasco's internet. There is a knock at the door and a bearded young man with a suitcase comes in. She tells him she is the executive assistant for Isabel not just some maid. It turns out he is Santiago's nephew Mauricio. He is something else telling Pelancha to take off her glasses to express different emotions as he frames her face with his hands as if it were a camera. He will make her an actress. Even though he looks like a chupacabras to her, Pelancha likes that Mauricio.

Facundo says he came to talk. He tries to give María the flowers. She does not want them. He wants her to grab her stuff and come home. She is not going. She is tired of giving him chances. She cannot take anymore. He reminds her they are married with four children that they have to raise and they are a family. He goes to touch her face and she backs away. She tells him he sure has not been thinking of the family with all of the crazy things he got into since they have been in the capital. What is clear to her is that the marriage didn't work out and it wasn't her fault. He tells her that he is her husband but is not her master. He finishes with: if you think something is yours set it free, if it never comes back it never was yours in the first place. He hopes she will reconsider. He leaves and she insists she is not moving from where she is. Her marriage has gone straight to hell. Perpétua and the kids come in and she hugs them.

Well, there it is. Always something somebody new. Now it is the nephew!

Woo hoo!!!!!!!!! Your first recap post! Exciting! Now let me go read. I fell asleep about the time this was starting, so I NEED this recap.

New character? Sure why not?

Yay! Congratulation, Jarifa. Excellent, as always.

The nephew is being played by Ricrado Margaleff, whom I love and is always great at comedy. Even though the appearance of this new character and that scene was out of left field, I still giggled. Sorry I will miss the next episodes while I'm out of town.

The scene with the kids trying to hold Fac back was funny too, and I think everyone in that scene was trying not to laugh. It looked like fun. Although the scene was a sad one.

Wonder what Martina will have to say about Humilde not only not leaving town, but also housing her nuera and nietos.

Ricardo Margaleff????????? YASSSS!!!

(But like Nanette, I am wondering where Diego is!)

Thank you! This was fabulous! And it sounds like a great episode. Thanks for pointing out things to look for (Like the flower bopping.) I did not know that about Guanajuato. Cool!

Well, I guess I need to start getting ready for work. I'd much rather hang out on the patio. I look forward to reading the comments today.

As always, your recap was perfect. You've always deserved your own space and I'm so glad you finally took the plunge! (((HUGS)))

Sara- I was in Guanajuato this spring. It's an amazing town, and the mummies and the story of them is fascinating. I highly recommend visiting.

The mummies of Guanajuato are interesting because they are from the nineteenth century and were "mummified" by the minerals in the soil where they were buried.

Jarifa, another superb recap. Your words and care put soothing salve on this sad episode with many great lines including "He then does a Carmen imitation begging her with the "por fa, por fa" routine".

This was a depressing episode and Santi’s crying for Rocio really touched my heart. It made me forget my considerable annoyance that he has had affairs with several women yet got indignant at the thought Isa did the same, based on snake oil salesmen Esteban’s words.

“Jacinto tells Beto that he is his role model and wants him to be good and forgive Facundo so his mom will, too, and then they won't separate” hurt my heart.

I had to look for moments of lightness. I did grin at the carrot and lettuce flying through the open door. A small bit of relief from the fighting. And I also noticed Susana had a hard time to keep a straight face as Fac “crowned” them with the flowers. I also liked that Margarito seemed to settle down comfortably in Perpetua’s arms and seemed to object to being put on the floor.

I believe Santi is infatuated with the idea of Maria because he views her as kind and caring (which she is) and just about perfect. I don’t believe he loves her – that is reserved (even after all that’s transpired) for Isa.

I expected a little (no a lot) more empathy from Carmen other than How could he come asking about his sister when her family is destroyed? I did suspect Rocio did not get on the plane and wonder if she is on a journey to find herself and gain some peace. I wish her well.

"He tells her that he is her husband but is not her master". Finally some sage words from Facundo, but is it too little too late?

Vivi, thanks for confirming the new character is played by Ricardo.

I miss Diego too but was so happy to have a Francis free episode.

It was a grand day that you decided to recap.

Diana

Jarifa – Hurrah, on your acceptance of the official recapper mantle! I always look forward to reading your recaps and “seeing” you on the front page is terrific. Fine recap. I appreciate the mummy info cause I didn't understand Isa's insult to Estefany.

It was sad seeing the kids shook up over their parent’s separation, but still I liked this episode. I always felt Maria let Fac off too easily for his past stuff, so I got a kick out of her shutting him out. They both were so cute going from window to window. And Doña Perpétua shutting Fac out too is icing on the cake. But what were the kids going to do with the bananas against their dad? Of course, I want to see Fac and Maria kiss and make up. África is gorgeous any day, but she looked particularly stunning last night.

Loved the way Fac dismissed Beto when he walked in. After Beto had his childish tantrum and assaulted Fac’s office, I lost sympathy for him. Beto, it’s not Fac’s fault that Rocio wanted to leave. Get a job, save your money, and go visit her in Italy, er, or around the corner somewhere in DF where she’s probably holed up. Jacinto is right. You should not let yourself be at the root of the reason your parents break up. Even if you don’t forgive your dad, lie and tell your mom that you do.

Maria throwing out a carrot and head of lettuce from the bedroom was a hoot.

Hmmm, so Carmen stayed behind with her pop cause her place is with him. I’m glad somebody stayed with Fac, but I’m thinking Carmen knows she can wheedle stuff out of him while her mom is away and she can’t miss out on modeling jobs.

Vivi, have a great trip.

You're right Niecie.

I couldn't live if I thought my actions were the last straw for my parents splitting. While Facundo has made huge missteps and mistakes in his marriage, they were trying to work things out and they didn't need this. Perhaps if they'd all sat and talked before Beto exploded, things would have been clear (provided everyone accepted Facundo's explanation). Beto's petulance is nothing short of unacceptable.

I also liked how Facundo pushed past Beto with that look on his face.

Diana

Niecie - your comment has me picturing Jarifa's kitty with a tiara, "mantle" and scepter.

Jarifa: Yay!!!!!! Glad to see your first recap post. Great one, as always.

I know the scenes where Fac was trying to get to Maria were supposed to be funny—and they were for the most part, especially Jacinto pushing Fac in the face--but I’m tired of his not respecting Maria’s wishes. I’m also tired of his shouting and blustering.

Fac needs to take “por fa” lessons from the master, Carmen. His was pretty weak.

The Santi foot thing kind of came out of left field. Do you think the actor hurt himself? So far, it hasn’t figure into the story, so I was wondering.

So, a bunch of you called it. Rocio did not get on the plane. She really wasn’t going for the right reasons—as someone said before.

Is Mauricio one of the guys from PEAM and one other one by the same producer? Was it DTQTQ?

I’m in the minority, I think, but my sympathy is with Beto—not to excuse his trashing his dad’s office--but Fac’s behavior about Beto’s and Rocio’s relationship, for the most part, has been dismissive.

Not liking Fac at all right now.

Not missing Frances. Missing Diego.

Nanette

Wonderful recap! I missed the episode, been watching US Open.

Looks like I really should see this one. Boy Esteban and Estefy are certainly having success with this new scheme.

Wonder what happened to Rocio? If she didn't get on the plane with whom is she staying? Diego? Who else in the city would take her in? Esteban? hmmm

I've been wondering the same thing, Carvivlie!

I can't imagine she's with Esteban. She isn't too fond of him.

Diego does seem a possibility.

Rocio always felt at home with Humilde. Maybe she's heading there! :)

This comment has been removed by the author.

If she's staying with Diego, Her Royal Highness won't like it.

Maybe she just got herself a hotel room in the city.

That's a great idea, Nanette! I would love to see her at Humilde's!

Maybe Beto has learned his lesson and will listen to her now--if she turns up there.

Nanette: A hotel is way too logical! It would be funny if she showed up at Humilde's with the whole family there.

Carvivlie: I agree. I just don't want to see her show up at Diego's. If she's in the city, I'd rather she be in a hotel--or maybe staying at the shop. Is it closed now that Maria is gone?

However, first choice--Humilde's!!

Actually, to be honest, I kind of expected her to show up there last night.

I thought of the shop, but at the time Rocío left she assumed Maria was still in town. Wouldn't she expect Maria to come to the shop?

And yeah... What is going on with the shop now that Maria and Rocío are gone?

Thanks, everybody for your kind words. This has been pure fun with you guys.

Sara, I love the image of my kitty cat with with a tiara, "mantle" and scepter. She sure could pull it off! That cat had attitude!

Vivi, I was wondering, too, how La Pantera is going to react to Humilde staying in town and now housing María and the kids. she may like it because it could be easier for her to exact her revenge. Have a good trip and enjoy!

Diana, Carmen's attitude with Felipe surprised me too. He will be lucky to be rid of her because evidently it is "all about Carmen".

Niecie, Beto with the two fisted banana stance was absolutely hilarious. I kept wondering, too, what was he planning on doing?

Carvivlie, guess we are still at that point where the villains are riding rough shod over the good guys. Can't wait til the payback begins.

Nanette, I am hoping that Rocío is not with Diego either. I would like to see her in a hotel somewhere having brought cash with her and an untraceable cell totally alone and chill so she can figure things out on her own. I also do not like the way Facundo has treated Beto with regards to a work at the office as well as his relationship with Rocío. Facundo has been cruel to him which just makes it easier for María to believe that he willingly bought the ticket to send Rocío away.

I wonder how long Rocío will be missing before she pops up somewhere. I was hoping she had gone to Italy and had spent some time there taking classes and finding her self and her niche.

Nanette, yes Facundo does need "por fa" lessons from daddy's little favorite Carmen. It was funny watching him trying to imitate her.

Sara: you're right. Rocio wouldn't know that Maria had left. I suppose she could be wandering around during the day and sleep at the shop when it's closed.

Surely she's not hanging with Hilda?????

Nah. No way.

I'm really starting to worry about her!

Maybe she went to confront Hilde and they talked and then became besties.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we are deal no with a kind of make it up as you go style of writing. Your idea could very well come true!

That should be "dealing with"

Less than an hour til show time!!! : )

The recap will be up later tonight per usual.

Amores con trampa Capítulo #113 9/3/15

Part 1

We pick up the story with Santiago and his nephew Mauricio talking in the Velasco living room. Santiago is surprised to see him. It seems that Mauricio is a (frustrated) film director. He wants to be like Cuarón and other famous directors. He wants to win an Oscar that he will dedicated to his uncle Santiago Velasco. He is happy to visit his uncle and family but the real reason he came is that he needs a producer ($$$$) for a movie he wants to make "Fire in Itzacalco". Santiago recognizes the plot as a the same movie he was trying to make three years ago. Yes, it is the same one. He just changed the title. Santiago just laughs.

In San Bartolo el Chico. Porfirio and Martina are out taking a walk and engaging in small talk about how they really had not changed since their younger days. Porfirio and his had boiled eggs of course are an example of this. La Pantera is skulking and spying on them trying to hear what she can.

Back with Santiago, he tells Mauricio he will produce the film if he changes the name to something like "Tenochtitlán" or "The Conquest" or "Montezuma" "Cuautémoc". That sounds fine with Mauricio. Santiago tells him not to tell Isabel. Mauricio wants to know where his aunt is. He screams for her saying that is how you have to treat women. Santiago is laughing. She comes out saying she was asleep and is happy and surprised to see Mauricio "the director". Santiago wants to know about his long hair and beard. It is just his "look." Mauricio decides he wants Isabel in his movie framing her face with his hands as if he had a camera. Santiago says she could be the "Malinche güera" the "fair Malinche" (Malinche was Cortez's Aztec interpreter, go between and mistress). Santiago just keeps on laughing. Isabel is not an actress but decides why not?

Back with Porfirio and Martina, she wants to know when she is going to get to meet that marvelous family of his that also should be hers. He is waiting for the right time but right now he is worried because Facundo is involved in a big mess. La Pantera is happy with what she is hearing. Something is going on between Facundo and María and she is going to find out what. Nobody can beat her when it comes to gossip.

Part 2

The Velascos are at the breakfast table where Mauricio is looking at everyone through a water glass as if it were a camera lens. Felipe tells him how good it is to see him. Pelancha still has not gotten used to such an ugly relative referring to Mauricio. He gave her nightmares all last night. Ale sticks up for Mauricio and tells Pelancha not to be so rude. Mauricio says no big deal. Pelancha would be perfect for a movie like one by Almodóvar. Isabel agrees something like "Tie Me Up!Tie Me Down!" . . . to the TV set. They all laugh. Mauricio does not k ow if he feels handsome or if he is just used to being ugly. Whichever It is he does not care. They all laugh some more. Mauricio is disappointed Rocío is not there. He wants to know about Felipe's girl friends. With his teddy bear look he must have many. Felipe looks uncomfortable but says things are going just fine for him as compared to some others. Mauricio catches that and says if that were intended for him, Felipe is right. He fell on his face as a kid and it is is by pure chance he can talk and walk at the same time. Isabel asks him to eat something. It is no big deal. He tells her she doesn't want to fix what is not broken. Anyway he is ugly . . .but tasty (Makes you wonder what his story is). They all laugh.

La Pantera finally comes up to Porfirio and Martina. Of course Porfirio has to flirt with La Panterototota very guapota. Martina is not pleased. She says he must be the famous don Porfirio Carmona. Porifrio introduces Martina as his wife, La Pantera then says he and Martina must be the parents of the rancher, empressario , etc. . Facundo Carmona.

At Humilde's house, Perpétua is wondering about the whole Martina thing as she is talking to María. María is wondering about it all, too. How is it that Martina went and they did not hear anything about her for so many years Perpétua asks. María says they are bound to run into her in the town.

Back with Porfirio, La Pantera spills the beans on Facundo buying the ranch from her for María and the family. She asks Porfirio not to say anything to Facundo.about her telling him. She did to k ow it was a secret. Porfirio will not tell Facundo. Porfirio and Martina leave.
La Pantera says to herself, let them dream about the ranch because they are never ever going to live there.

It is telenovela time at the Velasco house and Pelancha with her orange drink and Isabel with her popcorn are watching "Amor impossible". Isabel still cannot believe such a bad telenovela whose worn ou plot can be so much like her life. She tells her that María left Facundo and she should be jumping for joy but she can't because he is sad and she should be helping him get María and his family back. She feels responsible.

Part 3

At the Carmona house, Carmen is pressing Facundo with questions about what is going to happen to all of them if things don't get fixed between Facundo and María. He has no answers. María said she is not coming back. Facundo is going to work and tomorrow he will be going back to San Bartolommeo el Chico to help his dad out with all he is going through with his mother coming back, Carmen wants to stay with him and Porfirio because she is so angry with her mother. She also wants to meet her grandmother. Face does tell her to respect her mother. Conchita is worried because she does not want to be left behind all alone,

Isabel is meditating in her room when Mauricio comes in with his "photo framing hands" one more time. Isabel wants to know what he is doing. She has a lot of problems and that is why things are so tense with Santiago. She asks him to stop the "hand framing" thing and he finally does. He never knew things were that bad between her and Santiago.. She tells him about how Santiago has accused her of cheating on him with the neighbor. She has never cheated on him in all. Mauricio has no idea what she has had to put up with being married to Santiago. She just wants her family back. She asks that he not tell anybody what she has told him. He will tell nobody. She says she does not feel well and he holds her as she sobs. He promises he will keep her secret.

Facundois sitting alone at the table when Estefany comes (slithers) in and startles him. He asks her if she has not noticed that she is not welcome in his house. The time has come for her to get her stuff together and get out already.

At Humilde's house Beto is talking to María in her room. Beto is trying to cheer her up saying they are in the country and everything will take take care of itself. She is not so sure. She is worried about the kids who are angry with her. He tells her they are kids and will get used to it. He says it was worse that they had to witness her and Facundo fighting all day long. She has a favor to ask him. He says sure.

At the Velasco house , Santiago is limping around with his cast talking on the phone. He has just given the police Rocío's description, It will take time.it is as if the earth swallowed up Rocío. Felipe asks if he called Diego. He was one of the first and knew nothing. Ale made a web page. Isabel wants to talk to Santiago. He says they have nothing to talk about. She tells the kids to go. He doesn't want to talk to her. Isabel tells him he has no right to treat her as he does. She did nothing wrong. He brings up her buying the tickets for Rocío with Facundo. Ale gets angry. She dies it all. Santiago says he has proof. She is just as worried or more. about Rocío as any of them. She swears to Felipe that she had nothing to do with Rocío's trip. She ends up calling Santiago a liar and leaves the scene.

Jarifa,
Congratulations! Your first posted recap. I am thrilled that you finally get to do this because all your other recaps have been great. And thank you because I have not watched Wednesday or Thursday yet, so this will help out a lot.

Hasta Pronto!

Part 4

Estefany is still trying to put her snakey moves on Facundo as he repeatedly tells her to just take her stuff and leave. Her time is up. Conchita sees and hears it all. Estefany tells him she knows he is not the ignorant brute he is acting like right now; that he is only acting that way because.he must feel so lonely. Then she tells him that in spite of María being gone, he is not alone. Conchita thinks to herself: Perpétua was right when it came to Estefany. Estefanycontinues throwing herself at Facundo. Maybe he wants a glass of wine? Drinking with strangers is not such a good idea when you have problems is his reply.maybe they can go out. He is not buying what she is selling even though she is literally hanging on him. Estefany says to herself the only way she will ever rest is if she is sleeping with Facundo. Conch it has the phone in her hand.

Back at Humilde's house, María asks Beto to not let his father be alone. She knows he is coming back to town and she and Facindo aren't talking. She wants Beto to stay with him. How could she ask him this? She is worried about Facundo because he looked so sad. Beto agrees he looked like he was dead even though he was alive. She asks him to not let Facundo alone right now.. Susana comes in with the phone. It is an urgent call from Conchita. Conchita tells her Perpëtua was right about Estefany: She is throwing herself at Facundo right now.

The next thing we see is Facundo reminiscing about him and María in the bath tub with loads of bubbles. Then he is thinking about them swimming together. He misses her so much.. He cries.

María is telling her mother Perpétua about the phone call from Conchita and how her mother was right about Estefany. María is crying. She was the last to realize the truth about her "friend"/ "cousin"/"sister". Perpétua doesn't want to say she told her so, but she told her so.
Perpétua says she could lose her husband, the children their father because she María is a "maje" a "sucker", María asks her to quit yelling at her and maybe help her come up with a solution. Perpétua says she would make a barbecue pit out of Estefany but that is her. What is María going to do? Whatever it is Perpëtua tells her she needs to do it quickly since she took the first step in all of this when she left Facundo. María wonders if Facundo could be tempted. Perpétua tells her no man knows how to be alone. This is all very scary for María. Perpétua asks her if she is planning on letting Facundo go. María has no idea of what she is going to do but she does know she does not want to lose her Facundo.

Facundo is still crying at his house wishing María would come back so he could apologize to her for everything. He wants just one more chance to be happy like they used to be.

In her room, María takes off her wedding ring and places it in a box as a skulking Perpétua watches from the door. She and Facundo are done. María is still crying.

Humilde is eating when Perpétua comes in the kitchen and tells her she made some hot chocolate for her. Perpétua wants nothing of Humilde's. (The feud seems to be continuing) Perpëtua gets into Humilde's face about how her gossiping caused Martina and Porfirio to be apart all of these years. She also tells her there is no going back with Facundo for María. She took off her wedding ring and put it away.

Part 5

Perpëtua and Humilde end up arguing as usual.

Santiago is in the living room when Isabel comes in from the outside. One more time he accuses her of being unfaithful. She tells him she has no lover, never had one, never will. He does not believe her. She ends up telling him that she was on her way back from the police station but that wasn't anything new as far as she was concerned. She ends up doing everything anyway. Isabel tells him that he is always the "good" one and she is the always the "bad one". He just smirks.

At the breakfast table at Humilde's house, the bickering between Humilde and María simply continues. Petpętua gets the kids off to school. María says the kids won't even look at her. Perpétua says they will get over it . She then asks María why she took off her wedding ring. María just gets up and leaves.

María is at the market place looking around and is gifted some green jello by a vendor she knows. Little does she know La Pantera is watching her and thinking of her plan of revenge.

Another fun episode as we meander to the end.

Here's to:

Rocío for staying gone.

Felipe for standing up for himself after Mauricio brought up his girlfriends and teddy bear status. Mauricio sure deflated quickly.

María for standing firm for herself against Facundo in spite of the threat of Estefany..

Facundo for resisting snakey Estefany.

Green jello!

The Almodóvar joke.

The rekindling of Porfirio's and Martina's romance.

Isabel staying strong in the face of Santiago's accusations and being called a "güera Malinche".

"meander to the end" is a perfect description :-)

Missed last night's episode and I'm reading your recap now. Thanks for keeping me "up to pace" as we take our stroll on the path to the Fin. ;-)

I ask this having not seen the episode, but how can Perpetua give Humilde a hard time about gossiping and in the next breath tell Humilde that Maria took off her wedding ring? That's kind of gossiping...isn't it?

Yes, and why would she tell Humilde, who she clearly cannot stand and who is a bona fide card carrying gossip in her opinion, about María taking off her wedding band? Doesn't make sense to me either.

Thanks, Jarifa. Great recap. I love the historical background that you add. I had no idea the significance of Santi suggesting Isa play a Malinche güera in Mauricio's film. I agree with everything on your list -- except that green jello. Black cherry is the only jello for me.

I thought Martina might clobber Porfirio when he was showering La Pantera with compliments. Loved the closing credits highlighting Porfirio, especially him dancing.

Seems like Isa’s redemption is complete. She feels bad for Facundo that Maria is gone.

Laura Esquivel wrote a historical novel about Malinche. I should probably get around to reading it.

Jarifa, why do I love your recaps? "the real reason he came is that he needs a producer ($$$$) for a movie he wants to make" is but one of many. This was fantastic.

“Back with Porfirio and Martina, she wants to know when she is going to get to meet that marvelous family of his that also should be hers.” I admit I’m confused. So, she wants to meet the family but it’s Profirio who is holding her back?? Whatever the case, no one would keep me from seeing my grandchildren and daughter in law!

“She tells her that María left Facundo and she should be jumping for joy but she can't because he is sad and she should be helping him get María and his family back. She feels responsible”. Enjoying the redemption of Isa. Although I’m sure she’s ruing the fact she never succeeded in luring Facundo away, happy she is taking responsibility for her part in their troubles.

Loved Fac’s putdown of Estefy!

Your list was fantastic! Still making up my mind about Mauricio (trying not to let my judgment be affected because I so like the actor!)

Jarifa, thank you again!

Diana

Niecie, Malinche is an interesting character from Mexican history: on one hand she is the mother of the first "mestizo" (she had a son with Cortez) but on the other hand she is viewed as a traitor or worse.

You are right about Isabel. One down, how many more redemptions/anvils to go?

Btw, I am a big black cherry fan at the holidays with black cherries in it!!!!

Sara, that is another book on my never ending reading list. One of these days . . .

Apparently I just buy books. I never read them. :D

Diana, that Mauricio character struck me as very odd also. I do not quite know what to make of him either yet. At least new characters keep appearing even though we are nearing the end. That has kept my interest up.

Sara, I actually fought people in line to buy a biography SIX years ago and, I confess, didn't start reading it until last week. I did finish it this week, though.

Wahoo Jarifa !!! Thanks for the details that I never get.

I think someone mentioned that Santi has a lot of nerve accusing Isa of cheating .. Santi being the worst of cheaters with no regrets for his affairs. His nastiness is very aggressive considering the source of the accusations (Esteban). He's playing the bully quite well.

I don't get why the Pantera is even concerned about Porf and Martini (love that). Isn't it Pantera's own father who she suspects left and took up with Perpetua, not Martini?

Yup, indeed, some things are falling thru the cracks like others have said. Who's minding the store? Where's Diego? Where's Francis? (Who cares.) Where's Rocio, but that's a plot ploy not sloppy writing. Mauricio ??? QTH ???

Lola

Lola, sure are a lot of loose ends out there. La Pantera talked anout hurting Porfirio and Martina as a way of hurting María. That left me thinking???? Facundo did mention that he was calling the vet to take care of the animals while he is in San Bartolo el Chico when he was talking to Carmen and Conchita. 12 episodes to go? Should be good!

Normally I dislike loose ends and writing that feels disorganized, but for some reason I have been pretty forgiving with this show.

But I am not going to be happy if they don't wrap up and explain the mystery surrounding Isa, her sister and Rocio.

Lola, your comment regarding Santi "His nastiness is very aggressive" sums up exactly what I was thinking two nights ago. Thank you!

Jarifa, if Pantera hurts Porfirio, he is going to answer to me!! :)

Sara, I hope everything you mentioned is resolved because they have invested quite a bit of time (on more than one occasion) especially on Isa's sister and "the big secret". I won't be happy either if everything isn't revealed. I suspect though if there are many shots of Margarito in the final few days, all might be forgiven. :)
I'm such a ham for Margarito.

Yup, I went there.

Diana

Thanks, Jarifa. Loved the recap.

Why is everyone blaming Maria? She "took the first step"? No, she finally got fed up and took the LAST step.

I am confused about her not wanting to lose Fac, but still saying the marriage is over.

The previews look awesome. Cat fight!!!!

Seriously, Estefany must have the lowest self-esteem in the world to continually stalk a man who obviously wants nothing to do with her. Stef, if Fac was going to cheat on Maria under these circumstances, it would be with Isa--or any other woman in the world but you. Get a clue!

I'm a little worried about the end credits with the abuelito song. They've shown it the last few nights. Is it a "pre-memorial" for Porifirio? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Nanette

Hahaha! Diana! I'm glad you went there. I needed a laugh.

And I agree, if there are lots of animals in the Fin I will forgive them EVERYTHING!

Nanette-your excitement over the previews and the cat fight is wonderful! I am a big fan of cat fights. :-) I'm going to make sure to watch this episode as soon as I get home so I can watch tonight's episode "real time."

I don't think I've gushed over the patio lately....but I have had so much fun here!!!

I'm not sure that Lichita is doing all that great in the ratings, but I don't even care because most of you have said you plan to watch it and with this crowd I know that we'll have fun no matter what!

Nanette - They've done tribute end credits for other characters too. Santi, Fac, Isa, and Maria had them in the past, so I'm hoping Porfirio's isn't pre-memorial.

Sara: in real life I don't approve of cat fights, but don't mind when fictional characters do it. It's about time Estefany got her anvil. Plus, definitely shows Fac that Maria still cares for him. Hopefully, we can see a reconciliation tonight. We have plenty of other drama to take us to the gran finale.

Niecie I've see the other tributes, but this is the first time they've focused on one person for a few nights in a row-as far as I can remember. I only said that about Porfirio because of all the times he's made a point of saying he's going to be around for a long time. A sure sign in TN's that he's about to bite the dust.

I hope this doesn't end with a funeral! I sure can't see a boda right now!

Bomb

I much prefer fictional cat fights.

Better choreographed so less sloppy looking.:)

Nanette, I never saw the advances--everything was running about 2 min. late so VCR turned off- but am sure hoping Porfirio can ride off into the sunset with Martina. I love cat fights! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Jarifa: that's why I like my DVR. I always set my TNs for 5 minutes extra at the end, because the end times gets screwy--especially when a new one starts in the line up.

Good idea, Nanette, I need to reset the timer. Yesterday it seems they all ran late.

Lol "less sloppy."
