Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #34 Fri 10/9/15 (Mex 46) ¡Qué estupidez!

Ciao, Muchacha Patio Peeps!  I'm sorry.  I just can't get all exuberant and jubilant or the least bit detailed and verbose about what went down tonight.  Write this down in the annals of Caray Caray!  A short recap by Lila.  I can't even. . .

Pedro and Fiorella reconcile and share kisses and promises in the precarious, flowered row boat of love and decide to announce their betrothal at a family gathering Pedro has called.  Roxi finds out, tells Aitana who tells Eloisa.  The family is all gathered:  Sergio, Sonia, Osvaldo, Freddie, Roxi, Julieta and decrepit Queen Bee insists Aitana come as well.  First, Freddie usurps the meeting to announce Sonia's pregnancy.  Congrats and joy all around.  Osvaldo has to be prompted to hug Sonia after admitting he didn't know.  Through  clenched teeth he whispers to Sonia he will kill her if the baby isn't his.  Pedro and Fiorella had tentatively entered the room but retreat to just outside the living room at this announcement and Fiorella asks Pedro if he thinks it's really Osvaldo's baby.  Pedro says he doesn't know and is thrown totally off whatever game he thought he had.  Sergio insists Pedro congratulate and hug his cousin, Sonia, and he does with his brow all knit and his eyes vacant.  Aitana insists he tells them why he's gathered the family together.

Pedro stammers and stutters and can't get anything out so Eloisa announces that he called them there so he could announce that he is engaged to the most wonderful, beautiful, marvelous woman who is going to be his companion and partner for the rest of his life. . . .Aitana.  He stands there looking like he's been struck by lightening and Fiorella looks like she just saw her own corpse in a coffin.  Like some kind of hypnotized, dumb struck Barbie, she follows Granny's order to congratulate the happy couple.  Fiorella runs from the room, Pedro tries to follow but Granny orders him back:  "I found out what you were going to do and I decided to resolve the situation myself."  Granny orders Aitana to come over and Pedro lets her hug him!  What the flaming f**k!

Fiorella goes goes crying to her room, tells Gianna what happened and that she and Pedro "will never be able to be happy!"  No!  Not when you're brain dead, you won't!

What else happened?  Diana's mother invited herself to La Dolce Vita and brought Diana's bouncing baby boy.  Diana returned from a grueling day taking care of restaurant business to find Vitto holding the cute little cherub.  Vitto tells Diana they have to talk.  Thing about it is, Vitto did not look upset. As a matter of fact, he looked happy to me.

Alina, the Psychologist meets with Gael and when she exits, gives the brazen pig, Osvaldo, his card back and tells him his brother told her to stay away from him.  Okay.  You should have done that based on professional ethics and the general stench of swine that exudes from that philandering orifice, Assvaldo, but whatever.

Sergio puts moves on Julieta.  She likes it.

Gael asks Gianna to be his novia and she accepts!  Here is the lip action Diva asked for.  Aaaahhh, they're a cute couple and that dashing Gael never looks so happy as when he is with Gianna and they enjoyed countless kisses on a sun washed bench in the garden!  A scene worth going back for.

That's all I got.  I could slap the taste out of Pedro's mouth!  Y'all have at it.  Add what I didn't and show no mercy.  I'm out!

Whatever! Pedro is a wimp! Thanks for the recap!

You are welcome, Cynderella! Ditto, girl!

Wow! Lila, it sounds like you took one for the team. Gracias, amiga! I haven't watched yet, and it doesn't sound like I need to, except for the GaGi scenes. That's what I'll do.

I would like to say that I am surprised by Pedro wimping out in front of his whole family, but I'm not. All of the times he has allowed Eloisa, Aitana, and the rest of the family to verbally and physically entangle him into an imaginary relationship with Aitana have led to this. He'll probably put a ring on her finger and walk down the aisle with her in a daze, and be married before he even knows what happened.

Lila, I applaud your honesty! I must admit I feel as you do so you have my empathy and support.

While I am always drawn in by your long and lovely recaps, your short and sassy recap tonight was totally satisfying and perfectly appropriate.

My favorite was "the precarious, flowered row boat of love his brow all knit and his eyes vacant". Excellent! I hadn't noticed the boat had been christened "Fiorella". My, what a nice touch. I wonder if that occurred in the few minutes prior to Pedro asking Benito to bring Fiorella to him. It's amazing what money can do. And so quickly!

"You should have done that based on professional ethics and the general stench of swine that exudes from that philandering orifice, Assvaldo, but whatever" made me smile. Lila, I really wish you wouldn’t hold back and that you’d tell us how you really feel! ;) Great line.

Roxie is so insufferable, it's very easy to forget that she doesn't have the inappropriate speech and behavior market totally cornered. Freddie overstepped her bounds in astounding fashion tonight. How dare she make an announcement that wasn't hers to make? Insufferable.

From the moment Fiorella appeared in yet another cookie cutter flowered frock, I knew things would go awry.

Eloisa is morphing into more of a heinous beast daily. Not only doesn't she care what Pedro wants, she is willing to ruin his happiness to maintain her sense of propriety and social status. She knew what Pedro wanted yet wasted no time in destroying his dreams. Aitana looked like she wished the ground would swallow her whole. At least she had the grace to apologize to Pedro. Neither Aitana nor Fiorella seemed important enough for Eloisa to consider in any part of her machinations.

While I think Pedro IS missing part of his backbone, I think he truly was rocked by the pregnancy announcement and having a difficult time processing. I do feel that he would have handled things differently had that not occurred. He does feel he may be the father and his guilt seemed palpable especially under Fiorella's question and scrutiny.

I can't fathom while the majority of the Gael/Gi kissing scenes kept showing the back of Gi's head! The few scenes we could have really enjoyed tonight were shot with some of the strangest angles I've ever seen! Lila, I am looking forward to more scenes where we actually see their faces and get to savor their sweet kisses a bit more.

Lila, thank you for your giving us your always smart and savvy twist on what was a distasteful and unsatisfying episode from start to finish!

Diana

Grazie, Vivi! This was such a shocking display of wimpery, even the actor looked embarrassed! Absolutely unbelievable! Whiplash, ping pong, roller coaster, idiotic! Thank goodness for Gael and Gigi! I even enjoyed seeing Vitto holding that cutie pie little chunkster of Diana's! If I've saved you from watching Pedro's shameful ED of character, then I'm happy!

Mille grazie, Diana, carita mia! Roxi IS insufferable and the nerve of Freddie! Those two and Osvaldo's inappropriate, open panting and pawing Alina just made me so mad and then Pedro's collapsing like a house of cards! It's more than a girl can take, Diana! Thank you for your support!

Eloisa is morphing into more of a heinous beast daily.

And thank you for a more gracious and coherent analysis of Pedro's thunderstruck demeanor:

He does feel he may be the father and his guilt seemed palpable especially under Fiorella's question and scrutiny.

I DO need more Gael and Gigi and yes, those WERE weird angles on the kissing scenes!
Grazie, Diana, mille grazie! We're all going to need each other on the Patio this weekend!

LILA--
Oh man that was rough episode... Your brief recap summarized the "high" points of an episode that left us mostly feeling pretty low.

Bright spot of course was Gael-and-Gianna. Gael, Gael, where have you been all my life, honey? Wow he is a cutie!

Agree that Eloisa is starting to seem less like harmless, eccentric old lady and more like meddlesome manipulator. It was so unlike Pedro just to cave in; had no trouble in the early episodes ignoring her demand to show up at the ranch for the reading of the will. As I recall he left her cooling her heels for several days.

J in Oregon

J in O! I didn't want to believe he collapsed so easily and had the meeting HE called so effectively whisked from his control! When Granny greeted him as the esteemed CEO of El Corporativo, it felt like mockery. That meeting was all about who runs this: Granny!

Thank you for the recap. Like you all folks I am also tired of that grandma. The only great thing of that family reunion was Assvaldos reaction to the sonias pregnancy bomb that freddie explode. He was like he wanted to slap sonia or shut up everybody. Oh that scene where he tells sonia that he is gonna kill her if the baby is not his while he hugs her in front of his family was scary and oh his face when pedro was going to hug Sonia priceless. Oh there is too much tension between these three people.

Grazie, Marla! Marla, this little meeting made the dynamics in this family crystal clear: Feign and fake your real feelings, dig at and undermine other family members; smile in the face/stab in the back: Granny taught them all by example and such cruel reinforcement as she inflicted on Pedro last night.

Thanks for the reminder about Pedro whispering to Sonia he would kill her if the baby wasn't his. I added that. Yah, there was tension all right. At the end Pedro had the nerve to growl and glare at Granny. Well. One thing's for sure. We've got enough episode ahead for him to sprout and grow a pair!

Hi, Lila. Thank you for soldiering through this pile of dung, and doing it with your usual wit. Like you, I was just startled by how things unfolded last night.

Besides the usual trouble makers like Freddie and Roxy, I was stunned by Eloisa's actions! I have never seen or even heard of a grandmother who would dictate who her mature grandson would be allowed to sexually interact with. Granny needs to take a step back and consider what will happen to the family and the family business if Pedro chucks it all.

I don't remember Osvaldo being a horn dog. I thought he was just an ineffectual dumbass. When he told the cute shrink that no one passes up an opportunity to be with someone like him, I got heart burn, and almost hurled. I am beginning to trust this lady's judgment more and more.

The family gathering was like a beautiful walk in the park interrupted by wading through quicksand, a tornado, and an IED. Sheesh! Writers, could you be a little more explicit? Pedro's deer-in-the-headlights reaction was in character (he hid his relationship with Tania) but disappointing.

I don't know what to make of Vito's reaction to Diana's baby. (cute little guy) He seemed rather taken with the situation. Could he be entertaining the idea of having a son without ever having had to rise to the occasion?

Aitana continues to slide into negative territory for me. Despite having every opportunity to make herself attractive, she still looks and acts like someone that I would never have taken home to meet my parents.

Thanks again, Lila. I'm holding my breath until Monday.

David

Grazie, fratellino mia, David! Stunning about sums it up, with a generous dash of sickening and infuriating! Granny took the cake, didn't she? U

Thank you for this more accurate description of Osvaldo's nervy come on to Alina:

When he told the cute shrink that no one passes up an opportunity to be with someone like him, I got heart burn, and almost hurled.

The only good thing about that is now she really sees what an ass he is and sees a real live example of what Gael has had to put up with all these years!

Pedro's deer-in-the-headlights reaction was in character (he hid his relationship with Tania) but disappointing.

Okay, David, I'm going to end up quoting your whole post! Love that bit about Vitto and Aitana.

I knew y'all would get me. That was one hell of a hit for those of us trying to believe in Pedro, Fifi and their ability to fight. If he doesn't come back with something and just limps along flacidly into this "relationship" with Aitana, I just don't know. . .

Grazie di nuovo, David!

Wow Lila...don't blame you a bit for not wanting to dwell at length on the recap. Although I loved all your colorful expletives and asides.)

Last night was just insufferably stupid. If Pedro cannot develop a little backbone (yes, David put his finger on it...this is not the first time he's shown a lamentable lack of courage about his relationships)then he's not worthy of Fiorella. I don't blame her reaction, given her low status in the family and Pedro's horrifying, weak-kneed lily-livered performance (and the perceived possibility, however erroneous, that he might be the sperm-donor of Sonia's baby).

So yes, forget those two, enjoy Gael and Gianna (love her open smile and light-filled eyes)and even Vittorio's dandling Diana's baby on his knee. Far preferable to Pedro's emotional ED. Totally infuriating. I'm so done with this guy! Bring on somebody new for Fiorella! (just not Vittorio)

Thank you Lila! I only caught the last 5ish minutes and that was enough! I'm sure even your short recap was more than the episode deserved, because your summary is perfection and made me smile. The episode was absolute garbage and IT should be thanking YOU for making it entertaining.

Pedro needs to grow a spine and some avocados. And since I've already got a reservation in hell I might as well go ahead and say granny can drop dead. Metiche, controladora old biddy.

First Lila, my utmost sympathy having to sit thru all this show to give us slackers and cheats the gory details. Short and consise and snarky, the events of last night didn't deserve more than that perfect touch.

Ok, I am now convinced...Eloisa and Freddy must be mother and daughter. For the love of all, why they think it's ok to just give up secrets or decide the fate of people is beyond me. They both deserve every anvil they get. Line 'em up.

Pedro is one of the worst wimps in TN history. What was that? YOU LOVE THAT WOMAN and you watched her be humiliated and your promise broken. And you probably think you can go running to her again with the half-baked apologies. NOW I will support Fifi throwing the idiot to the curb. No excuse for standing there like a doofus.
Thankfully there was a hockey game on with the Columbus team because I needed to hit the remote.

Totally bleh on Sonia. Just can't care. And anything Vito is maddening, but the little one was a cutie. It's getting sad how many characters are giving me the "who cares" vibe now.

I vote they back-burner to secondary status the Pedro/Fifi story because I'm tired of the angst looks from Pedro and Fifi crying. Give me Gael and Gianna. The kiss camera was weirdness, but hey, my little heart was still happy to see it. Backing off with that little lip move, coming back again, and backing off again....sorry that was sweeter and more fun to see than all the main couples' issues last night.

Excuse me now, I need to take out my frustrations at the dart board.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay...glad you had a hockey game to turn to...I was worried about your cats and your TV screen last night! My little Kizzie kept me outwardly calm but inwardly I was cussing and fuming.

How do they expect us to be rooting for the main couple when this sort of nonsense is going on? I suppose if Carlos' innumerable Bad Girls can be redeemed, the writers will figure out a well to jack Pedro back up, but for now, he's number 1 on MY dart board.

Judy, your "Far preferable to Pedro's emotional ED," got me thinking. Fi's two romantic choices are 1) Vitto who probably has physical ED, and 2) Pedro who (as you noted) has emotional ED. This poor girl needs to drastically expand her pool of potential suitors.

Daisy, "Pedro is one of the worst wimps in TN history." That is saying a lot, but I would whole heartedly agree with you.

Had the terrorists and the rug rocket here all day yesterday, and our three older grandsons are coming in today for the weekend. ;)

David

Thanks, Lila, for enduring this hot mess to nprovide us with a recap...or what a recapper once coined "a recrap." Who was that ?Sylvia? Diva? Vivi, keeper of our clan's long-term memory cells , do you renember?

What is up with all these wimpy galans??? I am fed up and ready to abandon my addiction to telenovelas.

Gracias Lila, recap way better than the episode, ugh. This novela is losing me.

Pedro's weak character is not doing a thing for my image of Jose Ron.

Pasion y poder
I thought Danilo Carrera was FC's son, but is our Gael (Jose Pablo Minor).

Susanlynn- Gabriel Soto is playing a strong, unwavering, brave galan in Yo No Creo.. right now, and it's restored my hopes in galans.

Buongiorno e grazie a tutti! I'm expecting company soon so please know even if I don't name you all in bold I thank you and appreciate you!

JudyB! "Last night was just insufferably stupid." -- Amen!

Sara! Sorellina mia! "Pedro needs to grow a spine and some avocados. And since I've already got a reservation in hell I might as well go ahead and say granny can drop dead. Metiche, controladora old biddy." -- I'm right with you, Sara!

Daisynjay! Mille grazie, amica! "Pedro is one of the worst wimps in TN history." -- Throw some darts for me too, Daisy!

Susanlynn! Grazie, amica! -- Hot mess indeed, a pile of smoking, hot, mess!

Variopinta! Grazie and I don't blame you! I'm beginning to look even more forward to Pasion y Poder! Not jumping ship but WHY are they doing this to Pedro and Fifi?

Gracias, Lila! I watched the episode. Then I read the recap to make sure I watched what I watched. Then I went to sleep, and when I woke up...nope, I really watched what I watched and you really recapped it. Ugh!

"The precarious, flowered row boat of love..." No kidding, it looked like the boat was about to tip over and dump them both in the water!

"What the flaming f**k!" I may have exclaimed something similar. To me it was a new low for Eloisa. Not just disapproving of Fi, not just trying to force an engagement on Pedro, but doing it like this, in front of the entire family so that Fi's not only heartbroken, she's humiliated. Why not just tell Pedro "no" and fire Fi? I might have respected that, but this is...so junior high. With rich people.

"Thing about it is, Vitto did not look upset. As a matter of fact, he looked happy to me." I agree! He looked like the little tyke totally won him over.

"Here is the lip action Diva asked for." OMG yes! Please! Just a few minutes of that every episode will keep me going. Those two are so cute! And his little "I can't move" schtick...adorbs!

Lila, loved your recap. The epy kinda sucked.
Im not going to abbreviate, Im gonna say it
Out, WHAT THE HELL!!!! Is up with that old
Hatefull bitty. And why is he letting her tell him When, with who and how to live his life? He's
A grown ass man with supposedly a mind of
His own. I don't care if she's the matriarch of the family. this is 2015, not 1715. The hell with What society says, it's not going to be It chain tuyed-married to that heffa, and the fact that Shes friends with airhead roxi should set off Bells n whistles. He looked like he was going to fight the old goatett. He should at least act like hes going to "fight for their love", his Words. O fifi, she turned tail and ran away, as usual. Since they are going to "fight for their Love", when, O when the hell are they gping to Start? If they don't, they'll wind up like his all So messed up cousins in their screwed up Marriages. Which leads me to believe that the marriage of old goatett and maximo's wasn't all that good either. And she likes like That. One screwed up generation to the next.
Somebody needs to bring that foolishness to
A halt. Somebody with guts, not afraid to get
In that old bitty's face, and tell her to back the
Hell off. PEDRO!!!!!

Lila, no apologies needed, you added just enough sugar to take the sour taste out of my mouth.

"What the flaming f**k!"

I'm mad that Pedro was mad at grandma. He benefits from nepotism at work, has a driver, cook, maid, full closet and a corner bedroom, boy knows what side his bread is buttered, don't bite the teat that feeds you.

Pedro - Hi, I'm Petey and I'm 5

Fio - hmmmm, Vitto's grandma ain't around

Freddie - wearing my Pharrell Williams hat tomorrow

Gael - wasn't intuition but tuition

Osvaldo - see, if I hold my arms out like this, makes me look bigger

Eloisa - almost deaf and blind girl "sure plays mean pinball"

Alina - but, I can accept a friend request on facebook

Aitana - I shopped it all over Europe and had no takers, granny's my last shot

It's not going to be society chain tied married to that heffa. is what I meant to say the spelling is off.

My furballs thank you for the concern Judy. I think with this TN, I sit with a stupefied look on my face, give out a choking "what???" and then keep either my Kindle handy to start a game or hit the remote. I'm still in, I like TN's at this hour, and I so want to see how Gia and Gael progress. If that is done well, that WILL get me invested. If anything may make the cats run from the room is when the writers start messing with those two, which we know they will, and I'll be hurling my disgust at the TV. However,I don't think they will pull a Sombra and bolt from the room the minute the theme music comes on with this one.

I haven't been watching the TN with Soto, but anyone else notice in a lot of TN's lately, we are really getting crappy galans who can't makes decisions, get easily fooled, can't seem to see the nose on their own face, and are not what one would say is deserving of the lady in question? It's taking the trite old plot lines and really taking it to the extreme of ineffectual galans.

Add to that, the juicy story, acting and character seems to now really be centered in the secondary galan? It's like these guys maybe aren't "star" galan material by some idiot TN standard (the body-builders or movie star looks kind) but they sure rope most of us in with tremendous caring and character, the kind of handsome that most of us have no trouble falling for, and usually an approach to a secondary female that makes us melt. And sometimes, they are flat out better actors.

You wish some brilliant producer would get the idea that hey, we are all in with these type actors and actresses. Ditch the same old same old leads and lets put a show together with a whole bunch of those performers who NEVER get the lead. Might pay off?

Daisynjay

OMG tofie...our comments posted same time and didn't see your list. I LOVE YOUR LISTS!!! But my goodness, you were on fire!!

Favorites:

Pedro - Hi, I'm Petey and I'm 5
Aitana - I shopped it all over Europe and had no takers, granny's my last shot

And I swear, Freddie walks in with a Pharrell Williams style hat, I'll lose it. Brilliant.

Daisynjay

Lol, tofie, "shopped it all over Europe" indeed. Eloisa told her to show up looking like she was dressing for the king of Spain? Um...am I meant to interpret her resulting "look" as a total misinterpretation by Aitana or by the show's stylist?

The only times I've felt like her overall "look" made any visual sense was when they were on retreat, and when she had on the jeans and the quilted vest during the whole stupid engagement ring scene. What is the problem? The script is providing plenty of cues, but they're being completely ignored. It's like someone went to the wrong costume rack for Aitana's outfits. And the hair...a spoiled rich girl's hair should NOT look like my hair (when it was long anyway) at the end of a long day, after a five year old thought it would be funny to pull out my hair elastic and play with it!

And maybe she and wimpy Pedro really do belong together. She has zero game. She's getting this "engagement" because she was ready to give up and granny said "Oh, don't worry, I'll put him on a silver platter for you." Is she going to depend on Eloisa to coerce Pedro into taking every single one of the next steps too? What a total lack of self-respect, that she's going to settle for a guy who's grandma made him marry her!

I was so happy to see your list, tofie. I have missed those lists. Your list, your list, is on my list as the best thing in life. Mock away, girl. I need it. Where have all the galans gone?

Vivi,,,the 10 oclock show is too late for me because I rise at 5.15 , and I am not a fan of Gabriel Soto. Why are the writers not giving us heroes? Are heroes out of fashion now? I'm holding out for a hero til the end of the day. He's got to be tough and he's got to brave and he's got to fresh from the fight !

Grazie tanto, Lila, for enduring this episode, which was #47 and complete.

What you omitted: The truly distasteful diatribe Rox poured on Benito about how servants don't have feelings but exist at the beck and call of their masters. The more she does this the more I look forward to the day when her true parentage is revealed.

When Diana's mother (whose name I forgot) turned up with the baby at La Dolce Vita I started wondering if she's going to out her. At any rate, Diana's mother would be a far more appropriate wife for Vittorio than either Fiorella or Diana.

As for Pedro being the wimpiest galan in Novelalandia, my nominee for that always was Lucas of El Clon. But Pedro is starting to get down there with him. If Pedro had the cojones of a true galan he would be updating his resume and interviewing for executive positions at every competing company... just in case. Then he would tell everyone there to take their money and shove it so he isn't led on their leash anymore. Then he could elope with Fiorella and be happy.

As soon as Fiorella took off the engagement ring from Pedro I had a portent of doom. However, I didn't foresee that Eloisa would have the gall to do what she did. I can see her enforcing this big time if she finds out that there is a paternity issue about Sonia's baby, which is a "secret" that won't keep for long now that Federica knows there is a question mark on the situation.

If Eloisa really thinks she's a character out of Edith Wharton or Dominick Dunne, when that secret blows up she will tell Assvaldo to shut up about any paternity issue and pretend the baby is his for the sake of family image. Or be disinherited.

Ciao, Patio Peeps! Fun visit getting acquainted with a family member from my (dear departed) Dad's side -- back to see what y'all talkin' 'bout!

Oh, yeah, THAT. That stupid, depressing, shameful episode!

Grazie, Diva! Sorellina mia! "Why not just tell Pedro "no" and fire Fi? I might have respected that, but this is...so junior high." -- A new low for Eloisa, indeed! She SO needs to be up on the dartboard, cane and all!

""I can't move" schtick...adorbs!" -- Yah! Gigi and Gael 4Ever!

Nina! Grazie, Nina!

Somebody needs to bring that foolishness to
A halt. Somebody with guts, not afraid to get
In that old bitty's face, and tell her to back the
Hell off. PEDRO!!!!!

Tell it like it is, girl! We're letting it all hang out on the Patio today! I'm with you: When does the fighting start! If that little get together wasn't a boxing ring, I don't know what is!

Tofiiiiiieeee! Tofie's in the HOUSE with a LIST, y'all! Yaaaay! Mille grazie, amica mia!

Eloisa - almost deaf and blind girl "sure plays mean pinball"

Pedro - Hi, I'm Petey and I'm 5

Aitana - I shopped it all over Europe and had no takers, granny's my last shot

I needed that, ragazza! Grazie!

Still going through comments. Back in a flash!

Gabriel Soto or not the character Max on Yo No is a galan and totally agree with Vivi. He's been in one love scene, that it, but you believe he would die for Maria Deloras. But then that show is like no other TN I've seen.

Oh, thanks guys, I had a little time this morning for a list but this show kinda brings it out, everybody's so stupid.

If there is a race to galan bottom my vote goes to Pablo in TSTSNBN. The girl was from the dump, dirty and starving and maybe he brought her one sammich and when he knocked her up with twins he refused to believe they were his and ran, got in his car and sped away while the ragamuffin chased after lugging them babies. Hot!

That was a cad, not a wimp. I'm not sure which is worse, though.

. . anyone else notice in a lot of TN's lately, we are really getting crappy galans who can't makes decisions, get easily fooled, can't seem to see the nose on their own face, and are not what one would say is deserving of the lady in question? It's taking the trite old plot lines and really taking it to the extreme of ineffectual galans.

Daisy, I'm probably late to the discussion but I must say I agree. Now, I don't have a whole lot of TN under my belt but let me see. . .Cris in Sombra was neither brilliant nor particularly strong. Pablo in LG, well, his nickname was "Pablum." Octavio in CI, a dunce. Hmmm, maybe I just pick really bad novelas. :(

Yah. Maybe some novelas with "second string" galans is just the ticket!

What a total lack of self-respect, that she's going to settle for a guy who's grandma made him marry her!

Aitana has no idea what "self respect" is, just like she has no idea what a comb, brush, or scissors are.

How does Granny know Aitana wasn't zoned out on drugs in Europe while she was out "finding herself." How does she know she's not a walking petri dish of STDs?

Stupid old and stupid young heffa!

Is she going to depend on Eloisa to coerce Pedro into taking every single one of the next steps too?

I told y'all! That's why I was so grossed out and pissed during the "intimate fibers" talk! Eloisa thinks she's the Mexican Dr. Ruth!

I'm sorry, but hearing a creaking old lady talk about sex would dry me up so fast! Sorry to be blunt but, uh, no. Just no!

Urban! Mille grazie, comadre! Thank you for filling in that demeaning rant of Roxi! And who will be there to comfort the wench when she caves from the "awful" revelation that she was born of a slave, I mean servant girl!?

ITA about Diana's mom being a more fitting life for Vitto!

Urban, I like your alternate scenario for Pedro! Why couldn't they tell it like that and let the drama be everybody trying to tear them apart and Pedro wrestling at the helm of his new business in rivalry with whoever the new person is that heads El Corporativo?

I'm anxious to see if Maury Povich will be brought in to detangle the question of the newest Angeles spawn, or WILL Granny tell Assboy to suck it up!

The actual Dr. Ruth = awesome!

Eloisa is no Dr. Ruth.

In fact, I would pay to watch them go toe-to-toe. My money would be on Dr. Ruth. Even a verbal takedown would be epic.

You said it, Diva! I was kinda admiring Eloisa at first and feeling for her having to put up with the vultures. Strong women run in my family but Granny is overstepping and ignoring all kinds of boundaries and Pedro and gang all continue to let her do so. What will be the thing that makes Pedro stand up to Granny? What will make him grow a spine!? CAN he grow a spine while she's alive?

Talk about flashbacks! We asked the same questions about Cris on Sombra and apparently Ultimas is the only thing that brings personal growth. Let's hope that's not the case here.

Oh no! What other indignities can he, and we, suffer?

You know what? Fifi's crying to Gigi that "we will never be able to be happy" and other things she's said lead me to believe she doesn't see this as a lack of spine or love on Pedro's part. I get the feeling she sees this as "cruel fate" dealing Pedro, and them a dirty hand. On her side of this so-called love equation, fate has similarly screwed her by deciding that she must marry Pedro. This is how Pedro will escape being definitively kicked to the curb: In Fifi's eyes, it's not his fault. For her, the fault is not in themselves, but in the stars!

Pedro isn't the only one that needs to grow a spine Fiorella needs to grow one too. Didn't they just get through pledging their love to eat each other and how they are going to "fight for our love", and the first third bump in the road happens they both fizzle out. I could grab that old woman and throw her in a Rest home. that's all I could think of at the moment since I'm working at a rest home.
they give all of them a laxative every two weeks so they don't stop up. that's what Eloisa needs a good laxative, something to keep her busy out of other peoples business.

Lila - Thank you for the recrap*. You really took one for the Patio~!

I have not watched this episode yet and am not sure if I will. This telenovela is trying my patience and may fall off my radar if PyP or one of the upcoming Telemundo 'novelas is more to my liking.

I saw on the Telenovela-World forum that Salvador Meh-ía announces that telenovelas will not be more than six months long. Well, especially his own(!) should not last more than six months, but I think it is a good idea in general, no matter what. At least we would know relief is in sight if a telenovela is a turkey.
(copy & paste)--> http://www.radioformula.com.mx/notas.asp?Idn=538519&idFC=2015&sURL=

*IIRC, the term "recrap" may have first surfaced during FELS.

Tofie..I think that the galan from CI and the one from TSTSNBN (played by the sane actor...hmmmm) are tied for the dumbest, most ineffectual galan. I only stayed with CI to read Carlos's screencaps, and I bailed from the other .I especially hated the cardboard hillsleding..just so dumb .

Is anyone going to watch the new series on BBC tonight.." The Last Kingdom?" It's a historical fiction about the birth of a unified England in the 9th century AD.

Nina, girl, you killin' me!

Doris! Mille grazie! I can't say I blame you, Doris! CI, LG, Sombra, it's like, who's idea was it to frustrate the crap out of the viewer? Is this formula working so well for them or is this just the outcome of the longer than six month novela? They need to do something. Frustration and disgust is not how I like to emotionally season my evenings, thank you very much!

Thanks for the recap! The constant back and forth of Pedro and Fiorella is so frustrating. If this is only episode 46 of 176, I don't know if I have the patience for this TN.

But then the Gael and Gianna scenes are so darn cute that I can't stop watching. Man, are they adorable or what!

I think they're definitely kidding themselves about what we do or don't like. Mejia wants to blame it on the length of the shows, but I'll gladly watch a long show if I find it entertaining. I agree, doris, at least if they give us a dud, we know how soon the horror will be over!

I'm just not feeling very worked up about the editing on this one. It drags quite a bit as it is. I could do with even more editing, like...no more Fed and Dante scenes, nothing with Roxi screeching, no Diana hitting on Vito.

Susanlynn, wish I could watch the show. I don't get the BBC America with my cable package plus. Honestly, by the time you keep trying to add stations you want, you have to sign away the paycheck. I wait until the shows hit Netflix, Hulu Plus or Prime which takes maybe 6 months to a year. Tell it how it is...I was a European History major in college, with my love being English History. I will watch if you give it the thumbs up!

Doris, praise be I wish they would cap these shows to no more than 6 months. Heck, I could think of some thru the years that would have been best stopping at about 4 months. Seems whenever they try go for too many episodes, wayyyyy too much filler and flip flopping happens. And heaven forbid when they make a decision to expand past the original number. That always spells disaster.

Daisynjay

Hey J! J, I feel you on both counts, the frustration with the back and forth between Fifi and Pedro and the attraction to Gigi and Gael! We can help you through it, J!

tofie, I laughed out loud at "Freddie - wearing my Pharrell Williams hat tomorrow"...

Lila, "Aitana has no idea what "self respect" is, just like she has no idea what a comb, brush, or scissors are" (still smiling).

Hey Doris, I'm fairly certain you're spot on in that "recrap" did generate during FELS. I still miss those swimming scenes though, don't you? :)

Diana

Lila, pobrecita amiga, CI has taken over as # 1 worlds worst novela with Gata, (luckily I wasn't suckered into that one) very close. I always thought Fuego en la sangre had that distinct position but next to those, it deserves a premiio.

Right now, La vecina & Bajo el mismo cielo are the best showing. Can't wait for my telenovio FC in PyP.!!!

TSTSNBN? plot sounds a lot like CI & La Gata.

Thank you all folks for your funny comments, you made me laugh too much. I am enjoying this blog.

Lila it was Assvaldo who threatened Sonia in killing her if the baby was not his, not Pedro. Oh knowing Assvaldo, he surely would do the DNA test on her to know if he is the father. By the way I loved your description of the Angeles family.

Anonymous- Oh that scene with Osvaldo and Alina was very funny. Oh he seemed so haughty and ironic telling her that nobody in this world would let pass an opportunity like him when he knows perfectly that it is his cousin Pedro who every woman want to be with, even his wife Sonia.

Pharrell Williams hat , ja, ja, ha, ha, lol, etc

Hey, Variopinta! TSTSNBN IS La Gata! I think it should be lower case!

Can't wait for PyP! Last thing I saw FC in, he was a Secretary. Remember PEAM? This will be so different!

Uh oh! I know it was Assvaldo. Does what I said make it sound like Pedro or was that in my comment? Let me go check!

Yep, it was in my "Grazie" comment to you, Marla. TOTAL mistake in the comment. Got it right in the recap. Thanks!

Assvaldo, now thats a well deserved name for That pompose pedro wannabe. "Any woman in the world would want him", he's a
Legend in his own mind. And look like he and
His wife would make a good family with children if they Both weren't so screwed up.

Tofie- OMG! Loved your whole list. LOL!

Can't remember who came up with Assvaldo. Need to keep a cheat sheet.

So I just finally caught up with something like two weeks worth of Muchacha episodes and good lord! I don't know how you guys manage not to shoot these characters on a daily basis! Lila, you're short recap was perfection for the hot mess that exploded on the screen on Friday.

I'm more disappointed in Pedro not telling Fiorella about Sonia's pregnancy while they were on the boat than I am about his slack jawed, zombie reaction to Eloisa's foolishness. He might as well have gotten it all out there while she was stranded in the middle of a lake with little choice but to hear him out. On Eloisa: We all want him to drag E into a room and ask if she's lost her gd mind, but we also all know that won't happen. In a perfect world, he'd call her out privately - out of respect for Aitana - and then give her an ultimatum: Go back out there, apologize and correct yourself or I quit. I'm almost surprised that he didn't put Fiorella up in an apartment after the Acid Eye Debacle (I know, I know. Fiorella would never go for it. Still, it would save us all a lot of headache.)

Eloisa - no. Just no.

Vittorio - I just don't believe Diana's mom told him what's really going on. It would be great is she did, but he's so proud that I feel like he'd be more pissed about it.

G & G - Yes. Thank you for that bone, TN gods. I must say I favor Gael over Gianna most of the time, but that could just be because he's so very good looking. The weird angles made me think they were trying to accomodate whatever Gianna was standng on for the scene, but it was way weird.

I really dislike plotlines in which only the villain knows the truth and we basically have to wait for them to slip up or see the light, so I'm especially nauseous over the Sonia-baby story. Ugh! How many months before that's cleared up?!

The psych doctor does nothing for me as an actress, though I think Gael's scene made him look like a whiner. I hope he explained that he's upset because his bro's married, not just because his doctor and brother might hook up. Speaking of which, I was binge watching while doing laundry, but didn't the doctor meet Sonia and Osvaldo at the same time? Doesn't she know he's married? Is she really that unethical? And couple someone tell Eloisa, who I distinctly remember suggested that the doc was the only woman in the house that was suitable for Gael during that first scene with her.

Random note-I'm sure you guys covered this when it happened, but I was behind and it's been bugging me: I hated Fiorella's new uniform. A dress? Really? That's it? No suit? No professional wear of any kind? And the same pigtails and handkerchief?! Eye roll worthy.

Whew! Thank God for all of you because this TN is so ridiculous, it absolutely requires a Patio for venting!

Sorry - could, not couple. "could someone tell Eloisa." (She should know that her taste in granddaughter-in-laws sucks.)

PS: Roxi continues to be even worse than Mari. I continue to be surprised that that's possible, but there it is. The Little Girl Lost thing is just not enough to save her. She's a screeching, hateful, selfish, monster-baby with zero tact and I look forward toher redemption with even less enthusiasm than I had for Mari's. Her mom's annoying too. I get it; you love her, you mourn all the years of not being able to recognize her as your own, but I also don't care because you're not blind and she's not hiding the fact that she's The Worst. If you love her like a mom, you should want her to be...not The Worst.

Sonia's a mess, but looks wise, I kind of feel like she and Aitana should be switched.

Hellahselle! Sorellina e amica mia! Grazie tanto! Aye, Hella, I could just repeat your whole comment! Love your indepth analysis of the Angeles (and hangers-on) gang!

I think Alina, the Psych, DID meet Osvaldo and Sonia at the same time so I don't know why she had trouble freezing his tail out from the word "go!" Don't remember Eloisa saying the doc was the only woman in the house suitable for Gael. Sounds like Eloisa, though.

Yep, the "uniform" has been trashed. One of my friends said it looked like she was wearing a target and the pigtails were REALLY raked over the coals.

Hear, Hear! on Rotten Roxi! I could just scratch her eyes right out!

So Hella, I'm remember the rape, the slobbering and the body count of Sombra to keep me from cracking up with this Muchachita!

Mille grazie, Hella!

HellaShelle, I'm cracking up at your rant :D "Slack jawed zombie" was my favorite...he's not just slack-jawed, he's not just a zombie, dude's a slack-jawed zombie!

Diana - I miss the swimming AND the shower scenes from FELS. They could at least give us some crumbs and do the same here on MIVAC.

hellashelle - LOL and so true about your hella-rant! Let's open up a Lowered Expectations table on the Patio and complimentary dart board.

LOL - hi ladies! I miss you guys! Lila Lol! I did look like a target (from Target)! And to be honest, I have nothing against the dress, but as a uniform for your personal assistant? What?! Oh yeah, I'd almost forgotten what we just lived through on Sombra! I suppose I'd take this screeching and foolishness over the licking (shudder...shudder again). Ewwwww.

Diva! Captain, my captain! Yes, for one whose mouth didn't open at all when necessary, it came off as distinctly slack-jawed to me. And the way he stiffly handled the Sonia and Aitana hugs, while more or less fine to show us he feels forced, just made me think of the Walking Dead (and wonder if my TV time would be better spent actually watching it now that I think it's on Netflix).

PPS: Ugh! Enough with Dante already! I know he was barely in the last couple of episodes, but when he gets worked up he's too much. There's already too much overacting on this TN and his is so over the top! That, plus having to imagine him hauling his aging, beer-bellied self onto Fedorica and I just cringe whenever he's on screen.

Doris! Hola amiga! I guess I do get rant-y huh. Is it wrong that I love that you called it a hella-rant (because I totally do)? I will absolutly sit at that table and throw darts at...everyone on this TN actually. I think only Gael, Simonet and Fidel escape my exasperation.

Ha! On the next Muertos Caminando...a walker gets snarled in Aitana's hair; Pedro makes it back to the house alive by hiding in plain sight in a herd of walkers; Gi and Gael sneak off to work on their...archery skills....

doris, I feel cheated. They're supposed to be rich...I want to see some badass bathroom fixtures. Why does no one on this show care about hygiene?

Diva - LOLOLOL!!!! I would watch that combination parody! On bathrooms: Over on No Creo, a two villains ruined a gorgeous bathroom with a tub scene. Why, I ask you, WHY?!!! Can't we just get some cute scenes with our lovely protags actually enjoying bathrooms and each other?!

For a minute there, I thought I was going to hear a tale of sledgehammers and smashed tiles...but now that I see they just defiled the tub...hm, no, that's worse.

We did get that scene with Anibal and his whatever in a tub full of bubbles on his "business trip." Just not the same.

It just instantly became a dream of mine to see a TN bathroom destroyed in a scene.

Let's see...Gi and Gael make a break for it and decide to live off his not-modest but not unlimited trust fund. They find a nice little house and decide to remodel it. Love! Sledgehammers! Debris!

Yeah, what is it with the pigtails and hanky
Tied around the pigtails? Fifi has beautiful
Hair. That was probably the old goatetts idea
Tryin to make fifi unattrctive so aitana will
Look good to pedro. I wish fifi would not put
The pigtails back in. her is beautiful, better than aitanas , that cousin it hair on the adams family. Elo had her put it up to attract
Pedro. It didn't work. He's just not into her.

The pigtails are from old Italian movies, like a lot of the background music (See Divorzio all'italiana). However, they are distinctly insulting to Fiorella's beauty and demeaning to her job status. She should be wearing business suits, office-suitable jewelry, and upswept hair.

Eloisa backed Pedro into a corner, which was cowardly of her. She made the situation a fait accompli by doing this publicly, knowing that Pedro would be unlikely to call her out on it. Federica's completely inappropriate announcement helped, although I don't think she was looking for that. She did not have the guts to confront him directly in private, which would have at least been an honest approach. He can still do that although I am wondering whether there will be an engagement announcement in the newspaper in tomorrow's episode.

Pedro can still turn this around although it could carry the risk of loss of job and inheritance. It's a risk he should take. If he gets a job with a rival company he'll be able to buy up the Angeles-owned company as soon as Assvaldo runs it into the ground.

The thing is, Pedro's whole identity is wrapped up in being 1) a good grandson to the woman who "saved" him after his mom died and his dad bailed on him 2) the family's provider, the only one responsible enough to make sure everyone's taken care of. He should leave, but he'd never be that selfish, no matter how selfish everyone else is to him. Plus, now he thinks he has to stick around because Sonia might be having his child. (Ugh! I hate that part so much!)

I need Fiorella to get another job. Unfortunately, she has almost zero contacts that would be willing to help. The few people that might help are all in the same boat as she is. Unless she pulled an "Enchanted" on everyone, I'm not sure that she has many options.

PS: LOL, Diva, you just get me. Also, you have no idea how far I've taken this imaginary scene in my head. It's ridiculous.

Eloisa should know that nobody else can run the family business. She is not in a position to lose Pedro as the CEO unless she is prepared for a major downturn. Sergio is too flighty and Assvaldo is incompetent. Federica may be competent but she's completely inexperienced.

Eloisa is also unlikely to hire an outsider.

If she threatens to disinherit him he should question her competence.

Hmmmm, nice way to start the day with eaten up comments. Oh well. It WOULD happen on this episodes recap. Great conversation y'all, keep the Patio warm for me. Everyone's comments have been cathartic and gives me a boost for the aftermath I have to cover on Monday!

Little peter was gonna blindside grandma she just beat him to it. This should have been a private, well prepared conversation and if an ultimatum part of it fine. Instead Petey wanted to show up and throw up and get outta there.

Fio has no skills. She can dance with a mop, administer eye drops and watch movies. Even if she wanted to go elsewhere, no one would hire her.

I see Gael and Gianna opening their own medical practice. Husband and wife docs.

I have to agree, Eloisa would never fire him, no matter what he does. She knows no one can run the business like he can, and wouldn't it just be so terribly horrible if the business went under? Osvaldo couldn't even do anything about the Monterrey plant, after bragging that it would be sooooo easy. Hell no, he's not going to be able to run the entire company. So El resorts to sneakiness and Pedro's need to play the good little boy.

Fio not only lacks specialized skills, she also lacks any ambition. Maybe that's just a function of they way she had to live for so long--how could she think about "career" or future plans when she really just needed to earn money to put food on the table and pay for medicine. I like that Gianna has this ambition now to become a cardiologist, but she only gets to have that luxury because of the sacrifices Fi has made. (And QTH? Did did they think we would forget that she's not supposed to live long enough to even make it through a semester of college?)

But there are other jobs she could get if she tried--just not anything that's going to pay for Gi's medical care and schooling. Does she actually get a salary working at the ranch, or is it more like a trade for room, board, and Gi's expenses?

Diva - Yes! Gi has an upcoming expiration date and the writers have apparently forgotten this. She has, what, six months? Med school and all it involves-residency, internship, etc) takes years here in the U.S. The writers are wearing THEIR telenovela beanie hats and had one too many melon-tinis on their own patio.

I think we've seen them cut "med school" very, very short before. Haven't we seen a character on another show who went very quickly from being a lawyer to a doctor--and a specialist at that? But less than 6 months? And I think 6 was pushing it.

So let's see, how can they resolve this...she'll finish school in two months, become a cardiologist, and then give Gael detailed instructions on how to do the surgery to "fix" her heart...problem solved! He'll propose in the recovery room and they'll get all mushy about how each one fixed the other's "heart." I'll cry. It'll be fabulous.

And then they'll spoil it with a scene of Pedro and Fi being stupid out in the waiting room while Sonia and/or Fed skulks around a corner listening.

I was under the impression that Gianna's meds are delaying an inevitable surgery, which -- if past TN plots are any indication -- will happen at the worst possible time for it. There will be a day or two of "muy delicada" to the day when they say she can go home in a day or two and Federica tries to kill her.

In the world of reality, a friend of mine had a niece who was born with a heart condition that dictated open heart surgery when she was in high school. She ultimately married and had children. She died recently of a stroke (which runs in that family).

Fiorella should be a model at Vera Duval. She could get rich and famous on her own and she could pay Vittorio back every peso with interest. Gianna could have her operation and finish med school. And Fiorella would be calling the shots about her own life. Money buys options.

Anyway you look at this story its really screwed up, all the right people with the wrong people and then you got the right people with the right people but the wrong people trying to come between the right people. It's just a mess and I hate that the old lady has gotten pietro cornered. why doesn't he just come back with "I am NOT marrying her I don't love her". But you got to be brave to do that, I don't think he is. He looked like he was gonna whip up on the old lady. He wont do that either, he'd brake her.

"Haven't we seen a character on another show who went very quickly from being a lawyer to a doctor--and a specialist at that? But less than 6 months? And I think 6 was pushing it."
Kat - Yesss! I think that was William Levy's character in Cuidado Con el Angel. He then operated on Maite Perroni's recently blind eyes. Oy! I did a double-take when I dropped in to watch a few episodes, like, QTH??? Only in TelenovelaLand. LOL

Hi! I really haven't watched this Tn but there is one female actor, I think Freddie?, who for the past few weeks has suddenly taken to wearing hats indoors. Has this been brought out why? I know whenever I did happen to see her she was always decked out in jewelry. Is it just a style for her? Just curious,

Ann-NYC

Doris- As I remember William Levy was a psychologist at Cuidado con el angel, not a lawyer but yeah it was weird that he went to a 6 month course to especialize on opthamology and then he was able to operate Marichuy. But well in almost every novela there are doctors that seem to have all the especialties of the world.

Anonymous- Everybody in this blog has asked why Federica uses hats in a house being this a disrepect and why nobody tells her to take them off. Maybe it is part of the character's strange personality. She reads the tarot and dresses like a hippie.

Nice, vigorous conversation going on! Cool. Yeah, Ann-NYC, Federica has always worn hats in the house. To me it's a sign of "I'll do what I damned well please!" and she damn well does!

Thanks for the info, Lila and Marla.

Ann-NYC

I didn't see that scene where freddy wears the hat that looks like pherrell's hat. I saw his hat, it looks like the rangers hat on the yogi bear cartoon. Thats not a good look for her or pharrell. But everybody has their own taste, and they're happy happy happy!!! :-D

I can see Eloisa asking/begging PEdro to reconsider...for a hot second. Then I think she'd be stubborn enough to fire Pedro before thinking about the consequences and then lead everyone in a endless refrains of "you're so selfish! you probably think this TN's about you, don't you, don't you, don't you." And then ignoring everyone and pouting in her room because they'll jump all over the themselves to tell her they told her so and Pedro's not so great and that's what she gets for making him her favorite.

What I can't see is Pedro abandoning the company he's run or the family he's supported to work for any other company, much the less the competition, especially without knowing the paternity of Sonia's baby.

As for Fiorella, I was kind of going down a path between UA and Diva's theories: all I can see Fio doing with her skill level and contacts is opening up a store like Princess What's-her-name from Enchanted. Fairytale books and storytime for kids and dresses for girls and women. Shemay have some experience with design or tailoring from her time in the bridal shop. The modelling UA suggested does makes more sense than design; far easier to say "she's a natural! she's a beauty!" than sell her as a professional in an office.

Lol, HellaShelle, now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head :D

Tofie - good point. I wondered about that for a minute too - why he'd make a big announcement when he knows 1) how his grandmother feels about the family getting involved with the staff 2) that his grandma has her heart set on Aitanain particular and 3) how his entire family reacted to the dinner conversation about GaelandGiannajust a few nights ago.

Diva - lol, sorry!

If he really wanted to make the big announcement, he would have done better to be announcing they already WERE married. And in the church, at that.

I guess it's some consolation that he doesn't seem to show any inclination whatsoever to want to give it a "try" with Aitana. Other galanes, I might expect them to go ahead with the farce of a marriage to to not-the-one, but I'm not getting that vibe from Pedro.

Aitana is just as high-maintenance as Tania was. She is clingy, constantly attention-seeking, and probably has a more serious potential for substance abuse than we've seen so far. Why they hell isn't Pedro telling his abuela about that? Or does her "pedigree" dictate automatic superiority over a visibly decent girl like Fiorella who takes responsibility for her chronically ill sister to the degree that she willingly becomes a servant? Does her sense of duty and honor mean nothing?

Fiorella is willing to honor a promise she made to a man who lied big time in order to extract the promise from her in the first place. That is the one thing I'd worry about with her.

Aitana's bloodline absolutely trumps Fiorella's honor in Eloisa's mind. And apparently she's so stubborn than rather than demonstrate that this is ridiculous, they're going to pull a typical TN "lost little rich girl" so that she's "worthy" of Pedro by virtue of being Julieta's daughter. I hate that trope.

Although, I guess Gael and Gianna might be the couple that balances that out as Gianna apparently really is her parents' daughter.

Buongiorno Peeps!

Yes, I'm going to be so tacky as to quote myself re Aitana from yesterday at 3:45 p.m.

How does Granny know Aitana wasn't zoned out on drugs in Europe while she was out "finding herself." How does she know she's not a walking petri dish of STDs?

She dumped Pedro practically at the altar and disappeared she said in Europe to "find herself." She didn't find herSELF but she found Granny at a spiritual retreat and just like that she's welcomed back into the family with open arms? Granny is so concerned about honor and the Almighty Angeles name? Aitana is not only scraggly haired and whiny, she's a black box and, I hope, big trouble. It'll serve Granny, and perhaps Pedro, right. Could make the boy grow a spine as he tries to disentangle himself from Aitana AND Granny!

Off to work! Have fun, y'all!

The "lost little rich girl" thing is part of the fairy tale element of this series, so there will be no avoiding it. However, I hope somebody guilt-trips Julieta big time for the shabby way she's treated Fiorella.

So this story will end up with Pedro feeling a call of the (old money) blood. Unbeknownst to both him and Fiorella, that was what was drawing them together all along.

It helps remembering these things are formulaic but Friday was still infuriatingly stupid.

I want to know what hes going to say to that
Old Bitty, cause he got in her face. If he let's that Old woman push him into marrying that los Angeles wonnabe, then he really don't deserve fiorella. But then she don't need to be Marrying that old guy either.

Reckon we'll find out pretty soon, Nina, pretty soon!

Lila, Julieta is not related to Eloisa. Julieta's mother was Eloisa's best friend. I think they once mentioned when she died, but I don't remember the info.

Yah, I know Urban, that was a failed attempt at humor on my part to say that Pedro felt the call of Fiorella's blue blood, old money blood if she turns out to be truly a "lost little rich girl."

:/

Lila - sorry, I did mean to comment on your theory, but got distracted. I agree, it would serve Eloisa right to have Aitana's missing years turn out to be way off the map. Although, even if she was experimenting with drugs, that won't call down judgment because Gael fell into the same thing. Now, if it turns out it was drugs AND sex and an old partner pops up, then it'll be a problem. If this were a darker TN, we might run into an STD, but I think that's still mostly a no-go zone for the genre.

Lord bless your heart, Hellashelle! You're so gracious about my silly theory!

I just want Granny to hurt and I want Aitana gone!
