La Vecina Highlights and Discussion #95-99 Nov. 2-6

The following is said somewhat in jest.

I was reading an online review of another telenovela and La Vecinca was mentioned in passing. The author called it "del montón" (run-of-the-mill; ordinary).

Excuse me?!

Dude. There are OVNIs. There are rockets (and jokes and dirty sketches). There are spacey sound effects.

¿Del montón?

I don't think so.

PS: If you want to stake your claim to a recapping day leave a comment.

Hi Sara!
I agree, of course. Our little gem of a telenovela has all of the elements of a classic novela: the chemistry, the well-acted and developed characters, the unpredictable plot turns. The reviewer knows none of this because he/she isn't really following the story.

Friday?

Denise

Friday is all yours :-)

Sometimes these low-key telenovelas are perfect. Not too heavy, characters you can root for and really like, and a sprinkling of characters you can hate. This is definitely not a nighttime tn, but it's much better and likable than some of the crappy tns they shows in the evenings. (Mejia and Latoodle, I'm looking at you.)

Sara- I think I can recap today's episode if no one else will cover it.

Well said Vivi. This is way better than some of the things I've seen in the evening.

What makes something a night TN?

I would love it if you could take today, Vivi. Thank you!

I can take Tuesday.

No problem. I've got today.

I think nighttime tns tend to be sexier, prettier, flashier, villains are eviler, everything is more over the top, there are bigger swings in fortune of the characters-- and in order to achieve all of this, sometimes the plots and writing are absolutely ridiculous.

I think I can still do Tuesday Sara

This tn is a really good one. The way I judge is: I'm not dreading how long its going to run, or what crazy things the writers might throw at us, I'm dreading when it ends

Wow, really? I wish this were "ordinary." I think I'd be happier if this were more the norm. It has its goofy, over-the-top moments, but overall it's very real, and very now and has a good mix of comedy, drama, and romance. I'm entertained. I'm excited for the next installment. I don't purposely let episodes pile up on my DVR thinking "maybe I'll be less annoyed if I watch several at once."

Anyway...I'll take my ordinary Thursday, if that's ok :D

Sneaky: Please accept my apologies! I am dead tired today and my brain is in a haze. I completely forgot your generous offer to do Tuesday. Thank you! I look forward to your recap.

I can do Wednesday then ;-)

Vivi: La Vecina is on in the early evening in Mexico (I think.) Maybe that's why the reviewer found it ordinary. I still want to quibble with that.

Diva: I wish there were more shows like this too. This and Lichita satisfy my "cute" cravings. Thank you for taking Thursday!

PS:

"I'm excited for the next installment."

THIS!

La Vecina, Monday 11/2/15, Part 1:

Sara and Tonio stand apart from the rest of the dinner party, smiling and making moon eyes at each other. They remember that fateful trip they took together, where they got stranded and fell in love. Simon briefly interrupts to talk to Tonio about what a sweet thing Sara did for Tonio. Too bad his has a prometida (who is not Sara). He also chats with Sara when they get a moment alone. The classical instrumental cd Bruno created finally ends, and a cumbia escapes the stereo. Tonio lets it play on, but then decides to continue to torture/cultural experiment by going to his apartment for another classical music cd. Juancho wisely decides to go to bed. Tonio finds he has a message from Isa on his house phone and five missed calls from her on his cell phone. He ditches the cell phone in his apartment and decides to call Isa tomorrow.

Tonio returns, puts on the new cd, and tells them all to close their eyes and just feel the music. Simon, Bruno, and Javi promptly fall asleep. LOL! Tonio and Sara take the opportunity to make sexy googly eyes at each other, and then to say goodnight with suggestive near mouth kisses on the cheek, and longing hugs. The next morning, Tonio seems to decide to obliterate the good vibes and feelings recently built with his vecinos by blasting choral music from a boom box on his balcony and heading off to work. Sara has already gone off to work, so it’s Juancho, Simon, and hungover Javi and Bruno who have to suffer the consequences. Juancho and Simon leave to work on the rocket. Bruno and Javi try to locate Chepe to get into Tonio’s apartment. When that fails, they try to climb the balcony. Bruno is just at the top of the ladder, when his phone rings. He answers because he sees it’s Laura, and swiftly falls off the ladder to the grass below, hurting his arm. Both Javi and Laura are very concerned.

Edwina meets with her boss from the bank to convince him to invest in Simon’s rocket. She entices him with the idea of the rocket going to space with the bank logo on the side. He agrees, if he can first meet with Simon and see his rocket. Simon agrees to this! Juancho gets excited too. Serena looks worried that this all might actually work, and reminds them that her final sign off is still needed on the rocket project.

Sara has lunch with Padre and tells him about Tonio’s troubles. He calls Tonio and asks for them to meet for a chat later. Rafa and Tonio talk about the workers. They think they’ll eventually calm down once the gravity of the situation sinks in. Tonio decides not to punish Ramon (why???!).

Nelson has yielded to Pedro’s threats to his daughter’s life, and refuses to come clean about being the mole. Pepe suggests sending his family away; getting into witness protection; telling Tonio and trusting his discretion; or sending an anonymous message to the police. Nelson shoots them all down, but Pepe doesn’t let up.

Cheo continues to plan his surprise birthday party for Sara with Rosa’s help. He tells Rosa to invite Tonio to the party. She wonders what he’s up to.

Part 2:

In D.F.:
-David tells Ric he’s changed his mind and will go to San Gaspar as his minion.
-Sebas gets out of jail and goes right to Nat (who was worried about him). She’s about to give in and kiss him, when a series of calls from Titina, and a brief conversation with her, brings Nat to her senses. She leaves Sebas begging outside. Good!
-Pedro and Ric check in. Pedro has decided that in order for the higher ups at Conatrol to not close the plant, they have to believe Tonio is having success, so his gang will have to reduce the amount of gasoline they are stealing. Ric approves of the plan, and suggests how much they should reduce, but reminds Pedro he has to find the traitor in his mob who is stealing extra gas. Pedro tells Anselmo that the time has come to eliminate Tonio (and put Ric in his place). Pedro and Anselmo go to Progreso to meet with the other mobsters.
-Isa meets with Emma and asks her to confirm the story of Tonio trying to get a job for Sara way back when and bringing her to D.F. Emma tries to play it off and deny. Isa accuses Emma of pimping out Tonio for Isa’s family’s money. Emma denies that too, but not convincingly. She hates that Isa can now hold something over her head, when SHE should be the one holding the blackmail reins. Mariana’s boyfriend arrives and hears Emma denying the Sara in D.F. thing. He catches up with Isa outside, and tells her they are lying to her. Not only was Sara in D.F., but she also stayed in Tonio’s apartment!
-Natalia gives Tonio a heads up about the sh*t storm about to come his way, by giving him a hard time about Sara being in D.F., when Tonio calls to speak to Isa.

Part 3:

Back in San Gaspar:
Padre and Tonio speak. Tonio thinks he’s hit rock bottom (toco el fondo). Padre thinks things have always come too easily for Tonio, and this challenge he’s now facing is good for him. Padre assures him he has not worsened the situation at the plant, and he needs to stop feeling responsible for everything that happens. He’s not the center of the universe. The workers will survive if the plant closes. The world won’t end. All he can do is fight to the finish. Tonio thanks him for the pep talk, but he really doesn’t think he’s handling any part of his life well. Not even his family believes in him. Padre points out it’s not within rights of his family or novia to make this decision for him. Tonio thinks it’s incredible that he and Sara understand him better than his family or Isabel. “Are you going to marry a woman who doesn’t understand you? Do you want to get married?” Tonio admits that he doesn’t want to marry Isa any longer, and at times feels like starting a new life…with Sara. Padre points out that this is because he loves Sara, and he’s on the wrong path right now. He tells Tonio to think about it, and he’ll realize what he has to do. They hug.

Laura was so worried about Bruno, she goes right to his apartment. He’s busy icing his injured arm. Almost immediately they are pulled magnetically into each other's arms. Bruno flinches from the pain, but regardless asks Laura never to let him go (no me sueltes). A longing hug turns into a passionate kiss, that goes on, and on, and on. Until they are interrupted by a call from Pedro saying he’s going to Progreso, and she better go straight home from her literacy class at the church (where she lied she was). She apologizes to Bruno for everything and says they can’t be doing this. She’s a married woman. Bruno doesn’t think they should deny their feelings, plus she’s married to a man who abuses her. Laura tells the whole story of how she came to be Mrs. Pedro Arango. Her parents were heavily in debt to Pedro and basically sold their 16 year old daughter Laura to him to pay off their debt. At first, she thought the marriage could work because Pedro was so nice to her. Then he changed and became abusive. She’s tried to leave before, but he found her and threatened her parents' lives. She can’t leave him. Bruno tells her they will find a solution together. Laura admits this is the first time she has ever been in love. More passionate smooching! End of episode.

Thanks, Vivi!
"Emma denies that too, but not convincingly. She hates that Isa can now hold something over her head, when SHE should be the one holding the blackmail reins." So well said, Vivi.

I'm so afraid for Bruno and Laura.

Muchas gracias, Vivi! Your description of "suggestive near mouth kisses on the cheek" is perfect. I get flippy floppy butterflies when they do that *sigh* Esmeralda and JDC are doing a very good job with these roles.

Laura's story was heartbreaking.

Thanks Denise and Sara. I too am very scared for Bruno and Laura. Pedro is not the kind of man who will accept a divorce or his wife (property) being taken from him.

For Laura's sake is it wrong to hope that Pedro and the rogue saqueador (Camilo? Carmelo?) take each other out?

Sara- No, it is not wrong. I hope the same thing.

Thanks Vivi great recap
" He answers because he sees it’s Laura, and swiftly falls off the ladder to the grass below," cute description of a cute scene:)

"Tonio decides not to punish Ramon (why???!)." - yeah Pepe and Nelson got suspended for fighting, why shouldn't Ramon?
______

Oh my heart just hurts for Laura - Pedro needs to die asap, I don't even care how anymore but Sara has a good idea for how, I can see that working
______

I thought Tonio waking Bruno and Javi up w/music was funny
Simon has a point, he puts up with their music, they can listen to his for once

______

"flippy floppy butterflies" - I get those too!

Oh yeah, I didn't forget (yet)
recap will be up this evening (fingers crossed)

La Vecina 11/3
Part 1
Old – Laura loves Bruno
New- Simon leaves Juancho in charge of the rocket while he goes to check up on some guy’s tractor
Serena arrives and Juancho shows her his plans for the rocket publicity. She’s concerned that the press will make fun of them like before, she tells Juancho you can’t control what the media will say about you

Laura and Bruno tell each other they can’t stop thinking about each other but when Bruno goes in for another kiss, Laura pulls back and says she has to leave.

Roque chews out Cheo for inviting Tonio. Cheo has a mustache twirling plan: he’ll make Tonio watch while he proposes to Sara mwaa haa haa mwaahaha ( he’s practically rubbing his hands together in glee)

Ric tells Uribe about his plan to send David to SG, Uribe approves

Pedro tells his confederates about how they’ll have to cut their robbery by que horror a whole 16% and also suggests giving up some more clandestine valves to make Tonio look effective so they won’t shut down the plant. The other robbers are not pleased with any of this and Carmelo is so not on board. Some other guy isn’t so sure they should kill Tonio, not because he has a problem w/killing, its just how do they know they’ll get anybody better.
Then they discuss the extra drainage, Carmelo wants to know if Pedro has a clue who is doing it. Pedro tells the guys he’s on it and gives them some false leads. Pedro very seriously tells them all that when he finds this guy, he and all his crew will disappear, permanent like. Carmelo just looks smug

Cheo visits Merce to invite her to the surprise party
Rosa invites Sara to the movies for her b-day but Sara wants to wait and see what Cheo has planned. Speak of the devil, its Cheo, he tells her he has to go pick up a truck tomorrow and can’t be w/her Sad!Sara makes plans w/Rosa while her mom remarks to Cheo how good he is at lying (red flag Merce red flag. You want a guy for your daughter who’s a terrible liar)

Rosa invites Pedro & Laura and Tonio to Sara’s surprise party

David notifies Ric and Tonio he will be arriving in SG tomorrow
Ric is a toolbox and Tonio is nice

Tonio calls Sebas to angst about the party invite and what it means and blows off Chepe

Part 2

Ewwwwwwwwwwww the guy who played Matamoros in TdR hits on Nata at some bar (I can’t be objective here, sorry) cheesy pick up line: ‘I bet you have a princess name’
Nata is only slightly less creeped out than I am
Turns out he’s on TV, he lists a bunch of telenovelas he’s been in, she’s not impressed.

Tonio gets home and finds what Chepe was trying to warn him about; Isa is waiting for him in the dark horror movie style – ‘tell me about Sara staying in your apt in the DF’
Isa has the nerve to yell at him for a while, then asks him if he slept with Sara.
When he says yes, she slaps him
Tonio tries to explain, Isa is a total b#@h and doesn’t believe him
Tonio tells her to take some time and decide if she still wants to be w/him – she guilts him, saying ‘I wanted to spend my whole life w/you’

Ugh TN actor guy offers to have the barman make Nata a cocktail with ‘his special recipe’ she’s about to ditch him when Sebas calls so she sticks around to stick it to Sebas. The guy comes back with a sickly green umbrella drink and Nata gets him to talk to Sebas, pretending Sebas is a fan. Sebas stews.

Carmelo and the other guy sit around and talk about their problems – oh stealing isn’t as easy and profitable as it used to be- oh Pedro just don’t have any guts- no guarantee Pedro’s guy will end up running SG plant – Lets do our thing and leave Pedro in the dust – ect ect

Sara asks Simon and Juancho if they have plans for tomorrow, hint, hint. They pretend to have forgotten her b-day. Sad!Sara is sad. (this always makes me so sad when people do this on tv)

Bruno may have actually forgotten Sara’s birthday, he’s so wrapped up in Laura. He tells Javi about the kiss.

Laura is remembering Bruno’s kiss when Pedro comes home a day early and she has to endure Pedro’s kisses. She looks even more squicked out and unhappy about that than usual.

Javi warns Bruno that Laura’s story may not be on the level, Bruno brushes him off

Carmelo plans his inevitable doom ( in a throwdown between him and Pedro I’m backing Pedro) They’ll be continuing to drain gas w/o Pedro’s permission.
He tells his henchie to follow Tonio and at the right moment kill him.
Nata calls Sebas and messes w/him some more, pretending to actually be in to the actor guy

Tonio tries to put Isa to sleep (no not like that) in the guest room. She asks him if she’s still his quiet in the middle of the chaos and he says yes (dude in what way? She’s a shrieking harpy) They make out and maybe more.

Nata tries to disentangle herself from this guy, whose apt she has accompanied him to, and leave already, she’s had enough of talking (hearing really) all about him.(really, you go to a stranger’s apt alone? I mean revenge is sweet and all but, honey, no)
Wait, wait, he wants to show her something.
He wants to make her an actress.
Actually what he really wants is for her to run lines with him
It’s a scene where a cheating man pleads w/his ex on the phone. Nata almost laughs (or maybe it’s the actress having a hard time keeping a straight face)

Part 3
Cheo and Roque call Sara at midnight to sing Las Mananitas for her birthday

TN Actor! Guy overacts and Nata reads her lines in a monotone. When he throws his jacket over his shoulder he hits Nata in the face. It leaves a mark on her lip that could be mistaken for a love bite. Nata plots.

Yep they did it, Tonio and Isa had sex and now she’s all reassured (whatever)

At breakfast Sara sadly sings Las Mananitas to herself till Bruno comes in and then she looks hopeful, but Bruno is only thinking about calling Laura. When Pedro answers Bruno panics and hangs up. Pedro has caller ID and calls back. Bruno makes Sara answer and she covers for him saying when she called there was a malfunction and she hung up but she wanted to talk to Laura and then passes the phone to Bruno. After the call Sara demands an explanation and Bruno tells her the whole terrible story. Sara asks Bruno if he realizes the this means Pedro is a scary dude. Bruno’s not scared.
(I am a little)
That is all

Ok finally its done
I know is sounds overdramatic to always be so uncertain if I'll be able to get it done but what's going on in my head is this "did I remember to set the VCR? I think I did but what if I didn't? What if the storm messes up my tv and I can't see or hear any of it?"

Besides which my car died last night, really died I mean. There was a bang and then smoke started coming out from under the hood, so I think its really dead. It was an old car on its last legs so it wasn't unexpected, and I can borrow another car till I get a new old one, but it just threw my whole schedule off.
Watching la Vecina though, and writing the recap was probably the best part of my day.

Sneaky- I'm so sorry about your car. Mine died this summer and I had to get a new one. :(

Great job with the recap. I'm so with you on wondering what the heck Tonio is talking about with Isa bringing him peace. Oh, please! What's it going to take till he ends this farce? I know he's been with her a long time. But jeez, he can hardly bear to spend a whole day with her, and he's going to commit a whole lifetime?

I had the same thought about Nat going to a stranger's apartment. But I thought he was hilarious. LOL!

I'm too nervous about Pedro to enjoy Bruno and Laura's newly discovered love. And Bruno seems too sure of himself. He can't even begin to understand how evil and dangerous Pedro is.

I'm so sorry about your car! I'm glad you can borrow another one until you can replace the dead one (may it rest in peace.)

Despite the adversity and your worries, you gave us an excellent recap. Extra special thanks.

"red flag Merce" Bingo! Merce should be very worried. Good call, sneaky.

Hahaha! The Matamoros guy is Ricardo Kleinbaum. He's more tolerable in comedy roles. He cracked me up in this episode.

Tonio and Isa. Ick. Glad we all agree about that scene Why is he still telling Isa that she is his oasis in the chaos?? No, Tonio. Quit being a dumbass.

I always get Ricardo Kleinbaum & Julio Bracho confused. Julio is a scary gang leader on Bajo el mismo cielo, he is so good.

Sneaky, thanks so much for this excellent recap.

My fav: "Cheo has a mustache twirling plan: he’ll make Tonio watch while he proposes to Sara mwaa haa haa mwaahaha" Ha ha - loved this!

I was horrified when Natalia went to the actor's apt. (If he really is an actor.) I kept expecting him to spike her drink or jump on her. Nati, get out!!

Bruno is putting Laura at risk when he calls her cell phone. Yikes, does he not realize that Pedro could check her call log anytime?

Amen, Denise! Bruno now knows that Laura was pretty much sold into marriage. Does that not raise any red flags with him?! Does he just not get it because the idea of paying a debt with your own child is so foreign to him?

Sara- The idea was obviously foreign to Javi, who was more inclined to believe Laura was making it up, than to believe something like that could be true.

Doh! That's right.

I'm watching today's episode now. Fidel just mentioned tracing an IP address. I just don't know what to do with myself. They are being modern and logical. Del montón my fanny.

I'm watching now too. Titina's brothers are being SO sweet to her, since they think she's pregnant. That giant bowl of strawberries and cream looked yummy.

#97 Wednesday 11/4 Parte 1
It’s my usual half-assed quickie

Nat shows up at Sebastian’s apartment pretending (I assume) to be hungover. She got totally wasted and can’t remember a thing. So she tells Sebas they can get back together with no problems. H er point (I assume) is actually that no, they can’t get back together because Sebas won’t be able to forget that she (supposedly) slept with someone else.

Sebas does some investigating (on Toodle and Youviedoo) and discovers that Marcelo Bazan is pretty hot stuff in telenovelandia and currently stars in a telenovela that mirrors his situation with Nat. Marcelo is playing a character who is trying to win the love of a woman whose novio cheated on her.

Possessive Pedro is possessive. He tells Laura to get herself all pretty for Sara’s party, then kisses her possessively. Blech.

Sara, Anto and Isa run into each other in the apartment parking lot. Awkward moment is awkward.

Pepe overhears Rafa telling Fidel and Marina that David is arriving to investigate how workers can be transferred to other plants. If a transfer is not possible, the workers will be given a severance pay in accordance with the law.

Anto says goodbye to Isa at the airport.

Pepe tells Nelson that he has to confess that he’s the informant. Anto and Fidel can keep Nelson safe.

Sara is sad that no one seems to have remembered her birthday. Cheo sent a flower arrangement.

Rick tells Pedro that their best bet is to eliminate Anto. Pedro even comments on how much Rick hates Anto.

Carmelo’s henchie reports that the bodyguards stuck close to Anto. The henchie was unable to get near Anto and cause any harm.

Pepe continues to try to convince Nelson to confess to Anto and the police. While they talk, Pedro calls and tells him to let the sensors run as usual without tampering.

While Fidel and Anto discuss the internal informant investigation, an envelope arrives. It’s another anónimo giving up the location of another válvula.

IMO, there is no way Titina is really preggers. But she’s playing it for all it’s worth. She gets one brother to go get her ice cream and another one to clean the kitchen for her. She doesn’t know when or if Chebi is coming back. The two brothers have lines. She asks them not to be too hard on Chebi or he’ll never marry her!

Theme song brings me joy.

Rafa tells Pepe and Nelson about the latest Anónimo.

Fidel and Anto talk to the Conatrol guard about the anónimo. It was left in the mailbox. Anto asks Fidel to review the security footage. Fidel finds it odd that the anónimo has changed methods. First it was e-mails (from towns with practically no internet access) and now a physical note. Fidel asks Anto to send them the other two letters. Fidel will have a cyber-expert trace the IP addresses of the emails.

#97 Wednesday 11/4 Parte 2

Marina shuffles through the mail and sees an envelope for Rafa. She recognizes the handwriting as Quique’s. She calls him. He admits it’s his. It’s an invite for Rafa to some fancy place. Quique wants to make up with Rafa and will promise not to get jealous any more. Quique asks Marina to give the invite to Rafa. Marina puts some other worker in charge of leaving the note for Rafa. He haphazardly tosses it toward the desk….missing the desk. The invitation falls to the floor.

Natalia picks Isa up at the airport. Nat tells Isa all about pulling the wool over Sebastian’s eyes with Marcelo. Isa tells Nat that Anto confessed to sleeping with Sara, Nat is surprised. Nat asks Isa if she has forgiven Anto. Isa doesn’t sound like she really has. She sounds like she’ll be holding this over his head for...like...ever. As long as Isa “wins” she seems happy. I’m not sure that’s how relationships work, chica.

Banker dude wants to sponsor the rocket. Cheers, selfies and happiness! Simon and Edwina share a hot hug. He invites her to Sara’s birthday party...as a friend. Dude.

Anto asks Rafa to pick David up at the airport, show him around San Gaspar. Anto doesn’t want David staying at a hotel. He should stay at Anto’s apartment. Anto also asks Rafa to recommend a nice jewelry store.

Fidel gets a call from the cyber police. The first to anonimos came from an internet cafe in the DF. Fidel tells Anto. Anto calls Lic Uribe. Now there’s a possibility that the informant is actually in the DF offices. (Ok, I think I missed a lot of this….)

For some bizarre reason, Juancho suggests that Simon invite Serena to the party...and Simon does!!

Lic Uribe calls Rick and Sebas into his office and informs them of the IP address trace. Sebas may be dumb in relationships, but he figures out pretty quickly why the informant would be ratting out the saqueadores AND Conatrol at the same time (so the plant stays open.) Lic Uribe puts Rick in charge of calling the police and working closely with them. [Recapper says: AAAARRRGGGHH] Rick smugly thinks to himself that the devil is on his side.

Rosa and Sara are going to the movies. Sara is still pretty sad that no one seems to have remembered her birthday.

Merce has prepared tamales for Sara (like she does every year for her daughter’s birthday.)

Anto makes arrangements for a lovely flower arrangement for Sara.

Rafa picks David up and warns him about the heat and skeeters.

Anto returns to his office. He’s purchased a nice piece of jewelry. Was it a bracelet or a necklace? It’s got a pretty heart-shaped charm. The real estate agent called. She’s emailed several listings to him to look over. Anto comes back to reality...that he’s marrying Isa.

Thanks, Sara! This was perfect.

Dude, that pot of tamales was big enough to cook a few small children in. :)

Vivi, thank you for the Monday recap! I loved getting to see Laura and Bruno together, and I'm glad he knows now how she ended up with Pedro, but YIKES!

I like your suggestion, Sara...Pedro and his buddy can take each other out. Bruno's a nice guy, but maybe too nice to deal with Pedro.

Sneaky, thank you for the Tuesday recap! My DVR freaked out and didn't record the show at all, so I'm glad I can read the recap and find out what I missed before I watch today's episode.

Wait...I thought Isa already knew that Antonio and Sara slept together! Oops...that does change some things....

"Laura is remembering Bruno’s kiss when Pedro comes home a day early and she has to endure Pedro’s kisses." Not sorry I missed that.

"Carmelo plans his inevitable doom ( in a throwdown between him and Pedro I’m backing Pedro)" I'm with you on that!

"She asks him if she’s still his quiet in the middle of the chaos and he says yes (dude in what way? She’s a shrieking harpy)" WHAT THE?!?!?!?!?!

"Bruno’s not scared.
(I am a little)" Me too me too!

I'm glad I'm the one who got hit with a DVR malfunction, sneaky :D And I hope the car thing gets resolved quickly.

Sara, gracias for the Wednesday recap!

"IMO, there is no way Titina is really preggers." Agreed! And I'm totally ok with her manipulating her brothers.

"The invitation falls to the floor." *sob* Why?! Why?! Isn't Quique's jealousy enough of an obstacle?!

"Simon and Edwina share a hot hug." Awww yeah! So close...and yet so far :(

"Merce has prepared tamales for Sara (like she does every year for her daughter’s birthday.)" OMG, that thing was bigger than Cheo! Mr. 5ft was hoping it would spill all over him until I told him it was tamales. Then he took it back. Some things are sacred.

I don't know if Antonio bought her a necklace or a bracelet, but it was pretty :D

Thanks, Vivi and Kat.

Thanks, Sara! I love your "half-assed quickies." They're great.

"For some bizarre reason, Juancho suggests that Simon invite Serena to the party...and Simon does!! OMG, I'm just going to give up on Simón. It's like "Let's see. How can we hurt Edwina's feelings even more!"

I loved the scene where Natalia tortures Sebas. Is there any hope that he will ever be a trustworthy person and life partner for Nati?

Ric definitely has the devil on his side.

Thank you, Denise.

Sara finally got back to a computer and read your recap - thanks so much it was just great

"He invites her to Sara’s birthday party...as a friend. Dude." I know right, everybody else can see he really likes her as more than a friend, Simon get it together!

I just don't get it, if they know the informant is probably in Conatrol DF why is Uribe trusting Ric?

____
Vivi " Dude, that pot of tamales was big enough to cook a few small children in. :)" - ha ha I just kept wondering how she fit that pot on her stove

____
Diva "Isn't Quique's jealousy enough of an obstacle?!" I can't figure out where the writers are going with this, all I can think is either they won't end up together or when they finally do work their problems out they'll be the happiest couple ever.

oh and thanks guys for the appreciation and the good wishes, the car thing is working out ok

La Vecina #98 Th 11/5/15 Part 1

Everyone and Merce's tamales are at El Molcajete, ready to party hearty. Cheo brags about how he called her at midnight to wish her a happy birthday and Bruno gets a little pissed since the game plan was supposed to be "Make Sara think we forgot her birthday." Simon's not there yet--he's picking up his two dates. As Juancho describes them "la que le mueve el tapete, y la que apruebe el cohete" I've replayed that multiple times to make sure I'm getting it all and it just gets funnier :D "The one who makes the earth move for him and the one who's going to sign off on the rocket." Although, let's be honest here…he could have gotten away with "la que le mueve el cohete" for Edwina. IfyouknowwhatImeanandIthinkyoudo.

La que le mueve el cohete is all dolled up when Simon…AND SERENA…arrive to pick her up. She pretends it's all cool, I mean, it's not a date, just a family party, right? A family party for which Simon thinks Edwina looks mighty fine. "Oh, don't believe him, he said the same thing to me," jokes Serena. [Insert pissed off recapper face here]

Isabel doesn't like any of the houses the real estate agent emailed them about. Antonio suggests she contact the agent herself since he clearly didn't give her the correct specs.

David is already suffering from the San Gaspar heat and takes Rafa up on an offer of dinner, as long as it's someplace that has air conditioning! They go to Las Margaritas, which is apparently the same place Quique was intending to meet up with Rafa. He actually runs for it when he sees Rafa with David and Rafa goes after him. He thinks Rafa brought a "date" there to shove it in his face that he already has a new boyfriend. Rafa thinks that's hilarious and says he didn't get any kind of note from Quique. David shows up for the last part of the argument and asks what's happening.

Sara and Rosa had a great time at the movies, but Rosa "forgot" her "keys" at El Molcajete. Winkwinknudgenudge. Sara's sooooo happy when they spring the surprise on her. Antonio arrives after the party has gotten going and Cheo is fake-happy to see him. Both Vicente and Simon find it suspicious that Antonio was invited. Vicente realizes Cheo did it on purpose and isn't too happy with him.

Carmelo's spy is waiting outside El Molcajete for Antonio to leave…but he also reports to Carmelo that Pedro and Laura are there.

Sara also finds it suspicious that Cheo wanted Antonio at the party. Before Antonio can leave, Pedro and Laura come in and Pedro congratulates Antonio on his engagement. Laura can't keep her eyes off Bruno. Javi tells him to cool it…dance with some other girl or something, but Bruno goes off to do something stupid, no doubt. Merce has a turn asking Sara why Antonio's there and what Cheo is planning.

Theme Song Happy Dance!

Rafa confides in David that Quique is his partner. Uh, I wouldn't have put it that way, but ok. Rafa talks about how Quique is suuuuuper jealous and it's not helping that Rafa doesn't think he can be out at work. David gets it. He has a cousin in the same position. He offers to talk to Quique so their friendship doesn't become yet another problem for Rafa. Rafa turns him down.

La Vecina #98 Th 11/5/15 Part 2

Cheo's waiting for someone to show up from Progreso, but they're just leaving due to a flat tire. Padre Vicente, Pedro, Laura, and Antonio talk about the classes at the parish house. Merce drags Antonio over to try some tamales. Pedro takes Laura over to dance and Bruno wants Javi to tell the DJ to announce a change of partners. *sigh* Simon asks Edwina to dance, but she's not sure she remembers how…effin' Serena remembers how and grabs him. [Insert REALLY pissed off recapper face here.] Antonio tells Merce he wouldn't have come if he'd known Cheo was throwing the party. She already knows the bouquet of roses came from Antonio and hid the card so Cheo wouldn't see it. Antonio is apparently a tamale virgin and Merce's are his first. Whaaaaaaat?! I…can't…even. It's a good thing she brought a lot! He already can't wait for the next time Merce makes some. She talks him into sticking around and dancing…well, we all know his dancing isn't anywhere near as good as her tamales. All the wrong people are giving each other longing glances. The DJ calls for a change of partners and the longing glances continue as everyone but Padre V and Edwina are dancing. A second change of partners is called and finally Antonio and Sara are together (with Cheo looking at them), as are Bruno and Laura (with Pedro conveniently facing the wrong way). Padre Vicente runs interference and won't let Cheo break up Anto and Sara…he tries to get him to dance with Edwina…then takes him over to the tamales. Sara's enjoying her party less knowing that Cheo organized this as an "FU" to Antonio. She thanks him for the flowers and he tells her that Merce swiped the note. Sara doesn't want Antonio to give Cheo the satisfaction of leaving, and dances to a second song with him. Edwina tries to leave, but Juancho tells her that Simon only wanted to come with her--Juancho's the one who talked Simon into bringing Serena. He noticed they've been, um, looking at each other. Simon comes over to suggest he and Edwina find some cold drinks.

Edwina fishes for compliments and finally Simon admits he barely noticed what a good dancer Serena was--he mostly wanted to dance with Edwina. And lemme tell you, Edwina and Simon can cut a rug! Cheo's losing patience and gets away from Padre V to grab Sara away from Antonio and pretend that's the proper way to ask a girl to dance. Pedro noticed, like he notices everything but (thankfully) Bruno and Laura sneaking off to the kitchen. They can't resist a snog in front of the menu board. Laura tells him that Javi's wrong…she does want him and he shouldn't doubt it. She sneaks back to the party. Pedro chats Antonio up about the problems at the plant and tries to undermine his confidence, saying Antonio doesn't strike him as a guy who really belongs in San Gaspar. Hasn't Antonio ever thought about striking out on his own? What if someone offered him a good chunk of cash and an opportunity to be set for life--wouldn't he leave the plant? Antonio says he's not in this for the money. He likes a challenge. "A guy who doesn't back down?" Pedro asks. He slaps Antonio on the shoulder and says he's "uno de los míos" (one of mine, one like me, a guy after my own heart). Antonio looks nervous.

Cheo gets a call and abandons Sara. She's instantly suspicious. She and Merce touch base and agree they've got to keep an eye on Cheo. Sara goes over to question Rosa. Rosa says she didn't think there was anything wrong with inviting Antonio or not telling him Cheo was organizing the party.

Roque has arrived from Progreso and whatever he and Cheo are planning, he needs a few minutes to set it up.

La Vecina #98 Th 11/5/15 Part 3

Nat's new actor buddy wants to see her after they wrap for the day, even if it's only for a little while. He bribes her with spoilers. OK, no, not really, I don't think she cares, but if I were a fan of the show and an actor was offering to tell me about the scenes they did that day, I'd take them up on it and pay for drinks. Isa wants to meet him too. Marcelo arrives to pick Nat up, and of course he doesn't mind her bringing Isa along, because who wouldn't want to meet him. Ja, ja, ja. Sebastian sees them all getting into the car and follows. Marcelo brags about his mad driving skillz. Isa notices that Sebastian is following them. Nat talks him into showing off. I have a bad feeling about this. Thankfully, before anything worse can happen, Sebastian's car overheats.

Titina's brothers come looking for Sebas and Chepe holds them off with a folding chair. The bros get home and decide to set up watch at the apartment, since they don't believe either Chepe or Titina when they say Sebastian isn't in town. Titina warns them to cool it--she wants Chebi to marry her "por las buenas" (the good way, the easy way).

Marcelo is now showing off his mad bartending skillz. Or, I should say, his mad acting like a bartender skillz. It's all fun and games until he fumbles a bottle and splashes Nat and Isa. He shows off his mad handing over a credit card to pay for the bottle skillz…and the gold card gets declined…as does the platinum card. Isa's a lousy friend for letting Nat hand over her card.

Antonio's really determined to leave now and gives Sara a last kiss at the corner of her mouth. Before he can depart, the lights go out. When they come back on, there are four couples who do a dance, and then Cheo gets down on one knee and asks Sara to marry him. She tells him she's not ready and she asked him to wait. Cheo loses his temper, as usual, and won't talk to her. Sara throws a glance back at Antonio and her uncles before stalking off to the kitchen in tears. Antonio starts to go after her, but Vicente and Simon both stop him and tell him to get out of there before Cheo kills him. "Only because you guys are asking. They escort him partway to the door and then make sure Cheo doesn't follow.

I was so caught up in worrying about how this horrid proposal would go down that I completely forgot about Carmelo's spy, waiting outside for Antonio! He watches until Antonio heads for his car and then gets out a gun. *GULP*

Fin.

Diva- Fabulous recap. Gulp, indeed! Why are Tonio's bodyguards not with him?

Please let Sara dump Cheo this time and never make up. He doesn't listen to her, then gets ticked off that he can't steamroll her into submission.

I was so nervous Pedro would discover Laura and Bruno when they were making eyes at each other and then snogging in the kitchen.

Finally, some progress in the Simon-Edwina romance, and can you believe Juancho helped move things along?!

I'm always amazed when we watch these tns and the rich people admit (sometimes proudly) that they don't eat Mexican food. Que?! They live in a country with one of the richest culinary cultures, and they turn their noses up at it. Ridiculous!

Do you all think Diego really can't dance, or is it all just for his Tonio character? Dude has no rhythm, while everyone else on that dance floor does.

Right out of the gate with "Everyone and Merce's tamales"! That was a coffee spewer for me.

Aaaand the follow up "la que mueve el cohete." More coffee to clean.

"effin' Serena" Is it fair to be mad at Serena? I'm not sure she is trying to take Simon. Edwina is kind of being a Lichita (allowing herself to be ignored) and Simon is being clueless. I guess it doesn't really matter though since Edwina and Simon ended up together by the end of the episode.

Thank you so much, Kat! This was a fun read!

Sneaky-I'm glad the car stuff is working out!

Vivi- I vote for JDC can't dance. I got a quick look at Pedro's skill. He looked like he could get down. Now I want to see a scene with Luis Gatica dancing. I'm starting to understand why Kat likes this actor so much.

Denise- ay! What a lead in to your episode!

Sara- It's old, but enjoy!

Luis Gatica, singing and dancing: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y89kmDxE1c

Thank you, Vivi! Suddenly Pedro is not so very scary.

"la que mueve el cohete" is the best one yet. ;-)

Diva, so many great lines! Starting with "Everyone and Merce's tamales are at El Molcajete."
And this one:"effin' Serena remembers how and grabs him. [Insert REALLY pissed off recapper face here.]" Ha ha ha. Right there with you.
And of course "la que le mueve el cohete."
Serena appears to have all kinds of hidden agendas, starting with not planning on allowing the cohete to launch - ifyouknowwhatimeanandithinkyoudo. (Thanks,Diva. I love this expression!)

Sara - Uh huh. My sentiments exactly.

Thanks Diva for the recap - these are some of my favorites

"Although, let's be honest here…he could have gotten away with "la que le mueve el cohete" for Edwina. IfyouknowwhatImeanandIthinkyoudo." laughing almost too hard to type

"but Rosa "forgot" her "keys" at El Molcajete. Winkwinknudgenudge."

"Rafa confides in David that Quique is his partner. Uh, I wouldn't have put it that way, but ok." - heh yeah I know what you mean, but maybe if Quique saw himself as a partner they wouldn't be having all these problems. But really, maybe he should let David talk to Quique, it might help.

"He slaps Antonio on the shoulder and says he's "uno de los míos" (one of mine, one like me, a guy after my own heart). Antonio looks nervous." Yeah, I'd be nervous to be that close to Pedro let alone compared to him.
____
Aww I can empathise w/Sebas breaking down, especially this week ;)

____
Juancho is still a buttinski, he's just butting in on the side of good now
______
Denise - I'm with you on Serena having hidden agendas. She seems nice but I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop

______
Vivi - I had no idea there were people who lived in MX who didn't eat Mexican food
How can they even? I don't get it

Hi Sneaky!
Remember that "mi pareja" in Spanish can mean "my mate/my main squeeze."

So our novela is about to start out here on the west coast. This is one reason why I choose Fridays, cause my recaps are pretty late for you guys back east. Reading this back, it's not making a lot of sense. I hope I get more articulate when I start the recap.

You never disappoint, Denise. No worries.
-----
Sneaky: awww! You're right! Having a car break down is awful. Even if he was a cheater.

Good point Denise on mi pareja - no worries on me complaining on late recaps, I won't see today's ep till tonight, so I can maybe comment tomorrow? or Sunday? Monday at the latest:)
anyway I'm sure your recap will be good

La Vecina, Friday, 11/06 Part 1

We pick up the action at the birthday party. Sara looks at Antonio, then at Cheo and walks out of the room, obviously upset. Vicente and Simón convince Anto not to follow Sara as this would set Cheo off.
And there he is – Carmelo’s sicario (hit man), lying in wait for Antonio to come out.
Simón,Vicente and Roque are trying in vain to get Cheo to calm down and to desist in the idea of breaking Antonio’s face.
Outside again Anto looks for his keys and Pedro’s “gato”, Anselmo, calls to Anto from behind. Sicario guy slips away since Carmelo doesn’t want him to be seen by anyone.
Anselmo says he wants to make sure that Anto is okay. Cheo emerges from the restaurant, bellowing threats to Anto. Anselmo puts Cheo in a headlock and puts a gun in Cheo’s ribs.
Inside, Merce says she feels bad for Cheo. Gosh, he put together such a nice party and all. “Mom,” says Sara,”He did this to force me to say yes!” Mom asks if that is the only reason Sara turned him down.
Outside, Cheo and Anto do some macho posuring. Cheo warns Anto that he should watch his back. He and Roque drive off as Anto apologizes for all the trouble he caused. Pedro offers to have Anselmo accompany Anto home [!]
But Bruno offers instead, and after some protesting, Antonio accepts. [phew!]
Back inside blabs the whole story of Sara/Cheo/Antonio to Serena and Edwina, and Pedro tells Laura that he was outside offering his help to poor “Ingeniero Andrade.” In the kitchen of the restaurant Merce hands Sara Antonio’s note from the flowers. She will read it later. Simón and Vicente find her,and she tells them that she is done with Cheo and the way he always wants to “salirse con la suya”(get his way).

In Anto’s car, Bruno asks our galán if he told Sara to reject Cheo’s proposal. “Of course not” is Anto’s reply. “It would be awful for a person to end up married to someone they don’t love,” surmises Bruno with a far away look in his eyes.

Sara finds a moment alone to read Anto’s flower note:
“May these flowers speak for me and tell you all that I feel for you, because I don’t have the right to tell you how much I love you.” [Dang, he’s good.]

Sicario guy is reporting back to Carmelo. He tells him how Pedro offered to help Antonio. Carmelo is perplexed. He tells his henchman to keep watching Anto and to take him out – without failing this time.

Anselmo tells Pedro that he thinks he saw Matías (the sicario) “rondando” El Molcajete. Pedro thinks “Hmmm.”

Antonio arrives at his apartment and greets David as Rafa takes his leave of both of them.

At a bar Roque tries to tell Cheo to slow down on the drinks and to talk to Sara tomorrow. “She’ll just send me packing,” laments Cheo. “Give her a chance,” says Roque.

“Chelo” drops off Isa and Nati at their apt. They had a wonderful time, right?
Uhhh, sure. Don’t call us; we’ll call you, they both imply. As he leaves, Sebas runs up to them, in a tizzy about Nati’s new love interest. Isa steps in and says that Nati has already accepted the actor and Sebas has no more “vela en este entierro”(candle in this funeral). Nati says, “Ummm. That’s right, and stop stalking me!”

La Vecina, Friday Part 2

Roque convinces Cheo that sooner or later the “ingeniero” is going to leave San Gasp and leave the road clear for Cheo. Cheo should just go talk to Sara – but not in his inebriated condition.

Sara and Merce arrive at Simón’s apt, where Bruno is seated on the couch. They bring each other current on things. Bruno asks where the flowers came from. “From Antonio. And don’t say I’m filling my head with illusions, because I’m not!”, says Sara. “Uh huh,” says Bruno.

[Theme song] Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm.

In their apartment, Isa is convincing Nati to firm up her resolve and not give in to Sebas’ imploring her to accept him back. Isa recounts all of the horrible things Sebas put Nati through. “You’re right,” says Nati, “he’s got a lot more begging to do.”

On his balcony, Anto recalls Bruno’s words about being with someone you don’t love. Ah, Sara is out on her balcony too! [They both look so dreamy in the nighttime light.]
Anto: “Can we talk?”
Sara: “Here or down there?”
Anto: “Down there.”
Sara: “Okay.”
They exit their apts and go down the elevator together.

Edwina and Simón enter her house. It was a great night. Too bad about how it ended. I never danced so much. So, well, um...get some rest. Really awkward pause here. Then Edwina embraces and kisses Simón. Okay, it was a side kiss – but a really passionate one.

Sara and Anto are down in the grassy area. She loved the flowers and the note. And yes, he has the right to tell her he cares for her. Wait, he has a gift for her. It’s the beautiful necklace or bracelet. Sara throws her arms around Anto and embraces him for a heartfelt sentimental moment.
We see Cheo in the background walking up with a ramo of roses. He is thunderstruck. He turns on his heels and walks back to where Roque and the car are. The Ingeniero is going to know what this feels like, because Cheo swears that he is going to do the same thing to him!

Ah, it’s a necklace. With “their music” playing in the background, Anto puts the “alaja” on Sara’s lovely neck. Sara explains that she cares for Cheo, but that he could never get over what had happened btw her and Antonio. He was obsessed with winning over Antonio, and Sara was the trophy. The man she marries must love her “plenamente”(fully) and never doubt her affection for him. And he must be willing to defend their love... ♪♪Este amoorrr...

Next day Anto gets a call from Sebas, who brings him up to speed on the Nati/Isa/Chelo front. Then Anto tells Sebas all about the happenings at the party.

Edwina is chatting with her cuñada, Magda. The party was great, and when Simón brought her home, she kissed him! Whoo hoo!
Magda: “And then what happened?”
Edw: “Uh, nothing.”
Mag: “But you kissed him!”
Edw: “Yeah, but it was just a kiss on the cheek.”
(Magda cara de “Geez, you guys are slow!”)

Merce and Simón are having breakfast. How did you like the party, and which of those two chicks do you really like? Merce asks.
Simon admits that Edwina stirs something in him, but darn, he just feels like he’s being unfaithful to Merlina. Merce says he really needs to let her go and get on with life now.

Magda tells Edwina to stop underestimating herself. She is full of desirable virtues. She is cheerful, honest, spontaneous... and besides, men like women who are sure of themselves.

Marcelo is in his dressing room when he gets a call from a reporter from “World of the Stars” magazine based in Miami. “Chelo” is excited. Wait a minute. It’s Sebas! With a Cuban accent. Sebas sets up a appointment to interview Chelo.
Now off the phone, Sebas says he’s going to leave the actor unrecognizable to his own mother.

La Vecina, Friday Part 3

At Conatrol, Rafa brings Marina up to speed on the Quique/Rafa/David scene at the restaurant. “OMG” says Marina. “Was the new inge scandalized?” “No, he has a “criterio amplio”(liberal mindset),”says Rafa.
“More people should be like that,” offers Marina.

Yadda yadda scene with Sara, Bruno y Juancho.

Cheo is playing Sara’s message for Roque to hear. Roque: “Why don’t you call her back?” Cheo: “She’s phonier than a two dollar bill!” As they talk, the boss yells Cheo’s name. “Get the insurance on the phone! A trailer full of our cars just got stolen!” [Oh geez; here it comes.]

Turns out the insurance policy that Cheo contracted for only offers minimal, that is, partial coverage of the dealership’s losses. [We knew this was coming.] The boss yells at Cheo. Cheo is going to pay for any losses!

Pepe again begs Nelson to speak to Antonio. “The new Ingeniero is here to see about relocating personnel!”
Nelson convinces Pepe to see what more he can find out from Rafa. Nelson says he can’t look Rafa in the eyes himself.

Slick Ric is debriefing the expert on the válvula/informant situation. The guy tells him everything. Ric feigns concern. “Keep me in the loop, and thanks so much for your service!” says Ric.

Scene wherein Anto tells David that he believes the saqueadores themselves are turning in the locations of some válvulas in the hope that Conatrol will believe their community outreach program is successful and so, won’t close the plant.
[David, pleeeease don’t report this back to Ric.]

Rafa finally finds the note from Quique, but too little too late.
Pepe enters Rafa’s office. Pepe says, “Hey, don’t bother to hide that love note. We all know the truth around here.”
Rafa’s face goes ashen. “Wha-wha-wha-what?”
“Yeah, we all know you and Marina have a thing going!”
“Ah, yes, well. That’s our business now isn’t it, ja ja.” (Rafa cara de phew!)
Pepe lingers and gets Rafa to explain how there seems to be another informant out of el D.F..

Roque and Cheo talk about the awful insurance situation.

Things are looking good for the launch of the cohete. Juancho has got the web page up and running, and Serena says everything is a “go” at headquarters.

Pepe tells Nelson about the probability of another informant. Could Nelson possibly find out about this? Hmmm. That would make him sort of a double agent.

Anto has an unpleasant phone conversation with Isa. He asks her to not take sides with Nati against Sebastian. She reminds him that he covered for Sebas when Sebas was bleeping Titina, and Sebas covered for Anto when Anto took up with “La vecina.” Anto: “Are you going to bring that up every time the oportunity presents itself?”

Cheo’s boss informs him that the insurance company has agreed to review the case. Cheo must go to the D.F. right away. And he better come back with good news or else Ernesto will be all over him!

Nelson as a double agent.
Nelson calls Pedro as Pepe listens in and acts as a lookout.
Nelson: “Somethings wrong and the sensors aren’t responding. Can you have your other contact call me and tell me how to proceed?”

Cue the music.

Denise, thank you for the Friday recap!

I noticed that the dancers got left behind when Cheo and Roque stomped out of there. I hope someone got them a ride home!

I loved that note on the flowers. "Dang, he's good." Oh, yeah, you said it!

"Anselmo tells Pedro that he thinks he saw Matías (the sicario) “rondando” El Molcajete." I'm amazed he stuck with "I think so." Oh, really, Anselmo? You only think so? Did he learn his lesson after getting the beverage guy killed off for nothing.

"(Magda cara de “Geez, you guys are slow!”)" I'm with Magda! I'm ready for this relationship to launch :D

I'm scared that Nelson overplayed his hand with asking about "the other contact." Pedro seemed suspicious. Or maybe he's just being Pedro.

Thanks everyone for your comments on Thursday's recap :D I guess my only thing with Rafa describing Quique as his pareja is I thought they had broken up. At least, from Rafa's pov...obviously Quique doesn't see it that way.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was weird that Antonio has never eaten tamales. I know I'm biased, but...talk about cultural deprivation!

Hi Diva! Thanks for your comments.

I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed those dancers' performance. It looked like so much fun.
Good point about Anselmo costing the wine salesman his life because of what he thought he saw.
"I'm ready for this relationship to launch :D" Ha ha ha.

Thanks Denise for Friday's recap!! And also thanks sneaky2shoes, diva, Denise, vivi, and Sara for always taking the time to recap this definitely-not-del-monton tn!!

So very very glad that Sara didn't let Cheo steamroll her into saying yes in front of everyone, and that she understood perfectly what his hidden intentions were for her birthday party. So refreshing. And Found it interesting that when everyone was dancing with their right partner at the party, Sara/Antonio & laura/Bruno, Cheo was dancing with rosa.....

Also loved Magda's face when Edwina told her about the kiss on the cheek haha, I think that Edwina/Simon are becoming my 2nd fav couple, finding their slow courtship to be adorable

jlk

jlk! I'm so glad to hear from you1

What an interesting observation about Cheo and Rosa. I remember when Rosa was saying what a great guy she thought Cheo was. I bet you're right. I bet they're the end game.

Denise- I'm sorry to be commenting so late. I enjoyed the recap immensely. Thank you.

I was so glad when Sara turned Cheo down, broke up with him, and articulated perfectly why he is not the man for her. Now, if only Tonio could assess his situation with Isa so clearly.

I was right there with Magda, thinking Simon and Ed need to get a move on. I hope Ed takes her advice to be a bit more forward.

Muchas gracias, Denise! Others have said it, but "(Magda cara de “Geez, you guys are slow!”)" is funny and very accurate.

"♪♪Este amoorrr..." really stood out to me. Your recap was already wonderful, this just made it lyrical (couldn't resist.) It's a small thing, but it just added to the whole description of the scene. The music is just another aspect of the show that separates it from other shows that are "del montón".

Thanks again Denise!

jlk!!!!!!!!!!

It's so good to "see" you again!! My I join you at the Edwina/Simon (Simwina? Edmón?) table? Those two are darlingprecious!

Random: Juancho is really maturing and becoming less bratty, isn't he?

Sara- Yes. Sending Jauncho to Simon (and Bruno, with assist from Vicente) was a good decision by Merce.

Typo- Juancho
