Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #95 Tue 11/24/15--Wedding Bells And Death Knells or, Like a Bad Penney, Daniel Always Turns Up

·       Alma hisses at arrogant Ari to get lost before she calls the police on him.  He leaves and Clara and Esperanza put her to bed.  Alma hints at Clara to keep mum same as before with Leo; that he’s old enough to realize there are times when discretion is the better part of valor—i.e., it’s more courageous than outrageous to keep quiet as opposed to blabbing the hurtful truth to all around you.  When Clara and Espy object, Alma hisses that she’ll handle things herself in this matter because these are people who’ve been loving and helpful and she doesn’t want to lose their continued support. Throughout the rest of the episodio she suffers in silence but doesn’t let on that she knows.

·       Josefa lets Isela know in no uncertain terms that she knows Ise’s trying to steal something out of the box.  The picture?  Why?  Because the suicide note has handwriting that doesn’t appear to be her sister’s and Ise thinks it could be Hosie’s.  Hosie writes on the back of the picture so A the Little Lawyer Man (Arin?) can have it analyzed also.  Hosie wants an answer to the “who done it?” same as Ise does.

·       Ise talks to Little Lawyer Man and finds out there’s a woman in charge of the Women’s Prison who has—per some news article—been all during numerous women’s deaths there.  We learn that Corrina is there, under the Bully Bitch’s “care.”  Fights pursue Corrina and anyone who dares to defend her getting beaten all the time gets taken to BB and threatened with never seeing one’s kids till they have grand kids of their own.

·       Along those same lines, Max thrills Maria Dolores with the news that he’s located her Corrina and is in the process of helping her legally.

·       Julian and Fermin stop by Orlando’s mechanic’s shop and look over the (hopefully armored) car for handicapped drivers.  It’s ready for MD’s wedding entourage per Julian’s wish.  Orly says fine, but he’ll have to drive it and show him how to work the handicap gadgets first—Hell, to learn how to drive period! Ok…..

·       Meanwhile, Aunty Suzie and Ivana have another row.  This time over telling Ivaca that she’s dead wrong helping DannyBoy wreck MD’s wedding which is now this very day instead of weeks from now.  Ivaca tells Suzie to can it and if MD has been the cause of her misfortunes let her pay today.  “—Not with Max’s death!  You know that’s what will happen if Daniel and the rest of that pack of wolves [hounds-European transl.] gets hold of him!”  Ok.  Ivaca thinks about it.

·       DannyBoy gets hold of MD’s daddy’s murderer who's, as of today, now also been let out of prison.  They make plans to kidnap Max on the way to the church –the original wedding day.

·       Hosie calls Urrrrsula to advise that Ise’s news is that the wedding day has been moved up to today!!!! Ivaca calls Daniel to convince him she doesn’t want to be a part of this kidnapping thing if Dan’s going to harm Max.  No!  In fact she convinces him to change his plans by telling him his family is really not and never has been bankrupt!!  DannyBoy hangs up and races away.  Ruh-roh!  Ivaca now has to fix this somehow.

·       Max went to confession and must apologize and forgive Claudio his BIG SIN in penance.  They make nice.  Everybody gets ready to go to the church.  During the lo-o-o-o-ong drive there, Murder Mens follow secretly behind.  Ivaca calls Max on his dad’s cell since his was left at home; she gets only half way through her story that Daniel knows they’re getting married today and he’s going to spirit MarDi away with him.   Max gets all worked up and excited so he hangs up at that point and doesn’t get told that there’s a kidnap/murder plot against him as well.  Max screams to Clod to stop the car and let him out.  He’ll meet them at the church later.  He races off in the next taxi, just ahead of Murder Mens.

·       Doris and Orly, Fermin (in anything but ermine) and Honoria are all outside the church bringing in the decorations.

·       Julian and MD have a silly heart to heart while waiting at the house for Orly to drive over and pick them up.  Suddenly there’s a banging at the door.  Ruh-rohhhhhh.  It’s dangerously delinquent, aka Deranged, Daniel come a knock-knock-knockin’ at the door.  Ho-o-o-o-o-o-o-owl-l-l.

Once again, someone just swings the door open without checking!

Thank you Jardinera

"Little Lawyer Man", "Bully Bitch", "Murder Men"

These people never learn. Two days since Dan shows up and they still leave MD practically alone?

Wow, there are a lot of people that want Max dead and no one to help.

If Ivana wanted to save Max she should have called him first, black hearted bitch. I was yelling for Susana to call Max.

If Max survives he needs to get away from his toxic gf, her crazy ex and bastard of a father. MD pressuring Claudio helped him make up his mind to help Usurla get Dan and the goon squad out of jail. All could have been avoided if she had gone to Max first with her knowledge of Isela and Claudio.

Well, contrary to belief Alma didn't die and at least by knowing she gets to decide how she handles it.

Same prison administrator still in a position of authority. Does she have something on Claudio?

Gracias, Jardinera.

Ivana definitely went over the rails in this episode when she said she didn't care if Max had to die so she could have the baby. However, she was right that Susanna wants for her to be a miserable spinster like herself. What Ivana needed to do before calling Max was to call the police, which nobody ever thinks to do.

I loved how Alma is handling the revelation. While the Morales women might not get it, she is definitely doing this for her sons. If she makes it to the end without their finding out she knows, more power to her. Especially if she changes her will beforehand and leaves nada to Claudio.

More later.

Good lord, but this TN does NOT let up with the excitement! Muchas gracias, Jardinera, for the great recap. Loved "the (hopefully armored) car". Seriously, right! How do they not have body guards yet?! Or, at least, a restraining order or order of protection?!

So all that worry about Alma amounted to...nothing more that her avoiding taking Claudio's hand in the foyer (great detail, btw). She has the best poker face of this TN! She's being the stand up person Vivi said she'd be about this whole thing weeks ago. It's pretty damn awesome, but I'm super curious now as to her reasons for staying so calm. Is it a "death puts everything in perspective" thing, or more of a "I know they both love me, in their own ways, so I don't really care." I'm looking forward to hearing her perspective.

I thought that maybe Claudio had signed off on the results of the prison investigation without doing due diligence, but now I wonder if the woman in charge (Marcia?) found out about Hector's murder.

Ivana def went off the rails for a second there. I was about to double my mental anvil for her for saying that Max could just die if he got in the way of her baby-stealing plot, but she returned to sanity. Susana might be a mean little spider, but at least she's still rational! PS: this whole thing with Ivana blaming MD for her failed relationship with Dan is really too much. There are more than enough black marks against MD that she's actually had a hand in for Ivana to be blaming her for the actions of the homicidal maniacs that were her in-laws.

The thing between MD and Ivana is irrational, MD got over the disclosures and punches (by both) during the pissing contest over Dan at MD's house and Ivana never has or never wanted to.

Jardinera654, good recap. It can only go down hill from here. Hes got that same crazy
Zombie look on his face when he raped her.
If she can remember that gun, she might be
Able to hold him off till max or orly and the gang show up.
Why the hell is isela tellin hell-seffa the wed
Day was changed to today? This girl is just bad news all day long. Just once I wish something would turn out right before the end happy ending happens. You know like on "lo Imperdanable" when vero and marty
Came together again? They still had to fight
But at least they were together. Whatever....
Not lookin forward to tonite, but I'll watch to
See who screws up, MD or danny. Or both.
I hope alma desides to fight. Keep hope alive.

Thanks, Jardinera. Great bullet points recap!

What a crazy episode. Ivana was dead to me the moment she said Max could die, if it meant he wasn't in the way of her getting her baby. She could have very well called the police, just like she's had more than enough ammunition to put a real stop to the Santibanez for a LONG time now- she has plenty of dirt on them. She only does, or doesn't do, just enough so that later she can assuage her guilt and justify herself. Go to hell, Ivana.

Lordy-- the one criminal Clod let free is about to accost his whole family. And the other one that he set free is about to accost his future daughter-in-law and likely his son Max too. Good going, Clod. Sorry Tofie, MD is not to blame for this. Clod was always going to bend to Ursula's will if it meant keeping her quiet about him and Isela to Alma. Max knowing about the affair didn't put a stop to his stupidity train.

The only question now is, who's going to get shot tonight in the two assault situations. OMG! Tonight's my night! OK, it may be up late as I bake, AND try to wade through all the drama to write something comprehensible.

Alma looked like she WAS about to say something to Clod when he walked into the bedroom, then she stopped when Leo came in. Great subtle body language from Alma with Clod after the reveal.

I was also thinking about something else, which is the whole bankruptcy story.

Arango told that story to Ursula off-camera and they broke that news together to her two sick brats in the opening episode. Mama Bear demands that her two cubs marry dinero to get them out of financial oblivion. 41 episodes later Arango told Mama Bear that the coffers were full all along and she was shocked. No real explanation for this.

It would have made total logical sense if Ursula knew her brats' tendency to "slum" for sexual partners and concocted this lie with Arango to stop them getting more deeply involved. However, Maleny was dating Max and boinking him already. Ursula didn't know about Ari or Maria Dolores at that point, hence no motive for her to invent this lie other than to force them to grow up and become financially responsible (whatever she was willing to define that as).

That she maintained the lie after Arango's revelation is no surprise. She's a greedy monster and possibly a black widow. She is somehow behind Hector's death even if her fingerprints were never on the weapon.

Thus far I don't think the writers have ret-conned anything, so this means she has to wonder about Arango's motive for lying to her about the bankruptcy. Could he have removed a significant amount for a quick investment scheme that paid off in money that he has stashed offshore in his own account? They better explain this one.

Daniel's obsession with Maria Dolores will only end when he's dead. Or she, but I doubt we'll get that kind of an ending.

Jardinera, thanks a bunch.

MD is not to blame. Claudio is the most educated and experienced person in this TN and he's let Ursula play him like an a$$. Ivana knows Ursula and Dan tried to kill her and are world-class liars and she lets them play her like an a$$. Thank goodness for horrible but sane Susana.

I expected Viewerville to be let in on what Alma is thinking about the betrayal. I'm surprised she believed Ari so quickly, but looking at Clara and Espy's reaction to his big mouth spoke volumes too.

Nothing better happened to that special car that Orly has been laboring over for Julian.

Ari always makes me laugh. He was right, Doris looked smashing.

No, MD did not cause this but is a major contributor to an unfortunate chain of events. Could she foretell Max may die when she attempted to dissuade Claudio and Isela, no. What she did was use disclosure to Max of the affair as leverage to get them to stop but neglected to tell Max.

MD is the clerk at 7-11 that sold a six pack to an inebriated friend, sees them drive off and they kill someone in a crash.

Thank you Jardinera.

I kept screaming at the screen for Susana to call the police. Then I did it again when Ivana called Dan. Just call the police. They never think of that.

I can't believe how delusional Dan is to think that after everything that has happened, MD would want to be with him.

Poor Corina, what a hellacious life she's living right now. I don't know how she could ever forgive MD over it.

Remember everyone, MD has a gun in the drawer in the kitchen. I think it's going to get used tonight.

Clod freed Dan's cellmate AFTER MD told Max the truth and Max confronted his father both about the affair and about helping Ursula to keep it quiet. MD telling Max sooner would have changed nothing about Clod's behavior and him setting Dan and his friend free. This is ALL on Clod.

Awesome recap, thank you.

I thought the plan to fake the bankruptcy was Ursula's all along, not Arango's. She pretended in front of her little weasels that she had just found out from him also. I seem to remember that at the time we (Viewerville) found out she faked it we were all wondering why she did it, could she be so greedy. But someone may have commented (memory is dim here) that the totality of the Santibanez, Duran, and Bustamante fortunes was nothing to sneeze at. And with Ursula still pulling the strings on her puppet children, she would be in total control of all that wealth eventually ... or so she thought.

I think Alma is waiting for just the right moment to let Claudio and Isela know that she knows about the affair. And since this show hasn't let us down yet, I'm guessing it will be magnificent. (How about in the reading of the will?) (Deathbed confession?)

A big round of applause for Jar having to recap this episode. It was non-stop action. Are we to believe these people can be so delusional?

I caught Ivana declaring she wanted Max out of the way before he could give HER baby his name. Delusional. True, she had a change of heart, but...she had murder in her heart for a bit.

Can Alma really see Clod and Ise in the same way ever again, now that she knows or strongly suspects infidelity and must pretend she doesn't know? Delusional.

Agree that a wheelchair bound, love-doped man left alone with a bride-to-be who was just threatened by her EX-something-vile was asking for trouble. Delusional and naïve. Although, tradition is that the bride arrives in a coach or vehicle by herself, to be greeted at the church door by the priest, her groom, the guests and gets walked into the church by the father or his stand-in. Or...have I been watching too many telenovelas. At least we know why the gun was left in MD's apartment. Yeah, it's going to get used tonight. That beautiful dress is going to be ruined and someone is going to shed blood. MIGHTY MAX to the RESCUE?

Agree that Dan-Dan, upon hearing that with Max out of the way, it would leave the way clear for him to get back with MD. How can he believe she has any love for him after all MD has said and done to him? Really delusional.

Maleny is now a totally damaged woman--as is Corrina, only Maleny is not behind bars, just in a mental prison of her mother's making. She was almost better off not knowing the details of Hector's death.

I also believe that Ursula was just faking financial ruin--we speculated about that. She made no move to downsize their life-style, while making her cubs think that marriage to money would then solve HER money problems. Didn't we hear at some point that Hector thought he was in financial ruin and a disgrace to his family and the reason why Ursula urged him to commit suicide? At least that's the story and she's sticking to it. She must have already had a stash that Arango was overseeing for her to want him dead--that, insurance and a will in her favor. She and Arango may have been the ones who set it up to make Hector think he was in ruin.

My head is spinning. It looks as though it all boils down to 1) The real story of Hector's death; 2) The real story of Marta's death.

And it appears Claudio may be involved in the cover up of two murders. Did he know it was murder and doing one of his infamous "favors" or a blind fool? If his son dies will he cover up for the perpetrators since it may lead back to him?

I just had a thought. At first I thought it odd that Max confessed and then asked Claudio for forgiveness for hitting him. But that foretells that Claudio will die and Max can have a clear conscious that he cleared this up with him before death.

Cathy, I think you're right. We are now less than 30 episodes before the end.

I just might go back to episode 42 to check on that bankruptcy thing. That was prior to any flashbacks of Hector.

I was traveling when #42 aired, so I will have to look for it On Demand.

Yeah I can see blood all over MD'S dress.this
Will be the wedding day from hell. That gun
Looked like trouble when hon came out with it. O boy, what a mess on the way. Maybe it won't be too bad. Have to wait for tonite.

Just checked episode 42. Ursula and Arango talking. She's frantic that Dan may not show up for the wedding to Ivana. She says, do you know what's at stake? He says of course he does. That she loses the opportunity to increase her fortune, and that her children find out that they were never in ruin.

Cathyx- Thanks for going back to look for us. So as many of us thought, Ursula was the mastermind behind the lie of them being bankrupt.

She's been the mastermind behind everything. Dan and Arango have been her pawns. Maleny at least hasn't done what she's wanted.

It was nice going back because I got to see the scene where Max hired a guy to serenade MD with a guitar, and Orlando called Doris, woke her up, and held the phone for her to get a phone serenade. So sweet. And this was before they were going out together. He just knew that she would like it.

Aww! I must watch this episode now.

I wish I could just binge watch the rest....can't wait for more. Awesome recap!

Thank you for the great recap Jardinera!

Jarocha

Why hasn't Ivana figured out MD didn't do anything to her...Daniel and family made up all the lies about her. It's so frustrating!

Ivana doesn't want to figure that out. She wants and needs to believe MD has done her wrong to not feel guilty for all the things she's done to her and all her plans of taking her baby.
