Sueño de Amor (SdA) US #113 (MEX #114, #115). Tuesday August 23, 2016. Darn You, Kracy, You Had One Job!

I'm a rational being, get me out of here!
At a glance

-- He lives! That rascal!
-- It appears that the geniuses at Looneyvision got scissor-happy again and are doing some creative editing to this creative show. They smushed two episodes together, #114 and #115 as per the Mexican broadcast. Recapper Jarifa has kindly contributed a summary for Episode #115, added at the end.

A closer look

In our wearisome and most loathed Sueñolandia, a severe case of nuptialsus interruptus is underway. We now know why Cristina Vélez Valderrama (CVV) chose an all-white color palette for her wedding: Camouflage. This is the only way we can explain why trigger-happy Kracy missed her shot at such a short distance and ended up getting Ricardolt in the shoulder instead of right between the eyes. Esperanza using her one-true-love as a human shield didn’t help either. It also seemed as if Tricky Ricky deliberately chose to shield Esperanza with his body instead of protecting his stunning bride; partly out of love and partly because he needed more cushion for the fall.

A brouhaha ensues, CVV screams for an ambulance and wrestles with Kracy who manages to escape in the end. Guests rush to Ricardo’s side, who comes to just long enough to ask about his kids. Esperanza and CVV wail next to their man’s inanimate body. The only people I feel sorry for in this boiling cauldron of piping hot mess are the poor children and Baby Luca.

At the kiddie nightclub, there is a dance competition between Kiko’s crew (Kiko, Estrella, Adrián and Virgilio) and Paulo’s crew (A bunch of idiots + Salma). Paulo gives Salma drugs and kisses her in front of Kiko, who contorts his face with pain. Later on, Kiko sings while his friends dance and this recapper fastforwards. Paulo and his cronies do a dance number as well and end up winning the dance-off. Many in the crowd disagree with the decision and Salma looks sad for Kiko.

The waterworks show moves to the hospital’s waiting room. Ricardo’s two women, his kids, his soon-to-be step daughter, his adoptive mother/alcahueta and some of the wedding guests are there too. Pato wants to put her quacking to good use and offers CVV to babysit the kids. She becomes Pato Quack again and takes the children to the hospital cafeteria. She can be so lovely and sweet when she wants to. She even comforts her mom who feels guilty for not interrupting the wedding ceremony earlier; she could’ve saved Ricardo’s life. Or she could’ve called the police but nobody seems to call the police in these TNs so I’ll spare you the rant. Margarita thanks CVV for saving the wedding guests by foolishly struggling with gun-toting Kracy. CVV replies that Esperanza saved Ricardo’s life but the blonde menace doesn’t look very happy or grateful that her love rival gets this huge credit.

Anya and Pedro are at the water park. She urges him to use the toboggans as a way to overcome his fears, including the fear to fall in love again, hint hint. Later, as they lay in the sun, she tells him that she values imagination more than money; right now they could imagine they are in some tropical beach somewhere. He tells her about Kristel who snivelled for a living and made him suffer heaps then crossed the pond (cruzar el charco), to everyone’s relief. Anya points out that Kristel belongs to the past and should stay there. Smooches. Later on, Pedro playfully throws Anya in the swimming pool and she sinks at the bottom pretending to drown so he can jump in and save her. She pulled a “romantic” fake death stunt like Luca did with Pato way at the beginning. This is Osorio’s way of telling us that Anya and Pedro are endgame. Well, at least this one doesn’t snivel so much, that’s (slight) progress, Pedrito!

Back at the hospital, CVV cries for Ricardo in the bathroom while changing from her blood-splattered wedding dress. Esperanza cries for Ricardo in the waiting room while lamenting the fact that God extended her life only to have her witness Ric’s death. Juaréver. Later, CVV demands explanations: How did Esperanza know what Kracy intended to do? Did she use this as an excuse to interrupt Cristardo's wedding? Esperanza defends herself: It wasn't never her intention to interrupt the nuptials of the century! Kracy called and threatened her! Esperanza phoned Ricardolt and Blondezilla to warn them but neither answered her calls! Margarita and Félix witness the heated exchange of the love rivals from afar. The angst of these poor but idiotic women moves Félix. Margarita says that both Esperanza and CVV love Ricardo with all their might and are prepared to give their lives for him. And what about Ricardo? wonders Félix. That’s a good question but all bets are off right now and nobody knows whether Ricardo will marry CVV after Esperanza demonstrated that she is ready to give her life for him. Félix doesn’t want to be a bird of ill omen (ser ave de mal agüero) but all this malarkey is irrelevant if Ricardo doesn’t make it. “He will survive, Félix! That man is indestructible!” proclaims Márgara, who has always secretly wished she could get a piece of that.

At the hospital cafeteria, PatoLuca and the two people who were obsessed with them not so long ago, Anarasmo (Anastasia + Erasmo) discuss Ernesto's tragic situation with the nearly-defunct Lukidney. Saint Anastasia offers to donate her kidney to Ernesto because she can’t permit that her son’s father die.

Anya and Pedro end their date in the hospital because Esperanza called to let her son know that she nearly killed herself for Ricardolt’s sake. The surgeon comes out to tell everyone that Ricardo’s operation was delicate because the bullet grazed (rozar) a lung. The medical team did what they could but Ricardo’s state is a matter of grave concern. He’ll be transferred to intensive care and the next 24 hours will be critical. Basically, it’s your usual TN diagnosis: He might die but he’ll make it in the end, by the grace of God and La Virgen de la Paz (who was present at the wedding, by the way, and did nothing to stop Tiroloco Kracy). After receiving the prognosis, CVV asks Esperanza to kindly get the heck out of the hospital. Thanks for everything but please scram. Viviana calls Esperanza, learns the news and sends the driver to get her new BFF from the hospital. She offers Esperanza a warm cup of tea and a friendly shoulder to cry on.

In a crummy motel somewhere, Kracy berates her Kracy self in the mirror for warning Esperanza. However, she has every faith that Ricardolt won’t make it this time.

At the hospital, CVV reassures her brood that their father/ stepfather is going to be just fine. The kids go home with Andrés, the nanny.

At Casa Conde/Kuri, Viviana receives Esperanza and they both learn from Anya and Pedro that the two youngsters are casi-novios, almost dating.

At the hospital, CVV thanks Márgara, her “great friend”, her “only friend” for all her support.

Kracy calls the hospital using the name Triana Alegría to get an update on the state of her “brother”, Ricardo Alegría. She learns that he is still alive but in intensive care. She writes the names of Esperanza, Cristina and Ernesto in her notebook of upcoming murder victims.

Anarasmo and Baby Luca visit Ernesto at home. Anastasia offers Ernesto her kidney. She also tells him that she did the donor compatibility test while they were at the hospital. Why were they at the hospital? asks Ernesto. They tell him about the Kracy shenanigans that landed Ricardolt in the intensive care unit.

CVV visits her casi-marido, her almost husband, in the intensive care unit. She is in sterile garments but she takes off her mask so we can see her perfectly painted lips to fully appreciate her aesthetic crying. My love, I need you!”, she whimpers. In his delirium, Ricardo asks about his children then he says Esperanza's name repeatedly.

Looneyvision forcefully squeezed in the following scenes from MEX Episode #115. Thank you, Jarifa! Pox on you, LooneyV!

Summary of MEX #115, by Recapper Jarifa

Viviana asks Esperanza what she plans on doing now that the wedding was cancelled between Ricardo and Cristina. Esperanza looks like she has to think on that one.

The nurse in Ricardo's room sends Cristina home until 9:00 tomorrow morning. She kisses him goodbye reminding him of the future and how they all need him.

Pato and Luca are talking about the timetable for Ernesto's surgery if he does get a kidney from Anastasia and how they want to have the wedding before his transplant operation to help cheer him up. Since the prep and recovery will probably take a month or more the wedding will be happening very soon. The answer is a wedding planner. The next thing is how, when, where are they going to tell Esperanza and what are they going to do if she does not give them her blessing.

Esperanza is at Ernesto's telling him how Ricardo protected her and how he is in intensive care. Tracy should be happy that she wounded Ricardo because the wedding ceremony never finished. Ernesto looks bad and is in a strange mood talking about how much it has hurt losing her and how he told her his life would have no meaning without her. He has changed completely due to her. Esperanza insists she did nothing but become ill. No, Ernesto argues, she let him into her life. Esperanza counters with now he has to let her into his. She knows he is suffering because Ricardo is her one true love but she loves Ernesto too and wants to be with him in his time of trouble. She does not want him to push her away. Ernesto gives her the good news of Anastasia maybe being able to donate a kidney to him. If it is compatible the surgery could happen in two to three weeks.

Félix is taking care of Cristina by making her some food and Margarita is taking care of the children so she does not have to worry about a thing.

Erasmo and Anastasia are enjoying an interlude in bed together when she asks him how he feels about her since she told him she loved him earlier. Wrong question: she wants him to move in with her so they can live together. Not so easy and not going to happen because he feels like they are just getting to know each other and he has the responsibility of his siblings. Also, he doesn't feel the same about her as she feels about him. Anastasia does not take that well and tells him to leave. She is left alone sobbing.

Back to Esperanza and Ernesto, where Ernesto is in bed and Esperanza is now taking care of him as he did her. She is not leaving and will be taking care of him until he is better. Then Ernesto goes all TWISTY on her (and us!!!): he was just thinking that if she were dead, then they could be together in "the great beyond: life after death". Esperanza looks concerned.

It is the next morning and Ricardo is conscious. He is in a little pain. It isn't the first time he has been shot. Cristina hasn't slept. The kids are with the nanny. As for Tracy's church attack, the kids did not see anything but they did hear Tracy threatening him.

Tracy is back in action calling Ciro the orderly for some assistance.

Anya stops by to visit Ricardo and take care of him and asks Cristina to leave for a moment. (She works in the oncology department with chemo and now does intensive care nursing??? What is wrong with this picture???) Anyway, Cristina leaves to get some coffee and then gets a call from Rodrigo while she is outside the room. When she goes back into the room to give Ricardo the call, she stops at the door which is ajar and hears Ricardo tell Anya to call Esperanza for him. She saved his life so he needs to talk to her. Cristina is not happy. She comes in to give Ricardo the call. The kids have a video call with Ricardo.

Tracy is packing up jewelry in a scarf thinking about how she hopes Ciro does not rat her out. She knows he always liked her. Suddenly there is a knock at the door and it is Ciro. He agrees to help her out and not testify against her in exchange for money and sex.

Ernesto is out of bed and has just met Pato and Luca at a condo that he is giving them as a wedding gift. It is the least he could do for his two kids.

Margarita is at the hospital talking with Cristina about the good news that Ricardo is being transferred to a regular room from intensive care. Cristina is worried about Esperanza coming. Cristina says she is feeling like a villain in all of this because Ricardo and Esperanza loved each other from way back. Margarita tells her she is no villain. Cristina says she feels like she is the villain because she is the only thing keeping them apart. Margarita says how was Cristina supposed to know what was going on. Cristina asks: does she have to ask for permission or apologize for loving Ricardo? Esperanza arrives on the scene. Esperanza says she is only there because Ricardo wants to speak to her. Cristina says she knows and apologizes for not being very subtle and for fighting for the man that returned her faith in love. She leaves the scene. Esperanza asks Margarita what was that about. Margarita says Cristina is very much in love and uncertainty is killing her. Margarita is going to go be with her and Esperanza can talk to Ricardo. Cristina talks to Margarita saying she could use a shot of tequila. With all of the tension, Margarita would join her in a shot. Just 24 hours ago,  Cristina was about to get married to the love of her life and now, 24 hours later, the love of her life is with another woman, the woman who saved him. Margarita reminds her how she, Cristina, risked her life trying to save everyone from that crazy Tracy. Does Ricardo know about that? Cristina is so very tired that she just wants to disappear.

Esperanza visits Ricardo. He asks why she came to the wedding. She tells him about the threat from Tracy and how she tried calling him and Cristina. She came to the wedding to save his life. They talk about having saved each other's lives so that makes them even. He wants to thank her in person. She showed that she loves him yesterday by demonstrating she was capable of giving her life for him. Now he can also tell her looking her in the eye that he forgives her. He is grateful that she was capable of giving her life for him and he forgives her for everything from the day that was going to be their wedding. Esperanza just cries.

A quote from the capítulo

“Dios me concedió seguir viviendo solamente para ser testigo de la muerte de Ricardo. ¡No puede ser!”

*Esperanza is being an ungrateful boob: “God granted me (the opportunity) to keep living only to be a witness of Ricardo’s death. This can’t be happening!” Technically, all her praying to be saved from cancer was for the sake of her children. There was no mention of a Ricardo Alegría Sandoval in the wording of the prayers. No complaints can be admitted and no refunds can be issued.

Hellow Amigowz! Hope all is well with you. Full disclosure: I haven't watched any episode since last Tuesday but thank goodness I read Pablo's recap from last night or else I would've recapped Episode 113 which had the same ending as Pablo's recap. I don't understand what is going on with Looneyvision or what was broadcasted to you yesterday (are they combining episodes by any chance?) but what happened after Ric got shot by Kracy aired as Episode 114 in Mexico. Please let me know whether there was something else shown last night, other than what I recapped. If they start combining episodes, God help me! I watch the Mexican broadcast online and I have no way of finding out about Looneyvision's creative editing beforehand.

Anyhoo, glad to be back with my Patio Pals. Thanks ever so much to Pablo for covering for me yesterday. You're a star! Many many thanks to Adriana for covering the past Fridays and to Jarifa for helping my fellow recappers hold the fort in my absence. You guys are the bestest! A heartfelt thank you to our faithful commenters Diana, Nina, Julia, Steve, Emeraldrose and any other commenters that popped in over my break to share their views and keep this patio lively. You are the greatest part (and the only good thing) about Sueñolandia! OK, there's Ernesto too but I feel that my mad crush on Julián Gil is shared only by Diana (and maybe a little Jarifa).

I haven't had a chance to read all the previous recaps and comments because I'm still away on holiday, but I feel the love and the kindness you send my way and I am ever so grateful! Forgive the silence but I'll be back to full immersion in Sueñolandia after September 1.

Much love and light to all! :)

Thank you very much.

As I was saying yesterday after watching the episode, the one they showed was the #115. I knew because it was the one assigned to me for "turd"sday. Thanks to my OCD I had to get to the bottom of this and I found out that For some reason, Loonyvision decided to make us a YUUUGE FAVOR and fastforward this for us. They combined episodes 112 and 113 to make monday's and 114 and 115 for tuesday.

I don't know if this count as a spoiler, but I have the list of the scenes we missed, that's why it was so suspicious that Salma prepared breakfast and has already one week of therapy with Mireya.

What's wrong with Loonyvision? Why are they doing this? Do they want to end the novela on friday and not have to show the 2 hour ending on sunday? Juaréver! I am glad is alomst over and this time I mean it, it is the last time I recap for osorio. Period. Don't matter if his novela is about el chapo de sinaloa or paquita la del barrio, jajaja!

Nandicta, I hope you are having a wonderful time. You've really been missed!

What a perfect screen shot! That baby is downright adorable. Your recap was absolutely sensational and the vocabulary greatly appreciated.

"That man is indestructible!” proclaims Márgara, who has always secretly wished she could get a piece of that" made me laugh out loud.

Others of many included "boiling cauldron of piping hot mess" and "She is in sterile garments but she takes off her mask so we can see her perfectly painted lips to fully appreciate her aesthetic crying". Excellent.

I can't watch in "real" time so I cannot comment about the possibility of whether or not they might be combining episodes.

So "Ricardolt" (heh, heh) lives. Shocker! Well, this is one way to bring things with Cris and Espe to a head.

"CVV replies that Esperanza saved Ricardo’s life but the blonde menace doesn’t look very happy or grateful that her love rival gets this huge credit". I might suspect she may be even more unhappy toward the end.

Can't decide if I should be happy or sad that I missed the kids singing and dancing. Kiko is one of my favorites so I guess I will just look forward to seeing the rerun. I detest the way Salma is treating him. I guess she has learned nothing.

Interesting development to have Anastasia offer her kidney (and for her to do the testing first). She is redeemed in my eyes. I wish she hadn't raised my hopes again for Espe and Ernesto. But, this story is so crazy, I count nothing out yet.

Yes Nandicta, Julian is simply dreamy (ugh - that makes me sound about 12). Seriously, I just loved him here. Look forward to your return!

Diana

Pablo, our comments crossed.

Thanks very much for the information. So Uni IS slicing and dicing with so little left? It defies logic.

Makes sense. They are cutting now, when the real action is occurring. Ack.

Diana

I laughed with "she (Margarititota) secretly wanted a piece of that" LOL!

Well... this recap doesn't match the episode I saw yesterday, and my question is, instead of saying last weeks, because there is actually only three weeks left (or less if they keep chopping this) they butcher it? What is the hurry?

Thanks, Nandicta, the recap was excellent. It looks like Univisión episodes are no longer matching the originals. It looks like Univisión has started its slice and dice heading towards maybe shortening the gran final to one hour? Just guessing. On Univisión yesterday, they cut the kiddie nightclub scene and Pedro with the toboggans and who knows what else from previous episodes since both you and Pablo were having a hard time matching content with episode number. They also went way beyond Ricardo in the hospital repeating Esperanza's name. That was basically at the commercial break at the first eighteen minutes of the episode.

Part 2: The rest of the Univisión episode:

Viviana asks Esperanza what she plans on doing now that the wedding was cancelled between Ricardo and Cristina. Esperanza looks like she has to think on that one.

The nurse in Ricardo's room sends Cristina home until 9:00 tomorrow morning. She kisses m goodbye reminding him of the future and how they all need him.

Then Ernesto goes all TWISTY on her(and us!!!) : he was just thinking that if she were dead, then they could be together in the "the great beyond: life after death". Esperanza looks concerned.

Part 3 will follow.

Yeah. This was thursday's episode.

Thanks Jarifa for filling in the blanks, because I am making a list and checking it twice, of all the scenes that ended on the editing room.

I don't understand why they did this, because I was in charge of all episodes ending in 5 and 0 and 130 was going to fall on thursday, so the grand finale was the only one not fitting in the 2 hour slot. México's 130 was showed on friday, then the special on sunday.

Why not show the finale unaltered on friday from 2 to 4, right?

Hi all. My head is spinning trying to keep track of what's what and don't envy you brilliant recappers who are doing such a splendid job keeping up with the narrative. I've been meaning to comment on last week's recaps...which were amazing. But am in something of a desperate lurch to find some kind of work and at 65....its a tough sell. At any rate, I'm finding some of the acting first-rate...and almost wish the novela had not had so much difficulty ratings-wise that it was moved to afternoons. We never get to see promos of the next day in the afternoons. The bedside scene between Ricardo and Esperanza was sublime. Just tears flowing quietly from Esperanza's eyes....being thanked and forgiven. Ricardo's recognition.
Whew.

Part 3

It is the next morning and Ricardo is conscious. He is in a little pain. It isn't the first time he has been shot. She hasn't slept. The kids are with the nanny. As for Tracy's church attack, the kids did not see anything but they did hear Tracy threatening him.

End of Univisión 114.

Sorry if there are any typos because I cannot go back and edit. What a mess!!! Anyway I will comment later.

I think this is actually Univisión 113. I am still doing whatever they put inside 115, LOL!

Jarifa, thank you so much for filling in everything that was cut. And, in your always fine style too!

Uh oh. "Then Ernesto goes all TWISTY on her(and us!!!) : he was just thinking that if she were dead, then they could be together in the "the great beyond: life after death". Esperanza looks concerned". Yes, I am too!!! Please, please writers don't go off the deep end (even more than you already are)!

Geez Erasmo. You fall for every woman in your path, yet, you couldn't fall for this one? Anastasia has turned into a kind woman (always a good mother to her son too). Please, please don't tell me they are going to resurrect Kristel. I have a bad feeling we've not seen the last of her.

So, things weren't bad enough. Rock bottom anyone??

Thanks again Jarifa.

Diana

Nandicta numbered her episode with 114: it should have been 113 to match Univisión. Monday was 112.

Jarifa, I just saw your last installment.

My jaw has dropped. Literally.

"Now he can also tell her looking her in the eye that he forgives her. He is grateful that she was capable of giving her life for him and he forgives her for everything from the day that was going to be their wedding. Esperanza just cries".

HE FORGIVES HER????? OMG. I can't. Even...

Now I am really praying that Ernesto gets that kidney and gets well. Esperanza, you dodged a bullet (in more ways than one). Run away and get on with your life. Let Cris have him...

Speechless...

Diana

Dona Felipe, good to see your comment.

I obviously didn't see the scene you mentioned, but it sounds as though it was very well acted. I liked both of these actors together initially but I like Betty Monroe with Ernesto too so she deserves much credit. As you can tell, I am done with Ricardo. I think him unbearably selfish...and insensitive.

I wish you the very best in your job search. Please keep the faith, something will come along. Will say a prayer for you today.

Diana

Pablo, Univisón cuts many of the two hour finales down to one hour and just slices and dices away so they do not have to show that extra hour. I cannot remember when I last saw a two hour finale in a block. Maybe my first novela PESE?

Diana, Ernesto looked sort of crazy talking about them both being dead together. I sure hope they are not going there with him either.

Dona Felipe, it is always good to hear from you when you have time to stop by. Wishing you the best of luck in your job search!

Well, they don't necessarily have to air the finales in one day, why not show it in two days?
Novelas never start on a monday anyway and then they are preempted so many times that those friday endings never match and you get the cliffhanger on a wednesday and such. God, what a mess!

You guys haven't heard the latest epic "smart" decision by Univisión and their team of geniuses. Looks like A Que No Me Dejas starts September 6th at 2PM/1C replacing Amor de Barrio.

-Jon

It always seems that Uni loses interest in its own novelas and wants to push them out of the door ASAP at the end to start something new. I wonder if Telemundo is the same?

Maybe they are still too long?

If they are incapable of making series, why not hybrids, somthing like a novela but with only 26 episodes?

Pablo, I agree that a hybrid would be perfect. I could be happy with something with even 60-70 episodes. I am currently watching El Príncipe(Spanish series but since I am watching the series 4 episodes a week in its entirety, it plays like a novela) which has a finite number of episodes since it had only two seasons (31 original not Unimás episodes) before being cancelled. It is tightly written with no subplot that does not support the main plot. I especially like knowing I won't be watching it forever.

Pablo, I finally had time to read all of the comments and give you your due credit in recognizing the episode numbering error far earlier than I did. : )

Someone here said that hospital scenes were depressing, so maybe Univisión decided to spare us from them and Ricardo, instead of being four days in the hospital will be only two!! Jaja!

See? They're thinking about us after all...

Let's play the blame game: It all started with Noelia, who switched the numbers and instead of 111, she wrote 101, LOL!

It was me! I would love less hospital/illness episodes! To think Univisión might have heard me! LOL

Pablo, I feel horrible for CVV, who's going to be stuck with the Silver.

Espi: I HATE YOU!

thanks to all the recappers for their dedication to this TN...can't wait for it to end....a couple of questions..I've noticed Krazy Trazy..has some scratches on her face...when did this happen...I guess I missed something somewhere...Another question..All of a sudden Salma is nice again and serving breakfast to the family.. what happened to change her ...Thanks in advance for those that can answer my questions.....Elsa

Thanks for the recap!

I unwittingly got pulled into this show when the actors shaved their heads. I was just fast forwarding thru to Julian Gil scenes but now I'm watching Ric and CVV too. Aye help me!

Anyhoodle, I'm thinking that since blondie, not CVV the other, is going to give Ernie a kidney and bec the guy she liked doesn't love her, that Ernie and blondie will end up together raising their child. Otherwise, why break up her and tall, dark guy?

I still don't understand how Pato and Luca aren't halfsies but since I ff thru their scenes I guess it doesn't matter.

One more thing, Ric is like FBI or CIA right? So did he not have one FBI friend at the wedding? Those guys always carry a gun, wedding or not. And why is he still working at the school if he is an agent? Arnie took less time by half to find out what he needed in Kindergarten Cop. Ohhh no need to answer. Just throwing questions to the wind.

Madam E!, Tracy has been in a lot of physical fights lately the last two being with with Anastasia and Cristina. Salma "seems" to be nicer after a week if therapy. Personally, I think it is a put on. Evidently in a cut scene she seems to be vacillating between the bad kids and the good kids.

Carvivlie, Luca is Ernesto's step son (his ex wife Viviana's son) whom he raised. Ricardo quit the super duper spy business so he is an EX agent so no security for him at the wedding. He is a full time teacher now.

Madame E!, thank you for popping in to talk with us and best of luck in your job search. I can only answer one of your questions since I'm behind on my episode-watching so I don't know what Salma is up to by serving breakfast to the family. I guess she is trying to get into their good graces after her brattiness and rudeness to her stepmother and stepbrother (and almost-babydaddy). As regards Kracy's scratches, they appeared when Ric visited her in jail, if my memory serves me right. My guess is that they were either self-inflicted or meted out to her by some tough inmate, a sort of a welcome beating. It was never specified how Kracy got her face scratched, as far as I can remember. Maybe another one of our Patio Pals can provide further details.

Carvivlie, thanks for joining the un-fun fun! It was a lot funner in the beginning, when the stoopidity was bearable! Tee hee!
You raise valid questions about Anastasia (blonde lady who offered Ernesto her kidney). She used to be Luca's ex but slept with his father, then went away to Italy at the behest of Luca's mother, Viviana, then came back, again at Viviana's behest in exchange of a bunch of money to separate Pato and Luca. She was obsessed with Luca and she was an accomplice of Kracy (beating her up to falsely accuse Ric of physically assaulting his ex to gain custody of the kids). Then, practically overnight, Anastasia gets a personality transplant and becomes the sweetest, kindest, most abnegated person ever! This show is the messiest hot mess ever! There are many inconsistencies in the backstories and behavior of everyone and most notably, in the main protagonists. We never knew why Tricky Ricky disappared and abandoned his one-true-love for 20 years, we don't know why or how he came back into her life. We don't understand how Espe, a woman who was dying of love for Ric, got married soon after his disappearance (with Pedro's dad) then after the latter passes away, she immediately falls in love with Ernesto, falls pregnant with Pato, discovers that Ernesto is married to Viviana. Espe breaks up with Ernesto, takes a vow of celibacy and raises her two kids on her own. Ernesto disappears and never asks about his child, yet he raises somebody else's child, Luca, a kid conceived as a result of Viviana's affair with Ernesto's best friend (Noone has ever known who Luca's bio father is. Luca knows Ernesto is his adoptive dad). This is the reason why Pato and Luca are not blood-relation, even though they share a father.

Ric used to be a secret super duper agent, a doozy of an incompetent agent, an utter loser who treated his subordinates like crap and who was absolutely aweful at his job. He quits his job as a super duper agent but continues telling everyone he meets that he is an ex-super duper agent. He becomes a self-appointed vigilante, beating up perps, breaking into people's houses without a warrant to investigate, locating disappeared, kidnapped and runaway children and teenagers. He fancies himself a Justiciero, an enforcer, an avenger, a people's hero, but really all he does is call Baxter, an ex-subordinate and have him risk his job to do Ricardolt favors. Baxter does all the work and Tricky Ricky gets all the credit, adulation and, in CVV's case, grateful nookie (he made Baxter find CVV's child and he got all the credit). And as your rightly pointed out, no law enforcement ex-colleague was invited to Ric's wedding, not even the faithful and ever-so reliable Baxter. Sorry about the verbose comment! Hope this answered your query. :)

Jarifa, thanks for answering Madame E!'s questions. I posted before updating the page.

Pablo, I completely agree with you about Osorio. I will never ever watch something by him again. I foreswore him after fastforwarding through 4/5 of MCET (basically I only watched the scenes where Silvia Navarro and/or Jorge Salinas were, except the kiddie songs and the celebrity cameos). Cris de la Fuente pulled me into this and I should've known better. He is charming and wonderful in good production, with a competent producer, a tightly-written script and a solid cast but he is not a good enough actor to carry Osorio-type nonsense. No more Osorio, even if the cast comes over to my house for tea after every episode! Never again!

By the way, I've been thinking about how much I'll miss this team of recapper and our fun delirium with these TNs. I have the perfect candidate for us to recap next. Something way better than this, an intentional comedy but the lovable doofus who produces novelas so exquisitely bad and clichéd that they become enjoyable masterpieces. It's "Las Amazonas" by Salvador "Chava" Mejía, who I affectionately call Chafa Mejía, the master of chafa novelas that become unintentional comedies. The cast of Las Amazonas is pretty much the same as "La Madrastra" and it includes elements of "Fuego En La Sangre" (I seem to have recognized the famous FELS cave in one of the promos of Las Amazonas). If you add in the ranch sceneries, the beautiful horses and, I'm hoping, the great music (Chafa Mejía is good with soundtracks), then we'll be in for a fun ride. There is no word on when it'll air on Looneyvision but it has already aired in Mexico and it's only 70-something episodes.

Jon, thanks for letting us know about AQNMD. The audience has been petitioning Looneyvision for nearly two years to broadcast AQNMD, which had a lot of success in Mexico and they decide to show it at 2pm? Shaking my head to the point of dizziness!

Sorry I had to repost this and delete the comment I had posted previously because, in the bit addressed to Diana, a big chunk of my comment about Julián Gil was removed Lord knows why and the end result makes no sense whatsoever. Here goes the comment again:

Hey amigowz! Cheers for stopping by to leave your impressions. A huge thanks to Jarifa for providing a recap of MEX #115, I added it at the end of the recap.

I suggest to my fellow recappers that we label our recaps with the episode number of the US broadcast as well as the episode number of the Mexican broadcast for ease of reference by future readers. If Looneyvision continues smushing two episodes together into 42 minutes, then I have no choice but to do some "creative" editing of my own and summarize two episodes on the fly (I have no way of watching the US broadcast since I live in Africa and follow the Mexican broadcast online).

Diana, thank you, my lovely! I missed your comments, your great insights and your way with words! I think you and I, along with Julia and the much-missed Tofie are Ricardo's staunchest detractors! I can't take credit for "Ricardolt", it's Julia who came up with it, along with "Rickety Rick". Tofie is the intellectual author of "Tricky Ricky". (This is the bit that got removed from my comment. I can't remember exactly what said, but I'll try to recreate it here). Don't embarrassed for raining praise and admiration on Julián Gil. Swoon away my friend and I'll swoon right along with you! I first saw him in "Sortilegio" and LQNPA. I liked his work as an actor and admired his chamaleonic qualities both in his performances and the visual identity he gives his characters. However, I never felt attracted to him. He is an attractive man but he never registered with me. For some strange reason, I'm not attracted to blonds, strictly speaking of physical appearance. I appreciate and acknowledge blond beauty pero no me mueve la aguja, but it doesn't move my needle, so to speak. I had blond exes but I was attracted by a whole packet of attributes and personality traits, not just physical appearance. Anyhoo, this is all to say that I don't understand what happened to me with Julián Gil in this clunker. Is it because he dyed his hair darker at the beginning of the show? Is it because he was the only good thing about this heap of stinking manure (along with Betty Monroe)? I can't tell but now I have a major crush on him! I also have a treat for you and all of Julián's groupies on the finale! Stay tuned, amiga! ;)

I don't know if you are familiar with TALK SOUP, later remade into THE SOUP. Well, E! has its own mexican version and is hilarious! The thing is that in the latest episode they said that some novela got cancelled and Televisa had to start showing ROSA DE GUADALUPE back to back to fill the void the novela left. Thankyou Pink of the Lupe, you're life saver, here they also used it as a filler when they moved Pesadilla to the 3pm slot 2 central.

And btw, starts in 8 minutes, bye!

Pink of the Lupe! Aaaahahahaha!

Hello, Dona Felipa! Sorry, I got confused earlier and wished Madame E good luck with the job search when that should've actually been addressed to you. Sending good vibes your way and willing with all my heart that things work out well for you. Thanks for mentioning the scene between Espe and Ric. I haven't had a chance to see it but I look forward to it.

Hiya, Steve! I'm glad that CVV has an avid supporter in you! I'm not a fan, personally, but I still think she can do way better than Ricardolt!

Sorry about typo: I meant *An unintentional comedy by lovable doofus

Thanks Jarifa and Nandicta! This show is a mess, that's why I refused to watch it when it started but at least if I had to be pulled in, it was near the end. I give you poor folks credit for sticking with it!

Ooooh, a Julian treat?!

Can't wait!

Nandicta, actually, truth be told, I didn't care for him at all...I have seen him several times and I'd shrug and curl my lip (not really, but he registered0 on the "hawtness" scale.

I'm not sure what happened here. His "luke" was great but he is a terrific lead and totally believable as a good guy. I simply swoon now. What is sexier than a kind, loving man that puts the person he loves above all else? Nothing I can think of and he nailed it here. What a sweet expression he can wear. I've not seen it before but then he's always been a villain.

Thank you again for all your care...

Diana

And Julian Gil is also very professional. He actually looks sick, not like Espy, that supposedly has no stomach and looks better than before she had cancer...

Thank you everyone for all the recaps and comments! I keep thinking I'll tune in one of these days to find out how hot Ernesto has gotten and see Anastasia's hard-to-believe transformation with my own eyes, but so far have somehow not found the time.

Sounds like Ricardolt still hasn't turned into a real galán! He's running out of time. I want the glorious ending to involve Baxter coming out of the shadows, getting all the credit, and living happily ever after in whatever way he chooses. And could someone please change baby Luca's name? It's just wrong for him to have to share a name with his brother!

Hi Nandicta hope you're enjoying the remainder of your vacation. Now that baby is precious. But he's gonna grow up, and God help him. Now these grown
Up people. Well maybe there's hope. I was glad to see christyV wrestle the gun away, for awhile a least. I don't
See where espy saved his life, he wound up savin her and he still wound
Up getting shot. And christyV is feeling bad, I wouldn't, he almost got killed because of espy trying to help him. O Ricky what are you gonna do
With your women. Until he goes to christyV and say "I'm going back to
Espranza" she needs to stand by her man. Afterall espy kicked him to the curve. Yeah yeah because she didn't
Want him to suffer. Well all is forgiven. Now she needs to leave him alone.

I like anastasia. She's even prettier
As a nice person.
I don't like pato. She's loud and opinionated. But Luca loves this child. A childbride she will be.
Is Ernesto gonna stay goody good after
The kidney transplant? A lot of loose ends to tie up.

OK thanks Nandicta, and you guys that filled in the gaps. Uni is having fun Choppin up this show. A whole episode
Was left out. How could they? :-)

They did that again today combining two episodes into one.
At this rate, instead of three weeks left, maybe the novela is ENDING THIS FRIDAY!!!

Now wouldn't be great?
