Gonzalo: La rata con dos patas A que no me Dejas 10/18/2016

*Rata con dos patas comes from Mexican singer Paquita La Del Barrio and is basically a way of calling a man a rat, and guys, Gonzalo has earned this nickname a thousand times over*
Paulina:
·
Paulina asks Monica to allow her to continue to have contact with Rene and Alan, after all it is not their fault that she and Gonzalo had an affair, Pau tells Monica she loves her brothers  and Monica tells her she will speak to Gonzalo about allowing Pau to see the boys.
·         Paulina tells her brothers that she loves them and will always be there for them.
·         Monica wants nothing to do with Paulina but Elisa tells her it would be a good idea to have her in their corner, that way they can get inside information on the Murat marriage, Elisa volunteers to be the one making contact with Paulina.
·         Gonzalo tries to get Leonel to break things off with Nuria, he says he will be very generous with him if he dumps the harpy but Leonel refuses, he tells Gonzalo he loves Nuria and that he does not take orders from anyone when it comes to his private life.

·         Gonzalo goes nuts, Alfonso arrives and Leo gets to make an escape but he is a lurker amnd gets to hear the following:
*Gonzalo laments that both his daughters have disappointed him by getting involved with losers from a lower social circle. He believes that Nuria will never be able to replace him and take the reigns of the hotels because she’s a good for nothing woman and will get bored with work soon enough, and he has no intention of leaving his riches to that errand boy Leonel. This is when Alfonso reminds him that he has two male heirs, they can assume control of everything when they grow up because they are men! Gonzo loves this idea, yes, his boys will run everything and Leo will never be anything more than his *gato*, also known as the help or errand boy. Leo hears everything and sets about getting revenge*

The Bridezilla:

Nuria goes to visit her dad, she wants to reserve the best ball room in the hotel to host her wedding reception. Gonzalo tells her to talk to the person in charge of special events, but that if her wedding causes problems for the hotel she will have to change the date, Nuria objects to this. Gonzalo gets a call from his attorney, it turns out that social services will be visiting the Murat household, if everything goes well they will be able to adopt Mauricio. Nuria goes nuts, she tells him that she does not want the deaf boy to have her last name and the rights to money that should be coming to her. Gonzalo sets her straight (1) he objects to her calling Mauro the deaf boy (2) there is plenty of money to go around, Nuria does not back down, she insists that she has more rights and deserves more of the pie, Gonzalo finally has enough and screams “listen you brat, the money is mine, I can do whatever I want with it, do you understand that you little brat?”

Nuria leaves and goes on to torture the office staff, she demands that the hotel chef come up with the best food for her reception, she also wants the best flowers and demands that the best dress maker come to town to work on her dress, everything must be elegant. Her victims have had enough and one of them quips “is it elegant to have a wedding in 30 days?”- Nuria is not amusued but her day is about to get a lot worse.

Leo rats on Gonzalo and tells Nuria that her father has another family and two sons whom he will groom to take over the company, and he and Nuria are gonna get zero control. He tells Nuria he has known of Gonzalo’s affair for a long time but he was paid to follow orders and it was not his place to disclose this information, but now that they are getting married he feels it’s high time she knew this. He also says that Paulina has known for “ a long time” about the affair.

Gonzalo:
The rat goes to Monica’s home and takes the boys out to lunch, and proceeds to buy their loyalty, he tells them he is a very rich man and that when they grow up they will take over the Murat fortune, they will be millionaires and the world will be at their feet. The boys wonder what will happen to their sisters and Gonzalo says that the girls will get enough money to live like princesses. I’m betting the boys will have issues later in life due to this.

Monica:
So the Hulu transition to this scene was really odd but next thing I see is Nuria slapping Monica, the two women go at each other while Nuria screams that her brothers ARE NEVER going to get any of her fathers money, because that belongs to her! He calls the boys bastards and Monica corrects her- the children have Gonzalo’s last name and they have the same rights as Nuria. Nuria goes in to attack Monica again but mama Elisa gets in front of her and tells her that she will not allow her to speak to her daughter that way, Monica may have had an affair with Gonzalo but the one acting like a common street walker is Nuria, and it is clear that money really can’t buy class. Nuria leaves but threatens the boys!

The kids come home and tell grandma that someday they will be rich and runs their fathers company “so you bought them Gonzalo…I’m not going to let you hurt them the way you hurt my daughter”- this will be important later.
·         Karen and Paulina make up and Karen makes Pau understand how important it is to tell Adrian that she’s pregnant, Paulina goes to see Adrian but Oddette gets in the way, she tells Paulina that she and Adrian are together and will be leaving to Spain, and refuses to let Paulina see him, Pau leaves.
·         Camilo gets Paulina the information to someone that might be able to hire her part time, he’s such  good egg!
·         Raquel and Ines talk, Raquel will help plan Nuria’s wedding, and will go with Ines to a doctors appointment because it looks like she might have some sort of heart problem.
Now for the bombshell of the episode:

Elisa takes it upon herself to visit Ines, and she tells her EVERYTHING. She explains that Gonzalo has had an affair with Monica for years and that they have two children. Ines can’t figure out why Elisa would want to hurt her with these lies. In my opinion this is so very cruel, Ines ios a victim off both Gonzalo and Monica, it is in no way fair to her to have Elisa come to her home and give her the news. Who wants to see what Gonzalo will do to Elisa for telling Ines the truth?

Thanks so much, Juju! What an episode!

Gonzo takes the prize for biggest sexist jerk this episode, but Nuria and Elisa tie for most cruel and depraved. Nuria for threatening the life of children, and Elisa for the way she verbally and emotionally attacked innocent victim Inez. Ugh!

Thanks princess, good recap.

Gonzo had the Nerve to actually say outloud that his daughters are in love with loosers, and he's "The biggest looser"of them all. Him and leo.
Adrian is just misinformed. And I wish they'd
Let him get informed.there ain't nothin blissy
About ignorance.
I wish elisa hadn't said anything to inez, but
This wasn't going end well anyway you look
At it and right now inez is suffering because of Monica and gonzo stupid selfishness, and the kids are suffering, what a mess. That's
Right Ugh! Vivi.

Thank you, Princess Juju! And thank you, Nandicta for yesterday's recap! Hope everything goes well with your move!

Elisa takes the cake this episode. We knew Nuria was a piece of work, we knew how far she would go, especially when kids are concerned (God help her own child) but Elisa, wow, she rubbed it in Ines' face even when she saw her Ines go pale and her breathing become ragged. She did it purely out of spite this time and in her own self interest.

I hope he gives his kids control over the hotels and then they run it into the ground and ruin his retirement. He deserves no peace, ever.

Gracias, Juju!

Here is Paquita's great song with the lyrics. And Gonzalo does fit the description, especially because of the sexism.

Makes me wonder which came first, his sexism or Nuria's laziness about learning anything.

However, Nuria and Elisa had no right doing what they did. Nor did Odette The Odious.

I'm sure he's always been sexist. That didn't stop Paulina from working hard. Nuria is just lazy, period.

Thank you, Princess Juju! This was a very enjoyable read! I liked how you compartmentalized the madness by character and your description of The Gonz as a "rata de dos patas", though I think rats might object to this comparison.

"Nuria will never be able to replace him and take the reigns of the hotels because she’s a good for nothing woman" Nuria can't be trusted with anything because she's a good for nothing, full stop! What's gender got to do with it? A fitting punishment for Gonzalo would be to have his boys turn out to be good-for-nothings and his only salvation would be Paulina. I would also like Leonel, the "gato" he despises so much to steal his hotel from him or something. Gonzalo is such an arrogant insufferable sexist lying cheating piece of garbage, I can't wait for the day life knocks him down real hard!

Thanks again, Juju! Good day, all! :)

Reading the comments, I noticed that Alfredo and I wished the same fate on The Gonz, useless boys that drive his business to bankruptcy.

Vivi and Urban, I agree that Nuria is the worst and you know that Odious Odette is the character I have hated most in the past couple of years but I must play devil advocate for Elisa. As Nina said, her barging into Casa Murat like that to spill the beans to Inés in that fashion was ill-advised but Inés was bound to find out at some point and her fragile health would've made the impact of the news a lot more powerful. However, Elisa had just witnessed a violent out-of-control wench threatening her daughter and her grandchildren. Her reaction was precipitated but Nuria went too far with her threats to harm René and Alan.

I'm with Nandicta (even though I still can't get Uni on the tv or internet- so thanks for all the recaps until I can get caught up). Elisa may have crossed a personal boundary by butting into her daughter's affair (literally). But her reasoning is that she's done seeing her daughter be this guys doormat and watching how it negatively affects the boys. Her intentions aren't nefarious, unlike Nuria and Odette. Not sure what was up with her selling the house, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now.

Kelly

ps. Does Hulu have all these Uni and Telemundo shows on the day they air?
