Vino el Amor, Ep 57 Discussion Page 1/19/17

This is for discussion of last night's episode.  The main events:

-- Confrontation between Brian and Lillian after she saw him kissing Marta in the main room of the mansion
-- Lillian fires Sonia after seeing her in her room talking with Marta.
-- Sonia is getting insecure about her relationship with Leon
-- Brian leads a police team investigating illegals.  They pay a visit to Adolfo, then to David.
-- Ingrid almost got caught by Juan and Perla, whose voices she recognized.

Please provide other details.  Gracias.

Thank you UA!

I don't remember too many things that stood out last night - one night's events seem to meld into the next the majority of the time.

I do recall Lili was livid at seeing Brian and Marta kiss and of course, the one thing that came to mind was a woman scorned. Lili's anger did not surprise me, but Brian's attitude continues to confound. He defended himself but seems strangely oblivious to the fact Lili will likely want a pound of flesh for her perceived slights.

Poor Ingrid! Of course I didn't understand Juan and Perla's conversation but she had a very, very close call. And Leon is so invested in Ingrid, he basically blew off Sonia when she tried to speak with him.

So Sonia was fired but is still in the house (?)

The thing most telling in this whole ep was when Lillian was in a rage about Marta and sharing a glass of wine with DisGrace on the patio: she said if she could not get rid on Marta she would KILL HER, to ominous music and a quizzical look from her live daughter.

Why does David keep Lillian around? She has such a negative attitude and is totally disinterested in the kids. Plus, she doesn't work inside the house or in the vineyard. What does she add to the family (besides provide a ready source of conflict).

David seems too laid back to be a vineyard owner. In addition to Lillian, he lets Juan do almost anything. After the fiasco with the pesticide contamination of the workers, Juan was supposed to be supervised by Susan and Miguel. That seems to have been ignored.

I agree.

David should send Lillian packing. She is overwhelmingly negative and very few people have the courage to complain about it. David might need to be nagged about this by Marta, Luciana, and Leon before taking action, but none of them are doing this. Heretofore Lillian has been clever enough to avoid the risk of being overheard but that doesn't usually last. The fact that this series has been extended has me worried.

That Juan is still around bothers me, too; you all know my reasons.

Granted the Lil-Sonia-Marta confrontations were tops, but let's not forget the David-Luci-Miguel confrontation. Yeah, what else is new. Basically, though, she told both guys off who were trying to one-upman-each other, to stop acting like rutting rams over the only ewe in the pasture.

Oh, we also saw Erika scolding her dad for having taken on illegals in the vineyard, but not getting their papers arranged. I'm not sure what this means, if they are illegal, how can anyone get their papers in order. Can any employer just say they need work permits for 10 or 15 workers and not have anyone raise an eyebrow?

Oh, Juan managed to stay "clean" after he was questioned by the authorities, by providing a list of all their employees. He was relieved that Gut gave him a wink and a pass and I noticed Gut did not keep the list.

Ramon and Tano have another discussion about his breakup with Susan. Tano says he just can't sit by and watch that pervert mess with Susan, whether he's with her or not. Ramon says to forget her, some other little dish will come along and steal his heart some day (although he didn't quite say it like that).

Leon took Ingrid up to the women's dormitory bathroom to take a bath and promised not to let anyone in. He would stand guard. Trouble is, Carito decided to come take a rest between work sessions and was surprised to find Leon barring the door. He half persuades her he heard a rat in there and goes in to check it out, suprising poor Ingrid in a state of undress--he turns away and says he didn't see anything. She says it's ok now. Meanwhile, Carito is banging on the door and Leon is yelling that the rat is bigger than he thought.

Yeah Lillian the Bitch from hell fired Sonia, but I'd bet it doesn't stick. Sonia brought Dim Bulb Dave his coffee and was in the process of telling him it would be the last she served him because......next scene. Of course.

Thanks, Urban and everybody.

David looked so cute when he peeked up from his desk and asked Sonia what was wrong with her. I suspect her firing by Lilian, like all the other firings at the vineyard, won't take.

What was maddening is that Ingrid tried to tell Lion Cub what she had heard, (NoJuan and Hurla (trafficers)) but LC could not believe that anyone from their vineyard could possibly be involved in that and told her she was hearing things.

I can't think of anything that hasn't already been mentioned. Thanks for posting this, Urban.

Let's face it..Nobody ever really leaves the vineyard of hell for long.

Hmmm...What can I add to the group recap effort. Well, DImDAve is back to wearing a vest. Miguel has decided to mix it up a bit and was wearing plaid with short sleeves..Trendsetter.

How old is Ingrid supposed to be? I thought that she looked like preteen...Too young for Leon.

Lilian is bitter bitter bitter. Sucks to be you, Lilian. Revenge is not that sweet. Get a hobby.

I do not know what Gut is thinking. He can not possibly believe that Marta will never discover that he had her hubby and daughter deported. Either Luci or Lilian will let that cat out of the bag.

And Dim Bulb Dave needs to call that GD Lillian in and put her on a short leash, like 2 millimeters, and let her know in no uncertain terms that she is one FU from living somewhere else, and if she does not believe him she is welcome to find out.

He needs to let everyone know that it is his signature on the checks and he hires and fires, no one else. PERIOD.

Even counting the invisible employees we hardly or never see, he may have two or three dozen, max. That is a small department in most organizations, manageable by one person easily.

If you have spent your life under a rock and also do believe pigs fly, this show makes sense.

For me, not so much.............

Oh Sue, Luci finally told the two dueling chihuachua's to knock it off, she is tired of them fighting over her. She directed it mostly at Miggy the slobberhound and...wait for it...wait for it...STOMPED OFF.

I think she likes stomping off because it makes her butt shake.

Sorry Anita I didn't see your Rams and Ewe till I had already posted.

Kirby: Ingrid will NOT make it alive once Juan & Perla catch her!

I am afraid you are right Steve. Legally Leon is at great risk for NOT turning her in. Mostly because she could be the key to a big bust rather than simply because she does not have "papers".

The recap tonight kinda reminds me of the new self checkouts at Wal Mart.

Quick, but somehow just not the same.

I was going to say that seeing or knowing that Juan/Mark/Coy killed Ingrid might turn Perla against NoJuan, but on second thought, she sees any other female as mating competition, so she would probably not care.

Steve do you think Lillian, possibly with the help of DisGracie, will actively start plotting the murder of Marta?

It appears that Lillian's hate is causing her to begin to come unhinged, per dropping the glass on the patio, screaming at Sonia, and physically attacking Gutty in uniform in front of witnesses.
In a non-flying-pig universe that bitch would be UNDER the jail.

Kirby...nice analogy, and I completely agree. I never use those self checkouts.

I do not understand much Spanish , so I mostly get the visual , and I cannot be a great help. I was slightly fascinated by the stare down between guaypos Gut and Juan. DumbJuan is doomed , but I have a feeling that Gut may be redeemed somehow. Is Gut supposed to be a sergeant?

I hate Mark. Egotistical and stupid..a very dangerous combination...as also applies to real life.

As Julie said, I too can't think of anything to add, except thanks for the recap UA. It was enjoyable although the episode - not so much.
Helen

I was out at a film so the recap for tonight's episode will be delayed. I'll work on it in the morning and hope to have it posted during lunch.

RIF says thanks for a wonderful recap that was sooo great, then later UA says she will write that wonderfullll recap maybe tomorrow. Was I caught in a menopause time warp?
