Vino el Amor, Lunes 01/23/17 Chapter 59: Stomping on Hearts

Luciana and David accidentally join hands in the vineyard and exchange their familiar Longing Looks.

Juan was watching a news report on his computer about the investigation into El Coyote. He called Mark to warn him.

Luciana confronted Miguel about Erika's intentions. She said she had no problem with him being friends with Erika but anything else is another matter. This really bothered her.

César came to the fermentation plant to see Susan. He wanted to help her and she repeatedly told him to stay out of it. Tano overheard their disagreement on this and warned César that this won't go anywhere.

Luciana and her family set up for the party to celebrate her work visa. Luciana mistakenly thought that Fernanda would be nice if not for her grandmother and aunt; Marta did not agree.

Gracie was in San Francisco with Josélo, discussing business over lunch (or whatever; it still involved wine). She showed him photos of her recent messterpieces. He told her in no uncertain terms that she needed to fill the gallery and that they were going there ASAP.

Bobby brought his friend Charlie to Luciana's party and introduced him to Luciana. Gernanda arrived in a white maxi-dress [like those in Cuando Me Enamoro] and demanded to know why she was expected to stomp on grapes. Luciana explained that this was so she could feel closer to her dad (in the sense of appreciation for the land and its crop) but Fernanda accused her of wanting to keep her and her dad apart and shouted that this isn't going to happen. Of course, this caused everyone else to stop what they were doing and stare.

Gracie was looking to get this matter over with ASAP but Josélo was concerned about her attitude. He was obviously getting a bad vibe. She tried to tell him he couldn't rush her artistic process and he said he was going to talk to David about leaving her to her art so she could concentrate on it. She needed to give it her first priority. [This man is so clueless about women like her that he deserves whatever happens to him at this point.]

David asked Fernanda where she got these foolish notions. She shouted that Luciana was always looking to keep her out of the way of getting to him. Luciana told her she didn't have to stomp on grapes and that she didn't intend any such thing. She tried explaining that she intended for Fernanda to show her appreciation of her future inheritance; she had no ulterior motives. Miguel and Marta backed her up. Fernanda was silenced only long enough to León to arrive and say “Hey, this is a party; let's not have arguments” and to persuade Luciana to get back to the fun. David backed him up. Fernanda sarcastically replied, “Well, then you can stay for the party” and walked away in a snit. David was displeased with her attitude, but did not fall into the trap by following her.
Sadly, Tano did, although he asked her what this behavior was all about.

Gracie tried playing dumb about Josélo's attitude but he stood his ground about her concentrating on her art because of the opportunity this exhibition would give her. She didn't want him to upset David and ruin her family responsibilities. Josélo wanted her back with him full time, starting with that night. He told her he loved her [words he will eat later along with a side dish of crow] and she told him she loved him. However, she insisted she needed to be with her family and finish her paintings. He conceded but told her this was her last chance. He would be calling her later. If she fails to deliver, he will take it as a sign what she really thinks of him. [Place your bets now.]

Tano succeeded in shaming Fernanda by telling her that this was an honor. Without saying a word in reaction she went back to David, who told her she was to go back home now. He was fed up with her acting like a brat at a party with employees who work hard to do the harvest that leads to the wine that funds her spoiled lifestyle. She tried to protest but he wouldn't let her. He ordered her to apologize and go home and sit in the corner. She walked away without saying anything else. Marta started after her but David stopped her, saying that Fernanda needed to be alone to think about what she'd done. Bobby and his friend went off to play soccer, León went off to get Sonia (Miguel's assumption) and Miguel and Luciana went to join the party.
The two Mean Girls stood on the porch with Carito saying that “It figures that Luciana ruined the party.” [You'd think she'd be happy to be rid of a snobbish brat like Fernanda.] Miguel was a little upset about this latest incident but Luciana figured out that Fernanda was doing this at DisGracie's behest. “Don't worry about it, Miguel. She's always hated me.”
Fernanda stopped to talk to Tano, who told her she was better than this behavior. She went back to apologize to Luciana. David turned around and watched. The Mean Girls stopped to observe. Luciana thanked Fernanda, calling it a misunderstanding, and took her hand. Sad to report that David bought this hook, line, and sinker. He hugged his mosca muerta of a daughter whose victory smile he did not see. She told him she loved him and apologized to him as well. She excused herself and walked off.

León went to the wine cellar to Ingrid, who was reading. He encouraged her come to the vendimia with him. She wasn't so sure she'd get away with passing for another worker. [We're also not so sure.] León gave her a jacket and baseball cap and she walked out with him.

Fernanda was flirting with Tano, then called to David about the grapes. Miguel was satisfied that this situation looked resolved. Luciana told him that the Succubus was putting ideas into Fernanda's head and she was just trying to let her know what the reality was. This segued into another mention of Erika but no argument ensued. They went to the main party area an watched Fernanda climb into a grape vat to start stomping. She seemed to enjoy the applause from the others; one would think she was doing the Danceof the Seven Veils for Tano alone.
León and Ingrid arrived at the buffet table. She put up the hood of the jacket and this somehow caught the Mean Girls' eyes. They went over to the grass to sit down. Perla thought she recognized the girl, but Carito told her she had to be mistaken and she should just enjoy the party. Ingrid scarfed down at least two burgers and they went back for more while Bobby got everyone else to stop for a photo. After the first one Fernanda asked Tano to help her out of the vat. He picked her up, lifted her out, and kissed her while the others were distracted by looking at Bobby's camera for another shot.
Which did not last long enough for Fernanda to avoid being caught by her father. Tano quickly set her on her feet but she was saved by the arrival of Aunt Succubus. That lasted only a second because David made his displeasure very clear. Tano apologized and David told him that this better not have a repeat performance. Gracie tried to tell David he was misinterpreting this, Fernando said they hadn't done anything and Gracie backed her up. David ignored that and told Fernanda that they were going to talk later. He repeated that this was not to be repeated and Fernanda distracted him by saying how good it was that Aunt Succubus came in time. David and Tano walked away and the two vitches (Jr and Intermediate) smirked a combination of relief and victory at each other.
The two vitches sat on a bench and Fernanda thanked Gracie for getting there in time. She told her what happened and said it was worth the trouble.

Lillian met Adolfo in town for more wine and started talking about her disappointment in Gutiérrez. She said he was a racist and a hypocrite to get Adolfo to do her bidding in in the smear campaign. He told her to count on his help. She thanked him, saying there were no other men like him. He kissed her hand. It was obvious that he was interested in her in ways she was not in him. He talked about them traveling together and she said there were things she needed to do first. Seeing to her grandchildren [Now isn't that David's job?] and settling the matter of Guttierrez. They toasted over this.

Gracie helped Fernanda wash her feet [At least there were no purple stains on the dress] and listened to her talk about Tano being the love of her life. She reminded Fernanda that she was a bit young to be thinking this since there was still college ahead of her. In her usual calculated way she hid her usual snobbery as an investment in the future of using this girl for her own ends.

Perla was in the fermentation plant's office when Juan's cell rang. She answered it just as he entered and handed the phone to him. Juan must have been talking to Mark because he yelled about not caring whether El Coyote was angry. They couldn't handle any more immigrants right now. He would have to find other arrangements for the current ones. When he ended the call Perla was getting worried about this. She had come to the office to tell him she thought she saw the missing girl at the party. He dismissed this and told her to get back to the party. She argued that she saw the girl with León and he told her to get back there because he had more important things to do.

Susan arrived at the party and watched the dancing with a sad expression. David was dancing with Luciana, which annoyed Gracie despite it not being a closed-position dance. Tano walked away from the dancing to tell Fernanda he didn't want any problems with her father and all this happened right in front of Susan [who really should take another look at César or some other gentleman of appropriate age]. They went back to the dancing and lo and behold Sonia was also there. Luciana stepped out of the dance to encourage León to dance with Sonia, but he didn't seem too eager to. Sonia was trying to follow the steps, but seemed to have no sense of rhythm.
A game of soccer was proposed by Gracie and she saw to it that David and Luciana were on opposing teams while Fernanda and Tano were on the same one.

Later at the house Fernanda told her dad she had such a good time but he reminded her that they had a conversation pending. This wasn't just about Luciana, but about Tano. He reminded Fernanda that Tano was in love with Susan and had issues to resolve with her and he didn't want her getting in the middle of this. She protested that she and Tano were only friends, but David knew better. He didn't want her giving into a caprice. He told her he only wanted for her and Bobby to be happy. The look on her face said that she knew she couldn't manipulate her dad. He reminded her that she had behaved badly to Luciana. She was to learn to control herself. She would always be the most important woman in his life. [Words he will eat soon.]

Marta and her children had coffee together in the employees' building and they talked about Brian. Luciana couldn't wait to meet him to thank him for what he did for her. Marta confessed being in love with him; León said that made him happy. Luciana suggested she invite him to dinner. She volunteered to cook. They joked about whether she could.

Brian was on the phone about the immigrant operation. His phone started ringing as soon as he ended the previous call. The fallout has begun for him.

Ingrid expressed her fear to León and Miguel. León suggested that he introduce her to the lieutenant to make her statement. He and Miguel promised to back her up.

Lillian showed up at Brian's office just as he ended a call from Adolfo. She taunted him about his campaign and about what would happen when Marta learns the truth. Brian called her bluff, saying he was going to tell her tonight. Lillian trash-talked Marta for the nth time, adding that Brian would regret leaving a better woman like herself. [Again, despite all his sins, Brian can do so much better than Lillian.]

Juan told Mark [over the phone; gracias a Dios we didn't have to see his face] they needed to find another place for the immigrants because they had no more room. He looked like he would panic at any moment.

César went to see David, who noticed the butterfly bandage on his face. He commented on it, César did not explain, but told him that they had to find a way to help Susan.

Marta and Luciana didn't wait for Brian to come for dinner. They went to the station to see him. Luciana had a gift bag in hand. Lillian lurked in the corridor to wait for the bomb to explode. Marta entered the office first. He was surprised to see her so early. She told him “We didn't want to wait till later to thank you.”
We?”

When Luciana walked in and they faced each other she definitely recognized him.

Great retelling UA. Thanks

"messterpieces" perfect

Here's hoping Brian will help Ingrid, bust up the trafficking ring and stop the migrant exploitation. Not for Brian's sake but for Ingrid and the migrants.

So, Marta admitted at first she wanted Brian's attention just to stick it to Lilian but fell in love. Marta wasn't taken advantage of as I'm sure she'll indignantly spin.

I hate it when I become apathetic towards or dislike a character or characters, knowing that isn't the intent of the producers and actors. Luciana and Susan fall into that vat for me.

Stellar UA.

"familiar Longing Looks" and "he told her he loved her [words he will eat later along with a side dish of crow]" were among many favorites. Excellent screen shot.

There was no lack of action last night, was there?

I had hope for Fernanda. Hope that is continually dashed, and yet...The most disappointing event after her meltdown and put down of Luciana (yet again) was to see "Marta started after her". I understand Fernanda occupies a special place in Marta's heart, but this I did not fathom. She hurt Marta's daughter yet again but it is Fernanda that Marta cannot stand to see upset. She wants to run and tend to every little hurt. Every little wound. No wonder Fernanda is so spoiled rotten. At least David saw everything for what it was. And of course, he wants Fernanda to avoid Tano, who is still obviously in love with Susan and who likely considers Fernanda a pretty young girl, but nothing more.

Leon, Leon. You subjected Ingrid to possible discovery. Such a poor move. What were you thinking? Obviously, you were not thinking at all. If she had been closer, Perla certainly would have taken a closer look once her antenna was up.

I admittedly have no interest at all in the Graciela/Joselo story line. I'm not sure how much longer she can keep up the ruse that she is still painting. What has she done? One picture. She should drop the pretense and focus on what really matters - trying to win David, using his children for all they are worth.

tofie, I wish I liked Luciana more...I think most of us are disappointed at the way Susan's character has turned out when she seemed so smart and savvy initially.

"Sonia was trying to follow the steps, but seemed to have no sense of rhythm". No, she didn't but I had to smile as she certainly seemed intent on trying. Sad to say, she has likely "lost" Leon to Ingrid but I certainly hope and suspect there is someone for her. She (and we) deserve at least that.

I was surprised that I was a bit upset when Luci saw Brian. I had always vilified him but perhaps I was a bit harsh. I believe Niecie felt he was just doing his job and that fact she liked the character stayed with me (cause I respect her opinion). Now, he has lost everything. His campaign and most importantly, Marta's love. A very bad day for him indeed.

UA, this was great. Thank you!

Diana

I think we're all disappointed in what the writers are doing to Susan. However, it is very realistic for women in these situations to be afraid. She appears to have no family or friends outside of work, so she doesn't feel she has anyone to run to for help. She should be in a shelter. However, that won't protect her from Mark during working hours unless David had the appropriate security to keep him off his property.

If Cesar is not right for Susan he is right for Sonia, who is far above Leon in terms of education. She is bookish and refined and would make an excellent wife for a doctor.

Leon may be developing a hero complex in his need to rescue Ingrid who desperately needs someone's help right now. However, this could get him, Miguel, and David in big trouble. Trouble that Lillian might be able to use against him and to hell with Gracie's plans.

I can't warm to Brian. I'll give him having a thing for Lilian 20 years ago and doing her bidding but he was abusive towards the migrants (all of them) and that was because of his self hate. While he's come to terms with his ancestry, thanks to Marta, and I do think he is remorseful for what he was and did, he was sleeping with Lilian to further his career while pursuing Marta. I have no sympathy for a playa's arrogance and deserves his comeuppance.

Lets see. Luciana made David open the drapes and she plays with Bobby, WOW. Otherwise her contribution is keeping David and Miguel in orbit preparing for a cock fight. Oh, I don't like her laugh either.

Mildly surprised Susan didn't offer the tiniest of apologies to Cesar for taking a beatdown, instead he got her wrath for meddling.

Thanks, Urban. Terrific title and recap. She would always be the most important woman in his life. [Words he will eat soon.] -- Amen to that.

Diana, I've had sympathy for Brian because he grew up ashamed of his roots and ingratiated himself with Graciela because he viewed her as high class and a door to a higher post. I still think he can find redemption though, if he owns up to his past and doesn't make excuses to Marta and Luciana. And tells Lilian to hit the road. But Luciana is never going to lose that image of his foot on her father's head.

Beanie time. So Graciela has lots of "friends" who simply take her word that Brian is bad? Who's running against Brian anyway? Immigration is the No. 1 issue in wine country?

Lillian used Brian to hurt Marta and he's using her back. I think that's fair in this situation. However, Marta, Leon, and Luciana are going to suffer for this in more ways than one.

Susan is a deeply damaged soul. We know nothing of her backstory but she must suffer from some pretty low self-esteem to have married an abuser like Mark. I was so relieved he wasn't in this episode.

I envy dy77 for getting tonight's episode. The confrontation of Luciana and Brian should be stellar.

Cesar is way too serious for Sonia. She would get bored to death with him and he would never be able to handle her wacky personality. In fact I think she would scare the hell out of him.

Episode 60 is really good! I hope you all enjoy it!

I don't know Lisa. To be honest, I had thought but didn't say that Sonia might be suitable for Leon, so I agree with UA.

Sonia is quirky and is a breath of fresh air. She might loosen Cesar up. I suspect there might be a sense of humor lurking under his quiet persona.

Diana

Ack- I meant Cesar...

Diana

Thank you, UA (and thanks for adding mosca muerta to my still-fledgling Novelalandia dictionary).

When I wasn't marveling at Mar Contreras's ongoing whipped-puppy faces and Fernanda's dress managing to stay spotless even after she went all Godzilla on a vat of grapes, it occurred to me that at this point Fer's kind of like an ingénue version of Carito: the two things that keep her from being pulled completely to the dark side right now are her dad and Marta (and perhaps as of late this kinder, post-breakup Poodle Hair), but she's still in need of a visit from the Karma Fairy for her various acting-outs and screwing with Peter's emotions. Hopefully Peter is the Karma Fairy's designated representative in this case.

Perla and Carito possibly being on Ingrid's scent worries me. Ingrid could well be a redshirt in the face of the larger storyline, since (o hai) Mark absolutely strikes me as the kind of guy who would kill someone who seriously inconvenienced him--and it seems too soon for anybody to out him and Juan, let alone Perla and Carito, as being part of Illegals Inc. (That said, the news report about El Coyote and his "organization" was hilariously sledgehammery. The guy looks like the hobo cousin of Señora Acero's Indio Amaro and suddenly he's got an international organization?)

As for Gutierrez? Karma-wise, he--and we--needed this to happen, so I'm all for it. Since Lilian's finally able to let her villain/woman-scorned flag fly again, the one mitigating circumstance is if he admits that she was the one who tipped him off. Flip side, for his basically two-timing Marta for a while while courting Lil's favor, he deserves getting the taste smacked out of his mouth.

Thank you, Urban. I fell asleep and soon after this episode started, so I am especially grateful for your recap.

How old is INgrid supposed to be? I thought that she was a preteen..Too young for LEon. I think that LEon will end up with the hopefully romantic Sonia.

Sooo...GUt finally comes face to face with lUci.. Uhoh. Somehow, I think that GUt will save the day for the immigrants, discover Juan and Mark's dirty dealings (before Coyote kills them) ,and redeem himself. Hmmm will Marta forgive him, or will she turn to the good hombre who has been patiently waiting for her attention?

And remember, folks, no matter who is in your personal orbit, be grateful that none of these people are. I am. They make everyone in my life seem relatively normal ...Relatively.

"mosca muerta" was what the villain ramera rival called the leading lady ( Lucero)in "ALborada"

P.s. Many familiar faces have been missing from the recent telenovelas...Big Ed YAnez , Marcelo COrdoba, Alexandr Tomasi, Edith Gonzales. Have they all retired?

"Mildly surprised Susan didn't offer the tiniest of apologies to Cesar for taking a beatdown, instead he got her wrath for meddling."
Yup, surprised she didn't want in on the action, This victim s**t only goes so far. No matter what bad choices you have made, it is your responsibility to get yourself out of your predicament. Especially when so much help is available.
I'd love to whip Mark's a**. But SooSan chooses to be in her situation. It is OK for Dr. Cesar to get a face smashing, but little Tano can't sit in jail? Alone.

Oh..I did stay awake long enough to see shirtless Dave alone in the field with LUci as they grasped a bunch of grapes together. How does this vineyard survive with the owner moping and aimlessly wandering around . Farmers are always rushing around from one task to another. When they are shirtless , they are usually dirty and sweating profusely because they are working hard, not hardly working. Not a very realistuc depiction of life working the earth. ...The FArmer's Daughter

Edith Gonzales hasn't been on Televisa's payroll for a while, which is disappointing to me. I think that Camaleones was her last novela for Televisa before signing on at Azteca TV for three years. She did two for Telemundo of which the latest was Eva La Trailera. I miss her, too.

Eduardo Yanez has done three or four movies since Amores con Trampa, of which one has been released. Two are currently in post-production and the latest one just completed.

Marcelo Cordoba will be in Mujeres de Negro.

Susanlynn: I saw Luciana's MIC drop when she recognized Gutierrez's face last night. Those flashbacks when she & her father were deported came all the way back.

I'm predicting Marta will turn to Ramon, who's been there for the WHOLE TIME.

Kirby: FerBrat ranting & raving. I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to hit Luciana with a big rock if the 2 meet face-to-face.

Bill C: Susan is a WEAKLING & a PUNK!

Niecie: The Mean Girls Club: Perla & Carito having a ball!

Diana: Karma will be coming for FerBrat very SOON!

Urban--You gave us a true messterpiece with your recap last night. That's an instant classic in my book. Thank you.

tofie, had to laugh at your having Luciana and Susan "fall into that vat" for you. How fitting. Susan, though, feels caged. She doesn't want to see the possibilities for help surrounding her and when they offer, she rejects it. She's wearing her victimhood on her sleeve.

Nice observation, Kirby, regarding Susan not having any apology or sympathy for Cesar's bruises he took on her behalf, but can't abide having Tano sit in jail alone (well he did get a beat down of his own when those two bruisers were put in the cell with him).

But Luciana takes the cake. She literally RUNS over to David's side of the row of grapes just to hold hands and exchange "familiar Longing Looks." Then she turns around and tells Miguel that his seeming "friendship" with Erica bothers her. She knows what it is like to have feelings for two guys so it's ok for her to have them, but not Miguel. Hmmm.

Susanlynn--brilliant. Who knew there was going to be a way out for Gutierrez. Of course! He will protect the illegals, gain everyone's respect, wins his race (yeah, who is he running against--the opposition might be even better looking and more decent than he is), rats out Lilian and regains Marta's love.

My DVR cut off the last minute so I didn't get to see Luciana's face. Hope they show them over tonight.

Yeah, I'm sick of seeing these fellows running around out there with their shaved chests and no shirts too girls. So Cal weather is never as hot and miserable as here in So Fla, and in every scene it is blowing 20 knots out there.

I just don't know how overheated you can get going after a clump of grapes with your toenail clippers. Especially whichever one it was who took one slurp of Carita's water then had a mini shower with the rest of it.

In that sweltering heat, I am just thankful Luci and Suzi have not had to resort to traipsing around out there in their Victoria's Secrets.

We all know that shirtless men with great pecs, six-packs, and biceps are a novela staple served up for female viewers. I have no problem with that even when I know it can get cold in northern California. I have no doubt that some of the scenes of Miguel without a shirt are a test of his appeal as a future leading man. You read it here first.

What I do have a problem with is plot contrivances like having Tano in jail for something that doesn't justify it as a setup for a plot turn like this. The dumbing down of the female character who must by definition be the most educated one in the story is the most offensive thing the writers have done so far.

Thanks, Urban, for an action-packed recap of an action-packed episode that I missed. I'm sorry I didn't get to see the brat stomp on the grapes.

Bill, that's a good thought that hadn't occurred to me - that Brian might out Lilian as being the cause of Luci and dad's deportation. I doubt that would get him out of hot water with Luci, but it wouldn't do Lilian any good, and I'm all for that.

As for Marta's reaction, that remains to be seen. It's already been observed that Marta runs to comfort Fernanda when Luci is upset... so just because Luci blames this guy for breaking up her family and ruining her childhood, there's no guarantee that Marta will hold it against. Especially since he was good in bed.

At the beginning of this, I thought Susan was going to be a role model for Luci. Ouch, I couldn't have been more wrong. So far Susan has been a real disappointment.

Luci is a disappointment too, because she really does need a role model... unless we're supposed to find her lippy manner and inconsiderate behavior endearing. Which seems to be the case, since there's no indication that she will learn some humility any time soon.

One thing I give FerBrat credit for was not getting stains on that white dress. When I first saw dresses like that in CME I couldn't help but think that they would be nice as bridal wear for a beach, park, or garden wedding.

However....

Marta continues to coddle her and Bobby because she got used to doing so when David was depressed and therefore useless as a father. She still sees them as little children while she missed a lot of Luciana's growing up. Luciana was taken away from her as a girl probably just into puberty and she comes back as a fairly confident young adult with a college degree. She is almost a different person to her.

I thought that viewers were supposed to relate to and feel sorry for the leading lady. I used to when I first started watching telenovelas about nine years ago. Leading ladies used to have admirable character traits. However, I cannot relate to or feel sorry for Luci. I think it is a combination of the writers and the actress who did a fantastic job as a spoiled, entitled, snobbish beyotch who was verra jealous of her sister in PYP. Irina (Luci) seems much better suited to playing bad girls. She was a girl I loved to hate in PyP. Maybe the girl playing Erika should have played Luci and Irina should have played DisGracie.

And exactly why did we need Soosan in this tale? As for abusive guys, I , luckily have a verra sweet hubby, but I have a good friend and a relative who were married to creeps. It takes a long time for women to come to terms with the fact that the guys they fell in love with are creeps. These guys can mask their true selves for a long time from not only their wives but their wives' family and friends. It sometimes takes a long time to make the decision to leave. both Cesar and TAno wanted to protect and support Susan, but she has to make the decision not to let Marked control her. ..Friends and family can only be supportive. If I were a big, strong guy, I would have a hard time not punching Marked repeatedly..But that never works out the way you think it will. Calling the police and an attorney puts everything in record. Get a PFA order.

Urban, I agree with you about the way Marta sees Luci. Even when your kids grow up with you, it takes awhile to get used to viewing them as adults. As adults, they can have very different personalities than when they were children. Marta has basically raised Fer and Bobby , and she probably feels more like their mother than their nanny.

Julie: LOL on your comment regarding that Marta liked Gutierrez in bed.

His body language was saying, "Please kill me now!" when Luciana ripped into him & what's likely to be Marta going beast-mode on him too.

This is what happens when secrets & past actions (when he deported Luciana & her father) come to light 12+ years later.

Susanlynn: Was FerBrat stomping on the grapes ? I didn't see the scene considering she's got the Deborah Sanders gene.

She was stomping on the grapes with bare feet. The shot lasted about a second and a half.

UA: I'll be looking forward to seeing Marta going beast-mode on Gutierrez tonight!

Urban, fantastic recap. The explosion is tonite. Brian knew this was coming.
But lillian's joy is gonna come around and Take a big plug outta her snoby butt. I will smile when she gets hers. At least Brian was remorseful. This b..witch Feels nothing at all. Would not surprise me if it comes out that she murdered Fernando. That killing blood is in the genes. Look what succubus Jr. did to her sister. And ferbrat has that meanness in her. I'll
Be glad when she leaves for college. I
Will be glad when a lot of things get
To goin on this show.
I hope nobody get to Ingrid before she
Can spill on the bad people.
Man it sucks to be Brian. He was very nasty to marcos and Lucy. He had no regard whatsoever about the trauma he was inflicting on that little girl. Puttin his foot on his head, just
evil.
Ok thanks Urban.

I hope they show a full replay of Brian's takedown of Marta's husband. They haven't portrayed Brian as violent or trigger happy, so I don't know why he was so brutal. Does anybody remember?

Niecie..I cannot explain GUt's dramatic change from the guy who harassed and deported Luci and her dad with such satisfaction to a guy who falls hopelessly in love with Marta and defender of the weak. . Perhaps the writers decided to do a 360 on this character. Sometimes , I think the telenovela writers have started to do a stream of consciousness type of writing now that novelas have gone from the original average of 60 episodes to twice that many. How do the writers approach each episode?..Flip of a doing?...Dart board? ..Roulette wheel?

"doing?"...That was supposed to be "flip of a coin"

Niecie, I thought I recalled Brian as being rather ruthless to Luci and her father - all because of Lilian, who had him do it. But I agree with Susanlynn in that he seemed to mellow quite a bit, especially after he fell for Marta. I was wondering if I made it worse in my own mind.

I am also hoping to see some flashbacks...

Diana

Urban- I loved the picture leading into your great recap. Made me think of those great scenes in CME. The ending you described has me intrigued. I might have to actually watch the show tonight to finally see the fallout of Luci meeting Gut face to face after all these years. Marta being there makes it even juicier!

Thank you UA. I've been at work all day and busy with work stuff. You always do such a good job. Loved your reference to "messterpieces." That's definitely what it all adds up to.

I was watching last night with my husband. He was laughing at these guys without their shirts. Not one of these actors has hair on his chest. My husband and my sons all have hair on their chests. What's wrong with these guys?

Well, I knew this scene would be coming where Luciana finally meets up again face to face with Gutierrez. I knew it would not be a pretty sight and I'm sure Marta will never forgive him. I've always thought she would be much better off with Ramon. He is a nice gentle soul who will always treat her with love and respect. I don't know why she doesn't really notice him. Besides, I think Ramon is much better looking that Gutierrez and just a better person all around.

No Diane it was not in your head, he was just that nasty & hateful to these
People. He was just like Lillian. nasty with racial hatred. I couldn't stand watchin it. Believe me, he may have changed but he is going to deserves everything marta is going to
Give him. This ass whipping is long overdue. And I'm go In to love seeing lil Getting hers. I hope this doesn't change gut back into the monster he was. I hope it makes him want to go after the people that exploit these helpless people who have nowhere to turn. Ok rant over.

Go in.....I meant Going to love seeing
Lol get hers.

Cynthia..Yeah, I hear you. My cousin's ex used to be a body builder , and she had to oil up his hairless torso before competitions. New rules for male beauty it seems. Whatever.

Lil :(

Nothing wrong with hairless chests on guy with these kind of assets. If I want to touch fur I pet my cats.

As to the change in Brian, I think the writers decided "He's good looking so let's redeem him" or something. His about face is probably part of Lillian's payback. Him falling for Marta is the next step.

What would be the ultimate irony is if he's the one to arrest the Succubus when it comes out that she murdered Lisa.

UA, LOL...about petting your cats! I remember when I was a little kid if something was hot, spicy and or with onions, my dad and uncle used to say something like, "Eat it, it will put hair on your chest." I used to say, "eeeewwwww....no! But the boys were the opposite, they wanted hair on their chests!

I wonder if DisGracie will ever get arrested for what she's done. But the problem is that no one suspects anything except for Juan. And I don't think he's going to talk because DisGracie already has something on him.

I'm still waiting for Mark to knocked off somehow. Can't stand him!

Very late but thank you UA! I'm screencapping like mad for last night's post right now!

I sense redemption from Brian in the future, especially given that he kind of pales villain-wise next to some of the others.

As for Monday's episode, DANCING! I love dancing episodes. I am totally team Tano/Fer. I think he could be a good influence on her and she could use one. Thought David was a little hypocritical about the kiss considering how he is with one of the employees.

Nothing wrong with shorts and flip flops on a Harley either, but it makes the wrong people look at you.
