Enamorandome de Ramon #7 8.16.17: Secret Romances and Fake Signatures...

The Medina sisters hear a knock on the door, go to answer and find Ramon at the door. They are speechless but he asks if they are the Medina sisters before commenting on how good they look. Fabiola demands to know what he wants and he was looking for his mother though Fabiola tells him that she isn’t there and they need to talk to her, ASAP, because things can’t stay the way they are. Ramon is confused but Fabiola knows Juana will understand. Ramon bids them good night and goes to try his luck at Luisa’s house. Fabiola closes the door and tells Andrea that she barely recognized Ramon because he has changed so much.

In the hallway, Ramon wonders what Fabiola meant to say about his mother.

Sitting on the couch, Fabiola tells Andrea that Ramon is surely conspiring with Juana because he hasn’t come to visit them in years. Andrea thinks he looks very nice and humble but Fabiola thinks they should watch out as Juana was nice until she got the insurance money. Andrea begins to cry but Fabiola asks her to stop though Andrea confesses that she misses Juana, dearly. Fabiola thinks they should call their uncles and see what they think about Ramon’s sudden disappearance but their Antonio nor Julio answer. She then calls Virginia, who tells them Julio isn’t home. They decide to call Margarita, who finally answers, and tell her to come over. Margarita agrees and Hortensia, who overhears, decides to come with.

Julio is at the gambling table, winning, when Mystery Blond comes over and tells him “hi” with a kiss. She tells him that her friends loved him last time but he left them penniless. He smiles and asks her how much the private poker game is; too much for Julio but Mystery Blond reminds him that he has made a lot more gambling. He will see how the rest of the night will treat them and they will see.

Roxana and Antonio arrive home with Diego. As Diego washes his hands, Antonio laments the fact that she won’t sleep over again but Roxana sits him down because she needs to ask him for a favor: take care of Diego for a couple of days while she goes to Miami. She explains that it is a business trip but Antonio is unsure. He goes to ask more questions but thinks better of it and stays quiet.

Juana dines with Dalia and Luisa and they suggest she keep the Medina sisters waiting a little longer, so they appreciate her, but Juana wants to go. Dalia tells Juana that Julio’s visit doesn’t mean things have changed but Juana asks them when he came over. Luisa explains that it was when she was sleeping and Juana insists she go back home as Julio has been the only nice one to her. Once alone, Luisa tells Dalia that Juana is too nice and Dalia agrees.

The Medina sisters tells Hortensia and Margarita about Ramon. They wonder why he came and Fabiola assumes it was because he found out about the money and wants some. She then confesses that she overheard Juana talking to someone, possibly Ramon, about taking the money for herself. When Fabiola confronted Juana stormed out and hasn’t come back. Hortensia chides them both for trusting Juana but Margarita and Andrea are still on the fence; they don’t believe Juana lied about her intentions. Margarita argues that she left because they treated her bad but Hortensia shakes her head.

Antonio asks Roxana when she’s leaving but she will let him know when she knows. He asks that they tell Diego so he gets used to it and Roxana nods as Diego comes back. They both tell Diego about her trip but Diego would like to go with her. Roxana thinks it’s impossible and Diego finally agrees but Roxana doesn’t seem happy with her decisions.

Hortensia continues to talk bad about Juana and Fabiola agrees that the money has changed her; Ramon’s arrival all but confirm their suspicions. Andrea argues that Ramon seemed to not know anything but Fabiola thinks he’s a good liar. Hortensia then tells them that she hired Porfirio to get their money back and orders Margarita to call him so he can tell them what to do.

As Dalia gets ready, Luisa gets a call from Benito, her secret beau, and explains that she will be by the taco stand soon. Benito can’t stop thinking about Luisa and wants to see her soon and so does Luisa. He asks her when they can see each other again but can’t answer as Dalia comes back. Luisa hangs up and goes with Dalia to eat.

Julio wins big and agrees to go to the poker game. Mystery Blond is happy and they make another bet, which wins them more big bucks.

Antonio reads Diego a story as Roxana watches. Once he’s tucked Diego in, he goes to say goodbye to Roxana, who confesses that she chose the best man to be the father of her child. Antonio hopes that one day he can also be her husband again; he would like her to think it over during her trip and give him an answer when she comes back. Roxana nods and they go.

Porfirio tries to explain (in vain) that Juana is the beneficiary to the insurance policy and there is little they can do now. Hortensia suggests they sue Juana for her psychological mistreatment because of all the stress the sisters have been under since the insurance policy was announced. Porfirio reiterates that Juana did nothing and has done nothing wrong; he suggests they meet tomorrow at his office to discuss the policy over line by line. Hortensia agrees and they hang up.

Dalia and Luisa are eating when Benito comes and says hello. Dalia seems to know him too and says hello but Luisa seems nervous (and with good reason). He asks if he can sit with them to eat and orders five tacos while grabbing Luisa’s leg under the table. Luisa tries to pull away, but can’t, and Benito then notices the necklace Dalia is wearing and begins to signal Luisa. She doesn’t understand and he grabs her leg, hard, causing Luisa to kick the table and throw the tacos on Dalia’s lap. Dalia screams and goes to clean herself up as Benito chides Luisa for giving Dalia the necklace he gave her as a symbol of their love. Luisa explains that she gave it to Dalia as an apology for leaving her alone yesterday. She begs Benito to not be mad but he won’t be easily dissuaded.

Hortensia asks the sisters to calm down because she will take care of everything tomorrow. Just then, the doorbell rings and it’s Juana, who comes inside all smiles, but is met with Hortensia’s insults. She tells Juana that Fabiola heard about her plans and reminds her that she will defend her granddaughters against anything and anyone. Juana explains that she has never wanted to stay with the money but she is tired of talking the topic to death, especially because everyone has forgotten who she was before she got the money. Hortensia kicks her out of the house but Juana asks the sisters to tell her themselves. The sisters are quiet and Juana decides to leave but takes nothing with her.

In the hallway, Juana runs into Jorge and tells him what happened. He wonders if it was because of what Fabiola overheard and Juana is shocked that Fabiola told everyone what she believes. Jorge offers to talk to the sisters but Juana asks him to let it be and leaves.

Ramon arrives at Luisa’s house and knocks but finds that no one is home. He decides to wait as they must come back sometime.

Jorge knocks on the sisters’ door and Margarita opens. He demands to know why they kicked Juana out but Hortensia explains that the decision has been made and they are also going to proceed legally against Juana. He demands to know what happened but Hortensia is too tired and leaves with Margarita. Fabiola is too tired as well and leaves so Andrea offers to tell Jorge what happened.

Juana hails a taxi outside the apartment building and gets inside. Antonio arrives home now and sees her.

Jorge chides Andrea for allowing Juana to leave but Andrea thinks there was nothing to do. Jorge proposes they think of something but it was a bad idea to involve Hortensia either way. Just then, the doorbell rings and it’s Antonio. Fabiola answers and he tells them that he saw Juana leaving. Fabiola explains that Hortensia kicked them out and Antonio chides them for involving her because her attitude doesn’t help. Fabiola tried to call him first but he didn’t answer. Either way, Ramon came back, suspiciously, but Antonio doesn’t think it changes anything. Just then, Francisco arrives and Fabiola gives him a hug and asks him to take her anywhere. He agrees and they go.

Benito walks Luisa and Dalia home and they laugh and talk as they go. Once they arrive home, he bids them good night and Dalia confesses that she enjoys he’s company though she wonders why he has never been married as he’s funny and good looking and she knows what they about shorter men. Luisa has a moment to think about her passionate night with Benito but it doesn’t last as Ramon reveals himself. They all scream and hug, happy to see each other.

Francisco takes Fabiola to a restaurant to discuss the Juana-Ramon situation. She explains that she knew him but hadn’t seen him in a while. Francisco asks her how he looked and seemed but Fabiola can barely answer as she thinks about him. As she slightly smiles, Francisco asks if he left that big of an impression on her because she’s mute. Fabiola shakes her head and tells him that Ramon seemed boring and gray (but we all know the truth).

Ramon eats with Luisa and Dalia and tells them that he has been looking for Juana all day but has missed her. He wishes he would’ve gone to Luisa’s first and avoided Fabiola, who was as rude as she was beautiful. Dalia asks if he thinks Fabiola is beautiful and Ramon nods as there is a knock on the door. It’s Juana, who sees Ramon and smiles. They hug each other, fiercely.

As Diego sleeps, Roxana watches him, sad. She then hears her cell ring and goes to answer. It’s Augustin, who asks if she spoke to Antonio about Miami. She confirms she did and he took the news well. Augustin is happy but his smile fades as soon as she confirms that she didn’t tell Antonio that the trip was with him. She explains that she was waiting for the right time and Augustin decides to let it go, for now. He bids her good night and hangs up.

After their happy meeting, Juana chides Ramon for not returning her phone calls, especially in her time of need, but Ramon hugs her and asks her to calm down because he’s there and can tell him everything. Juana begins to cry and explains that her bosses died in a plane crash. Ramon comforts her as Juana explains that they found out about the plane crash during the surprise party and she had to tell them. Ramon now knows why the sisters were so serious and Andrea didn’t even talk. Juana explains that Andrea is very nice but is now mute since the news of her parent’s death. Ramon nods and then tells her about Fabiola’s message; Juana understands that it is regarding the insurance and explains that she is the beneficiary of the life insurance policy her bosses left her for 1 million dollars. She tells him that the whole family now distrusts her and demands to know why she inherited the money anyway. On top of that, Fabiola overheard a piece of her conversation with Pedro and now thinks she is trying to steal the money. Dalia and Luisa suggest she take the money and run but Ramon suggests she give the money back and let the Medinas destroy themselves. Juana agrees and they hug.

Jorge serves Andrea cereal for dinner and she teases him for it. He tells her that while she can cook he wanted to take care of her and Andrea smiles. Francisco and Fabiola then come, happy to see her smiling. They all promise to be there for her should she need anything.

Luisa thinks Juana is being stupid for not taking the money but Juana reminds her that the money is for the sisters. Besides, the policy only matters now because Ricardo and Katy died and she doesn’t want anything based on tragedy. Luisa thinks she would even continue working for the Medinas after all that has happened and Juana nods. Ramon agrees that he would do the same and Luisa shakes her head. Ramon then asks who she will give the money too and Juana thinks Hortensia is the best option as she’s the head of the household.

Hortensia tells Margarita that she will be merciless with Juana because she was right all along about her dark intentions. Margarita reminds her that she there is nothing to be done but demands to know why she hates Juana so much. Hortensia is mad that she considers herself part of the family and she won’t stand for her insolence any longer.

Francisco kisses Fabiola good night as Jorge says goodbye to Andrea and tells her that he will pick her up tomorrow for class. Andrea can’t contain herself and gives him a big kiss. Jorge and Fabiola are taken aback but he smiles, nonetheless, before leaving. Andrea smiles after him, longingly, and Fabiola teases her for her PDAs since she’s not even that sweet with her. Andrea chides her for never supporting her and runs away but Fabiola chases her, laughing, and asks for details.

Juana asks Ramon why he isn’t working with his boss and he explains that his boss fell on some hard times and he is jobless. He explains that he came to try his luck in Mexico City and Juana is happy to have him close. She asks about his things and Ramon tells him that they stole them at the bus station in one of the small towns they passed. Luisa suggests he report it to the bus station but Ramon doesn’t sweat it, he will get new things if it comes to it. He then tells them that he will look for work tomorrow but hopes Luisa will let him stay the night. Luisa suggests Juana stay too and decide what to do tomorrow. Juana agrees and smiles.

The next morning, Ramon is up on dawn and cooks breakfast. Dalia comes, surprised, and tells him that he’s ready for marriage though she wonders if he will ever get married. Ramon will, if he meets the woman of his dreams. Juana and Luisa then come and Luisa is even happier to have them as Ramon has cooked them breakfast. He asks them to sit down and taste his eggs; they are happy to oblige.

Jorge goes to pick up Andrea but he is shocked to find that she is still in bed. He runs to her bedroom and sees her half-dressed. She chides him for coming in announced and kicks him out as Jorge apologizes. She then goes to get ready.

Margarita goes to Porfirio’s office for her first day of work but he thought she would come with Hortensia. Margarita tells him that she is coming later but Porfirio begs her to sit with him later for his appointment with Hortensia, in a show of solidarity. She reluctantly agrees if she finishes all her work. He smiles and Margarita goes to leave but then tells him that she didn’t tell Antonio the truth about Roxana but she did confront Roxana later though she denied ever having been at the restaurant. Porfirio suggests she stay out of it completely as no one will ever appreciate it. Margarita nods and then leaves.

Andrea and Jorge leave for school as Julio arrives at Fabiola’s house. They are both happy to see Andrea has resumed her life and then he asks about Juana. Fabiola tells him what happened last night with Juana and Hortensia and explains that she tried to call him but he didn’t answer. Julio tells her he was busy now and Fabiola explains that it doesn’t matter as it has been decided that Hortensia will take care of everything regarding the insurance money, with Porfirio’s help. Julio is unsure as he doesn’t like Hortensia’s way of doing things but it is what it is. He then bids Fabiola goodbye and goes.

Rulo calls his associate and tells him that he managed to get the piece of equipment he was looking for and will take it to him when gets out of work. He then returns to the shop as another mechanic asks him for that very same equipment. Rulo tells him that he was the last one who had it but the mechanic can’t find it. He goes off to look for her as Dalia comes and Rulo shouts catcalls. Dalia smiles but steps on his toes to show him that he is not impressed before walking away.

Ramon calls Valente and tells him about his recent adventures, namely the fact that he is in Mexico City and Sofia dumped him. Valente laments it but Ramon is going to take it in stride and avoid coming back to Tijuana as Bocanegra will be looking for him. Valente agrees and hopes to go visit him soon so they can talk. Ramon agrees and hangs up as Juana comes and tells him that she is ready to go.

In school, Sara tells Andrea that they should invite Jorge to a coffee together so she can talk to him. Andrea doesn’t want to but Sara asks her to please help her out. Andrea walks away though because she doesn’t want to be a part of her plan.

As they wait for taxi, Juana tells Ramon that she is happy to have him there but she wants to know the truth because she doesn’t believe his story about why he is staying in Mexico City. Ramon confesses that a woman broke his heart and he wants to forget her. Juana gives him a hug and Ramon cries.

Hortensia arrives at Porfirio’s office and hopes to hear only good news. Porfirio nods and then goes over every document that Ricardo and Katy left behind. The first is the will, which is no help to them, so they move on to the insurance policy, which they will go over line by line. Hortensia agrees and Porfirio begins to read.

Fabiola is cleaning the house when Juana and Ramon knock on the door. She opens, surprised to see them door, but Juana asks her if they can talk. Fabiola is quiet.

Porfirio finishes reading and reiterates that there is nothing illegal about the insurance policy and there is nothing they can do. Hortensia asks him for the insurance policy again and proceeds to look it over with a magnifying glass. She gasps and tells them that the signature at the bottom of the policy is not Ricardo’s. In fact, the signature is false...

Alfredo, another marvelous, carefully created recap.

One of the many reasons I so enjoy your summaries is your ability to convey so much feeling and emotion in phrases such as "It’s Juana, who sees Ramon and smiles. They hug each other, fiercely".

I like Dalia and Luisa who have been offering good, logical advice to Juana, including the suggestion “… she keep the Medina sisters waiting a little longer, so they appreciate her”. Sound advice that went unheeded.

“Hortensia continues to talk bad about Juana and Fabiola agrees that the money has changed her; Ramon’s arrival all but confirm their suspicions”. Although Fabiola seems (overall) to have stopped her sniveling, her continuing lack of judgment in general and her siding with Hortensia in particular is dumbfounding. Pretty? Yes. Sweet and personable? Hardly.

Watching Roxana deceive Antonio is hard to watch. She has been fortunate to avoid a face to face Antonio/Augustin meeting thus far. Her luck can’t continue indefinitely. She has made up her mind. She needs to tell Antonio the truth, despite the fact she will likely rue her decision in the not too distant future. Surely she can infuse the excitement she craves into the relationship with her loyal, loving husband/

Dalia certainly made short work of Rulo’s inappropriate behavior, didn’t she? I can’t imagine how he is going to change her mind, but I suspect he will.

I admire that Ramon is soldiering on. He may be heartbroken but he is caring and considerate to his mother and his cooking breakfast for everyone was a sweet gesture.

Margarita never fails to look cool and elegant dressed in cream and white. Little (if any) traces of color. I'm waiting for Antonio to notice as well.

We had a bit of forward movement in that Juana and Ramon were reunited. Hortensia set things back a bit. I don't believe for a moment that the signature if forged.

Thank you so much Alfredo! Your efforts here and on the "Estela" line are truly appreciated.

Diana

Thank you, Alfredo. You recap more than what we see. I refer to this scene: "Andrea smiles after him, longingly, and Fabiola teases her for her PDAs since she’s not even that sweet with her. Andrea chides her for never supporting her and runs away but Fabiola chases her, laughing, and asks for details" This was the scene that was cut. Very sweet scene. Confirms once more Andrea's affection for Jorge and also show close and loving relationship between the sisters.
Alfredo, the man of Luisa is Benito.

You're very welcome, Diana and Lucio. You are so kind and sweet, it's a pleasure to write these recaps.

Lucio, I have made the changes to Benito. Thank you for catching that as I had some trouble hearing what they called him. I watch the Mexican version, as I enjoy complete episodes, regardless of filler, and look, we keep missing small, crucial scenes with Univision's version. If Andrea and Jorge are, indeed, falling in love...what would the family say? I thought Fabiola surely picked up on it but I guess she thought it was cousin love.

Diana, the reunion between Juana and Ramon was sweet. And I liked the confirmation that the Medina sisters knew Ramon but hadn't seen him in a while. At least they are paying attention ;)

If Hortensia is faking the fake signature, she is going so low, she is scrapping the barrel. It's not enough that she wants the money but she's will to land Juana in jail to get it. Wow.

Margarita and Porfirio's eye rolls were hilarious. As anything with Luisa and Benito. I wonder why she won't tell Dalia about her relationship as even Dalia agreed he's a catch.

Alfredo, at first I thought Hortensia was well, just "cranky" and greedy. I gravely underestimated her. As you noted, she obviously feels incarcerating an innocent woman is not an issue. Definitely anvil worthy behavior.

I'm thinking Luisa feels Dalia won't approve of her relationship on general principals for feel he isn't good enough for her. Dalia seems pretty savvy. I'm surprised she hasn't figured out what's going on in front of her eyes (and under the table) :)

Diana

Alfredo, what an amazing retelling of last night's events...thank you so much for your ability to articulate all the unspoken words and emotions so skillfully.

Diana, "Watching Roxana deceive Antonio is hard to watch." ITA, I just don't get women like her who have no qualms about hurting or using people to reach their own goal unreasonable as it may be.

The other scene that was hard to watch was when Hortensia ran off Juana while Fabiola and Andrea just stood there saying nothing. Fabiola is trying my patience with her unreasonable bratiness. She must take after Hortensia because everyone else in the family is understanding and supportive of Juana.

Ramon is her exact opposite such a sweet considerate guy...how are these two supposed to get along...unless the writers are banking on the "opposites attract" notion.

BTW whatever happened to Juana's meeting with Pedro to go open a bank account?

You're welcome, RGV! My pleasure :)

Roxana is behaving very badly and both of these guys don't deserve it. Antonio is nice and sweet but so is Augustin. He seems genuinely in love with Roxana too but she's content in hiding him in the shadows.

As for the bank account, it happened off screen, or hasn't happened yet because she hasn't received the money.

Dalia is probably obvious to the fact that her mother would even have a secret romance. If Benito keeps coming around more often though she may start to suspect. Did anyone also catch Dalia's "interest" in Ramon? Oh boy.

Also, I'm loving the theme song. Very sweet and romantic.

Alfredo, yes, I do really like the song...as well as the song they used for Sofia and Ramon. So nice not to hear accordians and tubas :-)

Alfredo, ah ha! For a second, it did seem as though Dalia broke out in a full fledged smile during her conversation with Ramon the other day! I dismissed it as it happened so quickly, I felt I must have imagined it! But now that YOU noted it, she is certainly interested in Ramon. I might offer I suspect the feeling is not mutual.

Rgv Chick, Fabiola is doing nothing to endear herself to me either. She absolutely should have gone to Juana's defense! I am less annoyed with Andrea who just seems to be ill advisedly following her sister's poor example.

If I were Juana, I would throw the check on Hortensia's table and let the greedy vultures have at it.

I am also enjoying the music.

Diana

Thank you Alfredo!!!!

I think it is funny how Fab keeps saying that the money changed Juana when the only one it has changed is her! She is obsessed with it.

Roxana really does know how to play two sides but I think she will definitely lose in the end.

I really like Porfirio. I remember the actor from AC. I wish Margarita looked at him the way she does Antonio, because he is going to be a long wait.

I think Hortensia has some secrets we don't know yet. I don't think she is truly being genuine about the money being solely for the sake of the girls. Just a hunch.

Does Juana not have a home of her own? Has she always lived with them and worked 7 days a week?

I was surprised Fab felt a connection to Ramon. I thought he was looking a bit rough for her taste and Francisco is super hot.

I'm wrong story. Weirdness is happening. Sorry yall. Can't switch it
Dang it. And it's on twice. This is not my day.

Carvivlie, all your comments have so much merit...especially the one about Fab saying Juana had changed because of the money when it's really her that has gone bonkers about the money. I too was wondering if Juana was a live-in maid...she always ends up at Luisa's which isn't necessarily bad since it seems they"re her only true supporters...until Ramon showed up.

Thank you Alfredo, today I relied completely on your recap, and feel I have missed nothing.

I agree with most everyone that Fabiola is the one that has changed because of the money. Juana is as close to a saint as possible for putting up with that family of scorpions. And Ramon, he is also good telling his mom to give up the money. If it was me I would keep the money, and forget those people, but we all know Juana won't do that.

This one is for this tn.I'll be short. I understand her frustration. Gramma

I totally agree sandy, they're all a pain. I'd keep it too. But even if she does give it up, she'll wind up with it anyway. I'd just love to see her get a complete makeover. Get some Barbar Clippers and Cut those dang pigtails off.
