Mi marido tiene familia Wednesday 12/6/17 Capítulo 74: The Muted Acceptance--OR--Blanca is Still AWOL

For a change, Julieta is cooking for Robert. He thinks it smells really good. Well, she learned from the best (Blanca). That pushes Robert deep into thought about his mother. Robert didn’t want to appear weak in front of his father but he really misses his mother. Julieta assures Robert that he is not going to lose his mother again. They will look for her no matter how long it takes. Julieta is going to try to track down Amalia and Belén through work. Maybe then they will be able to find out where Blanca is. Robert thanks her and adds that he feels like he has to do do his best to take care of his family at a time like this. As always, Julieta gives him the strength that he so needs. Julieta loves him. He loves her more. Now she wants him to try the food. Robert tastes it and declares it delicious.

Gabriel is waiting for the answer to his proposal. Daniela has said nothing and has tears in her eyes. He is sure he wants to marry her. It turns out that Daniela has lost her voice. She grabs her phone to write him a message. She writes him that she is unable to talk. She swears nothing will come out. He at first thinks she is just putting on so she does not have to give him an answer. She writes another message swearing that no noise will come out of her mouth.

Blanca goes by Belén’s house and runs into Aurelio who has a suitcase packed and is just leaving. It looks like he is leaving but he tells her is going to get his laundry done. Blanca explains she needs to be with her sisters. She needs to find them. He explains that they are at the cabin they used to go to when they were kids. He invites her in saying she doesn’t look like she is feeling very well. She insists that she really must be going. She also thanks him for having gotten back with Belén. She always wants to see her sisters happy. Aurelio hopes she is feeling better herself. Blanca thanks him and leaves.

At the Córcega’s place, Linda is telling the female contingent of the family that she can’t live without her mother. The whole household depends on her. Polita offers to help out. Marisol says nobody can fill the hole that her mother has left. Linda would love to tell Ana and Tulio what a couple of wretches they are. Polita tells her that would do no good. Linda now realizes why they were such hypocrites. Ana always brought gifts as if she were trying to cover up something. Then you see what she did to Juan Pablo, to everybody. Linda hates them. Polita tells her hating is not a good thing and that Ana and Tulio will get theirs. Linda wishes her mother would turn on her cell phone. Linda remembers that in the letter her mother left, she made it clear that her daughters were not guilty of anything. Did anyone tell Daniela? Marisol says no because she is on vacation with Gabriel and she didn’t have it in her to ruin the moment for Daniela. Daniela cannot do anything from where she is anyway. Polita says sooner or later they are going to have to tell her. Linda thinks they should wait because Daniela has suffered a lot more because of the Juan Pablo situation and that this news is going to affect her horribly.

Back at the amusement park with Gabriel and Daniela, they are talking to the park doctor who is examining Daniela’s throat and explaining that sometimes people can lose their voice when they are faced with an anxiety producing situation. Physically there is nothing wrong with Daniela.

Julieta and Robert are doing dishes. She tells himthat they cannot prevent others from living what they have to live. His parents have a lot to settle between them. Robert knows but thinks it is different at their age. Julieta thinks not because they are a couple just like any other. She thinks that Bkanca is carrying a lot of pain. Robert sees it as being his fault that his parents have suffered so much. Julieta reminds him that he was only four years old when he went missing so he could not be to blame for anything. Daniela filled him in on what happened when he was lost. His father barely spoke and his mother was praying all of the time and crying. Julieta tells him that by hurting himself with these thoughts he will not be able to change a single day of the past. He knows. They do their magnet thing and she tells him that she loves him as they hug.

Imelda tells her granddaughters and Polita that they are going to have to organize themselves to keep the household going. Linda thinks about what a bummer it will be if her mom does not come back. There won’t be anything for Polita’s Tupperware. Imelda says even if Blanca comes back why can’t they all be of help in the kitchen. Linda won’t do that. She is always on a diet and knows nothing about cooking. Imelda says she is going to have to learn. Right now, she wants Marisol to go down to the bakery and help load bolillos except for Polita. Polita will help Imelda and make the food and not just take it. Polita willingly goes to help with a smile . Linda and Frida are going to help wash dishes. Linda just rolls her eyes.

Xavi is working in the bakery asks Marisol about Blanca. She fills him in. He tells her she always has a shoulder to lean on.

Gabriel is in tears about Daniela not being able to talk. He never knew that the surprise would have done that to her. She reopens the chest and accepts his proposal by giving him the thumbs up. He kisses her hands and then her lips.

Eugenio is alone in his bedroom when Imelda comes to check on him. He would prefer to die if Blanca does not come back. Imelda tells him not to say that because his children need him. Blanca is his life. She has accepted him with all of his defects. He just cannot take that she is suffering because of him. He also thinks that the problem between him and Blanca is beyond them not telling her about Ana and Juan Pablo.

There is a knock at the door of the cabin. Belén and Amalia answer the door. Blanca is there. She needs them so badly and feels like she is dying. Blanca is in tears and tells them about Ana being the one who took Juan Pablo.

Gabriel puts the engagement ring on Daniela’s finger and she can talk again. She tells him that she is happy. They kiss and then enjoy some of the rides.

Julieta says that apart from the Ana situation, Blanca has a lot of issues she has never dared talk about. Robert says that when he spoke to her she had lots of dreams she wanted to fulfill like when Julieta taught her how to drive. Julieta knows that what his mother did seems extreme but the fact that she left by herself driving is a big step. Robert agrees. He doesn’t think that she herself ever thought she had much potential for things like that. Julieta gets a text from Luz. Unfortunately they were unable to locate Amalia or Belén. Robert still doesn’t understand how Tulio would dare to tell Blanca the truth. Julieta tells Robert that something good will come out of all of this. He hopes that she is right It he wants to get something clear with her right now. If some day he forgets to tell her he loves her, or doesn’t hug or kiss her, then she has to make sure he is punished. She promises but says it should be the same for her. She teases him saying the punishment could be a little strong. They kiss and Bruno comes into the kitchen. Julieta asks when Bruno is going to start tutoring Aristóteles. He does not know. He has not talked to him. Julieta will talk to his mother and give Bruno the dates. Bruno is not too motivated and says he thought that when Julieta got married her mood would have improved. Robert shakes his head and adds that he loves his wife just the way she is.

Blanca talks about the whole Ana situation with her sisters. She is so angry. Ana was always bringing food and gifts and she accepted them. How could have she looked Blanca in the eye? Belén says that Ana was always a very strange woman and was rather envious. Blanca loved Ana. She saw her as another sister. None of them: Eugenio, her mother-in-law, Audifaz, Robert, Julieta told her the truth. They all hid it from her. Belén thinks they might have been trying to protect her. No, Blanca is coming to realize that she is a nobody. Belén reminds her she is the mother of four children. Yes, Blanca knows she is somebody’s mother, somebody’s wife, somebody’s daughter-in-law, somebody’s daughter, somebody’s sister. It has always been that way ever since she was a child. It is not fair. She has always done why she was told. Nobody ever asked her what she wanted. Belén asks her what she wants. Blanca does not know. Amalia says she always thought that Blanca had it made because she has a family. Blanca is sure she loves her family, being with them md taking care of them. The real problem is that Blanca feels that life has passed her by while she has been fulfilling everyone else’s wishes and not her own. She doesn’t make decisions. Belén thinks that Blanca knows that what she did was for love of her family. Is Blanca happy or not? Yes, Blanca is happy with her family but she had the right to be told the truth. When that happened she realized that she does not want others making decisions for her. All she does every day is cook, feed everybody, go down to the bakery. She never wanted to be a baker. Eugenio wanted her to be a baker. She was always trying to please, please, please, all because she felt guilty about having lost Juan Pablo. Now she is tired.

Eugenio is still crying as he sniffs Blanca’s apron and cries in the kitchen. Marisol is going to start dinner. Eugenio starts to talk. He starts to explain that he didn’t want to hurt her mother. He always wanted to be kinder to her but eventhough he tried, he couldn’t. Marisol says she knows. She tells him not to be sad. Eugenio continues telling Marisol that her grandmother taught them how to be men . . . Imelda has overheard what he is saying and she refuses to be blamed or labeled as the bad guy. Marisol tells her to calm down. She will have none of that. She did the best she could. She proceeds to throw her tantrum. Linda and Frida come in to see what is going on. Imelda is still talking. They are a family of strong people and they will show Blanca that the family that she has formed is capable of overcoming anything.

Later that night, Blanca is still going over what Eugenio told her. He told her that he wasn’t lying. How could she not see that something was going on? They were so strange with Ana. They were talking behind her back. Blanca once heard that when the pain gets so bad, one just does not feel it. Yhemsistersmtell, her not to torture herself. Belén tells her it is time for them to take care of her. They have a surprise. Amalia brings out some black amd white photos of Blanca from when they were kids and their mother wanted them to be like Blanca. Blanca wants to know why they have photos only of her. Belén explains that whenever she and Amalia feel lost, they think of Blanca. Shenis the one who always knows how to support the family. She will always be their pride. They never will leave her. The sisters all love each other.

Daniela and Gabriel are out taking a walk. She has a couple of points she wants to make. The first point is that she does or want to get married right away. She wants them to get to know each other better first. He is in total agreement. The second point is that she is afraid. She doesn’t know what to do with a ring on her finger and a fiancé. She always said she wasn’t going to have a fiancé and look at her now. She does not know what the future holds. Well, he doesn’t either. She should never think that he is not afraid. They are both throwing themselves into something unknown to them. Why did he propose so quickly? He explains it was “their time“ to do it. She does not know what her family is going to say. Gabriel just stares clearly thinking about his own family.

Robert, Julieta and Bruno are finishing up supper talking about trying to find Blanca. Nruno says Julietanalwys wanted to be a police officer. She tracked him down. She tells him he can clear the table and wash the dishes. He thinks it is a punishment. No, they eat and dishes have to be washed. It is his turn. Bruno gets to do the dishes. When he calls her Julie and complains, he also gets the opportunity of doing the breakfast ones, too. She goes to help him out. Robert is left at the table with thoughts of his mother telling him of how it was when he was lost.

At the Córcega apartment, everyone is eating Marisol’s first meal. The food is okay but it is not Blanca’s and, furthermore, they all look too depressed to really enjoy the food. Imelda tells them they are all going to eat. Eugenio then starts talking about life having no meaning without Blanca. If Blanca comes back, Eugenio says he will even take a class to learn how to treat her better.

Julieta and Bruno are working in the kitchen. He sees no point in learning how to wash the dishes. Julieta tells him that if he is alone or living with somebody he is going to have to know how to do them.Julieta then asks who his girlfriend is. He says he has no money for himself so how is he going to have any to take a girl out? She tells him a girlfriend would help him get down to businesss even though at first he has to do it for himself. She is thinking about him dating a nice, centered and normal girl. He has no interest in Julieta running his life.

Eugenio goes into his bedroom amd staring at the bed he has a rush of memories of what he told Blanca.

Belén talks to Blanca before they go to bed. She tells Blanca to think things over really well and then make her decision. There is no rush. Blanca is afraid of something new but she is also afraid of going back to the same old life. She feels so confused. Belén tells her not to pressure herself. She has all the time in the world.

Marisol talks with Xavi about her parents marriage. Marisol has some news for Xavi about making a professional recording and then maybe making a simple video and posting it on the social networks. Xavim oes not know how to pay her for all of the ”love” she is putting in his career. She quickly decides he doesn’t have to pay her anything. Maybe he does want to pay her back with love. He misses her and is excited when he is going to see her. He thinks about her when she is not around. He wants her to be very happy. He likes her a lot. He kisses her.

Daniela video chats with Julieta. Daniela shows Julieta her engagement ring. Julieta is surprised amd says it seems to be a little soon. Daniela says she thinks the same and that she and Gabriel are not going to be getting married for a good while. Daniela suspects that something is up at home. Finally, Robert tells her that her mother packed up amd left.

Daniela goes to Gabriel’s room to tell him they have to go back to Oaxaca.

Blanca sends a text to Robert telling her children that she is okay.

Julieta talks to Polita about Bruno tutoring Aristóteles. Polita likes the idea but they have no money. Julieta tells her not to worry about the money. She will take care of Bruno. Julieta then finds out that Polita has not been to a doctor yet with her pregnancy. She has no money. Julieta will pay for her going to see the doctor. Polita can consider it a gift for the baby. Polita thanks her from her heart.

Robert gets the family all together. He says that he has gotten a message from Bkanca. She is at a cabin with her sisters.Imelda knows the place. Blanca used to go there as a kid. Imelda says they have to go see her. As they are all leaving, Robert runs into Daniela. Marisol thinks it would be good if Blanca could see her four daughters together. Julieta puts a wrench in the works by asking if they are doing the right thing by all going to see Blanca. Linda tells her that she is not going to tell them what to do. Julieta thinks that she has the right to state her opinion. Their mother asked for time. They have to respect her. Daniela thinks Julieta is right and that by them all showing up, Blanca is going to feel more guilty. Linda says they have to know how she is. Marisol adds that they need to know if she needs something. Julieta volunteers to go. Linda says that Blanca and her cannot stand each other. Robert has to ask Linda to be more respectful. Julieta says she can be more objective and Blanca will not feel like it is some sort of blackmail scheme to get her to come back. Linda is not happy.

At the restaurant, Augusto is ragging on Gabriel one more time. He has tried to deal with Gabriel calmly but when he finds out that Gabriel is engaged to Daniela, he tells him to collect his things and fires him on the spot.

Eugenio is upset that the daughters have not gone to see Blanca. Robert tells them that Julieta has gone. Eugenio asks why her. Robert reminds him that she is a part of the family and by Julieta going Blanca should not feel pressured into anything. Daniela is ready to trust Julieta.

Augusto and Gabriel continue to argue as he packs up his stuff from his office at the restaurant. Gabriel accuses his father of not believing in him. Augusto says he is firing him because he is the owner. Gabriel said that the business has been growing because of him and his work. His father never recognizes anything that he does well. It is clear Augusto is caught up on Gabriel proposing to . . . . .Daniela! Gabriel accuse him of firing him for a personal issue and not for his work. Gabriel wants his severance pay, all of it since he is clearly not his son but an employee. He is leaving the restaurant and also his father’s life.

Robert is cooking for his sisters. Daniela is hoping that Julieta can convince Blanca to come back. Frida notices that Daniela is hiding her hand. Frida wants a count of who wants to see what Daniela is hiding. They all raise their hands. When they see the ring and hear about the proposal they all go wild with the good news. Robert asks about it being so soon. Daniela explains about them waiting a while. Robert gives her the lecture about marriage being a serious thing. Daniela tells him he sounds like her father. He knows has lost the fight when Daniela declares she is ready to defend what she feels. Eugenio walks in and Daniela hides her hand and leaves. The rest of the sisters follow her.

Gabriel has a tearful goodbye with his team as his father watches. His sisters arrive amd swear they didn’t do anything. Well, Gabriel is going to show them that he can do it on his own. They remind him he was not born to be poor. They will have to see if he survives without help from “daddy”. Sobbing, Gabriel declares that he will do it on his own.

Linda and Marisol follow Daniela to their bedroom to get all of the details of the proposal. Robert has to break up the fun by talking to Daniela one more time reminding her not to let any one treat her less for being who she is. She thanks him for worrying about her. He asks her not to hurry the decision about setting a date for the wedding.

Blanca is walking alone outside deep in thought when Julieta arrives. Julieta addresses her calling her “mamá suegra”. Blanca turns and sees her. She breaks out into a great big smile.

Loved the title Jarifa. The recap even more.

Your sincere writing, culled from the heart is always fantastic. "She will always be their pride. They never will leave her. The sisters all love each other" brought tears to my eyes.

There are so many kind, generous deeds Julieta is doing behind the scenes, offering to pay for Ari’s lessons and Polita’s doctor visit. It is gratifying that Julieta is supporting them with little notice. Xavi's presence is a soothing balm to Eugenio and is a comforting character just outside the family perimeter. For now.

"Blanca is there. She needs them so badly and feels like she is dying". Ack.

Some needed insight into Blanca's pain: "Nobody ever asked her what she wanted. Belén asks her what she wants. Blanca does not know" and finally, "She was always trying to please, please, please, all because she felt guilty about having lost Juan Pablo. Now she is tired".

How Blanca continued on, her beloved son missing, a brand new baby, another child at home with thinly veiled accusations from Eugenio and Imelda, I will never know. Those would have defeated the average person but Blanca is no mere mortal.

I know that Dani will support Gabi and sustain him through the loss of his work and family. I hope his father is not leaving the restaurant running to his two inept daughters. How fast can they run it into the ground??

There is one thing that troubles me. I do not blame Blanca a bit for feeling the way she does but I don't quite understand why she is including Robert. I don't know whose suffering was greatest, but I feel very badly that he is now suffering once again. I have hope though that Blanca will soon be back to her not always sunny self shortly :)

Jarifa, wonderful, wonderful. Thank you!

Diana

Jarifa: Anyone filed a missing person report on Blanca ?

Thanks you, Diana. The writers outdid themselves in this episode . . . as usual. To be honest, I do not know how Blanca did it all those years with the continual recriminations from Eugenio and Imelda along with the loss of Juan Pablo himself. I look forward to her being back with an even more commanding presence and with equal footing in the household. But before that, I hope she has a few good adventures on her own.

Steve, there was no need.

Yikes: Thank you—sounds much better.

It seemed like just so much talk last night.

Gabriel is really a tender-hearted soul. It was so sad to see his father pull the rug out from under him. Just like Blanca, he has some new territory to discover being on his own. It should be interesting.

I got tired of everybody warning Daniela about getting married too soon. She is not a teenager which is what they keep treating her as. I feel that “ the family” minus Linda really robbed her of the joy of the moment.

I could see Xavi content married to Marisol, working at the bakery, living in the building not on top of the building and playing a few gigs here and there.

Thanks so much Jarifa!!!

This was a very talky episode in between the fair rides.

It was hard to watch Gabi crying. He is always so sure of himself and cocky. We saw some of the fragility that his Dad had spoken about. I do worry about what he will do if his Dad kicks him out of his apartment too. Where will he go? He's not used to living without money. This will definitely test the strength of their relationship.

I'm glad Juli was able to stop the kids from going after Blanca. I was also glad that Rob put Linda in her place and that Marisol and Dani both said they had faith in Juli.

Juli was like everyone's fairy godmother last night. She was dispensing good advice, going to see Blanca for the kids, taking care of Polita and the baby...

Coward Aurelio leaving without saying goodbye to Belen--good riddance. I feel bad for Belen though. All of these years she hasn't moved on because she kept hoping he would come back, he does, and she realizes there is nothing left. What a waste of time.

Excellent recap, Jarifa and the title so befitting!

Diana, "There are so many kind, generous deeds Julieta is doing behind the scenes," So true, it seems that as the story unfolds Julieta is becoming the "heroine" for so many of the characters. I really like the message this TN is conveying through her character. Women, though not perfect, can be strong and independent...aside from being kind, patient, and good-hearted. I think what has impressed me the most about Julieta's character is that she is unbelievably patient and forgiving.

" I do not blame Blanca a bit for feeling the way she does but I don't quite understand why she is including Robert." Very true, and I would even include her daughters who have also been victims of Eugenio's anger and Imelda's selfishness and desire to control.

Jarifa, "I do not know how Blanca did it all those years with the continual recriminations from Eugenio and Imelda along with the loss of Juan Pablo himself." Me neither!! I've been wondering how any one could tolerate such emotional abuse and not have some type of emotional break...or just walk out. and...

"Gabriel is really a tender-hearted soul." Yes, he is. I was a little bothered with the amount of crying he did though, but I suppose it is in character since he seems to have always had his own way and things have been handed to him throughout his life. Now that he has had the opportunity to work at the restaurant and develop a good, solid relationships with his "team,' I think he values people more.

Everyone telling Dani to tread carefully about getting married was tiresome, but I can understand the warnings....they have always considered Dani a loner...and certainly one that would never get married. Her relationship with Gabriel went from rocky to solid in a very short time, too. I can see where even I would at least tell her to have a long engagement, not because of who Gabriel is, but because of what she has endured throughout her lifetime.

Carvivlie, our comments crossed..."It was hard to watch Gabi crying. He is always so sure of himself and cocky. " I agree!!

Another superb recap, Jarifa! Gabriel's father Augusto is a total jerk as well as a snob, not to mention incredibly controlling. Even if he has to be poor, Gabriel is better off without him. Eugenio was right that the problem between him and Blanca goes beyond his not telling her about Ana and Tulio. It was surprisingly perceptive of him. And count me in, Jarifa, on wanting Blanca to have a few fun adventures. She's certainly earned them.

RgvChick informed me there is no episode tonight because of soccer. Rats!

Augusto looked shocked when Gabi told him he didn't need him. I thought I saw some real emotion there. On the other hand, his sisters are real jerks. You would have thought that their mother dying would have brought the 3 of them closer together. His sisters seem to want to revel in their brother's misery. I guess since they don't do anything but spend their father's money, if Gabi succeeds it is a reflection on their own inadequacies. I don't know how Gabi is going to do with not a lot of money. He has a degree so he can get an ordinary job. Hopefully, he is another person Juli can help.

Jarifa - Thank you for the recap!

So many wonderful comments here by everyone. I look forward to watching this one this afternoon.

"This was a very talky episode in between the fair rides." Sounds like an episode of the Gilmore Girls. ;-)

Augusto is a first class jerk. Fine with me if the hermonsters run it into the ground, too. It would serve Augi right.

If Gabriel finds himself homeless, perhaps he could move in with Xavi?

Oh my, Linda just does not stop being Linda, does she? ;-p

This telenovela really presents the human condition on so many levels.
- Right now, it's the blame game. It is human nature to want to blame someone for whatever goes wrong in life. Here we have a family that is pointing the fingers in every direction. We in Viewerville are pointing fingers at the characters in this story.
- Then we have Imelda, who has lived long enough to have conned herself into believing that she knows what is best for everyone, in spite of the fact that she has two very troubled adult sons -- Tulio and Audifaz. Personally, I would have to have a psychiatrist analyze the three of them.
- Daniela, who has suffered for feeling responsible for Juan Pablo's disappearance. It is a miracle she is not nuttier than a fruitcake.
Well, I could go on with the examples but I've got to get back to work. :-)

OMG doris, love your avatars!!!

I always enjoy your smart and often snarky remards! Your comment "this telenovela really presents the human condition on so many levels" really resonated. Truer words were never spoken!

And I totally agree about Dani. It is really a miracle that she is functioning and has such a generous capacity to love.

Diana

Jarifa, thanks for a great recap of an excellent chapter. This is one outstanding TN. It got off to a rocky start I thought, but it has developed very nicely. And you recappers outline it for us so well.

I agree with you that it was a bit much, "everybody warning Daniela about getting married too soon. She is not a teenager..." No, she is 34 years old! But I suppose they are worried because she has been a tomboy for so long and this is her first real love. But she'll be OK.

Gabriel is a little too emotional. He can't help it I suppose, and I wouldn't want to see him change much, but he could butch it up just a tiny bit :-)

I didn't use to, but I'm beginning to find soccer annoying.

Andy, are we being preempted tonight for footy?

I rewatched the scene with Gabi crying at the end. He lost his mother and now he has basically lost his father. I can understand that he is living that loss as he says goodbye to the staff. He has certainly been on a roller coaster of emotions the last 2 days. I like that Gabi called his father out on firing him for personal reasons and not because of his work. I mean he and Dani were gone for at most a day and a half. I also liked that he demanded severance.

TV Guide online still has Mi Marido on for tonight, but they don't always get the Spanish-language channels right. We'll have to see.

Zap2It TV listings has La Rosa de Guadalupe at 7 and Fútbol Centro on at 8, Eastern time.

Carvivlie, butch it up just a teensy weeny tiny bit :-) :-)

Oops, I didn't mean to imply that Zap2It online TV listings has a direct connection to God or to Univision, so waiting to see is probably the best policy, though I don't expect to see either Follies of Ramon or Mi Marido tonight.

Thanks, Jarifa. Fab title and recap.

Eugenio used to be one of my favorites, but that "strawberry" guilt line he threw on Blanca years ago stops me from rooting for Blanca to return to him. How can he become worthy to be her husband again? These two need couple's therapy.

I've no problem with a man crying [Eugenio, cry all you want cause your Blanca is gone!], but Gabriel seemed blind-sided by his dad firing him, when all the signs were there that this was coming. Somewhere in the TN handbook, it says that viewers love a handsome man that can pour on the waterworks.

Linda has her issues, but kudos to her for not spoiling Daniela's euphoria on being starstruck in love and proposed to. Yep, those party poopers Robert and Marisol did mean well though -- I guess they are the stand-in for Blanca and Eugenio.

Carvivlie, it just occurred to me that I should have specified that Gabriel should "butch it up just a teensy weeny tiny bit :-) :-)"

But you knew that, right? I certainly hope so, but text based comments can be misinterpreted.

I have been laughing for the last two minutes, but I think I'll be more careful with my comments in the future.

:-)

Don't worry Andy, I knew who you were referring too! I think the writers have switched the stereotypical gender roles with Dani and Gabi, i.e. he as Cinderella and her the saviour Princess. I think Gabi is supposed to be the more emotional of the two, wears his heart on his sleeve, while Dani keeps hers underwraps.

Carvivlie, I was quite sure you did know, but better to err on the side of caution.

I have to admit that I have laughed at myself quite a bit since the thought that it might be misinterpreted occurred to me. I also talk to myself sometimes; very often, way too often, saying "What was I thinking?" But that's another story :-)

Hi, All. My guide has Futbol Central on at 7 Central for only one hour and Mi Marido still scheduled for 8 pm...so we shall see!

Carvivlie, you’re welcome. I also liked Gabriel asking for severance. I thought I was the only one who rewatched scenes. :)

RgvChick, thanks. When one thinks of what Blanca has had to endure, it amazing she has been as pleasant as she has been. It is easy for me to cut her a lot of slack now knowing more of her story. I wonder if economics had anything to do with her staying.

doris, you’re welcome. I love term “hermonsters”. It would be good if they turned on daddy the hand that feeds them.

Andy, thanks. Yes, this novela has surprisingly turned out to be just excellent. I look forward to each episode. Zap2It is usually pretty accurate. The soccer seems to have been a recent decision.

Niecie, thanks. ITA about Linda being the one not raining on Daniela’s parade. I keep thinking: hasn’t Daniela had enough living her life“In the vale of tears”? Good observation about the stand-ins for Eugenio and Blanca. : (

SpanProf, thanks. I am supposing that Blanca will return at some time but am wondering how long it will take her.

Jarifa - you are right but it's no wonder at all..... economics has a LOT to do with why women stay in bad situations/marriages, etc. Lack of job skills or current resumé, in Blanca's case not even knowing how to drive, co-dependency, etc., keep many women where they are just to maintain economic survival when poverty is the alternative. They have choices, yes, but those choices are not always what we want them to be.

doris, you hit the nail right on the head

I don't know if it's the writer(s), director, or actress, but they (he?/she?) are carrying the "dumbing down" of Amelia too far. In that scene where Blanca and Helen are talking, she is in the background asleep, SUCKING HER THUMB! It looked totally gross to me ... not cute, people, not cute.

Belen, not Helen. Thanks, autocorrect.

Hi, Anon 10:13, ITA. I just don’t like the character anyway.

It must be hard for the actress playing Amalia as we've not really seen anything to like.

Anon and Jarifa, I've been wishing for Dani to be a bit more feminine but perhaps I should be wishing Amalia's character to somewhat palatable.

Carvivlie, your "think the writers have switched the stereotypical gender roles with Dani and Gabi, i.e. he as Cinderella and her the saviour Princes" was very well said.

Happy Friday all!

Oh Diana, I so missed having an episode last night! I think about this TN way too much. I think it has become my favorite show. It used to be MCET or Amorcito Corazon. I hope this one stays golden.

I agree with everyone about Amalia's character. I didn't notice her sucking her thumb. I guess that plays into Belen's comment that she is still a child. Really weird. But my brother is almost 40 and he still will suck his fingers while watching tv--trying to hide it. I guess there are some things we just don't grow out of.

Carvivlie, I readily admit I love this show! And it is becoming one of my favorites as well...I've been watching for so many years, my list keeps changing but this one is right up there.

And the recappers and commenters are wonderful, which makes it even a more enjoyable experience.

And to think I almost missed out on this. I still say the "coming attractions" before this aired were very misleading. It did not look appealing and I was going to skip it. But when Jarifa said she was watching, I knew my initial thought was wrong as Jarifa has never steered me wrong.

I know I've come across as harsh and unforgiving in terms of Ana. But the truth is that is how I feel. Robert's little pinched crying face flashbacks just stay with me. I can't forgive such abuse of a child. I think Robert will forgive Ana (if he hasn't already). I'm not sure what Blanca will come to.

I am anxiously waiting to see how Gabi and Dani will band together. Something has to go right for these lovebirds.

Diana,

I don't expect the family to forgive Ana. I wouldn't if it was my son or brother. I guess I want Ana to forgive herself so that she can move forward and get some help and find a little happiness somewhere. I would like to see her get mentally healthy and try to work off her debt, volunteering at an orphanage or Rob's foundation--not just used her money.

I'm interested to see how Dani supports Gabi now that he has big problems. She is about to get a quick class in Relationship Skills 101. I'm wondering if Gabi has any of his own money inherited from his mother dying...but we don't know how far back that was so maybe it all comes from his father.
