Papa a Toda Madre, Capítulo 62; Friday April 13, 2018; “The Mother and Child Reunion is only a Motion Away”

No I would not give no false hope
On this strange and mournful day
But the mother and child reunion
Is only a motion away
(Paul Simon, "Mother and Child Reunion", 1971)

We begin tonight with Mau and Renée showing Maria to Anifer’s room to watch her child sleeping. She bends down to kiss Anifer on the cheek while she sleeps. Maria wipes her eyes of some tears as she walks out of the room. Maria says she wants to stay there till Ani wakes up, but Mau tells her that it’s best that he talk to Ani first to make sure she doesn’t get scared. After all this time, Ani has thought her mother to be dead. He adds that he has been her father, not biologically, but in the heart.  Maria gets back at him saying that he’s been deceptive as well since he’s NOT the real father.

“What heart?” says Maria. “If you had such a heart, you wouldn’t have tried to take her away from me.” Mau says, “I just wanted to protect her, that’s all.” Renée breaks this up by saying, “We need to be clear headed about this and think of Anifer’s welfare first, before any of us.” But Maria says, “I’m her mother and it’s been over a year since I’ve seen her. I have every right and Ani has every right to know that I’m here and alive.” Renée continues to run interference between them explaining away what might be the best thing to do. She reassures Maria that Mau really had been a good father and it’s going to hurt Ani to find out that Mau really isn’t her father at all.

At Nerón’s place, he and Pablo sit down to a cup of coffee. They discuss his part in what to do with the Lili pregnancy situation. Pablo wants to take responsibility while Nerón scolds him for not knowing how to take care of himself.

Renée serves some coffee for the three of them so they can think of the best way to break the news to Ani that her mother is alive. But Renée comes up with an idea. Maria says she has no reason to trust Renée, but no reason to not trust her either. So she listens.

At Jorge’s house, the siblings are being informed that Lili is pregnant. Sam wants to know who the father is, but Jorge presumptuously says that he will be the father to the new baby and he will tell the story that it belongs to him and a girlfriend he had. The baby will be a little brother or sister to the rest of them. This of course does not go over well with Lili after he tells her she will have to leave school. She is angry and says basically, “How do you think I’m going to let you get away with that? When I’m 18, I’m leaving and going far, far, away from you Jorge. And you too, Baldo!” Baldo says, “But we’re just trying to help.” Sam asks if people will ever believe that this baby will be Jorge’s. (Good question.) But Jorge basically says, “This is not a democracy, what I say goes.” [At this point, I am hating Jorge today. This is NOT his child, it’s his grandchild, mother’s rights come first!] Jorge then sends them to bed.

Later, Mau wants to know if Renée is angry with him. She says she is not angry, but she is hurt, that he did not confide in her that Ani wasn’t his biological daughter. They argue a little and Renée says this is not a good time to discuss this. She refers to this as a breach of trust. Then she says good night.

In the morning, Mau is in the car getting ready to take Ani to school and tells her that no matter what happens to always remember that he loves her with all his heart. He tells her that he has a surprise for her when she gets home. He encourages her about her fútbol game later. He also lets her know there is a surprise waiting for her after school.

At school the next day Val and Lili talk and Val assures Lili that she will be supportive because they are sisters and after all this is a little niece or nephew for her. She even offers to help take care of the baby. But Lili says right now she doesn’t know exactly what she will do. “What do you mean?” says Val. “I’ll talk with you later about it,” says Lili. Then Lili sees Pablo and goes over to him. Lili explains to him that she doesn’t know what she is going to do yet. Everything is very complicated. But Pablo assures her that she is not alone in this. He is here for her no matter what happens, he will be by her side.

Jorge appears to be searching for work, by calling various colleagues in his field. He is explaining he needs work now because of pending urgencies. Then he looks at a website called “Transporcity”, kind of an Uber or Lyft type of business. Phone rings and it’s Kika! She is calling to find out if Lili is alright. Jorge somewhat rudely tells her that this is a family matter and she needs to stay out of it. Kika is not happy to hear this and pretty much calls him a useless, rude jerk. She gets mad throws her phone and says, “This is what I get for being a good person.”

Toño goes to see Vero at the school where she is coaching the children. She gets snarky with him and asks him why he doesn’t call her on the cell phone. He explains he wants to tell her this in person. He found a new doctor for Neto and wants her to come meet him to talk about another treatment.

Flor and Nerón come out from the doctor’s offices discussing whether or not she should get a 2nd opinion. He promises that no matter what, he will take care of her. However there is one thing that Flor does request. She does not want Nerón to tell anyone about her illness. Not any of the neighbors or his children. She does not want anyone feeling sorry for her. She makes him swear to her on Milady’s name that he will not tell anyone. She makes some threats, they hug, but she does look a little scared.

After school, Mau, Renée, and Ani sit at the dining room table talking about the surprise. They make this little game like the time they deceived her into thinking her mother was texting her. Then Mau tells her that her mother is alive and did not die like they originally thought. But Ani now thinks this is a game and she thinks it is Vero sending a message. They assure her it is not a game and show her that her mother is really texting. Then she hears and recognizes her mother’s voice from the computer. Then they bring her up on Skype coming from Ani’s bedroom. Ani recognizes the background and goes straight over to see her mother Maria where they tearfully embrace.

Of course Ani is very happy to see her mother and tells her she missed her a lot. But she has the best father in the world. She explains to Maria that when she first met Mau, he was getting married, but not to Renée. He was getting married to another woman, but as soon as Ani made her appearance, the wedding was off. Maria was quite surprised to find this out. They talk a little more and Mau asks Maria to stay for dinner. Ani assures her that Mau is a very good cook. Ani also mentions the trip they were taking to Maryland. Mau assures them that the reason he cancelled the trip was because he found out that her mother was indeed alive. Ani wants to know if her mother can sleep there. Renée says, “of course”, then goes to find sheets and blankets for Maria.

Toño and Veronica meet with another doctor. This doctor says that drugs don’t solve the problem many times. It takes a combination of scheduling things differently in the family, getting good nutrition and exercise. He also recommends psychological counseling to help. Veronica is not so sure about this, but this doctor says he can refer her to various other parents who were in the same situation and were successful. [Hey, even I like this doctor!]

Jorge goes to see Kika at the hotel where she is staying. He is coming to apologize and ask her forgiveness because he wasn’t a gentleman. He also wants to see her. Kika opens the door then slams it on him calling him a “patán” which means lout or someone boorish. He admits he’s been a “patán” and Kika wants to hear him say it again. From outside the door he tells her he understands now that that she really was just worried for his daughter and meant well. She opens the door, accepts his apology, then tells Jorge he can leave now and says, “Bye”. He continues to plead with her, Kika opens the door and says to him, “All you want me for is to have sex, that’s all.” She shuts the door again. He continues to plead with Kika, saying he DOES have feelings for her, very much the way he felt for Yuri, but different. Kika says, “You mean you feel like you are in love?” Jorge admits to feeling like he is in love. He starts to leave, but Kika opens the door and she runs out to him and jumps in his arms. Later they cuddle in bed fully clothed. They talk of love and Kika encourages Jorge to remove his wedding ring. He also asks her if she is sure about this because he has four adolescent teenagers.

Veronica and Toño talk to the children about divorce. The children seem to take it very well and say that as long as they see them every day, they will be fine. [Never seen kids take so kindly toward divorce. This is unreal. Usually kids are very upset and distraught when finding out parents no longer love each other.] Abuela wants to know how these children are so okay with divorce. “It used to be that children didn’t know anything about divorce. How is it that you children know so much?” Tania pipes up and says, “It’s because so many of the kids in my class have divorced parents.” [What a sad state of affairs today.] Vero and Toño assure the children that they will always be their mother and father and be there for them no matter what. Then Abuela says, ‘And I’ll always be your grandmother!” They do a group hug.

In the evening, Lili and Pablo are texting and she tells him her plan to leave school during the day, getting excused for not feeling well.
Mau and Renée are cleaning up after dinner and continue to discuss what Mau didn’t tell her. He explains he did what he did because he didn’t want to lose Anifer. Maria comes out, says she is going to bed. Ani comes out from the bathroom, done brushing her teeth and asks for Mau to tell he the nightly bedtime story. Mau explains to Maria that is at habit that they have gotten into. Ani tells her mother she is going to love Mau’s stories.

Over at Rafa/Rod’s place, Toño tells them about the divorce. They tell Toño to take as much time as he needs. Rod says he needs to leave now because SOMEONE has to bring home a paycheck in this family. [Is that a jab toward Rafa because although he is a veterinarian, he doesn’t seem to have any clients or patients?] Then Rafa tells Toño about some homophobic relatives of his from Jalisco who are opening up a branch office of a business they have. He encourages Toño to take his resume in. He will talk to another cousin of his who is not homophobic to see what he can do for him.

Mau finishes up his story to Ani, but she says it wasn’t quite as good as he does sometimes. Mau says that this time he was a little nervous. Maria makes some sort of references to the story being too conservative and says she prefers stories that are neoliberal and I have no idea what she was talking about and neither did Mau. They say goodnight.

The Barrientos children begin the day excited about their upcoming fútbol tournament later that day. Even Tania is excited and tells Toño she is going to give fútbol a try. They all leave for school and Toño nearly leaves Fidelito behind.

At the school, the kids come out ready to play fútbol. Anifer introduces her mother Maria to Vero and Toño. Rafa and Rod arrive and Renée explains who the woman is seated with Mau. “It’s a long story. I’ll explain later.” Says Renée.

Pablo meets Lili at school to go to the clinic. While there they discuss if this is the right thing to do. Lili says she won’t have this kid tossed about either. She tells Pablo, “What kind of future can this kid ever have?” The nurse calls her name.

Jorge signs papers at Transporcity.

Vero gives the kids a pep talk, but, the game turns out to be a disaster, as Veronica’s team is playing Yolanda’s team. The other kids are much bigger and faster. The other team scores goal after goal after goal, finally winning the game 5 to 0. Veronica cries breaking out in tears.

After the game, Ani is very happy even though they didn’t win. Everyone tells her it doesn’t matter that they won or lost, it’s about learning to play the game. Rafa and Rod come to give her a hug. Mau tells Maria how much Ani is loved in the neighborhood. Maria now gives the bad news. “You have done a very good job with a child who isn’t even yours. But I’ve done a lot of thinking and I have decided it’s best to leave tomorrow with Anifer to go home to my city.”

Thanks, Cynthia. This was excellent. Glad you are feeling better.

Good episode with lots of plot development.

I thought Anifer was never going to get to see María with the long novela buildup.

Finally, with Jorge’s admission of his feelings for Kika he just may let his stupid plan to claim Lili’s child as his own go. Cynthia, that really aggravated me, too, since he is only the grandfather. It seemed like something that might have had happened back in the 1940’s.

Now, this second opinion on Neto is what Toño should have finessed with Verónica BEFORE they started talking divorce. He finally acted like an adult.

I was impressed that Renée was troubled about Mauricio and how he handled knowing María was in town looking for Anifer. Her BS meter is on and working just fine.

So how long will María be in town with Anifer? Will she be able to leave as quickly as she wants to?

Thank You Thank You Cynthia. A great recap in so many ways.
A. Proof positive that you are improving,
B. Luuuurve your red comments
C. Enjoy people doing the right thing for once

Um..has our new cerebrally improved Mauricio thought to explain to Maria the whole debacle with Fabian, fake DNA, fake grave, fake everything.?

Does Maria not owe somefrigginbody and explanation of how HER daughter wound up stopping HIS wedding?
Does Maria not mayfriggingbe need to thank somefriggingbody for the expert care of HER daughter for a few (maybe more than 52) weeks?

Does Anifer get to vote in this matter?
Does she have to resign as the Director of Toy Design in AniToys?
Are they just going to live in Maria's car? No...Wait, What..........OK.. she doesn't HAVE a car. Next...
Can Anifer bring her plant? It is planted near Dog #A, right?

Kika Kika Kika, as hateful as you can be, I just don't have it in me any more. Your celebrations behind a closed door as you laboriously wrung a smidgen of feelings for you from Jorge were the best.

Yolanda......Hot......Vero....Not
And Yoli's in your face victory lap with the trophy was fun.
Vero was pretty hot in Vino. She should have used some of that money she made there and bought an ass.

WTF with these impulsive young women in this TN? Maria has no reason to bolt out of there with Anifer. Renee especially, and Mau too, have been more than gracious, and exactly where is Maria in such a hurry to go?
Motel 6
Her job?
Another jail?
'Will Work For Food" sign on the corner?
"Please Help, We are Hungry, God Bless" sign holder on the corner?

Visit Baby Daddy? No wait, she doesn't have a gun. Forget it.

In case someone forgot, Dog A was Tono's Chocolate Lab.

How wonderful to build your title on that Paul Simon song and to include the lyrics at the start. Just beautiful. A marvelous touch.

As were all your comments in red. Yes, I too like the doctor. And no, seeing divorce all around them does not mean the kids are ho-hum. After all we had the scene the night before where Tania is crying and the little guys come in and they wail too that they don't want their parents to split up.

And although people talk about "civilized" divorces, the truth is there's so much anger and aggression generated by the process, it's absolutely toxic to everyone for a while.[That being said, in the case of abuse, adultery or alcoholism divorce is often the only wise option]

However, I just don't think these two are going to divorce. And I can't see Lili getting an abortion either. C'mon, this is a comedy. No way. But we shall see.

Cynthia, just delighted that you are feeling well enough to recap again. Thank you so much. And may the healing continue and that you soon are feeling better than you have ever felt in your whole life. On top of the world! Blessed and beautiful.

Crimmidy you guys still asleep?

But we totally could, right?

Oh yeah.

Cynthia, I’m so glad your recovery has advanced. Yay, you’re back in the saddle. The recap is simply excellent and Paul Simon too.

Hey, I'm an early bird for a change. Comment No. 8, that's me.

At school the next day Val and Lili talk and Val assures Lili that she will be supportive because they are sisters and after all this is a little niece or nephew for her. She even offers to help take care of the baby.

Ah, that was so sweet. I hope these two finally bond. Don't know what Lili will decide to do, but she does have a good support network (Pablo, Val, Kika, and soon her inheritance). She just needs to use her head.

ITA totally unbelievable the kids took the divorce news this well. Most kids whose parents are still together are proud of that fact and don't want to lose it. Especially since the parents had been happy just months ago.

Is Maria scared Mau has supplanted her in Anifer's heart? There's room in there for both of them and it's way too soon to take Anifer away.

Cynthia: I don't trust Maria at all! I feel like she's working with Fabian & Co.,

Kirby: Somebody call Maury Povich.

Cynthia, you are back and in fine form. Heartfelt recap, perfect screen shots.

Yes, the Paul Simon title was excellent and inspired.

I'm likely alone at a table on this but I feel Anifer's reintroduction to her mother whom she thought was dead was very well done. I don't think Ani should have been woken up from a sound sleep, trying to process what happened. Mau and Renee gently paving the way and her joyous reunion with Maria was worth the few hours wait.

Maria seems very direct and while loving her daughter is obvious, I think it's insensitve for her to spirit Ani away. We don't know her backstory so she may have her reasons. But ripping her away from Mau seems just wrong. "Does she have to resign as the Director of Toy Design in AniToys? Are they just going to live in Maria's car?" Good questions Kirby.

Jarifa, I was also happy Tono is being proactive in trying to help his son. Finally. But, is it too late?

Jorge and Kika ae so good together. She makes him think and masterfully manages to bring whatever good is in him out. I never understood why people keep wearing their wedding rings once they split. Good for Kika for calling him on that. It's when Jorge is by himself that he is his utter worst. Like passing Lili's child off as his. "This is NOT his child, it’s his grandchild, mother’s rights come first!]" - right on Cynthia.

Judy, you are so right in that divorce is toxic. I know it's the right thing for some but it's painful for children who often struggle for years, aching for the loss of their parent who leaves. Have I mentioned lately I loathe Dulce? I am sure she is going to turn up to ruin things. But, I think Kika can and will more than hold her own if that occurs.

Niecie, Lili does have a good support network. I am with Judy though, I don't think she will opt for an abortion.

One of the saddest moments was our Flor showing her worried face when hugging Neron. Your screen shot really touched me.

Like Tono and Vero's all to quick disintigration of their marriage, Raf and Rod seem speeding up to that point. Quite a bit is eating at Rod. He better speak up so they can fix things.

Cynthia, thank you for this amazing recap.

Diana

Toño-Haters, don't throw tomatoes, but when I watched the episode this morning and saw that inadvertent Toñ-Vero kiss during the group hug, I thought "Yup, for sure those two are going to realize they still love each other."

The other great thing about that scene was the behavior of the youngest. He clearly is too young to take any stage direction so he was just zoning out, pulling up his shirt and doing all those nutty little gestures that young children do when they're forced to sit still and don't want to. He was soooo dying to just wander off the set! you could tell.

Okay, back to the laundry and dusting and vacuuming.

Good morning everyone. Thank you so much for the recap Cynthia, i hope you've made much progress in your recovery.

I believe Maria wants to take Anifer away from there as soon as possible because she's freaking out. The entire day she's seen how well adjusted Anifer was with Mauricio and his neighbors. She's probably worried she won't be able to move Anifer without a major protest if they stay longer. But I also don't think Maria fully grasped the extent to which Anifer has a made a completely new life with a stranger. She said she's been in prison for a year. So for an entire year Anifer depended completely on Mauricio, believing he's her father. Maria isnt thinking properly on how to approach this situation. Ripping Anifer away from Mauricio as she's planning is going to traumatize her daughter and do a lot of damage (much more than when they brought Maria back to her life).

Jorge's plan to pass off the child as his is dumb. Who cares what people think- his neighbors dont even seem to be judgmental. Or is he trying to hide Lili's pregnancy from the church? He's ridiculous already. I've only seen grandparents have custody of their grandchildren when the parent isn't interested in the responsibility. I can actually see Lili doing that. She would just take off at 18 and the child ends up being Jorge's. I'm surprised Pablo agreed to the abortion.

Poor Valentina still tries to get along with Lili and show her support, but Lili just flat out doesn't have any interest in getting along with her. Not even once has she done a thing for her. I hate whenever Lili and Baldo refer to Sammy and Valentina as los morros. I feel they're degrading them.

Wasn't it Thursday when Tania, Neto and Fidel were trying to come to terms with the impending divorce? Maybe they've all agreed to just go along and pretend everything is dandy. Or perhaps they really have convinced themselves its okay, there are so many families that are worse off anyway?

I figured Yola's team would beat Vero's. Vero didnt really seem like she knew what to do with her team during practice. Her crying as Yola walked around with the trophy was funny. I guess losing the game to her really hit her.

I'm hoping Jorge really does feel something for Kika, and isn't just saying ghings out of fear of lo d ing her. Who the heck wears their wedding ring around after being abandoned?

Maia

Diana we are on the same page about Maria, as I don't fully trust her either.
TNs have taught me that my suspicions that a woman does not own underwear is not a foolproof reason to trust her.
And Like I thought aloud before, where is she in such a hurry to go? Mau and Renee sure have not made her feel unwelcome, far from it.

In her defense, she didn't appear to know Falcon. Does she even remember who is actually Anifer's Father? I mean she had thought all this time he was named Mauricio, but would she recognize Fabian if she saw him today? Have they seen each other or been in touch since conception?

And who spoons looking like they were on their way back to their desk from the Xerox machine? But that's OK. Kika and Jorge are the most unlikely couple, but who am I to judge? The internet is full of pictures of Daschund / Poodle puppies. ! Datsadoodle or something like that?

Complementary things to say about Lili are getting scarce.

Arrogant, spiteful and selfish are not considered complements, right?

Correction: DoxiePoo is the more popular word.----------------------------------------------------->>>>>>>>>

I know.......the first thought is "Well, it IS cute"
But the second thought must be "Hmmm were Mom and Pop stranded on a deserted island in the South pacific?"

Thank you, Cynthia. Welcome back.

In our neck of the wood, we had several "latest news" interruptions. The most annoying one was in the end when María says "I made a decision. Tomorrow ... Latest news!" What tomorrow? What was the decision? Thanks Cynthia to let us know.

I loved the mother - daughter reunion. Very touching and sweet. Kudos to Renée (first credit,) Mauricio and María.

The soccer match was amusing. Yolanda's team had a ringer. He was just crushing Vero's team. In the end, he got a free kick. When he was about to hit the ball, the wall ran away, the goalie joined them. He was hitting in the empty net.

I hope María reconsiders. She is strong willed but can be convinced, as evidenced by her agreeing to Renée's reunion plan. Mau and Renée, quickly come up with the sales pitch. I think the guided tour for María into Ani's life was laying the groundwork for enticing her to stay.

I also hope Lili reconsiders. Pablo should try what Montse did in "LQLVMR." Give it a name. "Wouldn't Paula be a lovely name? Or Yuriria?"

Thank you, Cynthia, for that rousing recap. So glad that you are feeling better and sending out prayers that your recovery continues. (I am also glad that you found your way to the Outlander forum!)

Kirby and Judy, I got a big giggle out of your comments ...ha..you two guys!!!

Well, a grandparent claiming a grandchild as his\her own actually own actually did happen. In fact, the singer Bobby Darin grew up believing that his grandmother was his mother ,but the woman he believed was his sister was his real mother. Perhaps Jorny plans to marry Kiki , and then send both she and Lily on a trip together. Then, they could return with baby and tell people that he and Kik are the parents. This guy !!

I thought that the reunion scene was kind of a letdown. My little Grand girls seem more excited when their mommy returns from work everyday than Ani did to see the beloved mother whom she thought was dead.

Well, I am finally out on my real patio. 80 and sunny. The breeze is moving the Chinese and windsocks, the forsythia is blooming , and I am starting to see some spots of green in the woods. And.....tomorrow down to 50. ..boo.

Good Day, Patio Peeps. Cynthia, I'm so glad you're well enough to grace us with your splendid recaps and inspiring title. Thank you! Well, I've been out doing chores and running errands while you all's busy little fingers and brains have touched on just about everything...great comments!

Kirby, ditto on all your questions and everyone else's comments regarding Maria. She's acting on impulse (which seems to be rampant in this TN) and not thinking things through. Why would she want to go back to a place that she supposedly ran from and sent her daughter away from? From what I remember, she has no family...and her friends were certainly not around when she was framed and put in jail. I'm on the fence about trusting Maria. She has every right to be untrusting and suspicious of everyone...that's probably why she wants to high-tail it out of there. OTOH, she needs to take time and sort things out, try to make sense of what's going on and then make a decision.

For some reason, I don't think Lili will get an abortion either. Maybe if Jorge had suggested it she wouldn't have given it a second thought because it seems that she is spitefully doing everything that Jorge doesn't want her to do.

Kika and Jorge--I'm with you Kirby. WHen I saw them spooning fully clothed, I was like "whaaat??" But I am glad that Jorge finally admitted to her that he has more thatn physical feelings for her. NOw the question is, "How long will it take him to admit it to his kids?"

JudyB et all, ITA about the Barrientos kids...totally unreal how they made that switch from one night to the next day. Writer's blunder there...

Flor-I was hoping for better news for her. She SEEMS to be taking it well, but that look when she hugged Neron says otherwise.

Jarifa, "I was impressed that Renée was troubled about Mauricio and how he handled knowing María was in town looking for Anifer. Her BS meter is on and working just fine." She impressed me too, but I got concerned when she was talking to Rafa, especially when Renee mentioned that she is very disappointed in Mau. She said that a couple should trust each...and where there is no trust, there is no love. She also thinks that she and Mau started on the wrong foot. So I foresee troubled waters for this couple.

Susy, "I thought that the reunion scene was kind of a letdown. My little Grand girls seem more excited when their mommy returns from work everyday than Ani did to see the beloved mother whom she thought was dead." I was disappointed too. I expected a tear-jerker scene...I even had my tissue ready...but NADA.

Kirby, is cute little Dixiepoo yours...Does she get along well with Daisy?

Thank you, Cynthia! A great, detailed, and well written recap. I hope this means that you are much improved; please let us know.

I was delighted to see Yolanda back and coaching her team. Nothing to do with the story, just a delight to see her again. (Please, no criticism from anybody who wants to hang on so & so's biceps :)

Kirby, you are absolutely right that Maria should be filled in on the whole story. She doesn't really know a lot of what happened. Someone she doesn't recognize tells her that he is Mauricio Lopez Garza and has her daughter, yet he is not the Mauricio Lopez Garza who fathered her child and she doesn't say WTQ? Right.

Diana, ITA that "Quite a bit is eating at Rod. He better speak up so they can fix things." Hot Rod is OK, Rafa is a bit of a jerk, and not just because of the way he acted with Renee. Shows to go ya, even in same sex marriages it pays to look before you leap.

Lucio, "LQLVMR." Thanks, and SPQR to you. Or did you mean 6.02 × 10^23?

:-)

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia! I’m relieved that you felt well enough to write this. Thank you! I hope you are feeling better every day. (((Hugs)))

Was that an abortion clinic? If so, all bets are that Lili will bail at the last minute. Abortion is such a big no-no in telenovelaland.

I have a new CrackpotTheory™ #2: María the “neoliberal” will stay in town and agree to carry the baby for Rafa. How else can Anifer stay in the picture? And María is the right person to do this.

Still hanging in there with original CrackpotTheory™ #1 that Lili’s baby will be open-adopted to R&R.

I like the Neto’s new doctor, too! I noticed Toño and Vero holding hands --- a good sign.

I agree about the kids’ reaction to the divorce talk. Um, yeah, not normal for sure. Maybe those kids got a spoiler peek at the script.

I just loved the Kika and Jorge scene, it was funny and we needed that last night. These two are good together. Kika is just what Jorge needs and I think he knows it.

Judy...Fidelito is my favorite character . He is adorable and seems to not realize that he is on A TV SHOW !!!

You are so right about divorce being hard on the kids , but sometimes for the good and safety of everyone, it is the on!y course...and you know what I mean. Enough said. As to still wearing the wedding ring after a split, in OUtlander, many readers cannot understand why the main character continues to wear her first husband's ring after she marries the hero\love of her life. Also, I just found out that my friend's daughter who has been married and divorced twice says she will not marry again...but she wants an engagement ring from her current beau. Times they are achanging ! Maybe the whole concept of marriage has changed.

Uhoh....the breeze was not moving the "Chinese" ...it was moving the CHIMES !! I really , really hate this tablet . And nature and this "heat" is distracting me.

Thanks everyone! It's good to be back in the saddle again! I was feeling pretty useless not being able to look at the computer screen for more than 10 minutes at a time without my eye hurting and watering.

Regarding Jorge giving orders that he would be the "father" to this baby made me angry. How dare he! In the old days, families used to do this, claim the baby to be of the daughter's parents and raise the child as their own so that the "errant" daughter could live her life, finish high school, college, and marry someone else. I can't see why anyone would do that anymore. I hope Lili does not get the abortion. I think she will regret it if she does as she is still grieving her mother, she doesn't need grieving an unborn baby on top of it.

Judy and Diana, I'm glad you liked my incorporating the Paul Simon song at the beginning. I try to be creative here. :)

I don't trust Maria either. I wonder if she will try to find Fabian next. Also, I think Maria is feeling insecure about Ani doing so well without her.

Hopefully, Mau and Renee can work things out. I know she is not trusting him now, but hopefully they can talk things out and Renee will understand why Mau did what he did.

The soccer game was funny with the other team beating the pants off Vero's team. I remember my son being on some AYSO soccer teams where he had another teammate named Guillermo Gonzalez. This kid played like a pro and made almost all the goals. His teams won every game with Guillermo there. He did grow up to become a professional soccer player and played for LA Galaxy for a while. Now he is coaching youth and community college.

Susanlynn, thanks for the link to that Outlander forum. I plan to start reading and catching up there soon. Sharing with my daughter and my sister too. They have also become huge Outlander fans.

"I have a new CrackpotTheory™ #2: María the “neoliberal” will stay in town and agree to carry the baby for Rafa"

#WaitWhat? Carry Lili's baby, a new baby a pretend baby, a baby from WaloMartino? I'm cornfuzed?

RGV No Doxiepoo is not mine. Just some model's picture I found on Google.
Daisy is much better today since she started wearing that pretty copper.............ah..............nevermind.
She's fine.

But she now insists on sleeping on top of my car and she ate the stuffing in her bed.

Kirby - New theory is that María will do the job for Rafa that Renee turned down. Donate ovum, uterus, etc.

Oh... OK now I understand. Somehow by hook or crook? fertilize HER egg and skip a few steps with her carrying it too.

That's tricky.
PackCock™ theory number three

And it has nothing to do with Lili, Pablo, Jorge and the milkman.

Love the puppy picture Kirby. Reminds me of Toño and Vero's youngest, the squirmy, adorable Fidelito.

Well, I'm sticking with Doris. Lili and Pablo will agree to let Rodrigo and Rafa raise their little one while they both pursue higher education and hopefully mature a little bit. Although honestly, I actually used the "just one time without protection" will be alright, and the wonderful result was that we had our third baby when I was 40 and my husband 42.[And of course I'd already given away all my baby equipment, furniture etc.] Anyway thanks to that surprise, we now also have a grandbaby in town rather than a gazillion miles away....so whatever Lili and Pablo decide, I still say babies are a blessing.

Judy...i agree. I think that lili will not have an abortion and let R&R adopt the baby. Although it might prove a problem in the future if the bio parents and adopted parents all stay i that culcesac.

Does fakeMaury fab know that Maria is out of prison? Do we know why she ended up in a prison in Guatemala? Pablo is from Guatemala. What is up with Guatemala? The liberal is now a neoliberal. What does that mean in Mexico? What's up with Juan Perez?

I think it was Fabian who arranged for Maria to be released from prison, so that Mauricio would lose Anifer in addition to the factory. He made a phonecall a few episodes back right after deciding to wreak havoc on Mauricio's life again. When Maria was told she would be released, the lawyer guy told her that the business decided to drop the charges. Which was why it was so dumb of her not to ask for the name of the business right then and there.

Maia

Maia, I'm certain Fabian was behind everything--from putting her in prison to getting her out. What the lawyer told Maria was that they had found the person who was actually responsible for whatever she was charged with. She was very suspicious at the time, but then seemed to drop her doubts and focused on getting to Anifer.

Susy, Fabian does know that Maria is out. He sent Falcon to meet her at the airport, but she refused to go with him because she didn't know him. It was then that Falcon gave her a phone...and I'm sure it was for a devious reason...maybe it has a tracking app or something to let Fabian know what she is doing.

I would think that Maria could at least be persuaded to let Anifer stay with Mauricio and Renee until the end of the school year.

Maria got out of jail in another country a day or two ago. Wouldn't the average Mom be happy as all get out to have a trustworthy couple who have been caring for her daughter to continue until she :
1. Has a place to live
2. Gets the utilities on
3. Buys groceries and actually sets up housekeeping
And probably before 1,2,and 3.. 4. .HAS a JOB?

Remember the place she supposedly previously lived is burned to the ground. Of course this could be another of Fabian's Fabrications.

More cuteness to go with our story.

Awww, now that deserves a cutesy award! :-)

What a great pic to see first thing in the morning!

Thanks. This one is for real,.
You know, MY actual arm and a smart squirrel who called himself 'Lucky'.
Messy eater though !

Kirby: Big question is whether the Good Guys can stop Fabian & the sinister conspiracy ?

I think a can of Black Flag Roach spray would put Fabian in the feet up position.

Kirby...ew..I do not like that photo. Bring back the cute animals.

Well, goodbye to spring. Overcast and 35 today. Bummer.

OK

Much better...thanks.

Your new roommate Kirby?

I was thinking about this tn today. It is mainly about the human condition and relationships ...marriage...parenthood...disease...sex....education.....adolescence . It is very different than the themes we saw in Vino , Doble vida, Ramoon....adultery...gambling, drugs ,alcohol, murder, crime .

Also the grief of losing a beloved parent René. Or thinking you had lost a beloved parent (Anifer, Baldo, Lili).

Rain is falling endlessly here and has done so since last night. Another gray, dreary day in central Ohio!

Yup, big front moving through FloriDuh today, Torrential rain and mid sixties.
Yeah Mr. Lucky was my roommate for a while. He grew up and decided to live with the other squirrels. He stayed friends with me though. :-(

Instead of painting your toenails with every whim of Nature of Beanie color, maybe just some nail stickers?

" I was thinking about this tn today. It is mainly about the human condition and relationships "
ITA, Susanlynn, and that's why I commented here that it is so relevant on many levels.

We received the predicted 2" of rain from that front hitting y'all, along with colder temps. Again. Ugh. I'm so sick of this stuff. This is the type weather where we go right into summer heat & humidity with no in-between from winter. ;-p

Well today was gray and chilly. I had to stay indoors compared to spending all day yesterday on the patio and hanging laundry on the line. Recently started raining here .And we have flash flood warnings.

Judy...yes this tn has definitely explored the grief of losing a motber...Maury, Renee, Neuron's sons, Lily and Baldo, Ani. Then, we have Vero absent from the family home while working long hours and traveling, and Dulce leaving and completely ignoring her kids. Title could have been "Mothers are important."

Hey, All. Had to share...I just heard a good one on a Hallmark movie...

"Are you humbly grateful or grumbley hateful?" ...made me think of Maria...

Thank you, Mr. Brolin!

RVG Chick: Please pray for the family of former FLOTUS Barbara Bush.

I sure will, Steve! She is a grand lady in all respects.

Hate this dreary rainy stay inside weather. Sit on my but or go to the kitchen and graze.

:-(

Kirby...raining here, too, but i ha e to go out in it in 15 minutes. Yeah well, as they say around here. Where is my umbrella ?😠

Good morning all.

Yes, it's raining here too today too- bad luck for all those running in the Boston Marathon.

Yesterday, we had hail. WTH??

The good news was it's school vacation week here so it wasn't bumper to bumper driving in.

Hey Mr. Lucky. I have always liked squirrels and make sure there's enough food for birds, squirrels, bunnies and the occasional deer to eat. Everyone eats in harmony - we could learn a lot from nature.

Diana

Rain and wind all weekend here and this morning ice and snow! Hey, it is only the middle of April. : )

Greetings from the land of cold and cloud cover. Diana, glad at least the traffic was lighter today. Jarifa, bundle up! Our sump pump in the basement has been running non-stop to handle all the rain that fell in the last 24 hours. We need a nice sunny episode of Un Padre a Toda Madre to cheer us up!

JudyB, you are so right. I hope it is happy capítulo today. We are due for one.

Still gray and raining here and the creeks are rising. ....but at !east no hsil, snow, or ice. Hang in there, all. As someone famous wrote, "if winter comes, can spring be far behind?" And the answer is...it can sometimes be far , far behind.

Good Morning, All!!

Sorry to here about all the gloomy weather. It's a cool morning in the RGV, but the sun is shining brightly and mid 80's expected later. We were graced with some rain on Friday, but nothing to brag or worry about.

((((((((((Sending bright, sunny vibes to all )))))))))

Hi, Chickie, i will be thinking of you, your pups, and your goats scampering about in the sunshine.

And I am thankful for this patio where I can whinge and bitch about the weather and no one will yell at me! Have a good day everybody.

Dearest judy, we would never ever yell at you. We all need a place to whinge and bitch and this has turned into that place. 😇😈

Gracias amiga. Love those emojiis.

Friday we were wearing shorts. This morning it was spitting snow and 34°F. We are so over this weather., 😛😛😛

Judy...(tablet really wanted nudy and mudy but I prevailed. )

Yes, i discovered those cute little emojis on my tablet..things appear and disappear on my tablets...ah..technology. 😈😊😀😁😂😃😄😅😆😇😈😉😯😐😑😕😠😬😡😢😴😮😣😤😥😦😧😨😩😰

Ice and snow Jarifa??? Ack. That is just wrong...sounds as though you aren't faring much better doris...

Judy, I hope your basement is OK, sorry you have so much rain!

The emojis are great susanlynn.

RgvChick, happy you have some nice weather. I remember you've had drought and other deplorable conditions, you deserve a change. Sun and '80's sound divine.

I wouldn't mind a little Jorge and Kika tonight. Geez, I never, ever thought I'd utter those words :)

Diana

"tablets...ah..technology. 😈😊😀😁😂😃😄😅😆😇😈😉😯😐😑😕😠😬😡😢😴😮😣😤😥😦😧😨😩😰"

Now for the life of me, I can't tell what kind of mood our dear Susy is in.......................

Diana, yeah, who would thought that Jorny and kikidee were going to be the least depressing part of this novela ....and the day. 😨

SusanLynn, looking for some positive vibes

Kirby...well...let me see...maybe 😴 ...listless and lethargic..like the skies here.

Aaaaaaaand....it is now snowing in Columbus. Boy oh Boy, I'm hoping for a red-hot Kika-Jorge Ramble tonight. Either that or Rodrigo taking a long shower.

Judy..i would favor Rod in the shower to Jorny and kiki in a ramble.

Separated at birth, my friend, separated at birth. How come I'm so much older than you!?

I vote for Rodrigo in the shower. 🙂
